Pokémon Top 5: Favorite Flying Types

Konichiwelcome everyone to yet another amazing list of amazing little creatures called Pokémon. In the previous top 5 we discussed my favorite five bug types. Lets swoop from the sky as we are super effective against bug types.. with the flying type. This list was super easy to make unlike some others. While I love the flying typing, I don’t really like flying type pokémon all that much. I don’t hate them either.. I just feel very neutral about nearly all of them, those who remain make my list!

Rules and Honorable Mentions

We have been over these rules for a few times now but for any newcomer, here is my set of rules. I always use them to point out two honorable mentions as well. The key in this all is diversity. So a dual type will only make it on ONE  lists of it’s typings. Say I like Slowbro than it would be on either my water list or my psychic list, never on both. Since the flying type is primarily used as a secondary typing this applies to SOOOO much pokémon for me. Charizard will be in my top 5 fire types.. since I find it more a fire type than a flying type so it is disqualified here. Rowlet is one of my favorite starters ever.. but I count it more as a grass type since it is the grass starter.. so it will be featured on another list.

Normally I will go by their primary typing as their main type.. but if I think a pokémon is more akin to it’s secondary typing.. like Corviknight  it will not feature here either. The biggest honorable mention and yet another spoiler for a future top 5 is Ducklett. A Water flying type.. with a pink shiny! I love ducks, I love pokémon.. I love pink..it’s perfect!

Another rule would be that I can only use one entry per evolutionary line. While I am allowed to pick my favorite of a series, I will take their entire line into account. For example I really like Ledyba, but I really dislike Ledian.. since the line has no future it will get a demerit and Ledyba will not make it on this list. I want to showcase pokémon in multiple situations.. which is also why legendaries do not make it on this list very often.

The final rule is that the pokémon has to actually feel like it’s typing. The biggest offender in this for the flying type is Gyarados. While I love Gyarados I can NOT see him as a flying types. Sure he can fly in some games and he can conjure up storms and such but the flying type is not the AIR type. With the most iconic storm (early gen)  storm moves being twister…which is a dragon type move. Gyarados is NOT a flying type it is a Water Dragon.. not a water dark either .. a water dragon.. Game Freak can tell me all it wants.. but Water-Flying is just wrong.. so obviously it doesn’t go on the flying list.

Flying Type Number 5
Chatot

For whatever ungodly reason The Pokemon Company’s policy on flying types goes a little something like this? “Is it a bird? “  If your answer is yes that pokémon is a normal/flying type. In some cases I agree, like pidgey, spearow, hoothoot and Pidove.  They are very basic animals and that gets the normal type for it. Sure! However my beloved Chatot has the head of a music note, and the tail of a metronome. It’s super colourful and has this neck collar like those coats those testosterone boys and fake tan girls wear during winter. You know the one with a dead Zigzagoon in the neck area?! Nickleson?! Not sure.. I skipped that trend. Chatot is such a weird pokémon that did such a unique thing in the world of pokémon that because of it’s sheer quirkiness quickly conquered my heart.  It is also one of the pokémon that makes the strongest case to the sound type.. a typing I hope will someday come to the game.

Chatot’s design is based on music stuff crammed onto the body of a parakeet and the design does feel truly unique and really like a pokémon. It has terrible stats and according to it’s pokédex entry is a true pacifist. It has a tongue in its beak that the same as a human tongue, having the same level of control over it as well. Thus it can mimic human speech or other pokémon cries. Which it does to befriend the pokémon to make sure it doesn’t get attacked. However this action would become one of the strangest moves in the entire pokémon series. At least for Gen IV and V. In Diamond and Pearl , Platinum , Black , White and their sequals Chatot could mimic YOUR voice. It’s signature move Chatter allowed you to record your voice and based on it’s volume it would have a better chance to confuse.

Of course this led a pokémon with only a 410 base stat total to be banned from pokémon competitions because people used it to make it should racist slurs and curse words in tournaments which is a big no no! Which lead  to Chatot being one of the weakest pokémon ever to be banned. Nowadays the move no longer has the ability to record your voice but just confuses 100% off the time.. A confusion that bypasses substitutes with a moveset that is completely catered to getting around those pesky plushies.

