Pokémon Top 5: My Favourite Fairy Types

This is it my friends! A Journey has come to an end! The 18th.. and final.. Pokémon typing top 5! Ending up with my favourite typing ever  was always the plan.. but it left some unexpected results. This list might not be the least factual top 5. Though my  top 3 is stable numbers 4 and 5 are fairly random picks! I will explain why in the final time we discuss our rules.

Rules and Honourable Mentions

As always only one entry per evolutionary line and if I dislike a final form it will be held against the previous form if said form does not have the ability to stand on it’s own. For example I really think Spritzee is cute but Aromatisse is a bit odd! I don’t dislike it as much as the community does so it is actually not my pick! That one would go to Floette! I love Floette and Flabebe but the final evolution is weird to me.. I can’t really recognise it as anything. I see the flower theme still but why did she have to go so big all of the sudden. I liked the subtle changes! Eternal Floette of course is viable without her but a normal Floette not so much. Hence this spot goes to Floette.

Now why this list isn’t as representative as others.. like always if a pokémon already made an appearance on another list, for example if I put Charizard on my Fire Type list it can’t also be my favourite flying type because that would be boring and really reduce our options.  Before this hasn’t really been a big issue. It usually involves maybe one pokémon slile Salazzle who I choose not to include on my favourite Fire type list so I could make her poison. Toxtricity was put on my electric list instead of the poison list. It’s  single exclusions. However.. here we go with all the pokémon that I mentioned in the top’s before that are among my favourite pokémon that share the fairy type. Mimikyu , Primarina, Klefki, Magearna, Diancie, Alolan Ninetales, Alolan Rapidash, Togekiss and Gardevoir. Gardevoir would actually take the number four spot  and Togekiss the number 5 most likely but all of these are insanely close to one another! I love the Fairy type that much! But shout out goes to Gardevoir.

Temporary forms are not allowed and this affects two mega-evolutions. I love both Mega Audino and Mega Altaria! Mega Audino because she is such a different Mega evolution as the rest, focusing more on support and Mega Altaria just looks nice and silly which I really like! So now I have to decide which of the two I have to highlight and I have trouble with this because I love them both a lot! Mega Altaria is slightly more useful and being a Fairy Dragon is amazing!  Still I feel Audino would cry more if I would not put it on this list! It deserves some love! So look up Mega Altaria in Google and praise the amazing Mega Audino here!

Finally a pokémon has to feel like a fairy type and while the type usually has that covered for me, I guess there is one exception! A pokémon I very much adore but I feel that would have been better off with the flying type to depict the “cleaner” air theme! That pokémon is Galarian Weezing. The design is amazing and fun and whimsical and I totally adore this pokémon in every single way! Including its ability! It just does not feel like a fairy to me!

Favourite Fairy Type #5 Tapu Lele

I really do not like putting legendaries on this list as I never really use them, they feel like cheaty pokémon and the island guardians are very much the same. Yet Tapu Lele has something the others do not! I use her pokémon card in my old school fighting type deck! For her ability to add a supporter card to my hand for placing her on the bench! She is a good wall to build up my field as well so this pink spirit person is close to my heart. I have used her in game as well since it’s a pink Pokemon..but let’s be honest here the entire top 5 is pink coloured! It’s fairy Pokémon after all!. Of all the Island guardians though I feel Tapu Lele embodies the type the best Along with Tapu Fini they have this pixie like feel that I think my blogging bestie would be deeply able to appreciate! I love how she is depicted in the anime and psychic terrain is superior to Fini’s fairy type field.

The pokédex entry for Tapy Lele is very strange. It is being called a very cruel pokémon and lacks the ability to feel guilt about her cruel actions. Which is something you do not seem to suspect from such a lovely looking creature! When we look up what she does however it only gets stranger. Firstly.. let’s delve into what drives her.. what fuels her cruel nature! Well it’s the scent of the flowers of Akala island of course. What does it do with that energy?! It heals the people and pokemon of Akala island but gives them her shiny scales that have these healing properties. This is also what she does in the anime, where she fights to defend the Alola league and later in an exhibition match she even heals Tapu Koko and Ash with her scales. That does not seem evil now does it?! Well a bit of a research shows that she REALLY likes healing people and covers people with these scales because she thinks it is pretty and fun! I am going with her here.. because that’s how I see the pokémon.. sorry it has a very femine energy!  Humans and Pokémon sometimes have a bit of trouble handling more scales than one and suffer overdose effects. Tapu Lele doesn’t really care because it’s too much fun to spread it’s sparkles around!  Odd!

With Tapu Lele being a legendary pokemon there is no real use in giving a battle set but it is usually used as a revenge killer. That means it swaps into something that has taken damage already to finish it off. For this reason the de facto item to equip it with would be a choice sash. Psyshock is nowadays preferred over psychic since it can attack the lower defensive stat which is usually better than psychics dedicated hit towards special.  It runs moonblast for Same type attack bonuses and then should be given Shadowball to cover it’s ghost type weakness. Focus Blast or Hidden Power fire can deal with it’s own Steel Type Weakness with focus blast being more unreliable but dealing way more damage. Since Lele is a revenge killer though and the enemy normally will have taken damage already and it’s special attack is great at 130, I personally think hidden power fire is the better of the two!

Fairy Type # 4 Jigglypuff

The Pokémon Mallow will strangle me for putting so high onto the list. But Jigglypuff is here for a simple reason! It is so super iconic that I had to put it on. Now do not get me wrong, I do find the anime Jigglypuff to be rather annoying myself but in Alola it finally got closure to it’s arc making it one of the few pokémon that got a narrative arc spanning over several seasons that came to a conclusion. That is commendable and an achievement. Besides that Jigglypuff is  probably my favourite character in Super Smash Bros Ultimate and most of the Super Smash games! I know it probably is not a high tier character but I love using it very much! Especially against 7 other Jigglypuff in the Classic Donkey Kong stage: 75m. It’s the most fun I ever had with Smash and even if my joy comes from outside the main franchise it Jigglypuff is amazing in Pokémon Snap as well.. being chased by that Koffing in one of the later stages! With it giving a performance at the end of the stage! It is a great pokémon and one of the most iconic fairy Type Pokémon out there.

