A Dozen of Sunshine: The Sunshine Blogger Award 12

Hello my Little Lights, while I would not have minded keeping the Sunshine Blogger Awards I have gotten at 11, the lunacy number, McKenna tagged me in this post with some REALLY interesting questions. I won’t tag new people though as I already tagged well over 50 for these.  So feel free to take my questions I post at the end and turn them into a post, no need to even make it a Sunshine blogger award if you don’t want to! Thanks McKenna for the awesome questions though! Reader click on her name to visit an awesome blog! I’ll be skipping the whole rule thing as well, if you need them, there are 11 other posts on my site that explain them! I really just want to get to these awesome questions.

What’s your favorite dish to cook (or that someone else has cooked for you)?

I will admit that my sister is way more chefworthy then I am and she has cooked me some great food in the past, however I would not say I am a slouch in the kitchen either.  My favourite dish to cook is a grilled liver, with bacon bits, onions and carrots, in a beer reduction and black peppercorn gravey/sauce.  With big oven baked potato chips.. like Flemish chips.. and served with a spinach and mushroom salad. My blood iron values aren’t always amazing so a meal like this really puts a spring back in my step and the o2 back in my blood. It’s pretty good, savourey and wholesome.

It’s pubfood.. but I love the wholesomeness that good pub food has to it.  I love to experiment when I cook as well.. each week I try to invent a new dish. Last week I made a grilled capsican and onion puree, with beef that I gave a crust of bread that I soaked into hot sauce before.. “Red Pepper Crusted beef I called it”  with some Broccoli and mushrooms to provide some earthy flavours. I hardly ever plan a dish.. I think about what flavours I want to taste tonight and then I think up a meal that would give me those flavours oftenly in a new way… doesn’t always work out though!

What’s your ideal simulation game like?

This one is tricky since I dont like simulation games all that much, it depends on what you call a simulation game though.. Do we call StarDew Valley a farming simulator?! I do love that game!  To me a simulator game has a simulator in the title OR Tycoon!  Not sure why.. but well if Stardew Valley is a sim.. it is pretty much the perfect one. If we go by my definition it would probably be something close to what Cooking Simulator is right now. The game can’t take itself too seriously and has to have some whimsey, you have to be able to do much about it.

Farming Simulator is huge in germany, back when I had a job/internship in video game reporting I wanted to Cologne Gamescom and kind of had to play it … but darn is this boring stuff. I want to get in a tractor and run over my pigs..well not really want that.. but I want to be able to do that if I so choose. In Cooking Simulator I can make a meal.. but I can also just try to light a candle with a Cremé Brulee burner thing and accidentally set the floor on fire.  I can feed cardboard people and go crazy and toss all the dishes…so in short I pretty much want it to simulate the ultimate murphy’s law effects of whatever I am simulating.

What should the next eeveelution type be? Feel free to choose a brand new type

Honestly I think they should make an Eevee Counterpart rather than a new eevee. Something that gets every type that Eevee doesn’t have.  Eevee currently basically has every typing that has a special attacking bias, with the physical evolutions not being available to it… even though Eeveelutions bounce between physical and special themselves a bit. So I would love to see a slug-like creature that can transform into the Steel, Ground, Rock, Bug , Fighting, Ghost and Dragon Type.  However since Eevee has long since became mascotte number 2, I doubt she will ever get competition.

In which case I would love a Sound Type Eevee.  Why Sound Type.. it’s a typing many of us have been asking for. It would be strong against the Steel and Fairy types to balance how powerful these types are a bit.  Sound types would be special attackers, which I think is a tradition they need to keep for the Eevee line .. to keep the dream of my slug alive.  It would evolve by turning your volume on your Switch to make.. in handheld mode when Eevee Levels up from battle.  It’s name would be Symphoneon. It would get moves like screech , Hyper Voice and Perish song and function a bit as a counterpart for Sylveon.. less bulky , harder hitting, speedier.. with a design that is more cool than cute. 

Do you like bubble/boba tea/drinks? If so, what’s your order?

I do like bubble tea, it isn’t very easy to get here as we have very limited locations that offer it.  Though locations are popping up more and more, finding one in the nearest city isn’t really a guarantee yet. If they do the flavours are limited. As such I usually save it as a convention treat. If I am at a convention I will get bubble tea and will go crazy for it. I really love the melon soda variety, maybe with some very citrusy flavoured bubbles or lychee flavoured bubbles. I’d love to see a green Melon soda with Water Melon bubbles combo if I could pick anything but I haven’t seen that one yet. I have seen either or though.. so in theory it should be possible for me to get that! One can always have hope Is there any flavour etiquette for these?! I do not know I usually just pick something!

How I feel , at a Bubble Tea Place!

When character customization is available, do you make your character look as close to you as possible or do you change things up?

Almost never, why would I restrict myself to my physical limitations when I can be anything.  Stardew Valley is a bit of an exception and in the sims I always make a character that is like me.. but I love to walk around with twin tails in video games..It isn’t very doable on the streets though. So it’s more like I’d make the Sweet Lolita version of me I want to be rather than the pink wearing Otaku I settle to be. 

On occasion I also roleplay and those characters tend to create something more evil looking. I do try to incorporate some of my features though, I love it if I can have glasses and I tend to make my characters fairly flat and not the prettiest.  Keep them human..it will also help with role playing them a bit. So actually I do a bit of a mix of what I want to be plus what I am.. both in a combination to scratch an itch yet not create a toxic unlivable self image for myself?!  I create hybrid me’s?! is that weird?! I don’t know anymore.. but that is how I create characters.

Do you have any non-gaming hobbies that overlap with gaming

I hate to kick in an open door but yeah I do have a non gaming hobby that overlaps with gaming… It’s called blogging. It overlaps because I talk a lot about games when I blog.. so I am pretty sure it counts. Healthy prevents me from picking up my YouTube right now BUT?!…..when I get back to that, that also has overlap.  I am such a huge geek that everything I do overlaps with gaming. When I go out with friends, I talk about anime and gaming. When I go to play crane games at the fair.. I use gamer tactics and when I go shopping, I love to buy pop figures.

I love gaming.. and other forms of geekdom..but all my cosplay has been video game characters..technically Megurine Luka is  a bit iffy… but I think she counts.  At anime conventions I spend a lot of time in the game room. Even one of my jobs had overlap with gaming.  When I bake a cake it looks like Pacman! .. There is no real overlap with gaming there though.. I just get the first piece before any of you can share my cake so it will always look like pacman!

What upcoming indie game are you most excited about?