It has decent speed, and decent special attack and with some EV’s in those stats Chatot can become something your opponents have difficulty dealing with. I have only used it during some Romhack playthroughs but I was amazed at how good it was for Nuzlocke like situations where it can come in to confuse your enemies, set up some stat boosts during this and then keep on confusing it’s opponent. The set I enjoy playing most is with Chatter, Double Team, Work Up and Synchronoise with a healing berry. Usually with a spore or paralyse user on my team as well.

Flying Type Number 4
Noivern

In Kalos we could basically find a better version of Chatot in the form of Noivern. So this once more is a pokémon I think should get the sound typing rather than it’s Dragon Typing.  The Dragon Typing does make it very sturdy and gives it some good resistances it also becomes super frail to ice Offensively it has about the same stats as Chatot but Noivern gets a lot more speed and a lot more moves, so it is a better monster.. without the iconic move. Bat dragons are also kind of cooler than a Parakeet.. yet at the same time it is kind of edgy! I do like myself a bit of colour and cute.. but I really gotta admire this design regardless. It looks strong and fierce and like a flying type! It feels like it could be a Jojo Stand if it had some mechanical parts.

Noivern has a great roll in the X&Y anime or XY&Z I guess but  that always helps make a pokémon more coveted. We see so much of it’s personality and Noivern is great. One of my favorite Ash Pokémon ever. The Kalos Region was my favorite when it comes to Ash adventures and him having cool pokémon like these really helped. While the one Mister Ketchum owned seemed sweet enough it looks mean so let’s look at the pokédex entries.

Apparantly nothing can defeat it when fighting in the dark, it can use echolocation to find you.. these waves are so strong they can turn boulders to pebbles. These same waves can be use to weaken their opponents as it will use it’s fangs to finish it’s prey off! That’s more like it! However ONE pokédex entry makes it seem like a sweetheart yet again. While it is always being described as cruel and vicious giving one a nice ripe fruit of the flavor that it likes will make it instantly tame… nawwww who is a big hungry night sky killer!

Now in combat Noivern is a bit weird. By far it’s best ability is infiltrator. Which allows you to bypass substitutes. However it’s moveset is mostly soundbased.. which bypasses substitutes.  I mean I still run it with BoomBurst because it offers a nice guaranteed neutral move, Draco Meteor, Hurricane and Dark Pulse with Choice Specs as a item. When it’s available to me in playthroughs of Rom Hacks or Fan games I prefer to give it an assault vest so I can capitalize on the Dragon Type resisting just about everything except for Dragon Fairy and Ice. Dark Pulse can be replaced by Flamethrower so it can cover its main weakness, it WILL outspeed virtually all Ice Types but I found going with the dark pulse to be nicer so it can deal with psychic types or ghost types that outspeed it and deal neutral damage.

Flying Type Number 3
Ho-Oh

Ho-Oh is my favorite legendary bird and one of my favorite legendaries ever. There is just something about the way it was build up from the first episode to the anime before meeting it in Pokémon Gold at the top of Tin Tower. I am not sure why, but Moltres never really felt like a phoenix to me.. I love phoenixes, is that the corrupt plural? Phoenixci ? Just Phoenix? So I was happy to be given a proper one! Pokémon Gold is my favorite pokémon game so I am sure that helps as well. It doesn’t help it is the rainbow pokémon either! And just look at the design it is so much cooler than Lugia’s! Who wants a white fish bird when you can have a phoenix.

It loves other pokémon and brought back to life the three legendary dogs, it is said to bring about happiness to everyone who own one of it’s feathers. It is even said to live near a rainbow! It is so cute!  Fire and flying is an excellent defensive typing only being weak to water, electric and rock type moves. Resisting Steel , Fairy and Fighting type moves  it resists some of the most competitive typings being immune to ground which is yet another dominant typing. Another sign that this pokémon can play nice with a lot of people! It doesn’t seem to like rock types very much though, being 4x weak to them. His weakest stat his physical defence is also exploited by the fact that rock type moves usually are physical. I guess there is no brown in the rainbow! Does that also mean anime girls never throw up rocks? In that case I might be doing something wrong.

