It is always sunny in Paradise: Sunshine Blogger Award 9

Today is a big day for Pinkie in her personal life. Not only will we celebrate my sister’s birthday I might also be taking steps for a huge improvement for my quality in life! I am taking steps to move away from my criminally invested, drugs ridden town and move into a much more safer and accepting place! This means this week I have a lot of stuff to get in order and not a lot of time to write! So it is catch up week!  Easy content! That I can write pretty fast! This always includes blog tags! And it is time for my ninth Sunshine Blogger award.  I might do a tenth someday..but that will probably be the final one for a good while.

The Rules

Since I have done this 8 times before and the tag has travelled around more than a juicy rumor on twitter I am not going to do the copy paste stuff. Rules are simple. Display the logo, thank the one who tagged you, answer their 11 questions , ask 11 questions tag eleven people. Since this was a tag back.. and we are on the ninth run I am not nominating anyone! If you want to answer my questions just let me know in the comments. Or become a coconut by supporting my Kofi and always get nominated by default.

I was nominated by the Unpopular Popular who is an amazing blogger that shares the same favourite Power Puff girl as me.. even though it was a bit of a  more random pick for them!  They also have some amazing content for you to discover! If they haven’t been eaten by the spiders in their bedroom I am very hopeful we will see amazing content in the future! So check it out yourself. Now to answer their questions! Unfortunately I am really short on time this time around so I can’t do too many custom images.

What’s the most interesting thing that anime has taught you?

Uhm oh no! Most interesting! That makes this super hard! Now I have to be interested! That is not something I’d usually go to describe myself with. I am an acquired taste. The most practical thing that anime has taught me is to buy cheaper cuts of beef.. put in honey or pineapple juice or cover it with onions and let it sit for a while to get it a lot more tender and tasting high quality than it actually is. No more expensive cut but the more flavourful fatty cuts for me that now I tenderise by breaking down their enzymes. Yay for breaking down enzymes.

However Kamina from Tengen Toppa has taught me not to give up hope. What we see as possible or impossible is only the results of our limited knowledge or imagination. We do not know if two robots will combine or not unless we actually try it even if we do not know all the factors and by what we know now it seems impossible.  The same goes for things like my health, my acceptance in this world and whatever it is that I have to do here! If I believe in myself hard enough and strive for what I want.. that is a worthy fight! I might crash and burn.. but sometimes that is not bad either. Our imagination can break open the heavens and shatter what is currently possible! So what might seem impossible now.. just might be reached through passion.. finding a new way..shattering what people believe right now.

Surprise! You are now famous. What are you famous for?

Apparently my blog really hit off?! I mean I don’t really think I can reach fame any other way! Perhaps I am famous for doing D&D games as a DM bringing anime to the world of D&D with my own custom ruleset that I manage to sell? Then again is that really famous?! I’d probably just be some form of pink meme. As I don’t really get meme humor either.. it would explain the surprise of me becoming famous all of the sudden so yes! I am locking in my answer! I became famous as some weird pink meme!

Whoops for the typo I guess he is right! I am an idiot!

Which anime character is most like you?

There are a lot. I do relate to Koito from Bloom Into You a lot..but she is a bit young. So at the same time there aren’t that many anime characters like me. I don’t booze a lot.. so as a mature anime woman living by herself.. whew.. I am out of answers quickly. Maybe Liz from Liz and the  Bluebird. Do anime movies even count? Misty from Pokémon also is a good shoutout. We both love Pokémon, we both can be very and brutally honest but also quite girly. I would never wear hot pants or such an awkward outfit.. so then I am more like Serena from Pokémon or  Cure Melody. I can be socially awkward enough that I am also a whole lot like Tomoko from Watamote and I present myself like a Dark Magician Girl like person.. and none of these are Dojiko! So either I am really unique or I haven’t seen the right anime yet.

You have been kidnapped by a powerful criminal organisation. The main protagonist of the last anime you watched is the one who must come to your rescue. Would you ever be rescued, or are you doomed?

That depends, do we count anime stuff..as in anime content or literally an episode. When it comes down to anime Content I’d be rescued by Goku.I am pretty sure he has the strength to save me. I am not sure he might not sacrifice me to give the final boss a stronger form… BUT my chances would look up.  If we go on official anime, at the time of writing this it would be Hikaru from Hikaru no Go. Unless he develops powers later on I would be pretty doomed.  Then again I’d probably charm myself into the criminal organisation. They must have kidnapped me for a reason so I got to have something to offer them, I sure as heck know it isn’t money and as long I don’t have to do the killing and it saves my life I do not mind earning some nice sweet criminal organisation cash!  I have TONS of experience with Evil Criminal Organisation Motto’s as well! So I am sure it would work out! I’d get a job in no time!

If you could only watch one genre of anime for the rest of your life, what genre would you choose?

Do tournament arcs count? That’s like a sub genre?  I guess I would have to go with Isekai if we interpret it a bit. We can pile a bunch of stuff as Isekai. Yu-Gi-Oh is about a phantom being reborn in a card player.. isekai.. Digimon.. definitely Isekai. In Hunter X Hunter there is a virtual game arc! Isekai!  Yes I tend to be the person who tries to see how far she can push her boundaries. Kamina has taught me that.. but also law school has and years of Sith Roleplay. I’d get what I want..I am pretty sure I can spin Flip Flappers as an Isekai as well as they go into another world. Kyousougiga… yeah !  I am happy with this choice! But I will cheat!
Speaking of cheating. Cheat Magician was pretty bad!

I really love her outfit though!

Choose your superpower (you knew this one was coming!)

Pathokinesis! I determine what other people feel by projecting whatever I want them to feel on them. This is waaay better than mind control. Not only can I make them jump off a cliff.. by making them feel my words have validity. I can also make them happy that they do it!  I’d make Deborah Ann Woll fall in love with me or perhaps someone richer first.. then again I could just visit Bill Gates and make him feel like donating to my blog would make him super happy. Would I feel bad that these emotions are not genuine? No! I mean I would not like to snap my fingers and make Debbie bend to my will. I’d give her a gift and just make sure she really likes it. Who is to say she doesn’t naturally. I just make sure that neither of us is disappointed. If we can get happiness from a pill, why would happiness form a super power be any worse? I’d totally not be a superhero if I had powers.. I mean I’d probably go work for a charity .. for pay.. and make people really feel for our cause.. so I’d do good.. but it would also benefit me. I would not be too afraid to go the villainous route either.. then again I would not commit a crime. Making people give money to me or discard things they suddenly do not like anymore is not illegal.. so would I really be a bad guy?!

Give us one fun fact about you that most people wouldn’t know.

Fun hey! Okay so once I got sooo drunk I believed I was an airplane! I mean someone may have spiked my drink as well I am not sure. We were playing a drinking game and one person I had never met yet advised me to try one  of those special beers in the fridge.  If I liked this and this beer.. that one was the same. He warned me though it was a heavy one and you can get drunk of it very easily. I got cocky and said! I do not get drunk easily!  He handed me one of those beers and I downed it in one go. That was the last thing I remembered.

The next morning I woke up …at home..covered in dirt..but very much fully clothed and without company or without having done weird stuff, as a friend came by to check up on me! They biked me home last night after I completely lost control at the party. There I claimed to have been on a plane for about one straight hour before I was convinced I should head home! I ran off .. still pretending to be a plane and hopped my bike. Without waiting for any of my friends I dashed off. I biked so fast they barely could catch up with me.. and I am not a sporty biker and they are. I ran off the road off a hill and crash landed into a petting zoo.

Apparently I got into a fight with a goat.. who was baah’ing at me.. and apparently I was like.. “come at me .. bastard.. have you never seen an airplane before?” I then apologised to it ..or so it is said.. and hopped on my bike again and I peddled up the hill instead of following the path.  At one point I saw the canal near us as a landing strip and I wanted to jump into it to land and stop being a airplane as I wanted to be me again…My friend coaxed me to stop by saying  we needed to land on my driveway.. that made sense to me and the rest went on auto pilot… there were a lot of videos made that night.. and by the afternoon they did no longer exist. My hangover came much much later.. maybe it was jetlagged.

You can invite one anime character to dinner (I’ll let you decide if it’s a date or not ). Who do you invite? Where do you decide to eat? What do you talk about?

Do I have my super powers already?! I mean I am pretty good at empathy manipulation already so maybe! I guess I would say Sayaka from Bloom into you! I plan to make her my Waifu so might as well stick with it. Given how she is in Bloom into you we’d talk a bit about books, and mostly her experience on being gay. It really seems like she wanted someone to talk about that in that show.  Seeing how things are across worlds that might be interesting to her. The Netherlands might be a spot she’d enjoy being and then she is mine! Muhahaha. I’d go out to eat Tapas with her. Obviously our sushi will not meet her expectations and the little food to share makes for a good date and also some conversation. She seems like a person who enjoys food trivia and I have some so the more food.. the more I can impress.

If you could own any creature from any anime/game/etc as an IRL pet, what pet would you choose?

Pokémon count right?!  So I would pick a Sylveon but then if it was real those flesh ribbons might be weird! I would probably love it regardless it is my favourite Pokémon after all. But If I could get a pet Pokémon I would actually go with Mew! Mew is the ancestor and creator of all the other pokémon after all! So if I get Mew .. I would end all ecological balance on earth but I could get all the Pokémon I want! Yes I am one of those! If I had 1 wish I’d wish for more wishes type of person!

If you could solve any one problem in this world, what would it be?

Something I can make money off! Not like an insane amount just so I can live comfortably without having to do anything else. I do not really believe in pure altruism. In fact I am pretty sure if I solve one world problem without gaining anything my life would actually be miserable. Say for example I solved racismn.. the fact that I magically took that away will mean people will look at me and say “Why did you not cure cancer instead I just lost my wife because of it .. you are evil you chose them above us’ Even people who are being discrimated would say “I could have lived with what I have always lived.. but I can not live without my beloved brother, Fuck you Pinkie’ I do believe this is human nature while people of course would be grateful as well I would not be able to live with all the hate that I got.
A good deed never goes unpunished.