I usually don’t really follow  the development of Indie Titles, a lot of the stuff I like either gets cancelled or we never hear from the people again so I tend to just look at what’s out there currently…early development is allowed of course. Yet there is one title I am super excited about, and it is actually a title McKenna turned me onto.and that game is Monster Harvest. This is basically a combination of Pokémon and StarDew Valley. I actively think about this game now!  It has no release date yet, but near the end of february the announced that coding was done and that seems like a good thing.. I assume that means all events are written and thus the story is finished?! But hey I do not know how coding works I just assume stuff here. I also really liked the idea of Battle Gem Ponies.. but the Demo of it was pretty terrible! I know it is in Pre-Alpha but man… if I see they have been making this for over a year I can not help but feel a bit anxious this might not be as good as I hoped.

Do you collect anything?

Do Sunshine Blogger Awards count? I have like 12 of them!   Just kidding though, I haven’t really been actively collecting anything recently.  I collect Pokémon Plushies and Unicorn plushies as well as other cute plushies but with a twist. I can’t just buy them in the store and put them in a closet, there has to be a story to it. Say I find a unicorn in a crane game while on a theme park adventure with friends… that’s a unicorn I can get. This does include gifts though, because gifts always come with a story. All my plushies come with a story , some more interesting than others but non of them were bought just because I think they were cute.

My Giant Micro Pig Plushie, Miss Genevieve Luckybutt, I got because I wrote a post on Plushies for OWLS and I wanted to set an example of supporting your favourite dealers you normally see at conventions.  She is the closest I got to “flat-out” store buying though.   I also do a similar thing with Pop Figures, each convention I usually do buy a Plushie and a Pop but never with an intention of finding a specific one.. I always let earlier conversations or events guide me.. I do prefer weird pops though.  I have a Bob Ross Funko for example with his Raccoon! 

What color pallet represents you?

So I think you can guess this one pretty much. We start with #FF89CD pink as a basis it’s a nice bubblegum like pink  in the center of my pallet,  to the left would be white and to the right black.  Then in between it’s basically just shades of pink with the  #ff89CD towards white side of the pallet, dealing with some pastels, while the right side towards the black deals with increasingly “hotter” shades of pink. Pink to me stands for identity.  I spend a lot of time in the hospital and in different hospitals.. and you begin to notice how they say ‘Good Morning <Miss Lastname>’  in this weird tone of utter nothingness. As if spat out by  a text randomiser almost. A translation of your patient number.. but eventually I became Pink girl… an identifier when  there are non… and so it became a trait and a symbol to me.. so my pallet is all sorts of pinks!

The developers of Crypt of the NecroDancer got to take on The Legend of Zelda with Cadence of Hyrule. What game would you like to see Cadence explore next?

Well we need a game that has some bitchin music  and maybe something that is slightly different gameplay wise to the other two games. So one of the options I would love to see is Cadence of  Mega City, a Megaman Cadence game. I think that would be a great candidate. More focussed on shooting but there is a lot of platforming in Megaman that required very specfic timing so I think that would be emulated as well. It would not be easy  but perhaps it could even be combined with the battle network gameplay.. while still being a legacy game.  I do see some options.

Another option that would make a lot of sense to me is Cadence of  Underground , covering Undertale as a game. I feel the battle system of undertale can be crossed with a bit of a Cadence style gameplay as well as it already lends itself to rhythm based dodging from the get go. Reason I am not picking Final Fantasy here by the way is because it already has it’s own rhythm games and plenty of other support. Undertale, having visited Switch, would be a fairly viable candidate as people really  remember it for it’s unique gameplay but it’s music as well. 

What’s your favorite shade of blue?

I wonder who will be the first to answer.. Light blue or Dark Blue to this!  So I need to keep track of the other people tagged!  My favourite shade of blue is Ruddy Blue.  Specifically the slightly faded variant on the Ruddy blue spectrum. Hex Code:  #8BB8E4. It is connected to the bill of the Ruddy Duck. This duck is also known as Oxyura jamaicensis, so let’s please call it the Ruddy Duck so I don’t have to type that again. It’s latin name .. and it Dutch name Rosse Stekelstaart, refer to it’s stiff tail. Rosse in dutch basically means ginger. So it’s a duck that is stiffer than most and kind of an outcast for being ginger! I am bound by all my laws to love this!   I love ducks! The colour that is based on a duck is therefore an amazing colour and Ruddy blue combines fairly well with pink! So cheers for Ruddy Blue!  My favourite shade of blue!

Joyous meeting you here today my dear Island Guests, while it is Steampunk month, I kind of ran out of steam a bit myself last week. Migraines , big energy dips and the likes, so I sometimes turned in early or could not focus on a movie or game enough to build up enough stock! Luckily YumDeku was a pal and tagged me in my eleventh SunShine Blogger award. Maybe I forgot or did not notice a few nominations as I am such a scatterbrain as well.. but well.. while it might not be Steampunk.. I decided to make the questions for you guys Steampunk themed so hey still doing it.

Anyone who reads these knows I haven’t been keeping up with the tagging rules.  I have no idea who is interested in taking on more of these so I do no longer use tag-chains. Instead my rules when I do this tag are as follows.  I do display the logo and say thanks to those who nominated me. I do answer and ask 11 questions.. but I do not Nominate 11 people.  No!

It’s almost the same! So.. with that said I of course would like to thank YumDeku for the nomination! They did a pretty awesome previous version of the tag before.. and they also did quite a “mechanical”  question list themself. Themed around how my blog works!  I figured a little peek under the hood fits enough in a steampunk theme to use as a catch up post, right?!   Regardless, check out their third nomination and the rest of their amazing blog if you haven’t already! Yummie Questions!

How do you manage or schedule in blogging every day?

So I am not a very healthy person, I have weak muscles which can at times even cause me some heart trouble.  Besides that I also had a major burn-out due to finally breaking free from that cycle.. of unemployment and poor income.. just to get stabbed in the back .. from two sides.. which is kinda weird.  For some weird reason I can NOT handle being around dominant and pompous energies at ALL.. I freeze up and can even reach near fainting levels of panic.  A combination of both the mental and physical stuff has left me with deep fatigue spells and.. to make it easier I have somatic stress disorder.. which means that if I worry.. I project it physically and experience pain, stiffness or even sickness. The stiffness along with the weak muscles can pretty much leave me frozen.. so no work for me.

This also means that my blogging is subjected to that same me. It does help me relax and keep stress down quite a bit.. but I am subjected to stuff like.. “how is my heart” .. “how is my energy” .. so in a way I blog when I feel like it.  I do try to at least keep myself from falling behind a lot so at least knock out one days worth of blogging per day.. but I aim for more if I can.  As long as I have fun!  It does mean sometimes a blogging day can be from 12 to 3, or sometimes I am blogging the entire day with all sorts of interruptions.  Blogging bends to my other needs though I rarely bend my other needs towards blogging. Sometimes it feels like a freemium game. I only have so many energy.. and I kind of put that energy to what I feel is most important or whatI feel like most! Chaos Energy at it’s finest!