Ho-Oh as a legendary really benefits from the very healthy post game in pokémon Gold and Heartgold, there is still an entire region to run through so the legendary is actually useful for more than the pokémon league alone. Which makes it al lot more viable than other pokémon. The fact that it is a physical fire type also distinguishes it from its peers. Sacred Fire, Brave Bird, Recover, Zen Headbutt is a nice set to run on this beast, yet because it is physical it is also one of the best fly users. You can take the HM to zip around and still have it deal massage damage. It has superb special defence and it it’s special attack is also good enough so you can run it as a special attacker.

Flying Type Number 2
Togekiss

A slightly less amazing special tank of the sky is my penultimate favorite flying type. Togekiss. Togetic was a lame evolution of an adorable pokémon that just felt lackluster, keeping the pokémon off my team during my Gold playthrough. By the time I obtained a Heart Gold Cartridge .. things changed though because now the little bugger could evolve. Togekiss is the perfect little Egg-Angel a girl could wish for.. Maybe it’s more an Angelic-Egg than the other way around though. It’s design is rather unique and feels adorable trough all three steps, the fact that it evolves to friendship and shiny energy .. really make it a pokémon I really dig. The white red and blue composition with its abstract shape make it feel like a Mondrian painting. It has the lamest shiny though.. instead of white with a blue gloss it is white without a gloss more pure white.

It’s one of the happiest Pokémon in terms of lore as well. Misty eventually leaving Togetic behind was one of the saddest moments I saw in the anime but reading Pokédex entries warms my heart again. So Togekiss is such an improvement.  The Jubilee Pokémon is the pacifist pokémon. It will never show itself to people seeking conflict. Yet when you respect other people and animals rights it will share it’s blessings with you. How cute! It will even bring you gifts if you are a sweet person. Think of all the gifts we good get just by being nice to each other! So not only is the design is sweet, this pokémon would actively make you a better pokémon. I am pretty sure that pokémon battling counts as conflict though so .. it gets a bit confusing from there! Since it is actually quite useful in battle and it needs battle to level up.

Like I said before Togekiss is quite tanky on the special defence side of things. Equipped with the abilities like  Serene Grace and Super Luck you can build some various sets build around landing critical hits or special effects. Mostly Serene Grace and Special Effects make this pokémon quite nice to use. Land Flinches more easily with, Getting a Burn to half your opponents physical attributes. It can become really good with moves like Ancient Power and Stored Power combined with Serene Grace as well. Moves like Wish to give it reliable recovery are always good on it as well. You can have a lot of fun with this Angelic Egg! Fairy Flying is a great offensive typing  and no slouch defensively either. It has a fair few weaknesses but it’s immunity to Ground and Dragon can get you a long way.

My Favorite Flying Type
Archeops

With distance Archeops is my favorite flying pokémon! I LOVE this pokémon. It is my favorite fossil Pokémon ever, it would be my favorite rock type but I chose to elect this as flying type rather than a rock type. While I get classifying dinosaurs as Rock types, the fact that all fossils except for the Gen VIII ones are all rock types makes me distinguish them by secondary type. Thus Archeops to me counts as a flying type. It is based on the first bird and is a mix between dinosaur and a bird and I love that design. It makes for such a good fossil pokémon. It is really funny to me as well.

So while this pokémon is the predecessor of all birds it isn’t a strong flyer. It can’t take off at will it needs a running head start, it can run up to 25 miles per hour and flies slower.  So .. down hill you might be able to catch up to it on a bike.. else on a simple scooter. However with a speed modifier of 110 this thing is quite fast in game. It’s best move is a flying type move which according to it’s lore is a weaker attribute of the pokemon. I like my clunky pokémon and this to me is the pinnacle of clunky . It’s fly animation also is so adorably choppy! It is the perfect way to amalgamate types like Rock and flying! It’s shiny is bad but that goes for most things on this list.  I like Ho-Oh’s and Chatot’s fine but the rest is meh. Archeops I really love for how it battles though.