However once you take altruism out of the equation, people suddenly treat you a whole lot more decently! Why did I choose to  end hunger? Well because I have these magic tomatoes to sell.  How do I get medicine for Covid ? No one knows but she is selling it for the price of a Snickers Bar.. thats cheap enough. Snickers for everyone in the world. If you do a good thing for money.. people do not ask .. why would they do that?  I would be appreciated, am better off than I would before and people are less suspicious of my magic because I am not altruistic thus I would gather less hate for my choice.  Strange.. but I feel it works that way. I’ll help anyone but also get rich enough for my own robot unicorn

Would you rather: A) eat only your top three favourite foods for the rest of your life; or B) Eat anything EXCEPT your top three favourite foods for the rest of your life?

That depends, do I need to pay for the food? Or in this situation the food would be accessible to me. I could not afford to keep paying for Sushi , Tapas and Tournedos Rossini/Steak Tartar/other luxurious beef dishes.  So I would starve ..if i had to pay. If it was somehow affordable to me because.. it’s in such excess as it’s the only three foods in the world.. or like due to the power of the Dilemma I get the food… Oh boy I would stick to my top 3 so hard. I’d miss Pizza which is number 4 but there are tapas like that.  It would be unhealthy  but Sushi and Tapas are varied enough to give me a bit of everything and beef is a bit leaner but well red meats and such. Still I rather die 10 years earlier eating delicious stuff rather than 10 years later never eating delicious stuff. I could live without my top three foods but why would I?! Oh Sushi has to include Sashimi or it will replace the entirety of Sushi in favour of Sashimi.
Just let me know before it starts so I can snack for a lifetime!

Eleven Questions!

So my questionnaires usually have theme to them and this time I am going to follow the recent trend in spam and ask your questions about plants and pets! That way all your blogs will be super popular! Though I am not nominating anyone! You can do that yourself if you so choose! Just let me know! I bet these will get you to a million followers!

Question 1: Do you have a pet?! If so what tells us about your pet, if no .. what pet would you get if you could get one.
Question 2: What is your favourite flower/plant?
Question 3: Do you think your pet, be it the real one or the imagined one would ever eat a bar of soap? What would you do if they did?
Question 4: Are you good with caring for plants?
Question 5: What is your favourite wild animal?
Question 6: Did you ever make a Tree House? Or some other sort of hut?
Question 7: What is your favourite Anime Animal?
Question 8: What is your favourite nature scene in an anime?
Question 9: If you could be a pet, what animal would you be?
Question 10: What is your favourite season to visit mother nature?
Question 11:Combine a plant and an animal? What would be the ultimate spam click-bait lifeform?

So these are pretty weird questions! I don’t really expect people to pick this one up off all the tags that I did! I suggest if you want to be nominated you either check my previous Sunshine Blog Award for questions about the blogosphere or my Let’s Blog Award 2 Electric Boogaloo for questions about secrets! If this is your jam though good on you! Speaking of Jam.. jam would be pretty gross in coffee but I could buy Jam with Kofi! So if you want me to buy Jam and not put it in my coffee, support my Kofi! Else I will put jam in my hot beverage and then I am only one step away from putting Pineapple on Pizza!

Top 5: Favorite Legendary Pokémon

Dear little subjects, this may come as no surprise to you but Princess Pinkie scores high in terms of views and likes. Of course this makes sense, because this is the only place on the internet with factually correct rankings of pokémon.  Since I princess Pinkie am such an legendary icon for this site, today we shall look at legendary pokémon as well. Fit for a princess. This list will contain ALL of the legendary subclasses. This means Ultra Beasts, Mythical Pokémon and all that jazz goes as well. While in the future this list might be split up and revisited we start things with no restrictions.

Legendary Number 5: Tapu Lele

Tapu Lele is my favorite Island Guardian, she is cute  girly a fairy type and her ability is my favorite of all the Tapu’s as well. The case of Tapu Lele is helped that she of course is pink. It is the Akala Island guardian which so happens to be my favorite Island in the Alola region.  While arguably not the most useful ability psychic surge , which sets up psychic terrain can be a great interruptive move to your opponent’s strategies. The terrain itself will influence everything that is on the ground by sealing away priority moves. If your opponent set is build on those, like Sucker Punch or Ice Shard you can really disrupt their momentum. I like getting under the skin of my opponents and Tapu Lele allows me to do that. She just looks adorable on my team and even her brief appearances in the anime are quite cute.

However the reason why adore Tapu Lele as much as I do is actually her TCG card.  The trading card game GX version of Tapu Lele fits in every deck that relies heavily on their supporter cards. My (albeit aged) fighting deck needs me to keep as much Korina’s in my hand as possible for combo options. Tapu Lele just needs to be played to the bench (backrow) so you search for a supporter card. Since my deck’s ace is a normal pokemon and not a GX (thus low hp) Tapu Lele can also function as a (somewhat costly) wall. In other words she is an amazing supporter to virtually any deck and mine even more so. To this day the Tapu Lele card is fairly costly due to how relevant it is. While the card is now also aging rapidly it doesn’t blemish the memories of me roffle stomping my friend when I had this girl in hand and could pull of some epic combo shenanigans My current best friend Jilly just bought it for me one day and it was a really beautiful and appreciated gift. So this pokemon just has a lot of fond memories for me and she looks good while doing so.

Legendary Number 4: Regigigas

Now for  those who know anything about pokémon this choice might be very weird! Regigigas is commonly known as one of the worst legendaries if  not the worst. Yet I have to say something to them! Everyone doubting Regigigas, saying Slow Start is the worst!. Well you are absolutely …….. true.  There is no way around it.. Regigigas is quite bad. It’s base stat totals aren’t exactly that high and his main stat is halved until five turns in! Each time you swap the ability resets. To me that is exactly what makes Regigigas so fun to play.  It is a challenge to keep it alive for five turns so that slow start ends, do you run confuse ray and protect or do you  try to sap health with a Drain Punch. It’s a battle of wits that only expands in double battles where it is such a treat to use. Frustrating at times but it feels rewarding to pull off. Especially when you can use it alongside cool team combinations.  My favorite combination is letting my gentle giant attack into my own coffagrigus which I equip with a ring target. Doing this while it uses the move power-up punch will result in a one turn .. nightmare to deal with. People usually assume I will set up trick room and either attack  It is just so much fun to see your opponent realise what just happened and how now they are doomed.

It makes the funniest sounds and I just really like normal types and underdogs and this Trio Leader is both. He is also a craftsman who just creates smaller golems while being a golem. I don’t know why I think that is cute. Something that lakes little friends for itself I always like. But mostly those sounds!  While it will do little against ghost types it will wreak havoc on the rest. It can be quite fierce in the anime, it has shown that it has the ability to control the three legendary Golems even if they are under the control of a trainer. Regigigas is more important to them which is really a nice sentiment for a pokémon and their trio master. It how ever can also be a big friend giant as well. The fact that I have nothing with stories about Golem or constructs makes the fact that I like it this much even more amazing.

LEGENDARY NUMBER 3: Kyogre

Kyogre is one of the legendaries I ever actively used on my team. I started my first game of pokémon sapphire with a blaziken, because torchic was the cutest of the three. Though I later got to appreciate Mudkip a lot more it meant that in that particular playthrough I did not really carry a water pokémon I really liked with me. While there are plenty to be found, on my first go around I just did not lay my hands on it.  I usually go complete the league first then use the money I got to catch in a dedicated fashion. I had a water HM slave but I needed something better for the league. Since you catch Kyogre before the league and relatively early compared to most games I really got to form more of a bond with it. When I came back to do a mono water type run in it (it has a lot of great water pokémon) I named my Kyogre Laboon. Laboon was great , since I had a monotype team it really helped me carry the rest trough some of the tougher final fights.

I also have fond memories of Kyogre in the trading card game.  My best friend at the time used a Kyogre and Mega-Kyogre EX deck against my Medicham Deck, and we always had exciting matches. It was great fun to battle together and catch up over a lunch before or after our game. I am thankful for the pokémon who helped me win as many games as i did, but I am also grateful to the Kyogre in the deck of Alpha-Geek. I didn’t like his Blastoise though! Stupid Deluge ability. Designwise Kyogre als always appealed to me, it’s deep blue colour is really pops and seems brighter than that of most water pokémon. Those mysterious stripes on its body really help sell a legendary quality to it. A quality that only got better when they added Primal Reversion in the remakes.

Being a weather pokemon it is great on rain boosted teams with enough offensive power with moves like Water Spout , Thunder and Origin Pulse to hold it’s own. Choice Scarfed this Pokémon can really reduce your opponents team to nothing quite fast. It’s oigins are very much explored in the game’s narrative so you always know what pokémon you are using. This trait is oftenly lacking at other legendaries. Sure there are some signs and books to read on the events of burned tower, but the legendary birds were hardly explained during the games. Mewtwo was .. but the way Kyogre and Groudon are interwoven in their stories I think is so much better. Better than any other game in my opinion. Mewtwo I feel myself is a tad overrated (do not get me wrong it would be number six) the myth was great, the story was great but we did not get it from one source, we had to go out of our way to find all that amazing lore. As a kid that is easy to miss. They messed up the landing.. had they let Giovanni use Mewtwo in battle and afterwards you can capture it.. it would have taken this spot.  I do not mind a mystical pokémon being shrouded in mystery.. but for one so important to the story and to the world of pokémon you kind of get it late. Kyogre (and Groudon too for that matter) stuck the landing. The whale just had a super cool design and moveset to go with it. A myth , not everyone has heard about.. a legend everyone knows.. so that is why the whole mythos and Gen 3 story is Legen…..wait for it!

Legendary Number 2: Poipole

Generation VII introduced us to the first legendary who could actually evolve , Cosmog! This was something I wanted all my life… or well at least since generation one.  Unfortunately you really dont evolve Nebby the Cosmog yourself and Lillie does all the work for you. Even if you get your hands on another Cosmog and evolve it, both the basic and stage 1 evolution know no useable moves.. so you can’t actually use. My hope died that I ever got a legendary that I could raise. But one year later my prayers to Arceus were answered when I got Poipole. A legendary that could evolve into the awesome Naganadel. Yet I vastly prefer the little one. It’s design is steller it looks kind of like an alien with a dragon tail. It is a Pokémon that lives in Ultra Megatropolis , a pokémon that lives in the depths of Ultra Space.  People live here as well (though different) . In it’s world it enjoys incredible popularity and thusly is often chosen as a starter. So to put it bluntly, it’s the pikachu of an alternative eldritch infested dimension.