What is one thing you wish people knew about your blog?

There isn’t a lot that I am not open about, I share a lot.. even from my back office experience. .. Did you know that I need to renew my domain for example?!  Honestly though, if there is anything people would like to know they can just ask and I will answer. There is nothing people can’t ask!

What I do want people to know is that I am still looking for STAFF .. which mostly means that I am open for any geeky writer who is to shy for the whole social thing to do their blog, or for who wants  to write on an actual domain but can’t afford it.  The more the merrier. I do want to make it feel like a Paradise where people just write for their hobby and because it’s fun!  If you have a story  to tell.. or a review  you feel is not good enough for a blog.. it’s all good enough for Paradise.  Paradise isn’t about perfect writing or deeply analysing stuff. It’s about having fun with our geeky fandoms.  If you want to gush about how hot Natsu  from Fairy Tail is but you feel you have nowhere to share it..or can not make it eloquent for people to enjoy it.. Paradise is the place for you. I just want to have fun, meet fun people and show my love for  fandoms and other things I hold dear! That is the idea of Paradise and always will be! Another thing I want people to know.. is that my site looks a lot prettier when you visit it as a website than in Reader. I do a lot of video stuff which does not show up in the reader.  I don’t make the videos but I share what I love. Like this song that I may have shared once or twice!

How big would you like your blog to be 5 years from now?

There are two answers for this, my dream is for it to be big. More a R&R platform filled with content and several bloggers in the community working together, just to have fun and share their hobbies. Like a cross franchise Amino as it were. Just a large gathering of geeks having fun.Ideally I would like to make a little bit of money with it by then as well.  I would like Paradise to play a role in the community, like how now I Drink and Watch Anime, Jon Spencer Reviews and Lita’ Kino’s Anime Corner are like.  A familiarity feeling would be nice.. almost like a special everlasting con. With it’s own Discord, some events, game nights.. stuff like that.  A bit of an actual online resort. More bungalows! More pools and more content bars to talk with each other!

However I also believe that is not something I should aim for as an ambition! I should not expect it to be that.. because if it doesn’t turn out to be that, I will be disappointed perhaps even lose my motivation because things are not going as I expected. So in a way.. I expect.. nothing. If I strive for my blog simply to remain existing in 5 years all I gain is extra. Every follower is not a step towards a goal.. it is a treasure to enjoy, something that makes me richer.. rather than something that brings me closer to my goal. I want to see my followers as a luxury. If I only had one pair of sneakers.. I’d look at them and I’d say.. “well I NEED those to get around” .. but when I don’t need them.. I can just get happy for that pair of pink pumps I really like.. not because I need them.. just because they are there. I don’t want to need followers.. I want them to be something I can cherish for who they are! So I expect.. my blog in five years.. to still exist.. and that’s it.

What inspired you to blog?

What inspires me to blog is different from what inspired me to blog! Over the year and almost a half now that I have been blogging,  I have learned to let go some of my dreams .. for now.  When I first started to blog I just had this need to tell stories.. to put my stranger thoughts on paper.. because I had no geek friends. I had no way to share with how awesome that Episode of FullMetal Alchemist was.. how great the soundtrack to Sonic Adventure 2 is..   I had friends but that was a side of me I had to hide.. I was tired of hiding it so I put it out on the internet for everyone to see. 

How else was I supposed to show off my Chao to people?

No one read it.. because back than anime was still way more niche and ani-blogging was kind of in its infancy. Let alone in dutch! So  I boldly applied two one of two dutch anime blogs that existed at the time. Like “real” ones..  from there.. I met  a dear friend .. who introduced me to my group of geek friends and I could not be happier.  That blog died though.. and I got a professional job blogging and doing social media, which wasn’t nearly as fun. The company had no real content direction and one day I had to mimic the style of popular gaming magazines, the other day I had to be classy.  It completely cramped my writing style and soon enough I got tossed to the curb.  I tried creating a few blogs on my own.. but I never found a style that stuck.. haunted by the bullying my boss did there. He would make all sorts of fake accounts and be super vicious about my typos. He would even involve his boss in the fun.. just to see me turn pale and quite at my desk… just soldiering on.  I could not let go of those voices. 

My psychologist however was what inspired me to return to blogging.  I felt people hated me.. for my shortcomings .. my poverty made some people treat me to a pizza and I felt sick for making them spend 5 bucks on me. Then he asked me.. do you think they have an issue with forking over the 5 bucks to help a friend? Do you give nothing in return.. He asked me if I ever asked a friend if it bothered them that I was limited. I did and they said no! “You listen to my troubles.. you show up smiling every time I host something and I want people around.. that is worth that money 10x over for me” ..   People choose what you are worth to them.. if you are not, why would they stick around anyway?! Do they matter if they do not accept you for who you are? Because you can’t be fake your entire life…   This talk made me think and realised.. that’s right! I do matter.. let’s meet people who like my uncomprimised self.. and that idea.. started this blog.. (thought it should have been a youtube.. my voice was to weak etc)

Bloggers that inspire you the most?

I feel like a broken record here.. but Irina clearly is my biggest blogging inspiration.  I do appreciate so many of you out there.. but there is a charm about Irina’s blog that just really grabs me.  I see Irina being Irina.  She isn’t trying to create a masterpiece of writing, no super scholarly analogies.. She is talking about something she clearly holds very dear in a very passionate way. There is no rival to her.. in terms of that feeling.

 I also admire Lita a lot,  she is such a community beast, having her discord, doing her podcast, joining here and there on other peoples blogs! There is just sooo much she does for the community. She’s also in the council of OWLS  or has been for a long time. Scott is a guy much in the same vein.. he does not have his own discord as far as I am aware.. but he is in every chat and he is a pretty active guy.. doing those interviews he does on his blog also shows he is trying to keep the community together. A lot of others of you do amazing things as well.. but these are the three that inspire me most! I really need a proper Scott avatar if I keep doing these tags!

If you never had started blogging, how different do you think your life would be?

I honestly probably would be dead.  Because I started blogging I found my geeky friends,  because I loved my geeky friends so much I moved to the town they used to live in and because of that I was super close to a hospital that one day I had my big brush with death.  Had I lived in my old town.. I would have been off pretty badly. I probably would have lived in a town that is pretty far from a hospital.. or would have gone totally depressed from hiding my true self forever and not have the strength to bounce back.   Without blogging I would not have discovered cons and community and I would be alone. and I can not imagine me being able to cope with that for as long as I had these friends and amazing people like behind me now.