What can I say here that people do not know yet about Jigglypuff?! It’s pokédex entries tell what everyone in the entire world knows about it! It has cute eyes.. and if it sings a song you will fall asleep! Eight generations of pokédex entries have not changed that at all.  What you might not know is how it works. Jigglypuff has the ability to sing in a range that exceeds 12 octaves. That range is boosted by the fact that it can manipulate it’s soundwaves and can match them to your brainwaves thus  directly making you drowsy. A jigglypuff song is so potent that cd’s with it’s sounds are sold near the bedding department ..just hearing a bit causes people to want to buy beds and hearing a lot.. well you all saw the anime. Jigglypuff’s lung capacity is insanely large. It just seems to be able to keep singing until his last opponent has fallen asleep. The song they sing isn’t always the one we see in the anime though! The song varies per region and in some regions in the world it would almost seem as if they are shouting! I bet that regional variant has a metal subtype!

The best way to run jigglypuff is with the moves, Sing, Mega Punch, Rollout and Rest then use his ability to grow larger on the battlefield to quickly defeat your opponents!  That is right I am talking about the Super Smash Bros Jigglypuff here! In the main game  running a Wigglytuff is fine but given that Igglybuff became a thing in the second generation there is no true format where Jigglypuff as a pokémon can truly shine. So just have fun with it in Smash Brothers! Rest is very hard to use but if you can use it consistently against your lesser skilled friends  it is amazing! Causing Knockouts at very low damage! Mega Punch is just fun to use! Hearing Jigglypuff’s determination! PUFF! PUFF! PUFF!  As you use it in rapid  succession!  Sing is a great way to get in  close enough to be able to use Rest on them and finish them off and Rollout can be lots of fun if you manage to keep the control a bit. It really is a trooper that can deal some serious damage.. even if it’s not in an actual Pokémon game!

Fairy Type # 3 Slurpuff

So from here on out these are absolutely my three favourite fairy type pokémon! Slurpuff has the honour of being my favourite physical attacking  Pokémon so in it’s own way it already is a winner! I adore both Swirlix and Slurpuff! They are goofy, pink and adorable!  Their evolution item the Whipped Dream is my favourite evolution item of the game and due to the amazing magic that is pokémon fan games I got to use a Slurpuff during a gameplay run as well. I named it Coolio and it was amazing! An absolute hero of my team! In fact Coolio pulled me almost that entire game and I became very attached to it! The love never faded though.  During the 24 hour Glimwood Tangle lifestream when I first saw a Swirlix I got so excited that I knocked my drinks over! Coolio-two would be a thing and even though it did not end up being named Coolio-two and was named Giga-Puddi..  as I loved to Dynamax it I had my second Slurpuff!  It shows up on Pokémon Showdown fairly regularly as well so this one is a keeper!

Slurpuff is an amazing pokémon that hasn’t been around for that long! It existed only since Gen VI , or the Kalos region so not a lot is known about this pokémon! By far the cutests fact is that its fur is filled with air so it is super soft to the touch and much lighter than it looks! It is airy, nice and huggable. What it is best known for however is that its  nose is 100.000.000 x more sensitive  than that of a human. This means it can pick up even the faintest smells. While dorkly made it suffer for it in a funny sketch , there is no actual dark lore for it in any pokédex entry. It seems to love helping out the pastry chefs of Kalos with it’s amazing nose! Making sure the pastries are finely tweaked!  It is so good at smelling that it can smell when people are sick and scientists and Slurpuff are working together to use this skill to develop all sorts of medical breakthroughs!  Slurpuffs nose is so perceptive that it almost can see a completely different world with its nose!  I imagine it is a bit like Daredevils sight ..but with smells instead of sounds!


Slurpuff loves to eat berries in combat because it’s main ability is Unburden.. something that boosts it’s speed when an item is lost. The combo that is pretty much used by everyone is along with the move Belly Drum! A move that cuts your hp in half but that instantly maxes out the attack stat to 4x its original value! Slurpuff does need to use this move because it’s attack  is only a lackluster ish 80 but after Bellydrum it is a scary 320!  With unburden boosting it’s speed and moves like Drain Punch to recover its health and  Play Rough for a powerful physical STAB this pokémon means game over for your opponent if they do not have a counter!  Coolio and I have gathered many victories using this tech and Giga Puddi , while I never used it online kicked some Gym Leader ass with this set! Against a skilled opponent  you may not find success..but if you do get success with it, you almost have a guaranteed win!

Fairy Type # 2 Alcremie

So this one hurts me a bit!  While I love Sylveon over any pokémon in the world, as for a single pokémon I have never loved a Pokémon more than Whippy the Alcremie. Whippy came to me early in my playthrough of Shield and even if it is the most generic strawberry, right-spin whipped Alcremie I love it so much! The sounds that it makes , the goofy smile when I call it over at a pokémon camp, the way it eats! Heck even the way it’s eyes go viciously angry when it wants to attack the cat scratchy thing!  I could have used a Sylveon but I did that a million times! Shield was Whippy’s moment!  I started my journey with a Sobble.. but he got boxed after he fully evolved. I  had a cute little Wooloo but that got boxed as well. Yamper was the only other pokémon that predated Whippy on my team.. and that one got boxed when I obtained Toxel. So Whippy  was the only Pokémon to accompany me from the first gym until the championship match! I haven’t played the DLC yet as I want to do both in one go but Whippy will be the first to eat the Gigantamax Curry! I love it very much and I gave it a lot of brothers and sisters since.. but none I love more than Whippy!

Alcremie has so many forms that it in a SINGLE generation has as many pokédex entries as most Gen I pokémon!  Most of them are fairly interchangeable depending on how you evolve it, which means when you make your character spin , what direction you make them spin, how hard you make them spin etc. It determines what flavour your Alcremie has. Pokédex entries define these flavours.  The flavours are : Vanilla, Ruby, Mint, Lemon Salted,  Ruby Swirl, Caramel Swirl and Rainbow Swirl! So this is the tastiest pokémon out there.. but also a very weird one to evolve. Given that there are quite a few decorations there are 63 possible ways to make your Alcremie look.. excluding the shiny I think! When it is Gigantamaxed Alcremie changes from a dollop of cream to a Giant birthday cake that fires Missiles of cream at their opponents. Each of them contain roughly 100.000 kilocategories and getting hit by one of those will make your head swim! Now that is one heck of an Epic Mealtime! When an Alcremie loves it’s trainer it will bring them berries/fruit they have decorated with whip cream.. so it’s just such a cutie! Oh  and in case you wonder.  the cake part of allcremie is not made out of batter.. no it’s hardened cream! So only the tastiest part of the cake as a Kaiju! What is there not to love!