Being unevolved of course it does not have to amazing stats, it ends up being around the power of a first evolution starter. Exactly at the level of the Alolan starters stage 1 evolution. However it’s ability Beast Boost, which upgrades its strongest stat with each kill it makes, puts it in a league above them. Yet in all honesty by the time you get Poipole it is a bit underwhelming, but it is just so cute you do not really care and make it work.  It’s the first legendary that is a poison type which is one of my favorite types.. and thusly factually one of the best types. Ash caught one, and it is soooo adorable in the anime. Perfectly adorable! From the moment it had been caught to how it sleeps next to Rowlet in Ash bag. It is such a delight to look at in literally everything it does. Speaking of a delight to look at it’s shiny is among one of my favorites ever as well. It’s white body with golden details really resonate with me, giving it quite a regel quality for something that strange… also it kinda looks like a fried egg.. and for some reason I love it. It has a fun moveset and as Naganadel even more so, it’s an evolving Ultra Beast.. so you kind of feel like you are carrying along an overpowered baby! I LOVE overpowered monster babies!..I hate the real ones though but let’s not talk about those. Popole’s Ultra Beast name is Adhesive.. or STICKY in japanese. It must be named that way because you never want to let it go anymore and keep it with you always! I really need a poipole plushie!

Legendary Number 1: Mew

Of course Mew would be my number one, I looked under the truck, I talked to professor Oak 151 one times so he would take mine back  and trade it for a Mew, I did weird step patterns outside of Cerulean City. and so much more. We searched for hints of Mews in tons of magazines and tried to unlock it via all sorts of tricks and unless you got a gameshark or clever friends we simply never got it. It was the proverbial white whale. The only Mew I legitimately caught to this day was the one in Pokémon Go. The others where  either in fangames or randomisers, randomisers are basically ‘hacks’ which replace the pokemon spawns with different one, so your Pidgey can suddenly become Shellder and instead of hundred Zubat in caves you might find hundred Mew. When you finally get your hand one in it is a delight to use! Mew has a equal 100 in all of it’s stats which means it can literally play into any role depending on how you raise it up. That is helped by the fact that it can use ANY Technical Machine thus he learns every single move that has one. Randomised that means it can literally learn anything.

It is the blank sheet Pokémon. When you bring it out your opponent will never know what is coming towards them so Mew always has an upper hand. Now there is a risk with a pokémon that can be everything. Can it be itself? Yes! Mew can be run with sets that no one else can but also has been given a lot of love in terms of lore and it has even gotten it’s own Z-move A little move to call it’s own. This only contributes more to it’s awesomeness. There is nothing I can about what moves makes it great because it learns everything. So let’s take a look at it’s design! It’s so pink and cute. it’s so playful it has so much personality! IT HAS A FLUFFY MARSHMALLOW DRINK!!!!! Now that it will play big role in the anime it even has me more excited for the pokemon. Now we only need a main line game where it isn’t behind  a paywall or extra item. With Go hunting for Mew in the new Pokémon Anime series , I actually think we will get it as well, as an event pokémon. I have high hopes! It’s blue shiny is super cute as well and one of the retro pokemon trading cards I am currently hunting for.. speaking of which I run a old Mew-Ex in my secondary deck as well.. because mew has the ability to use any attack of a pokemon on the board as long as he has the correct energy. So it means that if you build your deck smart Mew can use all of your own attacks, keeping the enemy guessing at your strategy. In the beginning of this post I already said I liked mind games and Mew either as a card or a monster is the ultimate pokémon for that. The Pokemon Card even created a villain in the pokemon world!! Talk about messing up minds!..It even drives me crazy! Because I gotta have that FLUFFY MARSHMALLOW DRINK!

Question to my readers:

What is  your favorite legendary?

So we conclude our list of my favorite legendaries at least for the time being. Favorite pokemon are always in shift each memory we make with them can bring them closer to our heart. So if I left your favorite out don’t feel sad that just means there is another pokemon out there for me to enjoy one day. Don’t forget my opinion is right cause I am a princess! Also…….dairy!

My dream: A trip to Pokémon Café Tokyo

Some people dream about making a trip around the world, others wish to see the seven wonders of the world, other want to see all the art of the great masters. I dream of going to Japan one day, Tokyo most likely. I want to dine or lunch at the Pokémon Café and shop my Mudbray (Arse Pokémon)  off in the pokémon center. Unfortunately since my health prevents me from proper employment in most branches, it may be just a dream. It is a nice dream to talk about though.

Mew’s Fluffy Marshmallow Drink

While doing my research for this post I literally upset my own heart. I made it flutter so hard by cuteness overload I had to take a minute to calm myself. I am THAT excited for these kind of things. I imagine this must be how a normal girl feels when she looks at Chris Hemsworth. I feel like I am looking at a Magikarp using splash! Nothing Happens. Some people can stare at the Mona Lisa for hours and question the emotion on her face her feelings .. the brushwork blahblahblah. I look at things like that and be like… saw it in that movie.. nice that I saw the real one.. but it looks the same to me. Nice story to tell , moving on. This process takes me about thirty seconds to a minute. Sure it’s impressive but so is the floor in the Louvre. So is the cleanliness in Disneyland, you don’t see us fawning over that. I do not get excited because ‘I need to be’. When Robert Downey Junior is close to me, I’ll get just as scared as normal humans do. I’d might not even take a picture with him.. it’s just a person. It’s cool if you take a photo with him because people know him!’ Well I took a picture of me with a coca cola bottle in the background that’s more famous than Robert Downey Junior.. and that wasn’t impressive. I like what I like and I don’t have to go crazy over the common thought.

However I was looking through the official website of the pokémon café for this website and I moaned and squeed and went Oh YES, loudly. My tiny neighbour must have believed I had the best carnal encounter in years. Truth of the matter is I saw that the Pokémon Café serves a Mew’s Fluffy Marshmallow Drink. It looks like the most amazing drink in the world and it’s really basic. Just a 10 dollar cranberry yoghurt drink with strawberry flavor and lots of marshmallows with a cute mew straw. Yet somehow..the entire picture together.. tied to my favorite franchise, this drink is THE thing I  desire to have tasted most in my life right now. I have eaten in fancy restaurants have drank $400 dollar a bottle whiskeys and fancy red wines of my birth year and still this is the thing I want to taste most. Even if it can’t hold a candle towards others in quality or taste and not even in complexity. Yet this to a fan like me might be the ultimate food experience. It gets even better, I know that if I ever eat at the pokémon café it will for me be my best food experience ever and one I will never forget. Will I ever make it there? I am not sure, but does it even really matter? I already feel all fluffy inside knowing this exists and having a fantasy about a yoghurt drink just makes me incredibly happy for some reason.

Screaming at a cheesecake

Just looking at one item on the menu made me all spinny and happy in my head and the goodness  absolutely doesn’t stop there. Having alternating menu’s what you find is always a surprise. An omelet shaped like a pikachu’s butt while he is trying to hide from something is a dish for example. A curry with pikachu shaped bread is a hearty meal for everyone to enjoy… and enjoy! There are other great drinks like the gengar grape smoothie and the legendary bird shakes. If you buy a drink you get a coaster to keep for free! And that’s done with a mini game! The server approaches you with a tablet which lets you randomly pick,  from what I assume would be the starter pokémon or the original 150 you get a coaster for you! To keep! Yay! That makes the Mew Marshmallow Drink a bit more affordable by comparison. The plates you can not keep, which is a shame because those look adorable as well. Squeee! No matter if it’s a poké paw, a pikachu head or an eevee head or even a snorlax shaped rice bowl.. it all needs to go into my kitchen someday. The Eevee hamburger needs to go into my belly as well.. gotta eat em all! The food is that adorable.

At the moment of writing they are serving cute halloween plates of Zorua Pikachu and a Meowth pumpkin pie for example. I outgrew smilies on my pancakes but this I will never outgrow. The real kicker is when you see they have a Jigglypuff Cheese cake! It’s decorated with some chocolate music notes and strawberry or raspberry jelly decorations as well. Now this alone would be enough to kill me, but during my intensive research to my dream I have found out other qualities about it as well.  People seem to love this dessert as it tastes great.. but they did something with the texture as well… get this .. they made jigglypuff .. a little jiggly! By now I am screaming at the Jigglypuff cake on my screen! I choose you! While my human eyes actually begin to transform into desirefull anime eyes…which hurts by the way,  so I am screaming at the little jiggly cheesecake. The burgers from what I hear are nothing special but I would not order a burger in Japan anyway! I want the curry and maybe an omelet as a starter. Of course I would also have to eat one of the seasonal specials so I guess when I actually get there I will be screaming at the Jigglypuff Cheesecake as well! I ate too much!!I will eat you to! Gotta eat you al! People will think I am insane, though I genuinely expect the restaurant to be full of people like me. We all scream at the Kawai Cheesecake and nearly die of happiness.

Max Happiness

My heaven is located in Nihonbashi near Tokyo Station, on the 5th floor of the Takashimaya department store.  I do believe the pokémon center is right next to it so all I need is a little apparantment adjacent to them and the ability to the plushies and food I want and I would work there for free for the rest of my life.  Arceus knows how I will do my laundry or pay my doctor bills but I would be in bliss. I could start my days with a Ditto fruit salad.. which has a bit of blueberry yoghurt next to it decorated with a ditto eyes and smile. I am crying with happiness just thinking about eating it every day!  A nice omelet for lunch and some adorable sweets to go! Because yes! They also sell candies and little sweet buns that are perfect on the go. Reservations are mandatory in the restaurant but of course I would just book a life-time in advance , and I can do that cause you can reserve a spot there using english!  So aside from money I got my plan laid out! I do play the lottery and I totally deserve this so we know it is just a matter of time until I am a winner and migrate to the café.

I’d settle for a once in a lifetime visit though if I only win a little money! Maybe one day the pokémon company will discover how much I love the franchise and allow me to work for them! And pay me enough to make the trip! Bliss! Now the biggest issue about a one time visit is , would be the limitations of my suitcase. I would definitely have to pay extra to ship all the stuff I want to bring along back. In the café I can buy mugs, plates and plushies! By now I am in love with a marshmallow drink, screaming of at a cheesecake, crying of joy by thinking of eating Ditto Yoghurt everyday… I might just begin spewing rainbows in a bit.