Archeops is one of those negative ability pokémon people can make fun off. Along with Slaking, and Regigigas it has one of those as well. As a result it’s base stat total is a very respectable 570 though , but in Archeops case it’s stats get cut in half as soon as it gets under half HP. Before that moment it has an amazing 140 attack stacks and 112 special attack.  Which means this barely flying bird can hurt! It is usually run with the move acrobatics. A base 55 power move that grows a lot stronger if Archeops doesn’t hold an item. This essentially means that in normal playthroughs this thing is a monster! I had an Archen (the pre-evolution) named Flock in Black and White. Flock was named because it was a flying rock. I loved Flock so much that I actually bred it’s offspring to use in Pokémon Y.  It’s son Minairal became was the first level 100 pokémon I ever had. I just had so much fun using it naturally leveled up to level 100. Acrobatics, Rock Slide, Dragon Claw and Fly made this pokémon nearly the only one I used. If Minairal is so fun to level to max.. I bet it deserves my number 1 spot.

Yet another type has been charted! More pocket monsters received love! We are now only at 1/3th of the pokémon type list journey! Next week the Electric type will go up! Who is your favorite flying type?! Do you use this type a lot?
Tell me all about it in the comments! Until then! Fly you fools!

Pokémon can be Anime Girls too!

In my previous blog I tried I tried to add some depth to this blog by telling you about my beliefs and go a bit philosophical. Since I aim to mostly be kawaii and endearing though I gotta bring some cuteness to this place as well. Hopefully this title already drew you in .. because it is absolutely true! Pokémon can be anime girls too! The fusion between these things is a phenomenon called Moemon!

I want to be Kawaii-Desu
Like no one ever was!

Welcome to the wonderful world of rom-hacking, where goku can be in a pokémon game! For many years people have added their favorite things into the world of pokémon! Like candies, memes and fusions. Yet of course only the most briljant of minds have come up with the ultimate idea. We made guns and warships into anime girls, we made soda cans into anime girls and even bowser. If we can try to wrinkle our sheets with Soda surely some underaged pokémon cosplayers should be possible right?! YES!

In the world of Moemon you catch little girls in your balls and command them to do whatever you want. I am sure this idea will please some of my readers but me myself I mostly like it because it is super cute. All the girls have adorable outfits and it is just a treat to find your new cute anime girls and make them do battle. There is something about a cute maid girl using rest that I just find much more charming than an actual Snorlax using it. Also my brain works over time. What if Ash got a Moe instead of regular Pikachu? Some scenes clearly would have to be rewritten. The ketchup thing would hold up nicely though! Bye Bye Butterfree would suddenly have some clear Yuri implications so I do see this show really working!

It’s a Shoujo World we live in.
TUTUTUTUTU

Now Moemon is not just a pokémon fan game it’s a phenomenon a series of hacks that still get better and regularly receive updates. The most complete version you can play and the most commonly found around the web is the Fire-Red rom hack. In this day and age it has added new moves, it added the fairy typing (which only existed after Kalos.. thus not in most playable rom hacks)  and even adds some Mega evolution Moe to the mix. Kawaii! However this is also the only one that is currently not optimised for randomisation. For those who don’t know what I mean.. there are little programs you download that reshuffle your pokédex order in some shape way or form so you don’t always have to pick from Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Charmander in the beginning, it might be randomised to anything.

It can also randomise, field encounters, static encounters and even pokemon trainers use…as well as items , trainer names, their sprites and more So who knows.. instead of a pidgey you might encounter a Mewtwo. You just run a rom through your randomiser, pick some settings you like and ponf! It spits out a new rom! For the moe surprise effect I really would recommend playing a randomised version.

(Giggity)

Luckily Moemon is also available for Pokémon Platinum, Pokémon Heartgold and Pokémon Emerald. These can be randomised for the most crazy shoujo experience you ever had. I might do a Emerald Randomiser Moemon Nuzlocke slow blog at one point if you people would be up for it! I really don’t want to walk across Kanto anymore for a while. Johto or Hoenn I would be fine with! Unfortunately these games are not that easy to download. It requires patching some roms fiddling with emulators and applying a randomiser yourself. It’s all fairly easy stuff but you need some help of our good friend google to actually get it right. I am really terrible with these kinds of things for some reason so if I ever do that let’s play thingy don’t shoot me if something completely glitches out!

I wanna be a Moe!
MOEMON ADVANCED

Unfortunately Moemon .. as for right now at least, is not a lot more than a sprite swap. Which means that the story is exactly the same as in the original games. Moe’s are still referred to as Pokémon and no dialogue or trainer models have been replaced.  While the fire red version has received modern updates and features the fairy typing , altered stats , mega evolutions and the likes you still fight Giovanni and Lance.. and of course that guy with the really good knows that always keeps smelling you later.