Alcremie is not a slouch in terms of offense or defence either. With it’s special attack being at 110 and special defence being 120 it is a perfect pokémon to use Calm Mind in combat which buffs both these stats! Alcremie you see is more so a tank! With Dazzling Gleam as its same type offensive move and recovery to regain health it can outlast a great many opponents. The final move you add to it is of your preference. Mystical Fire is a good shoutout as it can cover it’s metal weakness! Alcremie has a very special Gigantamax move though, it’s move G-Max Finale not only allows it to recover ⅙ of its total health, so do its allies! Thus with a moveset like this Alcremie becomes a tank that can also apply a lot of offensive pressure. It lacks a bit of type diversity in it’s learnable movepool but for a wall role pokémon you get a pretty sweet deal if you side with alcremie!

My Favourite Pokémon: Sylveon

That is right! Not only is this my favourite Pokémon this is also my favourite pokémon of all time! That being said.. Alcremie is also my second favorite of all time! Unlike other pokémon with Eevee I am not likely to give it a nickname! While I mostly go for Sylveon sometimes I accidentally end up with other evolutions so most of my Sylveons end up being Sylveon the Sylveon. Yet since I hoard them so much they aren’t as dear to me AS Whippy!  I love them a lot and they love me a lot.. as that is the whole point of Sylveon. It’s about love! That is what makes it the greatest pokémon in the world. It evolves because it loves you….while knowing a fairy type move! It is cute, it has an adorable cry I can recognise anywhere, it is pink and I identify with this pokémon!  I want to cosplay Sylveon Gijinka before I die…I don’t think Alcremie Gijnka is a good idea.. though I can see that being fun with a girlfriend or something! Where Alcremie is my favourite pet.. sylveon is more than that.. it is my soul. It is my Blue Eyes White dragon, my Kamehameha! Sylveon is MY pikachu. It’s eyes, it’s ribbons I love everything about it’s design and it is probably the strongest Eeveelution in battle.. closely followed by Umbreon.. but hey Fairy is Super effective against dark.. so I win!

I have spread my “My Little Pony” beliefs here before! Friendship is magic!  I am a pacifist and believe that we fix the world not by fighting injustice but by creating happy places so we can stomach those injustices. I do not believe in a perfect world but I do believe in us creating our own little piece of heaven. Our own little perfect PLACE.  We can not always be there but we can try to reduce the toxicity in the world through kindness rather than through zeal.  Sylveon embodies that idea too. It uses its feelers.. which feel like ribbons but are actually it’s flesh to reduce hostile feelings in it’s targets. It wants to stop conflict! Except when facing cruel dragons like Hydreigon! When It knows nothing else can be done a Sylveon will jump into the frey and pound that dragon until it is defeated. Dragons are often a metaphor for obstacles people put in their own way and while Sylveon shows us that we should not fight others.. It teaches us it is important to fight our own demons . It loves us.. so we are lovable! We are worth fighting for!  When Sylveon walks with its trainer it wraps it’s ribbons around their arms as if you are walking with a very important person you love by your side. Showing that love does not have to come in shape, ways or forms. Loving a partner, loving a pokémon and loving family is all love! None is better than the other! Love is a deep friendship and as we know.. friendship is magic!

In combat Sylveon has seen a fair bit of use. Most commonly with its ability Pixielate, which turns any normal type into Fairy Types. This is often used to make its move Hyper Voice into a Same Type attack boosted move that pierces substitutes.  With 110 Special Attack and  130 special defence it basically can do what Alcremie does . However Sylveon has a more offensive presence. As a result you can equip it with moves like  Hidden Power Ground, Calm Mind and Shadowball along with Hyper Voice to make it more offensive. You can also turn it into a toxic staller like Umbreon by giving it toxic , protect and wish. Both sets are very viable though the offensive set is a whole lot more fun to use in non competitive gameplay. The fact that Sylveon can both be used as a wall and a sweeper makes it harder to counter than Alcremie. Hidden Power ground covers both of its weaknesses and if your opponent prepares for the wrong Sylveon.. they might make mistakes from which they can’t recover.. making Sylveon more mindgamey than most of the fairy types on this list and I love myself some mind games!

Sylveon embodies an ideal to me! It signifies me as a pokémon trainer, how I would be in the pokémon world. It has sweet lore, it has stellar design and it is even still pretty usable in battle. It does everything a good pokémon needs to do! I love pokémon! I love all 896 of them! That is right even the new Reggies and Calyrex are included, but none of them I love as much as Sylveon. At the end of this 18 blog post adventure I have written about 90! of my favourite  pokémon. Shouted out little more than half of that so even amongst the .. let’s say 150 I love most Sylveon .. and Whippy as well take a special irreplaceable place in my heart.
They mean a lot to me.. almost as if they are existing friends that always make me happy!
Pokémon like Mew and Bulbasaur will probably accompany them in my all time favourites but no matter how much I will play! I will always be most connected to Sylveon!

And that wraps up this series! It took me nearly half a year to finish this including all the times we had to skip a week!  Yet now it is finally done!  Now you know what my favourite pokémon! Snowy and the Seven Spoink (Part 1)

Fairy-type tales time my sweet little monsters! When you read  this you will most likely be celebrating that you made it through another week of work. So to unwind we will retell a story that was first published in 1812. Written by the brothers Grimm, adapted by Disney in a classic we all love and requested by Raist, a loyal little monster who has been following this blog for a while now! Click on his name to go to his very own blog where he talks about some amazing geek stuff! But without further ado, today we have converted the tale of Snow White and the seven dwarfs. Today Pinkie Cherryblossom presents you: Snowy and the Seven Spoink Part 1 This one will be split into two parts because there is a lot to tell!

Chapter 1: The best value

in a realm very different than ours there lived a king named Ditto!. He was a good and noble king, who had many wives over his life.. Many Maaaaany wives! Yet none he loved so much as his second to last Ninetales. They loved playing together all the time and then one day an egg had suddenly appeared. From this egg came a little Vulpix, whose fur was white as snow, her eyes a mesmerising cobalt blue and when she would sing joyfully a aurora veil would appear dyeing any room she would appear in with beautiful lights. Because she was so different from her mother, and all the other vulpix they decided to name her Snowy. Disaster struck through when Snowy’s mother  disappeared. The kings sibling Ditto, informed him of some grave news. It saw the queen get captured by a human. The king and Snowy alike were devastated by this loss. In an attempt to give Snowy a good  home King Ditto remarried. He managed to find a Ninetales that looked exactly like her mother exactly like his beloved wife. Yet Snowy always knew, the new ninetales was cold and mean and did not really seem to love the king. She spent most of her time in her own room looking and admiring herself. She was never there for the king, not even when he got sick. Even the best Audino and Chansey in the land could not heal the king, until eventually he fainted. Snowy was all alone now, her stepmother shed but a single tear at the funeral.. and even that one looked fake. The queen  withdrew into her quarters again.