A Million Starmie

I realise I am wearing rose coloured goggles. The food only gets 3,5 stars out of 5 on Trip Advisor and one guy left a negative comment about it on a website called Japan Experience.. saying he wasted his money  and it was the worst food he ate in Japan. Well I hope he chokes on a Mcdonald’s hamburger! I very well realise that what this place serves is Mall-Food.. for Mall prices. Yet many foodies describe the same phenomenon when someone eats their mothers home cooking.  It may not taste that great to those who do not share your sentiment.. but to you , your mother’s cooking is quite possibly the best in the world. My mother’s thai green curry I prefer over any restaurant who probably does it better. Food can be an experience, food can be emotion, you do not eat with just your mouth but your brain as well. While your taste buds and nose may not taste something that is particularly tasty.. the brain can ‘season’  a dish because its ‘your favorite’ or mamma cooked it.. or because it looks like a friggin adorable… *intense yelling* jiggly jigglypuff!Coca Cola in a can tastes nicer in it’s can because we know it’s coca cola than it tastes inside a glass. Unless it’s an official glass .. which Mcdonalds and the other evil burger flippers hand out like candy.  If you put housebrand cola in a coca cola glass it also tastes nicer. We might taste food with our mouth and nose, we truly experience it with our brain.

Inside a café that displays a lot of pokémon, has lights and plants shaped like pokéballs and background music from pokémon, I know I could even eat one of the annoying kids running around there and it would still taste great. I could even just eat their shoes and still be hungry for more. This is one of the most ‘pokemon’ experience known to man. I will have a good time there even if I get shot inside the place. This is what makes it a dream to me, I might even go there if I knew I would die afterwards. It is something I want to experience that much.  Should I ever be able to get myself there, I will probably book two days to visit it.. because the first day I might be dazed. This is my Disneyland .. maybe even my heaven. Words fail to describe how deep it touches me. It might be a glorified fastfood place .. but the heart wants what it wants.  This is not a review of the restaurant and should I go there the result will be I love it , regardless if I had a tasty meal.  On yelp I would give it a million Starmie, and another million Staryu as well.. you need to do that stuff anyway in pokémon lets go so here have them! Two Million stars! This dream I would not accept critique about, if I want to waste my hypothetical money on this I should Charity or sanity be damned this is my dream and everyone should be allowed to spend money on their true dream. So yes my carbon footprint would improve and yes there are healthier foods etc. But no people do not need the money more! I need it for my dream and nothing is more important to someone than be able to live their dream. Not even being a good person. So think bad of me all you like for having such a silly dream. Keep the hate to yourself though as I just want to sip my Mew’s Fluffy Marshmallow Drink while I dry my tears of joy  and scream at my cheesecake!

Question to my readers:

What is your ‘petty/selfish’ dream (No ‘that everyone is happy’ dreams here)

A less than informative post for you this time but hey, you at least learned a little bit more about me again. Also a lesson, never let the general opinion stand in the way of your own happiness. You never know if you do it right for someone else.. and you will always know if you do right by yourself. So make sure you are happy! It’s okay to have ‘petty’  dreams!
That of course doesn’t mean you should not support anyone.. but find a balance that works for you! We all matter, you matter, I matter! Be happy, have a dream!

Review: The First Pokémon Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back

Dear subjects, we are trying to experiment a bit with the content we are putting out, where our in depth talks about the Pokémon Mimikyu bombed last week te are trying to examine it it’s the subject or the day in question. A safe bet to always draw in people would be a review, but unfortunately for Chibi Pinkie, this is not something she can play, nor does it fall under series or toys. That means someone with the right opinion will review for once! Me! Princess Pinkie. Over the course of the next few weeks I will discuss every pokémon movie that has been released and of course we start with the first. This review will contain spoilers…for a 21 year old movie. So.. be warned… ?! Do note we rate the movie as on the japanese dvd with english dub option as it contains the first 10 minutes of the movie that got cut in the VHS version for Europe and America (the version I grew up with)

How does it Look and Sound?

Let’s talk about the the looks and sound first. Once looks is very important , you will not buy a book with an ugly cover nor will you have a poster of Susan Boyle no matter how much you like her singing.  The First Pokémon Movie : Mewtwo Strikes Back, as this movie is called nowadays has that distinct 90’s look to it’s animation. Which is a good thing, it’s animated quite a bit better looking than the regular anime with a lot more detail and effects going on. There is an occasionally blurry Pokémon here and there but nothing to noticeable or distracting. It could have used a bit more visual spectacle near the end but overall this was quite pleasing to the eye, at least for it’s time and compared to the series. There are a bunch of neat lighting effects and it just really works. There are a few effects though that look horrible. Like the fire in the earlier scenes of the movie. There are very little frames to the fire and it has no impact on the environment.. it’s just there sometimes placed on spots that don’t even make any sense. The fire cycles through just a handful of frames, ik kind of looks like they added fire.gif  to the scene, and not a good gif either.

Soundwise this movie is interesting to say the least. Voicewise the cast does a stellar job to convey emotions, please note I watch the dub because opposed to the sub which I would have preferred had all the names been the same. With big name changes I vastly prefer the dub because i know the characters as Ash and Misty and seeing them be called Satoshi and Kasumi just feels off to me. Overall the music is quite solid with one exception. Brother my Brother by Blessid Union of Souls. People love this song but I felt it was very out of place. While it does make the scene of Pokémon battling their super clones more emotional as they battle to the death it feels .. unpokémon.  It feels like something that belongs in the Disney Tarzan movie rather than my pokéworld. The emotional build up to not fight like this is not there and only established somewhere in the middle of this song. While it calls for the right emotion and cues us in how to feel in this scene like it should it feels slapped on there. Should it have started 30 seconds earlier I might have been fine with it but this really made me wonder, what are they doing here. It’s a good song but it’s time wrong and it doesn’t seem to flow along nicely with the scene. Had the Mewtwo and Mew battle not been in the scene and it just focussed on the battle against clones it might have worked.. but for me it really didn’t now.  However by far the weirdest thing about the sound is the choice of a few sound effects. Like when Mewtwo switches on the lights in his arena you hear the actual sound of a lightsaber being ignited but only the first half (it’s not even a sound alike that’s the actual effect) when Mew flies out of the amazon he dispells his sleep-bubble with the sound of a star trek teleportation, again no sound alike it’s the actual one from the shows. It’s odd but hilarious.

How does it feel?

Atmosphere is very important to a show, how good is the world building, any weird mistakes , does it keep your attention? This is what we discuss in this part of the review. Let’s start to say that the english dub is loaded with mistakes. One of the elite trainers calls his pidgeot and pidgeotto, a guy claims he only use water pokémon has a nidoqueen, (but it’s blue herpaderp)  and Jessie and James can’t tell an Alakazam from a Scyther, the last one while a mistake is at least credible. A trainer not knowing the name of their own pokémon though is not. So the dub can be a bit sloppy. A subplot in mewtwo’s plans for example is missing , changing him from a misguided pokémon to a classic movie villain. The dubbers believed the western audience was unable to comprehend a morally grey antagonist with more subtle motives so they made Mewtwo a lot more black and white. As a result the ending doesn’t really connect. From out of nowhere people see this villian have a change of heart and accept it without any context. It makes the movie feel more odd than it should be. Bringing up the improperly edited song, the weird sound effects the mistakes and the simplified plot makes the movie feel quite sloppy. Ash first death was quite impactful on everyone who saw it nonetheless, but did you know the whole reviving mechanic isn’t nearly as cheesy as it’s in the original version?

The uncut version actually explains what happens and does confirm that Ash is not just petrified he is actual dead. Seeing the build up added in this version pardoned a lot of the sloppy stuff for me as at the end we do get a feeling of a well rounded story. Now all we need is a proper ending and we got a very solid movie. … ‘Wait what? It’s one of those?…… well fizzlesticks’ Unfortunately..yet understandably the movie ends with a big middle finger towards the audience. Ash and his friends get send back in time for a bit and don’t remember anything, so nothing ever really happened Such a buzzkill. With Pokémon however it does make sense, the franchise was so big that it’s young audience would wonder why no one talked about it in the anime. Since the movies aren’t cannon at least it’s placeable inside the universe we knew.. but this ending hasn’t aged well at all. Other than that it doesn’t feel all that dated actually, even knowing what we know nowadays about the franchise there is little to nothing conflicting about it there. Well .. except for one weird plot hole…

How is the plot?

The movie we know begins with Mewtwo escaping from Giovanni, but that is not how the movie actually starts. It starts with Mr Fuji  on an expedition to find Mew.. who is secretly following him but is never seen. However inside a temple Fuji finds a Mew fossil…….. Mew is a one of a kind pokémon that is the only one of his species by all existing media.. yet somehow they find a fossil of Mew. How?

Question to my readers:

How do you think Mr Fuji obtained Mew’s fossil.. while Mew is still alive?

Weirdness aside the uncut version actual dus a great job of setting up Mewtwo as a character. Growing inside a tank it mentally connects to the mental presence of Ambertwo a clone of Mr Fuji’s deceased daughter. The man tried to recreate her because he can not move on without her, causing his wife to leave him. While they explore a dreamlike state together, Ambertwo  explains Mewtwo what is is to exist and answer some of his existential questions but then she destabilizes and disintegrates dying all over again. While Mewtwo is crying for losing her she tells him what crying is and explains he should save his tears because pokémon tears contain valuable life essence. This bit is majorly important for the rest of the story but the original western version left this out. It’s probably the best written part of the entire movie! Mewtwo murders Mr Fuji and joins with Giovanni to rule the world together.

While I can see why they cut this part out of a kids movie, because it’s pretty messed up, so much in the movie never made sense to me as a kid but this version manages to tie everything together quite neatly, with the exception of the dub making Mewtwo more of a genocidal villain rather than a deluded pokémon amidst a existential crisis much like how he is portrayed in the sub. Ash has a decent arc to go trough in this story and  his famous demise is still quite impactful to me. While Brock and Misty as well as the other trainers really are throw-away characters in this movies it actually puts the spotlight on the pokémon. Again Mewtwo’s plan makes less sense in the dub, but the first 10 minutes leave enough room for us to understand both versions of the genetically superior pokémon, as he could have re-remembered Amber which wile unspoken could have driven him off the edge. He said he remembered ‘something’ so it’s plausible enough. Knowing what is to come in the franchise however I would have preferred the more nuanced version. It’s a compelling story what a nice lesson at the end about taking control of your own identity rather than taking one on at birth and about friendship versus servitude alongside the way how pokémon SHOULD and should not battle.  While that last one is quite powerful I do feel that one could have been executed a bit better, the battles between pokémon and clones felt weird.. which is how they are supposed to feel.. but for a life or death battle I expected something a bit more visceral rather than slap battles.