If you could have something named after you (real or fictional) what would it be?

I would love that little finger on your hand to be called after me.. or my little Pony .. lucky for me .. both are called Pinky or Pinkie.. so the mission is complete. Yet no, my answer is a bit sappier than that. I would love to have a proverb named after me. Like “Pulling a Pinkie”, which could be used for “gather in a crowd of people and getting them excited and engaged by simply being yourself”  That is REALLY hard to make an image so my answer will be .. a Planet.. because Planet Pinkie sounds like a great new home! Let’s change Uranus so the lame jokes end! A clock would have been better for Steampunk month though!

What’s your zombie apocalypse plan?

First I’d create a huge suit off all plushies and other soft material to work as my armor.. Zombies can’t touch me if I am a big plushy ball rolling around. Then all I have to do is call Geek Girl Joy and she will send a squad to rescue me! Because she promised she would!
In case she would meet her demise.. or she forgets to give me her phone number, plushie ball me would just  build a hovel inside my ever growing plushie ball where I drag food into and I ‘d end up making beautiful Katamari  out of plushies traveling the world..with a lot of plush friends!

If the story of your blog was turned into an anime, which anime character would you like to be cast as you?

Adult Yuki Takeya from School Live would be my pick! I think she would do very well with directions like “imagine your on a pink fluffy cloud playing with Unicorns.. even though you know you want to be set you kind of push the bad away and try to make it fun”  I gave up on trying to create a better world in some ways.. but instead I just try to make my world better. I shut out bad energies and welcome in the positives. The more people I can share my world with the better.. but if you do not fit , I also will not doubt to cut you out!  Pragmatic happiness might not be as beautiful as idealistic happiness.. but it is much more achievable. I make my own world! Yuki.. embodies that idea well.

What’s your favourite anime, manga or gaming quote?

I have a few but only one of them is a Pokémon quote and given how I started I think it is only fair to pick that one. This quote is by Grimsley the Dark-Type Elite Four member. As much as I appreciate Agatha’s quote about Pokémon not needing to be strong ones but your favourite ones.. Grimley’s quote hits much of the same notes in a more powerful metaphor.

 It’s more important to master the cards you’re holding than to complain about the ones your opponent was dealt.

Don’t compare yourself to others.. just work with what you have.  If you can not lift as much bricks as Tommy does.. just carry bricks twice.. or ask for a friend to help.. don’t be bummed out if someone works more effectively then you.  I am weak, I am clumsy.. yet I have the power to unite a bunch of friends very willing to help me.  My friend Joe.. is a lot more handy.. he is a lot stronger…he can do a lot of things himself that I can’t .. but if we would move at the same time.. I get settled three times as fast.. I might not have the strength and the tech card.. but I have the friendship card.

In the end life is not like a game of Poker.. it’s more like a game of Yu-gi-oh .. or Pokemon TCG.. while I may hold weaker cards I can play them smarter. In Pokémon I have come up with a strategy where my common cards.. can one shot everything.. no matter how good my opponent is.. Cards that do not seem good on their own! I loved them though and I made something out of them. The truth about life is.. it is unfair. Grass IS always greener on the other side.  Yet if you can’t have the greenest grass.. make it blue.. make it the shortest grass.. make it the longest grass.. there is always something!  Whatever you have.. whatever you offer it always offers something to someone..that is the strength of the cards you hold.. the importance of your life is not measured in how you scale up to others.. but what you can mean for others and yourself.

What is your favourite anime series right now?

As in.. what is the favourite series I am following right now?  Probably Hikaru no Go.. Maybe Bebop! I know it isn’t modern.. I am not following much Modern stuff though I am really enjoying the new Digimon series. My favourite anime right now.. has been stable for quite a long time and that is Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, but anime like Flip Flappers and Kyousogiga came pretty close. I really love those shows.  I can gush about most of them.. and in fact.. I did .. so use the search function on my website to find stuff about those if you are interested in the full story!  I am always happy if someone might suggest a new favourite for me so if you feel compelled to leave suggestions feel free to do so!

Summer Brings the Sunshine When Winter Comes: Another Sunshine Blogger Award

Konichi-welcome Island Guest !  I lost count of how many Sunshine Blogger Awards I have done by now!  I think  it’s close to ten!  I took a break from tag posts for a good while but I can never refuse to answer my Blogging Besties questions! So we tackle a new Sunshine Blogger Award .. but break most of its rules again. I know that may be rude.. but it’s just SOOOO many people to tag! We all did this a lot .. so I am trying to shape this into something on a a more pro-active basis rather than a reactive one! I do love the tag though and I do love Summer’s Questions.

It’s not that I dislike rules or anything but 11 is a very high number to  nominate if you have done this tag 10 times or so! Thats 110 nominations!  I don’t have nearly that amount of active followers.. the community I dabble in I’d say is .. 50ish people large.  I can’t even keep up with so many of you even though I’d like to.. so self nomination by mutual interaction is the way to go!  I don’t mean to be disrespectful to any post creator .. just as a tag is used over and over again I think it should evolve a bit.. and this feels like a proper evolution!

Now with that said , Thank you Summer for nominating me and I was really intrigued by your questions so I will answer them!  Here we go! Thanks for being such a loyal follower and supporter and having such an amazing life that leads to some of the most interesting tag answers I can read as well! You have such an interesting blog and people really need to check out your amazing art and insightful ideas! They can even do so by clicking on this link! Summer has free Butterscotch candy for everyone! Here is my answer to your questions!

Summer’s Questions

Question 1:  Now that the pandemic has thrown all the building blocks of our lives up in the air, shuffled them, and dropped them randomly – have you made any significant life changes, either day to day or in your future plans? What have you learned?

I remember this episode of the tv show Community called Debate 109. In which Annie and  Jeff have to debate whether mankind is good or evil. Covid to me has shown that mankind is inherently evil and selfish. It might sound rude but we have revealed to have zero respect for each other. I usually stand with the more careful side but I do occasionally see some people and a close friend may come closer than six feet on a rare occasion. I think we need to be careful .. yet we also can not be TOO scared and pretend to fight everything. Nature is calling and telling us we did bad… we can fight for those we hold dear and we should.. but we can not fight for everyone.  If we oppose nature too much.. it will happen again.. and again.. so for me the Covid times are about finding balance. 