The private quarters of the queen were very different than the rest of King Ditto’s palace, it was dark and gloomy, a cauldron bubbling in the back, a very odd somewhat drafty bookcase and stack of pillows where Ninetales slept without her husband.  Yet none of these where the items the queen had come here for today. She came here for the item she always came for, the item hanging on her wall. It was an LED display, framed by red plastic. rectangular in shape. Yet the red plastic had a downward crescent shape at the top, and in the middle of its highest point a single red spike would arise. Right above the display it had two closed eyelids. Two protrusions on the either side formed what looked like arms both having a button at the end.  This was the queen’s most cherished secret and prized possession as she scraped her throat and addressed it. Magic Rotom Dex on the wall, who is the most valuable pokémon of them all?! The Rotom would open its eyes and spoke. Alolan Vulpix has some great individual values, while Decidueye scores great on effort values, but none have them so well combined as you my queen! You are the best pokémon out there now that King Ditto is gone’. Ninetales saw her own picture appear on the Rotom Dex and grinned menacing. 

Chapter 2: Snowy and the Huntsman

A year would pass since the death of the king and much like Ash Ketchum, Snowy did not seem to have aged a day. She was playing on the castle grounds after she was done with all her chores. She wanted to go discover new places of the castle to play in. She discovered some stairs down, it was guarded by Decidueye. An owl like pokémon that had seen many battles and was very strong through experience.  He worked for her step-mother but they always good along. ‘Hi huntsman can I go play down there’ Snowy would ask cheerfully’ The Pokémon looked at her from trough red glasses, his leafed cowl would shake telling her no. He straightened his tall white body and puffed up his beige feathered wings he could use as bows , to look a bit more intimidating. ‘ No Snowy you can not, has your mother never told you? This used to be a place called the dungeons, though there were a lot of mysteries in there to explore before, we had a cave in.. just before former queen Ninetales disappeared. We suspect it was the humans! They must have set traps which destroyed those subterranean levels, and your mother told me to guard this area and not even let you in’  Snowy puffed up her cheeks and said ‘she’s not my mother’ The owl gave Snowy a headpat before winking at her. ‘But you know they say somewhere in the castle there is a palace that still leads into the dungeons, if you are really brave’ Snowy got all excited ‘Do you know where it HM?’ she said while bucking in excitement. HM was a her way of addressing the huntsman, it felt more personal that way. The huntsman laughed and said ‘I do not ..but tell you what if you are a good girl and go play outside, I will keep my EYE out for you’.  Snowy nodded excited and dashed of to go play outside. The huntsman chuckled, while wondering if it had actually been a good idea to tell her about this, he hated to see her sad though she had been through so much already.

While playing outside Vulpix wandered of into the wilds, she went to her favorite spot in the woods. For some reason there was an opening in the forest where huge wooden constructions would rest. Large wooden X shapes with a wooden surface on top.  To the side of each of these X’es would aos be to lower smaller wooden surfaces. HM once told me they were called “picnic tables’ She liked it because sometimes, food wood randomly appear on this spot. This time as well. A brown container lay on the ground holding some pallets that smelled like Nanab berries  lay on the floor. It was labeled C-A-L-C-I-U-M. Vulpix had no idea what it was but she would eat it anyway..it smelled really good and as she ate the Calcium pallets she felt herself being more healthy and even a bit stronger then before.

The queen was ready for her ritual again, having entered her room again a wailing on the wind can be heard from her bookcase. She ignored this and went straight to the item she cherished so much, that what would confirm she was still the most valuable  pokémon. ‘Magic Rotom Dex on the wall, who is the most valuable of us all?’ she said once more.
Rotom Dex awoke a bit grumpy. ‘Like I told you before your huntsman has great EV’s ..but you are…… wait…… Alolan Vulpix has gotten a fair bit of effort values and now is the strongest of you all. She outclasses you in both Individual as Effort values and…’  the rom was interrupted as the queen sent a powerful hex towards it causing it to flicker for a bit!|
‘Huntsman I need to speak to you now! I got a job for’ the queen said while storming towards the throne room.

Chapter 3: A bad day to be a swinub!

‘‘HUNTSMAN!!!!’  The queen stormed into the throneroom seeing the decidueye bow to her. ‘I have a job for you’  she hissed coldly. ‘Anything for my queen’ was the answer she got prompting a cruel smirk from her mouth. ‘You need to kill Snowy.. that brat has become an eyesore I need her gone… bring her into the woods tonight and bring me her heart so I may devour it’.  The huntsman went silent , cold sweat appearing on his face. After a while he began to stammer. ‘M–m-my q-q-queen she’s s young… i am sure’ ‘I AM A FIRE TYPE with ghost moves .. fail me.. and you will die… and I will show your wife your fainted corpse’. Decidueye seemed to mostly scare of the last part.  ‘Y-You wouldn’t .. please my queen’ Ninetales laughed cruelly ‘she will not mourn you after I show her… she will hate you’ ‘I…I…I shall do as you wish my queen’.  With a flourish of his wings the huntsman went out standing at the drawbridge waiting for Snowy to return.

The alolan vulpix was on her way back to the castle, she wasn’t allowed to play outside at dark, well her father never allowed her too, stepmother couldn’t care less, but Snowy would honour her father’s rules. Seeing HM standing at the drawbridge she bucked a bit in joy to tell him about her adventure today.  She ran towards him ‘Hi HM … I found some really tasty pellets today, they were super jummy and i feel super excited’ . The owl looked to the ground. ‘Snowy.. I … need you .. to show me where they were…. I’m….eager… to see… if there is more’. The vulpix tilted her head ‘you sound sad.. is everything alright?’ The bird shivered ‘Just do what I ask’.  Snowy a bit scared by his sadness figured some pellets would cheer him up however so she ran in front of him singingly. A small little aurora veil would appear. Reaching the picnic tables again, Decidueye flew up and set on one’s ledge. ‘I am sorry Snowy… the queen has ordered you to die’ said the owl while nooking one of his arrows and pointing it at Snowy.