What is the Verdict

The first Pokémon Movie is a great nostalgic view that is well written enough to hold some merit for those who are not watching with rose coloured specs. It’s a sparkling mix of 90’s cheese, pokémon and even a hint of disney. Fun enough for any pokémon fan to have a blast with even if it is all done quite sloppily. Yet this movie to me is more than just the sum of its parts. It is something that rises way above its mistakes. My rating system is based n the emotion I felt rather than a numerical score and I can not help but to be crazy about this movie. No matter how much I watched it as a kid.. this version, which was new to me made me appreciate it even more. This movie is an icon from my youth.. something I loved deeply as a kid and something i still treasure now. Any flaw I found was endearing to me and made me love it even more because now I know those flaws and I still love it to bits. With that being said I give this movie my highest possible rating! I love it, and always will.

With one movie down I only have 22 more movies to go. I didn’t see a lot of them, in fact I only saw the next one in a glimpse and a few other ones in the same fashion. I can not help but wonder which of them will be the very best.

Trainer Profile: Myself

Top of the day to ya dear Watsons! Much like last time on Detective Pinkie  we will profile an individual and review their trainer class preferred type and their team of six. I asked for suggestions  for fictional or less fictional people to use. Unfortunately we got no suggestions so I picked someone I am fairly familiar with. Today we will be reviewing myself.

Trainer Class: Fairy Tale Girl

Not good enough to call myself an ace trainer, not insane enough to call myself a hex maniac, the trainer class that fits me best is known for their pink dress and usage of the fairy type. For those of you who have actively read at least one of my blogs right now this should already start to make a bit  of sense. Yet the Fairy Tale Girl fits me for a lot of other reasons as well. Introduced in the Kalos region , which is the pokémon variant of France it’s about as close to home as I will ever get. Technically Britain might be closer but where I live I can be in Paris within a few hours. About five or so, London would still take me more. Kalos trainers do like fashion and good foods and sitting with their friends in one of the many café’s.  For a geek I am fairly social and so are the Fairy Tale girls… sure will not call you as often as Youngster Joey but we are fun to play and battle with. Kalos is also home to the battle mansion, Fairy Tale girls who pop up inside there use a mix of Psychic , Fairy and Normal types. Two of which are among my top 3 favorite types, Psychic types I also like to use, however I feel they are a bit to overhyped. A lot of fairy types share dual typings with the psychic variant though and before the pink type appeared, I was a devout follower of the classical purple psychic type. Quite playful .. waaay younger in mind than in body and fascinated by tiny lights magic and of course fairy tales would make me perfect to fit this archetype.  I like ribbons and frills and dressing up. I allow myself to partially live in a fantasy world simply so I enjoy myself more. While I am not naive I would say I was schooled by naivety. Not overly ambitious nor competitive I participate in the world , as well as Pokémon, because I think its fun.

Preferred Type: Fairy Type

Now there is a surprise, my preferred type is the actual type that I ranked 1 in a top 5? Geesz.. talk about a fastball here. But my dear little Watsons fear not because there is more to it than just me liking it. Fairy types are weak to poison and steel types. while being strong against darkness dragon and fighting. As a pacifist I go out of my way that every situation I resolve is done without violence. To this day I have only punched someone once.. waaay back when I was a little kid. People have wanted to beat me up but I always outsmarted them or managed to charm my way out of physical altertrications. In a punching battle I’ll cry and faint at the first hit but I will make pretty sure you do not get the chance to do so. Whether it is through trickery or charm … I usually come out on top.  Darkness and Dragons also face a lot in real life. Darkness is the depression I see in a lot of my friends and family and even me… I don’t have an immunity for it. Yet to many people I am a confidant.. people share their trouble with me, even when they know little about me.. people share their worries with me. I will do my utmost best to help you overcome that darkness in your soul as well and usually I succeed. A lot of people have actually suggested me going into the psychology trait yet unfortunately I lack the means to take on a study. I just help people for free then, means I get more time for my friends anyway. Dragons to me are the obstacles we encounter in daily life. My motor functions are below average, my heart is weak , I regularly have no money and quite honestly with a distant father, a sickly mother and a sister in a very bad place right now.. there is plenty of obstacles in my way already. Then there are my own issues as well, but those I won’t go into right now. Yet every day I wake up with a smile happy to write a new blog or go have some fun with friends.  Dragons do not define me nor do they affect me all that much. It’s something I have to deal with for sure but never will they make me a different person than I already am.

Onto the weaknesses of the fairy type being poison and steel. The first is quite easily a weakness of mine as well. Being of weak constitution any cough or flu bug can really bother me but being whimsical little me what really bothers me is toxicity in the figurative sense of the word. A few friends gave me Overwatch so I could play with them but the moment I logged on myself to try and learn the game to impress them.. I got so much negativity for not knowing how to play D.Va it ended with me vomiting while the game was deinstalling. I tried to play League of Legends with a friend, whom went toxic when I messed up, he told me some horrible things in sheer rage, I dodged seeing him for months and was super stressed about it, he could not even remember… So yeah.. I am weak to that. The steel type weakness is reflected in me not caring about cool metallicy stuff. I hate knights, vikings, cars, mandalorians, armor, blacksmithing. When someone has a knights code.. or follows any form of warrior tradition I tune out completely. A friend talked to me about warhammer 40k once talking about their weaponry their codes and beliefs and the warriors honour etc, I apparently listened to the man for the entire evening.. and can not remember a single thing about it.. I completely blanked out I don’t even remember being bored… I was just gone but smiling.

The Pokémon Team

Signature Pokemon : Sylveon (Fairy Type)

My favorite pokémon is also my signature pokémon, yet again completely unsurprising, if any of you even read the post about my favorite pokémon it was one of the very first I posted on the website. Yet if you read the Trainer Profile of last week you notice I don’t just pick a pokémon on a simple fact alone, there has to be a resemblance to the trainer as well.  Sylveon and I were both raised in a loving home. While sometimes I doubt if my father feels this way, mother I have zero doubts about. In fact I don’t even doubt dad loves me.. he just might not love me in a loving way? Regardless, mother is like a saint who showered me with a lot of love as I grew up. So I could definitely evolve into a Sylveon.. if they would actually LET me is a bit of a complex story for which I do not have the time here, because I also want tell you how I am all about love.  Friendship is magic is one of my personal catchphrases and I try to keep my friendships healthy. I love the people close to me.. yet I am not afraid to let go. Love is unconditional and even if some friends have turned out to be humongous Grasshole (thank you Pokémon Clover) I do not love them less for it. They gave me some amazing moments and even if we are unable to happily spend time together nothing will take away the gratefulness and love I have for those wonderful moments they gave me.  Also I am pretty darn good at putting on some Baby Doll Eyes.

Physical Wall: Luvdisc (Water)

Luvdisc is a weak little heart and that fits me quite well.  Not only do I have a weak little heart myself, my HP stat isn’t that high and I am quite fragile to physical things. I can get seasick from floating in the sea on my very own back, I can harm my neck just by getting up out of my chair and I can physical adversity always seems only one step away.. Though I have never broken anything I had some pretty weird injuries, like every single toe bruised because a goose attacked them, I had a volleyball bruise all my fingers (both hands excluding thumbs)  at once and I threw my back out while cringing in pain because a forklift truck drove over my foot!.. So yeah I am weak and frail like luvdisc .. and my heart is like well just like the tiny heart shaped pokémon. Yet luvdisc is someone who is there for you in it’s own way, in its vulnerability it drops an item called heart scales, which in the pokéverse allows other pokémon to remember previous or hidden moves. Because going skiing with me equals death for me , and because playing a game of soccer results into me being crippled for a few days after.. i’ve always preferred to spend time with my friends in a bit more tranquility. We talk I’ve become the group psychologist in a way. At times I have to remind them who they are, something that has been actively asked of me,  or help them find their strength again when they lose it. So In a way my love is like a Heart Scale. So Luvdisc and me are a pretty good match!….Oh and we are both flat!

Physical Sweeper: Magikarp (Water)

A long time ago a friend sang a song about me , how utterly physical incapable I am. I just flop and fumble around, just like Magikarp whom we talked about earlier on this site. I once had to box in highschool and I was knocked out by the tiniest girl in class because of how I was flailing.  When someone is asking to help them move I get skipped.. because I CAN help you get rid of stuff.. if you want to keep it , your probably better of asking someone else. I guess a Magikarp Gijinka ( human form anime like person thingy) would be a Dojikko.. like me. That’s a difficult weeb word for Klutz-Archetype-Girl. I broke a boat once.. well it’s railing. I held it in such a cramped manner that somehow I broke it.. in two spots..(sat at different places)  of course this resulted into that part of the railing sinking and some turkish boater looking at me REALLY angrily but hey I broke a metal rod in half… twice.. while not even trying, while feeling miserable. (I get sea sick while floating on an aircraft in a pool let alone on a fast boat) Kind of like how Magikarps flail attack works. While I am helpless on my own , my dads words as much as mine, my friends seem to be able to push me beyond my limits. I’ve danced on a small ledge seven meters/21 feet in the air on some scaffolding..without dropping. I have passed ONE running gym class (because a friend buffed me)  and I managed to climb a rope , which I never could before. Now these might not seem like big feats but due to my weird muscle and movement disorder these are quite legendary achievements for myself. Climbing that rope up all the way to the ceiling feels like one shotting Rayquaza, to pass the shuttle run test felt like beating the mighty mewtwo and dancing while not falling from scaffolding felt like conquering Ultra Necrozma himself. Sure I might have ended up blacking out from running after I got the passing grade, and I might not have fallen of that scaffolding but I can’t say the same about that rope and I might have hurt me still while climbing down the scaffolding .. but that is besides the point. My friends made me greater than I would be able to be myself and I manage to beat big obstacles that way just like that fish. Friendship is magic.