Making choices.. both paths have their benefits. .and none is inherently wrong.. as long as we keep some semblance of sense. That doesn’t mean balantantly ignoring the rules because you think masks are stupid.. or saying our goverments are harvesting DNA or testing panic scenario’s… No I simply mean that if you want to give your cousin a hug.. and none of you are anywhere near sick.. and the hug is worht more to you than that risk.. if you wash your hands afterwards.. maybe you can.

What we can not do is let this divide us. If I am more careful than a friend of mine.. I do not mind if he goes out to party with more people than is allowed.. It just means I will wait 10 days before I see him. I do not judge him because he needs that interaction to thrive. He doesn’t judge me for being careful. If he needs to socialise.. he will then afterwards not visit family that is weak.. or at least warn them of what he did so they can make an informed choice. It’s okay not to listen to all advice.. but if you ignore advice , accept that people might stay clear of you.. It’s okay to follow all the rules to the letter.. but do note that without people ever taking risks and breaking the rules we would have been much lesser of a world as well.

We share this world .. and we already have plenty of enemies so let’s not let a disease separate us. Respect each other’s opinion and don’t try to force your way upon others. Of course you will have to follow the law.. so if the government says you need to wear a mask.. you will need to wear a mask. There is no big evil government trying to collect DNA samples to easier keep track of everyone and turn the world into a police state.. and even if they did what do you have to fear from them having your DNA if you are a law abiding citizen.. Sure you have right.. but the right to privacy will not be invaded  if you act like a normal person.

Sure you can’t go burn down 5g towers.. that sucks if that is your thing.. but what good will privacy do for you.. if you are not safe.  People measure only with their own best interests in mind all the time..and have become less and less compatible with each other.. that is what Covid has thought me.. and I adapted to it.. in a sense that I will focus my life on the people that matter in my bubble, I can not create a better world.. but I can create a better world for myself.

Question 2: Of all the many streaming services now offering anime, who is your favorite and why? Which one do you watch most?

Crunchyroll offers less basic stuff than Netflix does, and is the one that works most consistently in Europe..  HighDive I think is not available to me.. and let’s not even begin about Fun.. I basically select anime shows I watch now based on whether or not I can find them on Crunchyroll or if one of my DvD collecting pals has them in their library.  There are a few more factors that come into play but Crunchyroll has been my defacto service for a while now. So much so that I use it’s icon for my Anime Cocktail featured image-thing!

Question 3: Do you even know what a CD is? 3.5 Floppy Disk? Vinyl record? Owned any? Still own any? Is this one question or five?

I owned all of them and I still have a few CD’s.  I had Commander Keen on Floppy Disc , it was this space platformer game about a guy in a pink shirt shooting space slugs with his laser! It  was very fun!   There was a while when we had to do our homework on Floppy Disc even which was super nifty because it was so easy to cheat.. those things cost like nothing.. so if I had done a bad job on my homework I would always wreck my floppy. I would always pretend to be super upset.. because I always had good grades teachers always believed me.. my odd movement would make them put them in my bag unlucky and that little metal thing on the top would clip to my zipper and voila.. I skipped homework!  Vinyl I did not own a lot of .. my dad was a hobby musician and grandpa was a music teacher that kept forcing music onto me.. and so often that I always felt listening to music is a chore.  

The Vinyl I did have was Disney Audio Books.. or well retellings. I had the Smurfs on Audio Cassette.. which I think is missed in this question as a medium and I had the Disney collection on Vinyl. my favourite Vinyl was that of Robin Hood.. because we did not have those on VHS .. another medium that kind of is missing here as well.. we never had Betamax though..  anyway.. since I never had Robin Hood on VHS I would often listen to the vinyl in our playroom. One day my sister wanted to play with me and I wanted to finish the story.. so she took the record from the player and hit me on the head with it.. it broke!  I was super upset for days!  I have never watched or listened to Robin Hood ever since!… Well the disney movie at least.

Question 4: What do you think is going to happen after you die?

I believe in reincarnation of sorts. As physics tell us the energy before a reaction equals that of the amount of energy after a reaction thus energy can never be expended and just transformed. Whatever energy we have will return to the earth.. whether that is us decomposing to fertilising the plants, after my death my energy will remain.  Eventually that plant will be fed to a few cows and I will love on as the energy of a 20 cows.. and then the stereotypical american will go Mac Donalds and eat 20 burgers.. and I will live one as an American!… If Mc D still uses reall beef and not Soylent Green by then. Maybe I will return as an actual person .. who knows.. I just know my energy will never go away!

As for an afterlife.. I do think there sort of is one. When we are dreaming time slows down we see things and can experience things beyond what is thought possible. I do belief that when we die our brain.. just like it makes your life flash in front of your eyes just before you die.. can enter a dreamlike state.. which can be considered an afterlife.. a nearly everlasting dream…caused by all sorts of processes going up in there. Trapped in a bliss induced by our own decay.. this final dream will be what we perceive as “heaven. Now I already told I believe if planes of existance beyond our comprehension linked to creativity and ideas and I do belief that our concious from the dream state can transition into these other planes.. as long as people remember us.. , think of us or imagine how we would respond to a thing after we are gone. It will literally allow us to live on in the memories of others.. digging into that plain of existance that we call imagination. This is also why I do kind of want to be remembered for the person that I really am.. if I ever meet my demise.. that way my dream may never end and I can stay in heaven.

Question 5 : What is your favorite bird?

This should come to no surpise to people who frequent my blog but it’s a duck!  It’s an adorable species that is distinct enough from other birds to be recognised by anyone, it has this level of clunkiness to it that I do appreciate in animals and a very distinct sound.  Ducks aren’t as evil as Geese and make for good and lovely pets! I have seen so many videos of ducks just enjoying being petted or even listening to the radio.  Back when we had a little pond in our garden we always had ducks in summer. They would come and hang out to the pond and walk to our window to be fed.  These were wild ducks yet they all bonded with us.. and each had a bit of a different bond with most of the family. The female duck really bonded with mom while  one of the male ducks really preferred me.. It was quite lovely to see personalities in them and such.. A few other birds had that as well but for me duck have the full package.

Question 6: Do you think you have a totem animal? Or Spirit animal? What is it?

Yes I do, it’s a cat.. and that is strange because I am totally not a cat person. Yet I “hallucinate” a cat every now and again. It’s a black cat.. and it’s always the same.. it has yellowish eyes and a white tipped tail. It also has a bit of white in the face. I see it staring at me from time to time.. usually just from outside a window on a roof. The first time I saw it.. I told dad  I saw a cat in my room (I was 15 I think)  it walked backwards after seeing me spot it.  We searched the entire house but could not find it.  Whenever I see it it usually is a signal that I should be careful because some bad luck is coming my way.  It’s avoidable..but in a way it works like the Pokémon Absol to me. Who predicts disasters.. the cat predicts trouble. Yet I have also seen it running in some bushes and when I look below I found money.. or once a little mouse that got trapped in empty soda can. So I do believe I have a animal spirit guardian of sorts.. it might also bring me bad luck! But just like with real cats.. you never no what they will drag in.