Tears began to brim from her eyes. ‘But I don’t wanna die.. please HM.. we are friends right… don’t do this?’ Vulpix was frozen in fear she could not go anywhere, by now the moonlight was bouncing of the huntsman giving him a very intimidating look … teared up eyes staring at her and the point of his arrow glimmering when suddenly the arrow began to shake heavily. “I …. I can’t do it, but your moth……the queen she will come after you….. I will distract her Snowy… but you have to run and never come back… leave now… run’! Decidueye shot an arrow  close to her paws to scare her away. the vulpix crazed by fear dashed of crying big tears of fear and feeling betrayed, he was her friend , he just tried to kill her, but he helped her as well. Her thoughts raced through her heads.. Maybe the queen killed her father as well, that is a very scary tree, where will she go… would she die?
With this storm of thoughts while constantly moving she had no idea where she was going, the only thing she knew was it was away from the castle. 
Decidueye collapsed to the ground, he would die now.. the queen would certainly kill him. His wife would know his terrible secret. He had to come up with a plan of sorts, a way to make sure the queen doesn’t find snowy, a way that she doesnt find out. He would have to find a way to trick her. Suddenly there was some rustling in the bushes.  A swinub came out to greet him. ‘ Hello friend, who are you? My name is Swinub… OINK… I saw you fell of that mighty hight thing there and thought you might need help! OiNK! How about some berries OINK! I do not mind sharing mine with a new friend’. The little pig had a bit of an annoyingly high pitched voice it seemed very excited at the sight of a new pokemon though. The decidueye looked at it and sighed ‘You can help me,  you are an ice type right?’
The pig jumped in excitement! ‘Oink! That is correct friend! I know I might be super effective against your grass type.. but I have no desire to fight my new best friend! OINK!’ The decidueye spread his wings and looked at the Swinub with a sad look. “I need you to give me something, I need to present my queen’

That is where we leave part one. In the next one Snowy will  reach our other titular friends and we can hopefully conclude this story! What secrets do the Queen and Decidueye have, will our little heroine get her happily ever after or will the Queen’s type advantage let her regain the best IV’s and EV’s?  Find out next week! Fairy-Type Tales: The Little Popplio

My sweet little monsters, it is friday again so that means that today I am writing fanfiction. Today I will be taking a break from my dystopian  cyberpunk pokemon tale.As it is based on the Pokémon RP campaign I run , this is a story that is heavily tied in with people. I had a bit of a run-in with some of these recently, leading to the fact that the subject matter for now is a bit blemished for me. I’d rather do something else for you all. So starting today I will retell some classic fairy tales featuring my favorite franchise. Told in fable like format, one could argue these are set in the universe of the mystery dungeon series. This means Pokémon live in houses and can talk to one another. Humans will still be a thing but take a backseat in this one. The first classic story we will retell is “The Little Mermaid” by Hans Christian Andersen. The mermaid’s role will be filled in by one of my favorite starters Popplio.

Chapter 1: A Wish from deep within
Popplio was swimming to a wreck, looking for shiny or round stuff to play with. Even though she had four sisters, Popplio, Popplio, Popplio and Popplio  she at times could feel a bit lonely. Her sisters had always find her odd for preferring to use her Disarming Voice, over Round. Both were moves they could learn, with Round being a team based one. This little Popplio however thought it might find a trainer if it ran Disarming Voice instead, revealing it’s potential typing should it ever evolve early. Her sisters did not want to be captured however, no one here would. She was the only one that wanted to leave the oceans and travel across the lands, searching far and wide, to find that piece she had been missing in her life. To fill that emptiness that was inside.
Popplio loved the toys humans made and in these sunken ships there were some real treasures she would collect. Eventually the little seal, not to be confused with seel, found the kid’s room. Ignoring the scattered bones Popplio swam under the decayed overgrown bed. ‘Jackpot’! She pushed the toy from underneath her bed using her nose,it was this ufo shaped device with a large stick growing out it’s top, that looked it could be pressed. It also had a solid round found the UFO shape rested on. Pressing the stick down with it’s tale, the ufo began to spin, creating some bubbles around Popplio, it giggled and kept playing with it, wondering how it would work above the water. While playing with this humming top,  two menacing looking eelektrik swam in. The blueish eel pokemon had luminescent yellow dots all across their body and a round yellow eye, their mouth featured a four ways parting beak surrounded by rust coloured lips that were matched in their tailfins. ‘Hey little one’ began one of them sounding like a heavy  male smoker would sound in our world. ‘You like these toys? Would you not want to play with them on the surface?’ Popplio stopped playing, hearing that it had always wanted to hear, not afraid of these new menacing creatures it nodded…and pressed the humming top one more time. ‘The mistress of the abyss can help you, just come see her at the shiny red kelp’ The eel monster dashed off with its twin in tow immediately after, as if they had heard something to startle them.  Soon after Popplio heard two of her friends shouting her name, she sighed and swam outside with the humming top on her back.

Chapter 2: King Primarina
‘Popplio where are you girl’ Krabby clamoured, being followed by a searching looking Finneon’
Krabby was your standard crab like looking pokémon while finneon resembled a tropical guppy fish. It’s aquamarine and dark blue stripes made it hard to spot, but if you knew it was there you could easily focus on the pink details. ‘I am here Krabby’ Popplio said annoyed. ‘Girl ya father gonna be maaaaaaad’ Krabby said while snapping it’s claw in a sassy way. ‘King Primarina ain’t liking this.. no he ain’t at all’ Popplio just glared at the crab and said ‘My sister just wanted to sing again so I just went to go play by myself, look what I found?!’ The krabby stared at the humming top and sighed. ‘Girl why do ya wanna go up there, can’t you see how good you have it here?, Let me sing you a song’.  Just as some oddly familiar song began to set in a sharpedo with a tie approached , holding some kind of document. Finneon read it and asked ‘What is a Disney and why is it making us stop singing?’ The shark grinned ‘It’s everything…. and you can sing if you pay, if you don’t my brother is also a good lawyer…he will help you for a price’. The Sharpedo swam off laughing after handing out the cease order. 
The trio returned home without song, King Primarina’s castle look magnificent as always, but the sight was marred by a very angry looking King Primarina. He was a very feminine looking king, who compensated by wearing a kelp beard which was totally not a matching colour of his waving locks, made even worse by the fact that he was a shiny of his kind, resulting in long blond manes and the big dark green kelp beard just made him look silly.
‘You missed dinner! The cook made drowned Aguav berries’  the father said to her daughter angrily. ‘You’ve been looking at human stuff again! Arceus be damned with you child.. I am sorry but I will make you give up this obsessions, humans will eat you!’  As Popplio already began to sob her father launched a Moonblast attack aiming it straight at the humming top which exploded into a thousand pieces. ‘Daddy no” Popplio whined but it was too late, the king swam up to her room and destroyed all the human toys it had gathered. In a fit of rage Popplio swam off as fast as she could, as her father aimed a Moonblast to knock her out, he found out he was out of PP, losing track of Popplio as she disappeared in a chasm. ‘She’ll be back, she must learn, if she keeps this dream her heart will be broken’ The king sighed and swam back inside the palace. Finneon ate a bit of kelp from his beard.
While Popplio swam crying over her lost toys she began to notice she had no idea where she was. ‘I am lost’ she realised, frantically swimming around to see if she could recognise anything, her search proved to be unfruitful. Just as Popplio was about to cry again her attention was drawn by some red luminescent kelp in front of a cave.