Special Wall: Chansey (Normal)

It’s pink, it dies a lot slower then you expect it too, it’s all about helping others and it hates children so much it keeps tossing it’s own egg. This is a good summary of me, with the exception that I do not throw my eggs about … even if I did they would not land where I’d aim them anyway..as well as it would be kinda lewd and I don’t do lewd stuff. Chansey is one of my all time favorite pokémon ever and it fits me very well as a person as well. Chansey’s role is to survive a lot of special attacks. No mind games can break Chansey and I am the same. Sticks and stones will break my bones.. even if they are just there on the floor, but mind games not so much. Sure you can be openly toxic to me and I crumble like Betty White on a trampoline, but try to play me and you get nothing. Special tricks do not harm me and I am to dense  and panda to understand flirting and innuendo. You can call me out on what or who I am, call me names and i’ll stand tall. Link it to something and I crumble. ‘Hey your a girl.. means you are a slut’ I can handle. ‘You can’t write for shit.. but you do it anyway because you are so full of yourself’ will make me cry my eyes out. … I might have been better off had i not told you that. I can face adversity well enough let’s keep it at that , despite being faced with a lot of adversity in the more intangible regions I still stand here. Chansey is like that as well having incredible longevity and durability against the non physical. We both cosplay..though I don’t get away as easy when cosplaying as a nurse. We both are pink and both of us like making others feel better. Finally both of us are on our best while we don’t fully grow up. Chansey is more durable than her evolution while holding an item called Eviolite,  and I am just much more charming like this.

Special Sweeper: Gardevoir (Psychic-Fairy)

Being a Psychic Fairy-Type Gardevoir is both cute and smart. I’d like to say the same thing about myself. Like Gardevoir I do like mind games. Board game night with friends is particularly fun for me , because I do not only play the games, I play my friends as well. I must admit I am pretty darn good at it too. While playing the zombie survival game dead of winter I can tell which of my friends are a betrayer through the subject we talk about during the game. While playing Munchkin I notice if someone can stop my attack by the way they hold their cards. After which I can play them around, I managed to manipulate the munchkin player into thinking the right play was to help me..because I made the number two come after me hard, who also had a chance at winning. I made the betrayer think I was a betrayer as well  asking him for a hand out of items (which you can do in that game) and revealing his betrayal. They were gonna exile me after my turn because they believed I was a traitor yet I ended up saving the game. I am very good at play into each other’s mind games like Dixit and Mysterium as well. I just love it. Playful being Gardevoirs Fairy typing and the Psychic Typing explaining the mind games. We are both very girly as well, share about the same skin pigmentation. Physically we both aren’t a presence but mentally we can blow you away!

 Legendary: Mew (Psychic)

When you can’t find us there is quite a possibility you can find both or any of us under a truck. In my case for different reasons than Mew’s though.  Joking aside, I chose Mew as my legendary because we are both the creators of world’s . While arguably Arceus has created the world and the legendaries created the land, the sea, the sun the moon and all that jazz respectively.. Mew created Pokémon life… without the little bugger it would just be another world. I like to write stories create my own worlds, not only as a blogger but also as a dungeon master. Having finished a Digimon campaign, having ended a Star Wars campaign and currently hosting an Contemporary- Anime-Eldritch, High Fantasy & Pokémon game I like Mew like to create plenty of life forms. From the depths of my mind they all come to existence and to life as each week me and my friends gather to enact these stories.  They are my pride and joy and much like my blogs my babies. Mew creates content for me to blog about, I make Mews creations come to life in a new way. Be it a Fairy-Type tale or in a design for my very own pokémon game. We are pink cute creationary forces..although I am not legendary………………………………………………yet.

Profiling myself was a hoot and a half! Do you have a character or person you like to see profiled let me know in the comments or at least leave a like.  I hope to see you in the next post my little Watsons!

Classic Review: Pokémon Snap

Yay it’s finally saturday, which means I can finally come out to play! The others Pinkie’s might be bigger than me and have like important jobs and such …but just because I am just a chibi doesn’t mean you can think little of me! I am the Pinkie that discusses like the actual fun of playing like the games or who plays with the toys and the likes. Today I decided a classic Pokémon game a lot of people seem to like! My Pokémon Fun the Mime Jr will play it along side of me! Even if this is a single player game! Today me and Fun wil play Pokémon Snap on Nintendo 64.

The concept

Uhm even though I find this a bit of a difficult word, the main Pinkie told me I should talk  about what’s the game about here so here goes! This game is like a 3d on rail shooter… but like not one of those mean ones where you kill people or monsters while a lot of angry music blasts through your speakers. In this game you shoot, with a roll of film… well quite a few a rolls actually.  You play the role of Todd “Gimme any name’ Snap. A photographer that one his adventures once encountered a Mew but Mr Snap failed to snap it on camera. Luckily after he is tired of the Pokédex and Red, Oak calls Todd to investigate a mysterious place called Pokémon Island. On this Island Mew is to roam and it’s up to our generic looking hero to succeed where he failed before. Generic looking as he may be, he has a nice short! Gotta love the colour. Poké-Island is pretty rough terrain for a hike though, so luckily professor Oak shows us his skill in engineering as he made an all  terrain vehicle named the Zero-One… and I mean ALL-Terrain. Mr Snap can take this yellow basket looking vehicle thing out to seven stages that unlock as you complete puzzles or score enough points. Yes points, rather than paying the young photographer in cash, professor Oak hands him points based on how good your photograph is. Earn enough points and you will get new tools and sometimes stages. Solving puzzles with these tools will allow you to snap new pokémon or progress in the game even further. It is a nice idea that is executed quite well and some puzzles are very clever, but more on that later. A lot of people are still hoping for a sequel and given how far the pokémon world has progressed  it could make for a nice beefy and mostly relaxing game! This one really misses out on the beefy part.

The Atmosphere

Professor Pinkie told me, I should tell how a game looks, sounds and feels on this spot. So I think, this is what Pokémon Snap does best! It looks super cute! The pokémon are very recognisable and are lively, they do their own thing and if you bonk them with an apple or pester ball on the head they react to it in a funny way! The best thing is, Pokémon have their anime cries. That means every single pokémon states their name or a part of it. Jigglypuff sings it’s iconic song if you save it in a cave, Pikachu is full of Pika-Pika’s and shellder pop out of the water with their cute..yet somehow annoying shell, cry. The 7 stages are very diverse and though they are short they are filled with fun things and easter eggs. Like a surfboard for Pikachu or zelda like walls. Of course this is a game of 19 years ago and yes you will spot it, but the way they move and flow around, it really doesn’t feel that old. The fact that this thing is on rails instead of a massive stretch of land might really help with that. The Pokémon theming is done very VERY well. Originally this game would be launched as Jack and the Beanstalk for something called the Nintendo 64DD , which was supposed to be like an extension or something, but with that falling through Pokémon Snap was born.  Normally when a game originally is something else you really notice it. Think Super Mario Land 2 for example. You can easily tell it was Doki Doki Panic first, well not the title of course.. but you can tell it used to be a NOT mario game. Snap can let you lure a slowpoke to a shellder infested river so it can evolve, you can see meowth being mischievous and you can see Snorlax sleeping peacefully. Everything FEELS like pokémon. They look like Pokémon and sound like Pokémon as well. Graveler looks kinda bad though!

Except for Graveler not being as sleekly designed as he could be, the only complaint I have is how boring the non pokémon stuff is. The nature in stages are fine.. but the items and technology thingies are bland and seem to not contribute anything. Todd is blander than Pidgey and never gets anything going for him. The Zero-One.. though practical.. is just a basket on wheels and doesn’t really seem like the best thing to send on this adventure. That loading screen where Oak waves at the Snap kid makes them both look terrible. However this is kind of a nitpick, cause you only see those elements at the beginning and ending of a stage. The stages themselves like the pokémon are wonderful and varied.

Technical Thingies

So how is the game build? Did the makers do their jobs well?  Does it control well? I really liked the easy controls myself, even though that Nintendo 64 controller  kinda looks like an evil spaceship thingy that can easily cripple you. The biggest problem with Pokémon Snap’s  control on the original system actually is Mario Party. I played a lot of Mario Party on my N64 so all my controllers are a bit..wonky because of certain spin the analogue stick mini games. This gave me some issues while playing this, but for the most time it worked well.  Controls are fairly decently chosen , though I personally would have preferred all items to work from the C pad, like Zelda instead of just one. That being said the apple and the pester ball are a lot more frequent so I get why this was chosen still as soon as you unlock everything it kinda feels odd. Except for some pop up here and there, the game feels quite smooth actually. The main part of the game , shooting pictures works wonders! I like the Z button for photograph mode controls. It is easy to take cute snaps, and easy to send them to the professor. Everything flows. .. except for the throwing.  Throwing apples and pester balls onto pokémon reacts way to specifically. There is no auto-aim whats so ever so be prepared to toss a gazillion apples. Hitboxes can be weird at times and sometimes you knock a pokémon back with a pester ball but sometimes you need an apple for that same job. The balls are filled with some annoying gaslike thing so it would make sense to for it to have an extended hitbox..but no to pester a pokemon you gotta hit it flat on the head. Aside from tossing the technical side is solid as a rock-type though.

The gameplay

Many people adore this game and in the general review scene it would score between a 7,5 and 8,5 out of 10. There is one magazine that has a really weird point score that goes up to 40 and I think they got 30 or so there. Though I had amazing fun playing this game.. I am more in line with the review people as the general public.  This game is not a timeless classic. It’s a snack that is great fun. Though it is great fun to take all the snapshots, the fact that it doesn’t feature all 151 original pokémon is understandable, yet 63 feels like such an odd number as well, especially how easy it is to get them. While progressing to mew, I discovered 54 species without any trouble.  In part because of the gameplay in my eyes biggest flaws. Pictures professor Oak disapproves off still count towards your “Pokédex’
You can litteralty shoot the foot of Kangaskhan in the first stage and it will still be logged towards your completion process. Though your point count helps unlock items, like the Pokéflute, making bad photos still counts, just very slowly. It takes away some of the magic of the game. Puzzles however are positively interesting. There are spots where pokémon can evolve if you interact with it in a specific way. Knock that charmeleon into a lava pit with an apple and bam you have charizard.  Toss an item at Electrode and it will self destruct, which might unlock new secrets, bait a Slowpoke to a shellder pool and congratulations that Slowpoke evolves into a Slowbro! These are fun and oftenly quite clever. Puzzles that you need to complete are nicely telegraphed to the player without it being in your face obvious on your first run either, you really need to look around! These are even fun for non-pokémon players. The only one that might not work for a non Poké-player would be the Slowbro one because the evolution lore is never conveyed to the player. Maybe the diglett you have to snap three times as well.  All the other puzzles are something the game can communicate to you and you find out by playing around with your items and pokemon. Progression is possible for everyone and the game knows what it is doing and relays the needed information to it’s players.