Trough yet another mod you can install onto the game you can replace Moe Umbreon and Moe Espeon by Moe versions of Glaceon and Sylveon respectively that is where the changes end. I would love to see a game that features Moe in the story and perhaps a certified trainer sprite. Instead of Giovanni maybe we can fight Brock.. who has plans to …. well everyone who saw a few episodes of the series can fill this in.  You know I would like a Moemon world.

That being said however there is still plenty to love when just playing for the sprites. They are all so cute and there has gone a lot of effort and work into these.  Which is why I vastly prefer to play Emerald or Heart Gold.. . there are more Moe’s to catch and with the randomiser you never know what will show up where. Lapras on the starting route? Pidgey on Steven’s team.. depending on how you randomise it can all happen in a bonkers little adventure that has never looked cuter. The Moe’s all look soooooo good. I haven’t encountered a single ugly one! Now I kind of would like to play Heartgold Moe because there is even more monsters for me to find but it is the hardest one to mod! Not sure if I will be able to make it work!

Diamond-Senpai and Pearl-Chan

Moemon is a passion project and it shows from how many versions there actually are. Most games have their own separate sprites for their Moe’s so maybe the Charizard from Heart Gold is just a bit more tsun looking while the one in Fire Red might be more adorable. It shows the gargantuan amount of work that went into this project and makes it fun to play all the games because everything is their own thing.

Sprites are improved upon, so the next time you return to the same game it might look different as well. It has a fairly healthy, or at least alive, community. They keep creators keep plenty of variety in their moes as well. Of course the basic and stage 1 moemon look younger than a stage 2 as it should be and overall you can really feel the hard work  of everyone involved.

While Moemon might not be the most interesting Romhack in terms of gameplay it at least knows how to not mess with a classic. The games are the original so they are nice and easy and you can breeze through without too much trouble. Which is perfect for a game about Moe girls pretending to be pokémon. We don’t really care about the gameplay of those lewdable ship games either, so this should not be an exception either. It’s about cuteness and great pixel art.

It’s about how Pokémon can be cute girls too .. instead of flower-frogs or sleeping bear like things. Snorlax can now choose to be a nun!  So many of these sprites are such nice and lovely designs and I want to cosplay them all! Unfortunately as a dutchie I am fairly tall so I need to find a way to shrink myself down first. Anyway I am sure to embark on a journey with Pika-Kun and Voir-Senpai soon! I do hope i can share this journey with you but whatever you do .. never lewd MY moes!

Mewtwo: The pokemon that can defeat god!

A boop on your snoot little monsters! Nice to have you reading this post
Another Monday , another Mon-Day. Time to discuss another little beastie in depth.
Today I have chosen to pick at least one that is at least a favorite of one of my followers, but I do think there will be more fans out there. The pinnacle of human creations, Mewtwo.

Dark Origins
Mewtwo was the first “final” pokemon in our games, the anime and movies connected it highly to team rocket, and since at least in Europe we got the anime before we got the game, Mewtwo has always seem very ominous, but with a few misconceptions. Many believe that Team Rocket has created this Pokémon, but this isn’t true at all. The true creator of Mewtwo is Mr Fuji and his science team. Mister Fuji is that nice guy , you meet in lavender town, who ends up giving you his Pokéflute after you put Marowaks soul to rest. He has shown great care for Pokémon and even orphans in general. However, it turns out this sweet little old man, at least in the past, wasn’t that nice after all. He was involved in some shady business. Going on an expedition to capture mew, to obtain it’s dna  and from it create an embryo , which they would genetically alter to create the ultimate pokémon. The story here gets a bit vague as we have come conflicting sources, some claim that Mewtwo was grown in a testtube some say that Mewtwo was grown inside Mew, the manipulated embryo being placed back inside mew so it would carry it’s altered child. What we DO know for sure is that on the 6th of February Mewtwo was born.

The picture of the other birth was a bit to ikcy.