Chapter 3: A deal with the sea witch.
Maybe they can help me , Popplio thought  while swimming through the cave, a Mareanie  was feasting on some Corsola remains scaring the young Pokémon.  Proceeding to swim further inside the princess began to notice a lot of Pyukumuku here. Oval shaped pokemon with a white star shaped mouth, and a fluffy bunny tail. Pink irregular protrusions rose from the creatures upper backs their eyes being bland pink dots without much expression. Yet Popplio felt these all were sad. Eventually the cave began to open up in a central room. The two eels from earlier were there spiralling around a ominous looking Malamar. The body of a reversed squid, its head being formed out of  cluster of smaller tentacles. With black eyes and golden irises against the hyacinth coloured head along with the wine coloured bird beak her appearance was nothing less than horrifying. Popplio dove into a corner. ‘Oh don’t be scared little one, said an androgynous voice that sounded full of sarcasm and cold heartedness (compare it to the english dubbed voice of Frieza from Dragon Ball Z). ‘I am here to help you little one’ The Malamar calmly waded to Popplio putting one of her pale tentacles on Popplio’s “shoulders’ The upper part of the tentacle was the same deep magenta of her beak.  ‘My little friends here told me you want to go to the surface, but hopping like that, you can’t get very far land inward now can you?’ The Malamar flicked the tail a bit. ‘Oh no that won’t do.. but did you know that when you evolve, you can walk and hop on your tail quite well?’ The Malamar grinned maliciously as Popplio’s head shot up to look Malamar straight into the face, she hooked. ‘I can?’ Popplio was bewildered , this could make her wish come true. ‘Yes it can, and it would make you more popular to catch! I can make you evolve you know… if we sign a contract, you can find a trainer!’ Malamar grinned as her plans began to come to fruition. ‘A contract, what for?’ Popplio asked, her little heart beating wildly in her chest. ‘Oh nothing to worry about dear, I just live to see your wish come true.. so I must make sure you pursue it… so I will make you evolve and you have five days to find a trainer, if you succeed, you can stay a Brionne forever… if you don’t … i’ll turn you into one of my pyukumuku over there. But I am gonna be TOTALLY honest with you, what trainer would not like a Brionne, you’ll be caught in no time.’ Popplio, still naive at her level, saw nothing wrong and agreed to the deal. ‘Then there is only the issue of payment dear…I do not want  a lot, just your Baby Doll eyes’. The little seal flinched ‘you want my eyes’. Malamar laughed ‘Oh goodness dear no.. I want your move.. Baby Doll eyes, you will just forget it.. I will learn it done deal.’ Malamar extended her tentacle and Popplio not seeing any harm in this shook it with her fin. ‘Now you look like eleven or so am I right’ the witched asked. ‘Yes Madamme, almost twelve’ Popplio said proudly. Malamar rummaged in a cabinet to find find six spheres wrapped in some sort of blue paperlike substance. ‘Here eat these and your wish shall come true’ As Popplio was eating the sweet tasting orbs, Malamar threw a heart scale in a cooking pot and chanted a spell and *poof* Popplio forgot how to use Babydoll Eyes. As she ate the last candy she began to glow in a bright white light

Chapter 4: Catch her then.
Brionne woke up on the beach, the sound of the breaking waves filling her with a sense of joy. What was less pleasant was the sounds next to her where the sassy krabby had already found her. ‘Girlfriend you did NOT just evolve, you be six level short I know because I told  Finneon,, that girl aint gonna evolve..cause she just learned Baby Doll Eyes, so she is long off.. yes I did’ Krabby snapped with its paw every time it spoke. ‘I went to the sea witch, she helped me’ Brionne confessed. Krabby made an over dramatic gasp. ‘Oh Abyss no!, that’s a bad idea, she gonna turn you into a Pyukumuku with that Voodoo woo she does’ Krabby kept snapping sassily.
‘No , because I am gonna find a trainer, I got give days to find a trainer, that will be plenty because I am a Brionne now’  Krabby went silent for a moment looking sad. ‘Dear , your father never told you this to protect you but the Popplio line is VERY disliked by trainers. They just think you look stupid and think Brionne is the worst one.. I am afraid you got tricked by that witch. As Krabby moved in for a comforting hug it was blasted way by an Aqua Jet headbutt. ‘No, this is another of fathers tricks, trainers will love me I know it, I don’t want to be a Pyukumuku’
Brionne began to hop away. “Bri wait!’ Krabby said sighting tiredly. ‘I’ll help you find a trainer if that’s what you really want.
And so after getting another court mandate from Disney to prevent yet another spoof of a song, the days began to pass by as the pair began to look for a trainer for the seal in a dress.Krabby was right,  a few people tried to catch him but no one went for Brionne. No matter how hard they tried, most would not even look at them. Once she even jumped in front of a Pokéball that was aimed at Krabby, though she did get captured the trainer released her right away. With a heavy heart Brionne and Krabby watched the sunset on the fourth day together, tomorrow would be her final chance. Krabby said goodbye to Brionne telling he would go back to the Kingdom to get her some help, not wanting to be a Pyukumuku Brionne agreed.
Meanwhile Malamar’s Eelektrik came back with an item they found on the surface for their queen.  Malamar laughed maniacally. ‘Finally with this item, I can take down King Primarina and claim this sea as my own!’ As her eels placed it against a wall her tentacle pulled away the cloth that was protecting the item revealing a mirror. ‘Henchman 1 stand before me’ the queen ordered her aptly named fishy servant. The eelektrik obeyed just to get hit by Baby Doll Eyes used by Malamar. ‘I feel so weak.. my strength is leaving me…’ The Eel whined as it’s strength was continuously being drained away until it became too weak to even  breath.
Henchman 2  now fearing for his life begged to be spared ‘Oh I am not going to use this on you’ the Queen said with a malicious grin on her face. She moved to the mirror past the , now floating eel, and used the move on herself.