Unfortunately all that cleverness is thrown out the window for the final encounter. The way you snap Mew is so dumb that it aggravates me.  Once you enter the rainbow cloud you see Mew in a barrier that lights up once you photograph it, ensuring it will not be seen. You solve this by tossing apples onto it’s barrier until they break it.  The Pokémon that created all Pokémon life, who has the power to learn every more, shoot fire that can melt through mountains, that inspired the ultimate weapon Pokémon.. which was basically just a clone.. can be stopped by six apples.  How cool would it have been if we could use everything we learned so far to break it’s barrier. Knock a zubat out of the sky with an apple so it heals it.. losing energy to his barrier, then wake up a pokémon with the flute while we see Mew losing some energy playing with it. Using the dash engine to ram into the barrier while it gets closer and the likes.  Or keep it even cuter. Feed a pokémon with an apple, save a pokemon being bullied with a pester ball, wake a sleeping mother pokemon so she can take care of her kids and eventually Mew sees you love pokémon and reveals itself. Instead we really do get in my opinion of of the worst final stages in gaming history! Meany developers this could have ended so amazing.

I would not have minded the final stage so much if the road towards it was nice and beefy, but you can finish this game  very easily. Within 3 to 6 hours you can beat this game if you can keep your eyes peeled, maybe a bit more if you don’t have the logic sense of a gamer. Speedrunners are even able to 100% complete this game in 24 minutes. That time gap is mostly due to the second gameplay element that can feel a bit iffy, the photo ratings.
At the end of each stage Professor Oak will give you an evaluation of your Pokémon. Size, Pose and is it in the middle of the camera.  That last one works perfectly. The other two are sometimes a bit hard to find out what oak exactly likes to see. A pokémon doing an attack will always give you good points but not every pokémon does that. Sometimes the pose is connected to a seemingly random set of frames. I managed to capture a dragonite during my run and it popped out with a huge smile on it’s face and the moment I snapped it it looked exactly like it was giving me a thumbs up. It was the cutest photo I took during those 3  and a bit hours and Oak didn’t like it all that much! Waaaaaaah! My favorite photograph!
The ratings can make the game feel a bit more static, but if you are just out here to be driven around in the cart and snap Pokémon it’s nothing too bad. It just can break your heart a little of that greyed fool baka meany professor doesn’t like that one truly amazing photograph.

Score

I truly loved replaying this game, I had an amazing time while playing it. Yet though I love spending time with this game, I do not necessarily love the game.  It is definitely worth picking up for an evening when you just want to relax and it ages amazingly well. It doesn’t feel all that retro, in a way it still feels like a modern game. It feels like one of those 20 dollar games you buy on steam these days, you know it’s short but it’s great while it lasts and it’s flaws are easily ignorable for how long the game lasts.  The game feels like it was made for “one evening’ and one might argue we should judge it as such. But I am not going to do that. It feels wrong. It feels like saying you love a hooker as much as a wife/girlfriend/husband/boyfriend . Simply because  the one may satisfy you fully that one time doesn’t mean she is 100% satisfactory! Pokémon Snap is an enjoyable ride but it is not something you will come back to each night.  It might not it’s intention to last for longer but if we go compare it to a life partner, those can still be fun for that one particular night as well as an entire life. That is why I mark Snap one grade own!

<\ I really need to talk to this girl about her analogies ‘Pinkie Prime>

I am absolutely eager to see a sequel game  someday with hopefully just a bit more flesh on it’s bones and a better final encounter.Until then snacking this will have to do!  Have you ever played Snap? What monster did snap on camera last? Next week you will find me shouting at a pikachu but remember:
I am not weird, just very pink!
Until we read again.

Pink-Poke-News Week 31

While this post is going online, I am getting ready to let my Pokémon pen and paper roleplaying group hunt for some shinies in Kalos. So should there be any breaking news. It will be in the next one. That being said. This week was a sloooooow news week for Pokémon. Slower than a Shuckle. These news flashes are all somewhat lackluster and very region specific. Given my followers are literally spread all across the world it means we are going to have a bit creative. Luckily at Pink-Poké-News our catchphrase is ‘the news….but way less objective’ So that being said…. *imagine a nice news theme again please*

Top Story: Pinkie breaks 25 followers
Good day little monsters, reporter Pinkie Cherryblossom here with today’s top story.
With a grant twelve days to spare Pinkie’s Pokemon has now grown with over 25 followers. With about 40 to 60 views per day, this means the site has now become stable enough to move forward to a paid plan. This will lead to some amazing new features in the new future. What can the followers expect? Pinkie, unable to speak directly to me, mostly because I am her and not psychotic enough today to interview myself, has issued a statement on the matter. ‘First of all we will get some minor designs. Of course the Pokéball  theme and general layout will remain the same. However the banner as well as the background when viewed at pc will get a small overhaul. Some minor elements in posts might be changed as well, if we can figure out the tools. Expect some changes to be held in some categories. Mon-days for example will most likely change to Professor Pinkie’s Pokédex. While Theory Thursday will be replaced by Detective Pinkie’s Casefiles. In the latter will we not only be able to discuss pokémon theories but also rumors and analytic pieces. Categories will no longer strictly be bound to a day. While my aim is to still follow the old schedule, this allows more liberties to create content. Categories will be based on several Pinkie Persona’s. Going into content a bit more specific , you can expect more of the same with just a dash of added flavour by the several personas. I also hope to add some interaction with followers, how I will do it will remain a surprise for now. Expect a lot of updates , alongside your expected content in the very near future. With that said it’s time to set a new goal of 50 followers. Having no insight in how long it would take to grow from here we will just say, we hope to see some progress towards this goal by Pinkie’s birthday , being November 17th. It’s time for Pinkie’s Pokémon to evolve!
Once more we like to thank everyone making the dream of a Pokéblog a reality!

Plushies on the news!
The fact that these even make the news show how little news there has been in the Pokéfront.  Sure I could tell you how the United States lowered the minimum points to participate in the world championship,  I could tell Canada and Taiwan can play Pokemon Masters and that five star trainer good trainer drop-rates seem low and crystal are expensive as ‘playing together’ bell. (I wonder why i censor myself this much) but eh! I said all I could say about it in a single line of text. Now Plushies I can talk about! Pokémon Center USA, here we go again with the blipping regional POOchyena, has announced a few new plushies coming in their lineup. I will consider this news because usually when the usa center gets it, it isn’t as impossible obtain for others either, at least after a while. Why am I highlighting these? Well I find the quality of Meltan and Melmetal a bit off. The nut they have for their head doesn’t look defined enough for me and Melmetal looks a bit off.

That doesn’t mean they can’t or should be loved, I don’t want to hurt their feelings or make them sad (this genuinely is a concern for me .. I legitimately imagine them being saddened by my words, and feel guilty  because of it.) but I feel it would have been better if these were more like the Steelix plush. Steel types plushies is a bit weird anyhow.. even though they of course deserve hugs as well. The second one I want to highlight is this Mareep

It’s a cute Mareep..but what makes it newsworthy? The fact that it’s a $500 dollar plushie!! That’s right, this Mareep can give you a lot of love but it will also cost you a lot of money! Why so much cash is needed for little thing? Well thats because it’s huuuuge! Sixty centimeters high (24 inches) and about over a meter long (44 inches) Mareep is basically a 1:1 scale model of the monster, without the risk of electrocution when you hug it. This one makes me double sad though! Not only am I about $700 dollars short of obtaining it my apartment is way too small to display a full sized sheep as well.

Unified Minds launched

Believe it or not, there was some actual news! Pokémon Go released some new shadow Pokémon, but in the eyes of this reporter that is not news because those are the laziest of lazy design. Just red eyes and black and purple flames. They suck! The Team Rocket Battles are extremely cruel! Today I had to take down 3 8200CP Shadow Snorlax using a team of 3 mons in the low 3000’s. Having failed, this news reporter had to conclude that this update truly sucks. It  marginalises it’s news value, as this is only for the elite. I still managed to inform you all though! Speaking of updates, there has been one this week i really like. Namely for the TCG, that is short for trading card game for those who might wonder. This new cardset is amazing though. Like the last two sets Tean Up and Unbroken Bonds this set is all about the so called Team Up cards. Pokémon Cards that feature two pokémon.  Their mechanics usually involve having a surplus of energy for improved effects. Unlike the last set however, being Unbroken Bonds, pull-rates seem to be favorable. The set features plenty of new cards of most types. Fairy-types and fighting types however have a weak presence in this set, so if you run a brown or pink deck this might not be the set for you.
Card Hunters should be on the lookout for the secret rare Cherish Ball, Full Art Misty’s and of course all the team-up ultra rare cards. Unified Minds is named thusly because of the presence of Mew and Mewtwo Team-Up.  Their ability allows them to use the attacks of any EX or GX card on your bench or graveyard, making the unified minds name most fitting. The reporter , running an X&Y series brown deck as well as a desire to build a pink deck has little use for this set, yet can not help but be fascinated with some amazing card art in the set. She will probably end up buying at least a few packs to hunt for the Alternative (not Full)  Art Raichu and Alolan Raichu card, because that is just so insanely adorably cute!

Let’s Go Sword and Shield Goodness
Though these are currently just circulating around in the United States or other countries available for the reporter, the Switch is finally getting some love as well.
First of all throughout several countries in Europe, including Germany and France,  have begun distributing Giovanni’s Mewtwo as a special event Pokémon. It has all it’s stats maxed out knowing the moves Amnesia, Teleport, Recover and Psychic. Neat to have but I would have preferred a certain pink Pokémon that now costs about 40 bucks to  add to the game. My Mewtwo is all candied up already because I really wanted to defeat that darn master trainer after all. We also finally got some insight in the benefits of buying a Pokémon Sword and Shield dual set, you know the bundle that cost exactly how much the two games cost separately! If you get it at a Pokémon center you get a keychain of each of the three starters.  A nice way to sweeten the pot a little but now the reporter has a much worse pick to make. Sobble is already the starter I selected..but know I have to pick which of the other ones will be my first keychain…in order words which one do I have to leave behind? Perhaps we can get the third one as a plush!  Zacian and Zamazenta will also get a little love in the form of their design decorating a new Switch Lite. You know that Switch that you can’t actually switch and is just a handheld. Though the design is beautiful , the reporter still questions the design choices about this device. I get just playing it handheld, but without the removable controllers, you can’t multiplayer, you can’t ever hook it up to your tv and you can’t mario party! That seems a steep price considering how much money you actually save. Maybe they are nice for a collector though! Still a neat goodie!