Question 7: What is a comfortable indoor temperature for you? No, really, I’m curious. What’s your thermostat on, if you have one?

Well isn’t this a tricky one.. .. I do have a thermostat in my new home but as a European I use Celsius and not that weird one Americans use.  (Celsius uses the temperature that H20 changes from liquid to  solid and gaseous state as 0 and 100 point and other than that scales to the absolute scale of Kelvin). I usually use 19.5 degrees C to be productive but warm and 20.5 degrees when I want to be toasty and snuggly in front of the tv. This means that I am usually most comfortable with temperatures between 66 degrees Fahrenheit and 68,5. The warmer it gets the least productive and groggy I get!  I love wearing big sweaters to hide in so I don’t need the temperature to be insanely hot!

This is before I get my first gas bill though! In my old house gas was included in the rent price.. though they tend to frick me over in the end! 

Question 8: How do you feel about slice of life anime?

Slice of life is a very big concept and there are anime within the genre that I do like.. I mostly like Slice of Life  when it is used as a subgenre though.  Slice of Life episodes in Shonen anime I absolutely adore. Slice of Life moments in horror make the impact  of it all so much bigger.  It makes characters really relatable. I do enjoy Slice of Life moments a lot.. ..

Pur Sang Slice of Life anime however I usually find boring. There are exceptions like Watamote which is one of my favourite anime, but usually I find Slice of Life anime devoid  of any relatability.  I do not talk with friends on how to eat a pudding bun, I do not have 27 potential lovers or even 2..  It either depicts an to idylic life for me or something to zaney.  I like my loony characters and odd stories but I don’t really feel anything by seeing a potato peel itself and jump into a curry.  Japanese culture often doesn’t help make these situations any more relatable and without that connection I do think many of those stories are lackluster.

Question 9: Do you watch the same genres in live action as you do in anime?

No, life action I mostly watch Sci-Fi and Horror shows.. also a lot of those crime shows! Or well I used to.. I nowadays barely watch any life action fiction. I rewatch some Buffy, some Power Rangers and a few sitcoms just because they are on tv but I am mostly done with Life Action series. I like the Mandalorian and will watch the second season once it is completely released  but there is a predictabilty in Western Media that has mostly put me off it. Each CSI clone has basically the same episodes in a different order, there is a structure that makes them ultra predictable to me. I did not care much for Game of Thrones after season 3 because we mostly just had a looping plot. Stranger Things is just “every Steven King Novel Ever”  stretched over an entire season with just a dash of cosmic horror and some 80’s flavouring.  The west really very much more than the east wants to see the same thing over and over again.. and due to how my mind works I can’t watch those series and feel I haven’t seen this before.

This is also why I don’t watch a lot of Shonen and prefer the odd ball anime that I do .. I want to be suprised, I don’t like to be able to predict a series. I try to turn my head off when watching these things but I pick up on this subconsciously. Even in movies I have been able to predict a final scene of a movie based on how the first shot was framed. For example there was this movie where we see a woman come home and put her key on the dresser. Putting it away in a drawer.  The scene was shot from a frog  perspective and  would linger for just a second so I knew in the end she would attack the killer with that key.  At some point she did not do it when inviting a certain character over.. because .. she had mail in her hand that day or something and I knew.. well that guy is the killer then.. he does not know she keeps her key there and it will allow her to escape. A 20 second opening shot and I already connected the dots and solved the entire movie for the intermission in the cinema. I can’t do that with anime! ..It’s also why I tend to wath more YouTube nowadays because predictability isn’t a thing there.!

Not even sure what genre this would be!

Question 10: Do you remember the very first anime you saw? Was it love at first sight?

The first time I subconsciously saw anime .. was either Alfred J Quack if you count that one or MapleTown  and I loved both series.. especially Mapletown had me crazy as a kid!   I have NO memories of the series except for .. I loved Mapletown and the theme song in dutch! Then it would take years to see an official anime and it was Gundam and I hated it! It was aired in front of shows I thought that were good and Gundam was just too complex and dark for me at the time. It would take me awhile until they started to air Dragon Ball, Yu-Gi-Oh Beyblade and Medabots to fall in love with it again.  Pokémon as well of course.  Those were love at first side.. but Mapletown will always be my really official first. I watched it when I was 3 to like 5 or maybe 6.. not sure.. and I just remember it made me happy.. so love at first sight? Yes! I think so. Opening down below if you aren’t checking this in reader!

Question 11: The EMP hit. Everything with a computer chip is fried. Will you survive?

Nope! I have a device on my heart that helps me out at times.. I assume that would break as well .. so I’d probably literally die from the EMP itself.  It kind of depends on how fried the pacemaker would be. I have no landline to call for help , and not a strong enough voice to yell out I am in trouble.. so I’d probably be up doodies creek without a paddle.. and a hole in my canoe!

If the device powers down without leaving me with any damage I would be good for a while. I do  keep a slightly okay stack of cash with me.. so I can pay for some groceries, I usually live on  day to day basis so I don’t have a lot of supplies going to waste, so I would probably just buy some bread and cheese and wait it out while getting some paper and pens to write stories down the old fashioned way as a way to kill time. I also have a lot of analogue games, and a pretty great analogue hobby so in that sense I would not die straight away.

However deep stress can cause my heart rythm to go wonky pretty easily and I think seeing the entire world blacked out and having no means of communications would cause enough stress to still kill me..  So unless I happen to have a friend over.. I would say I am quite litteraly done for! .. Not in the sense that most millenials would.. but like actually ..dead dead!

Questions! Questions Most FOUL

And then now it is time to answer the questions. I will not be to much of an anarchist here! I will answer these to the best of my ability! Also the title is only for flavour I do not hate the questions!

What’s your favourite thing about October?

When I was a little Chibi-Me in Fall we would often go to a Bungalow park during school break. Being in the middle of the woods with the autumn leaves like burning embers on the ground. The seasonal shift and the nights becoming darker really gives me a sense of tranquility. To this day I like strolling around in the woods for hours during October. The birds slowly begin to migrate away and there is and this blanket of silence descends upon the world.  A short season of bliss before the stressing of my upcoming birthday in november begins and then the holidays. In october I always get a bit of a recluse mood in October.. even though I am fairly busy! It is the month I normally very easily can recharge my mental battery! I can stay inside my cosy house…normally.. and the seasonal food!  I really love october!