Chapter 5: Hau about a final battle
‘Hey there little one, you look like you had a rough night’ was the first thing Brionne heard that day. Brionne opened her eyes and saw a dark skinned boy, wearing orange shorts and a black t-shirt.  His hair to about the length of his bangs a bit longer in the back kempt backwards and tied in a knot. ‘Would you like some malasada’ the boy would ask putting the bun meets pancake like object next to the Pokémon. Brionne sniffed the bun and ate it, it was the most delicious thing she ever had. ‘Thank you so much mister what’s your name’  she asked the boy. He smiled at her ‘You like that huh,, are you asking for more?’ The boy clearly could not really understand her, but hey she would not mind more, if she ate it like a good girl she might get captured by this one. ‘I am Hau by the way, it’s nice to meet you Brionne’ the boy now having introduced himself made quite a impression on Brionne, he knew her name! Hau placed another treat in front of her and played with her tossing over a hacky sack Brionne had the day of her life with this boy it was so fun,  finally she could play. The sun was already beginning to lower in the sky when Hau finally asked her that all important question. ‘Brionne do you have a trainer?’ The Pokémon shook her head frantically and just about when Hau was gonna ask that all important follow up question, it all went wrong. 
Krabby arose from the shore she spent the night at.. looking battle damaged beyond belief. ‘Brionne… it’s horrible… the kingdom it’s under attack… it’s Malamar… she became like super strong, do you know what could have happened?’ Brionne began to panic ‘What is father in danger? I don’t know… all she got from me was Baby Doll Eyes.. but that doesn’t make you stronger it makes people weaker’ Krabby gasped. ‘You Foolish girl , don’t you know Malamar has the Contrary ability whatever would weaken her would make her stronger instead’ Brionne felt an icy grab around her heart.. she did this… she had finally found a trainer but now her father would die because of what she did! She had to stop Malamar somehow. ‘What is it girl.. is this a friend of yours, it looks like he is in trouble, can we help?’ Hau just smiled warmly to both, applying a potion to Krabby. Brionne and Krabby were stunned by the man’s kindness but there was no time to dawdle, Brionn pointed to a spot at sea. While she was getting in the water, Hau called for a Pokémon ride and jump on the Lapras to chase after her. Meanwhile, the king was trying to fight of this intensely powerful Malar, though his Moon Blasts could keep her at bay, one hit would surely knock him out so he had to sacrifice most of his power points to keep distance between them. Soon he would lose this battle, he just hoped he had given his daughters enough time to evacuated. A cry of Popplio would distract him for just long enough, as he looked back he saw one of his daughters being zapped by one of the eels.  This gave Malamar enough time to slap him with a tendril of darkness, knocking off his kelp beard. Even though it was not very effective , as powerful as Malar was now it was enough to knock him out. The king rose to the surface.. chased by Malamar.. she would finish him and psycho cut him in half in front of all his citizens, that would show them who is the new ruler.
At the surface Hau, Brionne and Krabby had just arrived where the city was down below, arriving at exactly the right time to see the unconscious and beardless king. Malamar quickly followed in pursuit. ‘Woah that thing is huge’ Hau said.  Brionne rushed to her father but was slapped away by the sheer force of a tentacle hitting the water between her and her father, for once Splash did a lot! ‘Brionne watch out’ Hau shouted. ‘Here take this’ Hau tossed her a crystal that she missed as it began to sank. Malamar looked at the Brionne and scoffed’ A little Brionne thinks she can stop me? You made me! You gave me the thone! I knew no one liked a Brionne and with five days I had plenty of time to set up my scheme.. and you fell for it.. letting your selfish desires make a deal with evil! Now watch as your silly wish will end up destroying your father, the the last person that loves you or ever would, will have died’.
Brionne looked defeated, Malamar was right, her father would die because of what she did, the humans were right, she was a horrible pokemon. ‘Whatever she says Brionne it’s not true.. now use Aqua Jet to chase after that crystal’ Hau shouted. He was right! Not the hag! Brionne would not fail here! Bravely she dove after the crystal, dodging Malamar’s massive tentacles, she found the crystal and picked it up, what was this thing?! As soon as she resurfaced she heard Hau shouting at her ‘Okay Brionne now let’s do this together’ Activating something that looks like a watch Hau extended his arms fists crossed, before bringing them back together in a heart pose he then would move his arms next to his body like fairy wins, lifted his left leg and made a little plié. Suddenly Brionne would feel a surge of energy going throughout her body, she felt like she was flying across the stairs as her world literally turned brighter and more colourful, her body moving completely on it’s own she was just being swept away empowered by fairy energy. As her body Twinkle Tackled the Malamar, a huge burst of starlight bursted at the point of impact, launching Malamar out of orbit. As Malamar disappeared beyond the horizon so did the last bit of sun. Brionne let herself began to sink..readying herself to be turned into a Pyukumuku because she was not captured she closed her eyes, after seeing Hau’s Rowlett from the sky dealing with those pesky eels. Everything went dark.

Chapter 6:  Traveling under the Sun and Moon
Pyukumuku got a bit unfcomfy on the beach where everyone had gathered. It was quickly drying out. Hau picked it up smiling and put it back into the water. ‘There you go little Fella , that must feel better right? Hau petted the pokémon and moved back to Brionne who knocked herself out from exertion.  She would wake up soon after that looking around the beach. She saw Hau who immediately tried to give her a malasada , her father who had now made a beard out of flotsam and Krabby who was snapping its claws as Sassy as ever. Finneon was playing with the Pyukumuku that had just been dropped in the water.  ‘Hey there sleepy head, you did so well we are all proud of you’ Hau said. King Primarina cleared his throat. ‘Brionne, were it not for you and this trainers bravery I would surely not be here anymore, sure you may think this is all your fault, which it kinda is, but the witch would have found a way to execute this ploy sooner or later. I did not trust trainers, but you and this young man have shown me pokémon and humans can live together and be stronger because of each other. I, King Primarina the manliest male Primarina will give you  permission to travel with Hau.’ The king nodded and pushed Hau towards his daughter a bit as if he was some kind of beach ball. ‘I think your mother’ Hau would get a tail slap in his face…. ‘PRRRRRRRRIIII”  ‘I mean your father, wants us to travel together, what do you say will you join Team Hau?’ The trainer held a pokéball in front of Brionne’s  snout. Her heart skipped a beat but once she recovered her pink little nose would touch the grey button on Hau’s capture device.
From then on Brionne would be as happy as she  possibly could, traveling through the Alola region defeating many trials and even participating in the Pokémon League. By night or by day, they would always be together battling with new friends , seeing new things. The king returned and rebuild his city, teaching his daughters to be more like Brionne. And they all lived happily ever after. Well at least until Disney decided to turn their story into a horrible  live action remake

Top 5: Favorite Pokémon Types

Since I aim to make this blog into a youtube channel one day, we can not escape clickbaity stuff. I am not sure if clickbait works for blogs but we sure as well might try.  I always think they are nice and fun reads. For a first one let’s discuss what Pokémon types I prefer raising.