This concludes this week’s news!Tune in next week for more extremely biased reports and more PINK-POKÉ-NEWS. Likes and comments are always appreciated…except from you Nestle! I know you think my content is amazing, but you are being very non descriptive about it! As you could read, I am already planning for the future..not sure how you can help with that! See you in the spam folder? Same time? The rest of my dear little monsters Thanks for the support and I hope to see YOU in the comment section and in my follower list!
Stay Pink!

Mewtwo: The pokemon that can defeat god!

A boop on your snoot little monsters! Nice to have you reading this post
Another Monday , another Mon-Day. Time to discuss another little beastie in depth.
Today I have chosen to pick at least one that is at least a favorite of one of my followers, but I do think there will be more fans out there. The pinnacle of human creations, Mewtwo.

Dark Origins
Mewtwo was the first “final” pokemon in our games, the anime and movies connected it highly to team rocket, and since at least in Europe we got the anime before we got the game, Mewtwo has always seem very ominous, but with a few misconceptions. Many believe that Team Rocket has created this Pokémon, but this isn’t true at all. The true creator of Mewtwo is Mr Fuji and his science team. Mister Fuji is that nice guy , you meet in lavender town, who ends up giving you his Pokéflute after you put Marowaks soul to rest. He has shown great care for Pokémon and even orphans in general. However, it turns out this sweet little old man, at least in the past, wasn’t that nice after all. He was involved in some shady business. Going on an expedition to capture mew, to obtain it’s dna  and from it create an embryo , which they would genetically alter to create the ultimate pokémon. The story here gets a bit vague as we have come conflicting sources, some claim that Mewtwo was grown in a testtube some say that Mewtwo was grown inside Mew, the manipulated embryo being placed back inside mew so it would carry it’s altered child. What we DO know for sure is that on the 6th of February Mewtwo was born.

The picture of the other birth was a bit to ikcy.

Research Disclaimer
Before I move any further, a little explanation on how things will be compiled.  Only sources set in at least a remotely similar world to the game will be used. Humans and Pokémon both have to live there, with pokeball technology being a thing. Any lore from for example the mystery dungeon universe or the mobile game Pokémon Quest..alongside any fan made games, are not taken into consideration. Conflicting variations will be reported, however for the sake of cohesiveness we will not consider alternate timelines. If the anime shows something that isn’t explored at all in the games, it will be the only thing we go on and use it to sketch our profile of Mewtwo without constantly mentioning which source says what.  That would not make this a fun read, nor would it tell us much about mewtwo if we only use one source. So let’s drop the judgment hammer and just enjoy a cool story about a cool pokémon.

Pinkie’s Science Seal of Approval

A living weapon
Mewtwo is a bipedal feline-human like pokemon of extraordinary power. It’s coloured in a  pale gray and purple colour scheme, it’s fingertips being balled as well as an appendix connecting his head to it’s lower back give it an alien like  and ominous appearance. The shiny variation of mewtwo holds a military/natural green colour similar to the shiny colours used on many purple Pokémon, Espeon possibly being the best comparison. Both purple and green looks succeed in giving mewtwo this incomprehensible, what the frizzestick is this kind of look.  You know when you see a Mewtwo something is not ‘right’ about it Which is completely true. Mewtwo in it’s very core has been designed to be “not right’. It was just designed to be the ultimate pokemon battler. This meant it had to be modified , to not have any compassion. That is exacyly what Mr  Fuji did, he created a pokémon with remorse or compassion, so it would never lose focus at the task at hand.
They also killed Mew’s free roaming spirit from it’s design. Where we see Mew as something that likes to play and fly around in swirls and loops and the likes, Mewtwo was modified to not move when not needed, to conserve all his strength for battle.
Think of it like designing a chicken but instead of making it happy it can walk, it just sits there focussing on laying eggs. Any offspring it would create it would not care for..because it’s detrimental to what it was actually made for… making eggs for consumption. This is basically what Mewtwo is designed to be ..an emotionless, organisms only designed to deliver a product, in this case..battle victory. A weapon, that may live, but never was meant to have a life.

My ex-mother-in-law used to have those eaxct same eyes!

Evil eliminator or misunderstood antagonist?
One would say the difference between the game and the anime would create the biggest lore conflict, however this is not the case when we try to understand Mewtwo’s story. Though the manga depicts him as much more gruesome then the more commonly accepted media, that is a style spread throughout the whole series. With Pokémon death or trainer death actually incurring on a semi-regular basis. The world in the anime is much more gruesome and everyone is adapted for it. Mewtwo as well, but though he may completely destroy Blaine’s arm, Mewtwo’s motivations seem to stay fairly true at the source. Mewtwo is NOT the person who we Westerners believe him to be. He actually isn’t THAT evil.  In the first Pokémon movie we see Mewtwo trying to destroy humanity with a large storm, his nihilistic cruel outlook on live , making him a classic archetype villain, the likes of Frieza from dragon ball Z for example. Only to have a change of heart when Ash dies.
However if we look at the “first” first Pokémon movie, we can see that this is actually not true.
‘But Pinkie, Mewtwo was the first first Pokémon movie!’ Yes.. dear reader you are right, however there is a MASSIVE difference between the japanese version, which outdates the western version. In the original version Mewtwo isn’t as evil He is a much more naive and conflicted pokemon that simply fails to feel any positive emotions, who is acting based on what he has seen so far. His motivations do not come from a deep hate of humankind, it stems more form a hate for those who harmed him and intents to stop the hurt people but pokemon trough. By force of course because that is all he knows.

Ash using a fighting move on a psychic type, and we wonder why he never became champion!

Human DNA
It is theorised that in order to make the ultimate Pokémon, it was infused with human DNA. The fact that Mewtwo looks a lot more human than Mew and the fact that there weren’t many  other human like pokemon, let alone in their league is pretty compelling evidence towards said theory. People also use the fact that he can speak “human” as evidence for the theory. However that last one is poppycock! Mewtwo talks to people through telepathy, one can easily argue that when you project an idea in someone’s mind it will always be in the language you speak..because your brain would translate the electric pulse into ideas for you.
Pokemon also seem to understand humans extremely well, since Ash can tell Pikachu to sit on a bench and do three  somersaults, with the latter actually proceeding to do it. So it makes sense Mewtwo can project the language regardless.
However if we go back to “good guy mr Fuji”  and a deleted scene from the movie, once more evidence arises. In this scene we see Mewtwo floating in a tank alongside clones of the Kanto starters. In yet another tank however there is a young girl, mewtwo speaks too with telepathy, or at least is implied too. The young girl to be Fuji’s passed away daughter who he is trying to clone back. However the other clones deteriorate and die, mewtwo being the only one to survive. Heh,  I wonder why they decided to cut this scene from a kids movie.
From this scene however it is clear that human dna at least was present in the experiment making it plausible at least. The final evidence comes later into the series, when Mewtwo Y was revealed as the first mega evolution. However Mewtwo was able to evolve himself, while everyone needs a human for that. Perhaps because it is part human?

So adorable, baby mewtwo talking to a dead(ish) child.

The power to defeat a god.
Speaking of mega-evolutions, when Mewtwo obtained the power to go even further beyond he became more mighty than the god of the pokemon world itself. He outclassed lord Arceus himself. The potential of a pokémon in the games is expressed in base stat totals.  It’s a number to reflect how much stats a pokémon has without the meddling of any IV”s and EV”s.
Though not fully correct, due to how IV’s work let’s compare this with, how strong are they without a trainer. Regular Mewtwo’s base stat total of 680 was rarely matched, let alone surpassed in the games. However when Arceus was introduced it had a base stat of 720, and for the next few years Arceus ruled supreme. When Callum and Serena (protagonists of X and Y)  found Mewtwonite X or Y, it all changed. Mega Mewtwo became the first pokémon to surpass the god. Nowadays only accompanied by Mega Rayquaza at a grand total of 780.
This would mean that a wild Mewtwo can take Arceus in a fight.  Arceus arguably does have access to all types, and thusly would be able to play the type advantage game to keep the fight balanced. However here is where it gets scary. If we consider it’s human DNA, it would potentially mean that Mewtwo DOES have access to EV’s. Because only trainer owned Pokémon are able to get them. Mewtwo functioning due to its dna as their own master. Eliminating IV’s for the sake of.. he would not be able to reset himself, it would only grant him the ability to use the additional 510! (this is why EV training is important kids) stat points gained from EV training. Effectively that COULD mean that should a fight between Mewtwo and Arceus ensue, Mewtwo comes in at a power level of 1290 versus Arceus 720. Mewtwo being nearly TWICE as strong as Arceus in that case. If Mewtwo really does have human DNA the implications of a monster without sympathy being out there could be truly terrifying

Dillema! I only got 1 Master Ball

It’s not alone
If you ask people what their favorite legendary Pokémon is, they would most oftenly say Mewtwo, though Marshadow  is bound to get plenty of votes as well, its soooo good and super cute. Though technically still correct, it turns out Mewtwo might not even be a legendary pokemon. It would have to be the only one of it’s kind for that status in my book.
‘Well Pinkie there is only one..the one that escaped from the Pokémon Mansion on Cinnabar island’ No it’s not. The detective Pikachu movie , shown another Mewtwo being made in Rhyme city. Even if we don’t consider that particular mewtwo, even though it’s strongly implied to be set quite a few years in the future from Red and Blue,  the anime and even the games imply there is more than one. The Mewtwo captured in Kalos is never claimed to be the same one Red would have captured, given it’s lore and the fact that Red would know how it is, it seems rather unlikely he would release a monster like that anyway. The anime as well also strongly implies there are multiple mewtwo’s, both in the movies as in the tv series itself. Since it’s a perfect clone it doesn’t seem too unlikely that people who still have the research could try it again, someone recreated it or even Mewtwo itself made more of itself to fufill it’s ambition. Who or whatever did this is unknown but there is very likely more than one godslayer out their, their name is Mewtwo. All thanks to that kind Mr Fuiji

*Insert Pillar Men Theme*

Number 150 is to interesting to talk about in general to discuss battle sets and the likes, hes’s pretty much banned in each battle format anyway. If you do want a good build for Mewtwo you are always free to ask in the comments. What Pokémon would you like to see in the spotlight?
Please leave a like to make my day a little better and don’t forget to stay pink.