Research Disclaimer
Before I move any further, a little explanation on how things will be compiled.  Only sources set in at least a remotely similar world to the game will be used. Humans and Pokémon both have to live there, with pokeball technology being a thing. Any lore from for example the mystery dungeon universe or the mobile game Pokémon Quest..alongside any fan made games, are not taken into consideration. Conflicting variations will be reported, however for the sake of cohesiveness we will not consider alternate timelines. If the anime shows something that isn’t explored at all in the games, it will be the only thing we go on and use it to sketch our profile of Mewtwo without constantly mentioning which source says what.  That would not make this a fun read, nor would it tell us much about mewtwo if we only use one source. So let’s drop the judgment hammer and just enjoy a cool story about a cool pokémon.

Pinkie’s Science Seal of Approval

A living weapon
Mewtwo is a bipedal feline-human like pokemon of extraordinary power. It’s coloured in a  pale gray and purple colour scheme, it’s fingertips being balled as well as an appendix connecting his head to it’s lower back give it an alien like  and ominous appearance. The shiny variation of mewtwo holds a military/natural green colour similar to the shiny colours used on many purple Pokémon, Espeon possibly being the best comparison. Both purple and green looks succeed in giving mewtwo this incomprehensible, what the frizzestick is this kind of look.  You know when you see a Mewtwo something is not ‘right’ about it Which is completely true. Mewtwo in it’s very core has been designed to be “not right’. It was just designed to be the ultimate pokemon battler. This meant it had to be modified , to not have any compassion. That is exacyly what Mr  Fuji did, he created a pokémon with remorse or compassion, so it would never lose focus at the task at hand.
They also killed Mew’s free roaming spirit from it’s design. Where we see Mew as something that likes to play and fly around in swirls and loops and the likes, Mewtwo was modified to not move when not needed, to conserve all his strength for battle.
Think of it like designing a chicken but instead of making it happy it can walk, it just sits there focussing on laying eggs. Any offspring it would create it would not care for..because it’s detrimental to what it was actually made for… making eggs for consumption. This is basically what Mewtwo is designed to be ..an emotionless, organisms only designed to deliver a product, in this case..battle victory. A weapon, that may live, but never was meant to have a life.

My ex-mother-in-law used to have those eaxct same eyes!

Evil eliminator or misunderstood antagonist?
One would say the difference between the game and the anime would create the biggest lore conflict, however this is not the case when we try to understand Mewtwo’s story. Though the manga depicts him as much more gruesome then the more commonly accepted media, that is a style spread throughout the whole series. With Pokémon death or trainer death actually incurring on a semi-regular basis. The world in the anime is much more gruesome and everyone is adapted for it. Mewtwo as well, but though he may completely destroy Blaine’s arm, Mewtwo’s motivations seem to stay fairly true at the source. Mewtwo is NOT the person who we Westerners believe him to be. He actually isn’t THAT evil.  In the first Pokémon movie we see Mewtwo trying to destroy humanity with a large storm, his nihilistic cruel outlook on live , making him a classic archetype villain, the likes of Frieza from dragon ball Z for example. Only to have a change of heart when Ash dies.
However if we look at the “first” first Pokémon movie, we can see that this is actually not true.
‘But Pinkie, Mewtwo was the first first Pokémon movie!’ Yes.. dear reader you are right, however there is a MASSIVE difference between the japanese version, which outdates the western version. In the original version Mewtwo isn’t as evil He is a much more naive and conflicted pokemon that simply fails to feel any positive emotions, who is acting based on what he has seen so far. His motivations do not come from a deep hate of humankind, it stems more form a hate for those who harmed him and intents to stop the hurt people but pokemon trough. By force of course because that is all he knows.

Ash using a fighting move on a psychic type, and we wonder why he never became champion!