Are you a big celebrator of Halloween? + How Do you Celebrate it?!

Okay so I might have ended up doing the Irina thing and answer question 7 ahead of time.. so I merged them!  See now none of you will know that I messed up and just read this as a double question! Sometimes I am so smart.. my big head makes sense! Should you take on the tag.. even though I post this like.. two days before Halloween.. remember this is two questions…except for when I do it.. I would never mess up! I swear!

That depends a bit on context. You see Halloween isn’t REALLY celebrated in the Netherlands. There is no Trick or Treating there is no Halloween candy and while there are some decorations now.. there never where decorations while I was growing up.  In the eyes of the Americans I do not do a lot for Halloween, but as a Dutchie I am probably extremely into it.  I  normally go out of my way to visit 1 to 3 halloween theme parks , just wander through their scare zones and haunted houses.  I am super big on that!  For the entire month of October I watch scary movies, I decorate my house and sometimes I even make scary shaped chocolate.. well before i melted my molds two years ago. Whoops!  I play a lot of scary video games and I usually also host a tabletop game of dread.  That is a Roleplaying game where your players play a game of Jenga each action they do that is outside of their comfort zone they take a brick from the tower and if the tower topples the character dies! It is super fun! I have dressed up but usually that just makes me look like an idiot because that isn’t really done here.

This year however with Covid closing all theme parks and borders (Halloween is best in germany because they can grab you and drag you into cages and stuff which isn’t allowed in the Netherlands)  and me moving there is not a lot of Halloween! Which is why I am celebrating it so big on my blog!

What’s your favourite scary movie?

I changed this question a little to what is your favourite scary movie! Mostly so I can make a fun image of this at the end. I LOVE horror movies! There are so many shitty ones but there are also some REALLY good ones. I love the Conjuring movies for example, maybe even the second one more so than the first. I also really REALLY loved Drag me To Hell. Then I really love some classics like the first Halloween and the third Nightmare on Elm Street. Seeing mister Lugosi play Dracula is also always a pleasure..

But if I had to name an absolute favourite I think it would have to be “I know what you Did Last Summer”.. I saw that in one of those aforementioned Bungalow Parks first. I had my semi-first celebrity crush on Sarah Michelle Gellar and in my head she was clearly the main character; she was Buffy after all!  Somehow that movie really shocked me.. but I have always  found the fisherman to be something really intimidating. More so than Jason’s Mask or Freddies face.. just the way the movie was shot! It isn’t among the all time greats when we look at quality but like I always say my favourite doesn’t have to be the one I think is best! It is the one I can watch 20x in a row without getting bored of it!  I know what you did Last summer did that for me! For the same reason I also really like Urban Legend! ….which is even less good but still I had an amazing experience with it!

Would you rather a cosy night in watching horrors or a big night out in a costume?

For me Halloween isn’t just a night, it’s a season. I love to go to spook parks and if I am allowed to dress up I would dress up but well oftenly I can’t so I sneak in a semi witchy dress or something I would not normally wear but that shows me as a bit more “evil’ or vampiry! 
So I really love to go out! On the night of Halloween itself though I rather stay in with a good horror movie! Those parks are so insanely stupidly packed for Halloween itself that it really kills the fun out of it. You are rushed through the haunted houses, the good food courts in the park are oftenly closed in favour of the fast ones so people can’t complain as much about a long wait and there is always someone else to scare.  No on Halloween itself I like to stay in! Talk to the ghost in my flat, watch scary movies and eats sweets!  I sometimes do dress up just for myself!  That being said I do like inviting my friends to play Dread with me on Halloween.. but usually they have to stay in and cuddle up with their partners and check whatever halloween movie is on tv.

Which has been your most favourite costume to date? 

Running around in a costume is a no go here for Halloween, we have Carneval for that, and while in recent years costumes for kids have been making their appearance the whole world insecurities and protections against the real monsters of this world has prevented it from spreading to adults. You can wear a costume in some locations but no face paint, no long  dresses, no props, nothing with pins ,nothing too big, nothing was a loose hat. Etc. In other words for safety reason you can dress up, you just have to look like yourself and have nothing on you that can hide bad things like a witch hat..  About two years ago I  wore a vampire costume for myself on Halloween, just some good old fun to send a few photo’s to my family.  Then the doorbell rang and I kinda forgot I was in costume. A neighbour was there asking me if I heard a noise as well.. He looked at me like I was an idiot! Maybe dressing up  by myself is kinda sad but I had fun!

My favourite Halloween monster costume I have seen in one of these theme parks was in a haunted mansion called the dollhouse. It was a magic maze centered around toys. All the fences to guide you were decorated with a lot of plushies people donated.. some made more creepy by colouring their eyes red or nearly decapitating a doll.  As we neared the final wall which was super densely packed with plushies me and my company were looking at which ones were cute and which ones were evil when suddenly a part of the wall turned out to be a man!  With his back turned to use.. he blended in completely.. his chest with this “The Thing” like make up of a gaping maw  with teeth and other prickly things! Scary!

Altered Question: What is your Favourite Horror Monster

I included this question because I know my blogging bestie really likes monsters! Should she feel tempted to take on this tag late.. she doesn’t have to confess she is super good at bobbing apples ! Besides I have never bobbed for apples and would probably drown in doing so and this year I am the Witch so I really don’t want people sticking pins in me to try and edit on my hat which I had to spend a long time on to edit in the first place.

As for my personal favourite I would have to go with Dracula. I like vampires a lot! Like A LOT!  Except for when they sparkle or died more often than your average Dragon Ball character. My favourite vampire is the Malkavian from Vampires the Masquerade/ World of Darkness. Krul Tepes is probably my favourite anime vampire and Vampire Willow from Buffy the vampire slayer could be my cuddle buddy despite the danger! I’d still sign up for Vampirism  even when I am as old as I already am!

What’s your least favourite horror?

Much like senpai I don’t really know what is being asked of me. So very similar to senpai I will give multiple answers.

My least favourite horror genre is Erotic Horror… I do realise that is both a cheap option as well as a confliction ones as vampire movies often get the tag.  I am more so talking about movies like Verotika games like Lust for Darkness or the whole cannibalism sub-genre. That last genre died out a bit but I really hate it if people get naked in horror movies for no real reason.. other than “their clothes got torn off”  or this magic ritual requires a naked girl.  Usually the cannibals attack with spears.. .jeesz.. what could you be meaning by that and it often leads into body horror. .. I don’t mind a split head or a severed arm but taking a woman apart in such a way so you emphasis her lady parts I find stupid and annoying and has nothing to do with either horror or erotica in my eyes.