Number 5: Fighting Types
The odd one out I guess would be my number five, I in general go heavy on the special attackers, those are generally less ‘mother-law-like’ when they evolve. Physical attackers tend to get very bulky and scary looking, much like my former mothers in law. But one of two physical types I actually really like is the fighting type. In Pokémon TCG it’s my main typing and there are some fighting types I truly adore. Mega-Medicham, Lucario and it’s mega Hawlucha and good old classic Hitmonchan are amongst my favorites of the type. Shiny Mega Lopunny as well..because pink! Yay! But the fighting type is such a good type, most fighting types learn elemental punches, giving them great coverage, and a lot of fighting type moves actually have quite unique mechanics. High Jumpkick for example is one of my favorite moves in the game, not just for its power but because of the high risk high reward. Moves like Low Kick, drain punch, power up punch , brick break and more result in so much possibilities with your fighting mons and you can just have so much fun with them. Easy to pick up, hard enough to master and featuring some very memorable designs this type certainly packs a punch. 

Number 4: Grass Types
No starter can ever beat Bulbasaur for me it was my first back, and whenever I can pick him now, I feel bad if I don’t. It gave me a big connection with the typing since I was just a sprout myself. It might be the type where I dislike the least amount of Pokémon in it’s typing line.
All grass types are quite enjoyable to me, I can hardly think of one. Perhaps Pansage and Simisage but in the latter’s case I quite enjoy it’s pompadour design.  Grass types are nice and versatile they being able to wall, status, heal, dot , weather or sweep. Their designs range widely and they often have some of the best shinies and take on nearly all secondary typings. In the Pokémon TCG, the grass type is usually widely supported with some interesting tactics as well and there are both cute and tough looking designs for everyone to enjoy. If you prefer sceptile like many or Lurantis like me?  In the world of Pokémon it IS easy being green.

Number 3: Normal Types
‘Okay Pinkie, you got to be kidding here? You actual favor the normal types? They are so lackluster, not super effective against anything and they are just soooo basic.’ Well yes, you are right, the normal type does feel a bit lackluster, but they are not useless they just need a little love. I love a lot of normal types, Ambipom, Blissey, Slaking, Snorlax, Exploud and Swellow belong to my all time favorites. They are just incredibly fun to run and raise in a gam. You can get normal types in all sorts and flavors. It’s not just plants and fish. From Gorillas to pink teddies, from a virtual duck to an ancient construct. Only weak to the fighting type they compensate by an immunity to the ghost type.  So they are quite safe to use. Not all of them are green or yellow, like the grass and electric type for example which makes all normal types feel a bit more unique and grounded, which is a nice change from your giant steel snake with spinning disks over his head or your christmas suited bird. Most normal types are speedy enough, and with moves like Return, there is some effort you need to bond with that Pokémon, you can’t just fetch it from your pc. Most normal types have a high level of a “pet” feeling I really appreciate in my mons. I also am very fond of ducks and this type holds some of the best duck with Porygon and Farfetch’d. Whitney is one of my favorite gym leaders, we both like normal types, both have pink hair , cry really easily and we both can use our Miltanks to totally destroy your team and devour your soul!

Number 2: Poison Types
While not very prevalent in any meta due to their ground and psychic weakness, the poison types have earned a place in my heart. I feel for Pokémon that are not very loved, and the poison type does not get a lot of love. Sure there is Gengar that is a crowd favorite, but no one cares about poor old Koffing and Trubbish is even hated by the community, this in itself endears it to me. I will show the world it’s okay to love a stunky or even a little trash bag filled with hopes and dreams to become  a strong mon one day. The poison type is all about damage over time, something only ghost and grass types can do as well, but the grass type is not as effective at it and the ghost types have to cut their hp in half for it and their hp is not their strong suit anyway. So if you go for dots, go for poison. The poison type also has some good combo possibilities in the form of Venoshock as well as being quite good hazard setters. Most poison types can learn at least some form of dark type moves which at least covers one of their weaknesses. Gen VII offered us some very interesting new poison types in the form of Salazalle , Poipole  and Toxapex which I all love to bits. Besides from my obvious number 1 type it would be the only type I would ever run as a mono type game.
With some of the best designs in the game and some of my favorite moves of all times, I can happily state that the poison type is not trash!

Number 1: Fairy Types
Even if you have not read my other posts up until now , I think it’s quite clear what is my favorite type. It’s the only type featured on my banner, and my entire site is coloured in their defacto tint. One of the best designed typings with only Aromatise as a bit of design fail. Jigglypuff , Xerneas, Mimikyu, Alolan Ninetales and of course my pal Sylveon, every single one of them looks so amazing. I love so much of them, I genuinely think Slurpuff looks delicious and Mega Audino, despite being somewhat useless looks very huggable.
With a whopping 7 legendaries of the type it’s represented well in the upper echelon of Pokémon as well, 8 if we count pixie plate Arceus. Having access to a vast array of secondary (or primary) typings, it’s very easy to run an all fairy type party, with Impidimp of gen 8 only increasing its viability even further. The fairy type being super effective against fighting and dragon .. and even immune to dragon make it so good and meta viable that only the steel type is a metagame usefulness , and the latter usually is just to slow in play for me.
So really there is no comparison. I love the Tapu’s , Magearna Soul Heart ability is great, Pixilate, though not very unique is so much more useful in the metagame then glaciate for example, though Aereliate is a stiff competitor , I just feel Pixilate would cause pink sparkles and those are so much better then some puffs of air…so there! The introduction of the fairy type also made no mon’s worse. They all became a lot better.  Where poison types weren’t that common and normal types did not fare well against steel before anyway.. none of them got worse. When the steel type was introduced it kinda made magnemite worse giving it a quad weakness rather than a double. The dark type was never given to a Gen I mon, so the fairy type has been the only typing that has enhanced old Pokémon, and in case of gardevoir even made some great again. Twinkle Tackle is easily the best Z move, mostly because of the activation dance and they are all just a treat to use. Fairy type is my dream type, and in my humble opinion one of the best typings there is in the game.
If Pokemon ever become real.. I will collect them all and snuggle them forever.