Human DNA
It is theorised that in order to make the ultimate Pokémon, it was infused with human DNA. The fact that Mewtwo looks a lot more human than Mew and the fact that there weren’t many  other human like pokemon, let alone in their league is pretty compelling evidence towards said theory. People also use the fact that he can speak “human” as evidence for the theory. However that last one is poppycock! Mewtwo talks to people through telepathy, one can easily argue that when you project an idea in someone’s mind it will always be in the language you speak..because your brain would translate the electric pulse into ideas for you.
Pokemon also seem to understand humans extremely well, since Ash can tell Pikachu to sit on a bench and do three  somersaults, with the latter actually proceeding to do it. So it makes sense Mewtwo can project the language regardless.
However if we go back to “good guy mr Fuji”  and a deleted scene from the movie, once more evidence arises. In this scene we see Mewtwo floating in a tank alongside clones of the Kanto starters. In yet another tank however there is a young girl, mewtwo speaks too with telepathy, or at least is implied too. The young girl to be Fuji’s passed away daughter who he is trying to clone back. However the other clones deteriorate and die, mewtwo being the only one to survive. Heh,  I wonder why they decided to cut this scene from a kids movie.
From this scene however it is clear that human dna at least was present in the experiment making it plausible at least. The final evidence comes later into the series, when Mewtwo Y was revealed as the first mega evolution. However Mewtwo was able to evolve himself, while everyone needs a human for that. Perhaps because it is part human?

So adorable, baby mewtwo talking to a dead(ish) child.

The power to defeat a god.
Speaking of mega-evolutions, when Mewtwo obtained the power to go even further beyond he became more mighty than the god of the pokemon world itself. He outclassed lord Arceus himself. The potential of a pokémon in the games is expressed in base stat totals.  It’s a number to reflect how much stats a pokémon has without the meddling of any IV”s and EV”s.
Though not fully correct, due to how IV’s work let’s compare this with, how strong are they without a trainer. Regular Mewtwo’s base stat total of 680 was rarely matched, let alone surpassed in the games. However when Arceus was introduced it had a base stat of 720, and for the next few years Arceus ruled supreme. When Callum and Serena (protagonists of X and Y)  found Mewtwonite X or Y, it all changed. Mega Mewtwo became the first pokémon to surpass the god. Nowadays only accompanied by Mega Rayquaza at a grand total of 780.
This would mean that a wild Mewtwo can take Arceus in a fight.  Arceus arguably does have access to all types, and thusly would be able to play the type advantage game to keep the fight balanced. However here is where it gets scary. If we consider it’s human DNA, it would potentially mean that Mewtwo DOES have access to EV’s. Because only trainer owned Pokémon are able to get them. Mewtwo functioning due to its dna as their own master. Eliminating IV’s for the sake of.. he would not be able to reset himself, it would only grant him the ability to use the additional 510! (this is why EV training is important kids) stat points gained from EV training. Effectively that COULD mean that should a fight between Mewtwo and Arceus ensue, Mewtwo comes in at a power level of 1290 versus Arceus 720. Mewtwo being nearly TWICE as strong as Arceus in that case. If Mewtwo really does have human DNA the implications of a monster without sympathy being out there could be truly terrifying

Dillema! I only got 1 Master Ball

It’s not alone
If you ask people what their favorite legendary Pokémon is, they would most oftenly say Mewtwo, though Marshadow  is bound to get plenty of votes as well, its soooo good and super cute. Though technically still correct, it turns out Mewtwo might not even be a legendary pokemon. It would have to be the only one of it’s kind for that status in my book.
‘Well Pinkie there is only one..the one that escaped from the Pokémon Mansion on Cinnabar island’ No it’s not. The detective Pikachu movie , shown another Mewtwo being made in Rhyme city. Even if we don’t consider that particular mewtwo, even though it’s strongly implied to be set quite a few years in the future from Red and Blue,  the anime and even the games imply there is more than one. The Mewtwo captured in Kalos is never claimed to be the same one Red would have captured, given it’s lore and the fact that Red would know how it is, it seems rather unlikely he would release a monster like that anyway. The anime as well also strongly implies there are multiple mewtwo’s, both in the movies as in the tv series itself. Since it’s a perfect clone it doesn’t seem too unlikely that people who still have the research could try it again, someone recreated it or even Mewtwo itself made more of itself to fufill it’s ambition. Who or whatever did this is unknown but there is very likely more than one godslayer out their, their name is Mewtwo. All thanks to that kind Mr Fuiji

Number 150 is to interesting to talk about in general to discuss battle sets and the likes, hes’s pretty much banned in each battle format anyway. If you do want a good build for Mewtwo you are always free to ask in the comments. What Pokémon would you like to see in the spotlight?
Please leave a like to make my day a little better and don’t forget to stay pink.