My least favourite Horror movie is Guillermo Del Toro’s Don’t be Afraid of the Dark. Katie Holmes plays dreadfully in this movie and the idea of killer pixies living in the fireplace is kinda dumb. Why do they live there.. because clearly they can get out at times.  Why do they do what they do? Because they want to collect children’s teeth?! The conclusion is even more dumb and while the idea of Killer pixies kinda sounds badass it’s more like those blue guys in Harry Potter turned evil and grey.. than anything else. It drags on and on and the male lead being an unbeliever after seeing so many strange things is more than a little bit annoying! 

My least favourite Horror anime is a toss up between Attack on Titan and Death Note.  They both come up when I look for horror but I do think that Death Note qualifies more ..even though it is kind of a thriller. It isn’t a bad show but it has been completely overhyped for me. The moment we switch to that Heavy Metal opening and the moment Light joins L in that super cop base thing I was so done with this show. The hyper intelligent protagonist just isn’t my thing most of the time but it always felt like this story could only end in one way. It did and I did not care for the journey either.   I am not sure if it is horror but in naming this I am sure I left a few people in horror so we are good here! I don’t think it’s bad, I just don’t enjoy myself with it. With most bad horror I can still enjoy myself.

Do you have a favourite trick or treating memory?

Like I mentioned earlier we do not really have trick or treating because a few days later we had the celebration of Saint Maarten. A guy who cut off his big red expensive cloak and gave it to a beggar. In his honor we used to make a big bonfire..until those got forbidden and kids would walk across houses with little lanterns and sing a song in his name to get some mini candy bars. I tried to take part once.. but immediately my little lantern broke..which was quite common! I mean the light did not function!  I was more upset about my little lantern not having any light as I was worried about candy so I went over to ask my dad to fix it. He did manage to fix it but just as I was about to run away I tripped over a big rock and had a wounded knee! That got me a lot of pity chocolat from people at the bonfire who had some on them to hand to kids who were afraid to visit the nearby houses and I went home satisfied and with a working latern..but a busted leg!

The year after that my bullying started so no one wanted to go singing with me and since there were rumors of a few child abductors in town so I was not allowed to go by myself.  The teachers in school knew this so they came over that year and gave me a lantern and  a package of chocolats.  It was a super rainy day I remember because we would not even go to the bonfire.. even though it was a three minute walk away… so I was quite happy again.  I marched in my room with the lantern I got gifted and sang the song and then went to play Mega Man 2 while stuffing myself with candy!  My class-mates might not like me but the teachers did and those were more important right?! Those made me smarter! At least that was how I used to think!

What’s your favourite thing about Halloween? 

I love the weather around Halloween and the whole theme parking thing I normally do!  I love being chased by monsters but I love setting my friends up for scares even more. One year we would go to the most expensive and visually incredible halloween park in the Netherlands.  Walibi Flevo or Walibi “Holland” .. I hate that term! .. One of my male friends whom I shall refer to as Fit Phil, has ZERO tolerance for horror.  So he always made me go first in the haunted mansions thinking they would scare me .. as a pink feminine person is sure to provoke more reaction then this swoll dude that is a fair bit larger than me and has arms my legs could almost fit in.  He was right for the most part.. but I did not scare that much. I even walked into someone because I thought they would move out of my way! 

I threw some Green Mushrooms at him.. but that only seemed to make him angrier!

Anyway we came to the haunted house he feared most. The one with the movie villians. I wanted to hear him scream so bad.. so I came up with a plan. When  Michael Meyers showed up I pretend to be super scared as he jumped out behind me.. so I pretended to run ahead saying “oh don’t .. leave me alone”  and I dashed a few meters ahead.. now I could walk this house all alone.  Fit Phil bravely made his girlfriend walk in front of him.  So when I entered a room that clearly was based on scream and I saw a cabinet with a huge gap. I held up two fingers.. Second person behind me. I puffed myself up.. “Big guy”  and then I made a tiny heart and a shaking in fear motion.  The door stayed closed and I walked passed.. My friends were catching up. Girlfriend could walk safely. As I moved on ahead I heard him yelling in fear so loudly! That I had a huge smile on his face. I then told all the scare actors ahead that the big guy with the Dragon Ball T-shirt was the most scared and they all targetted him. Outside he wondered why normally they would prank his girlfriend or me..and he could coast of our scares instead!  Then leatherface came out of the house and pretended to saw me in half and then chased away Fit Phil.. how sweet he remembered! I love doing stuff like that on Halloween!

Scary costume or Silly costume? 

As long as it isn’t a slutty costume you are golden! Senpai said the best costumes are the ones that do both and I refer to the teddy bear/John Carpenter’s The Thing costume as proof that she is in fact correct about this.  I do not mind seeing classics so even a sheet with holes for eyes can be kinda cute.. but  those girls who dress up in a latex bathing suit with hooker leggings and some devil ears.. come one guys.. it’s okay to be sexy with Halloween but at least be a bit original. Do what you want but some of these costumes just scream “I am easy”.  To me a good costume makes ask.. who is that!.. So Team Rocket for the win!

What’s your favourite Halloween candy? 

We don’t really have any! Yet there were these jelly monsters I really liked when I was a kid! We had this tiny little candy store in our town and it was super cute. For about 25 cents of our old currency which would equate to about 5 cents right now I think.. I could buy a gummy bug or ghost and they were very tasty! I oftenly ate myself sick on them! They also had nice white chocolate ghosts on a stick!  I loved horror candy so much that for one birthday my mom and dad gave me what is in dutch called “Professor Horribelus, Snoeplab!”  It also was issued in America it seems as Dr Dreadful Food Lab! Here you could make your own Jelly Spiders and even some bubbling brain!  I really loved the taste of the brain! The jellies had some consistency issues and I had the un updated version.. which fixed some potential health or things not working so who knows it could have tasted better if I got the new batch after I hate the first one. It was a great way to make Halloween candies and I later used the molds still to make chocolates and other things for many years.. of course until my last shapes melted away in a freaky accident.  Check out the commercial!

Ghost decorations or skeleton decorations?

 Silly question!  One should never limit themselves!  I mostly use spider decorations in my house for halloween as they are the easiest to come by and our skeletons look kind of tacky at times but I love skeletons as well. I always have this old hot sauce bottle shaped like a skull that I get out as a candlestick older now.. Nowadays it is all dusty and patchy from the wax that went everywhere and I really like it, it gives it a very otherworldly quality.  I really like ghoty decorations too. My father used to have a printing store and the last year I had him print a photo of me as a window sticker!  But I had made the photo transparent and part of my face was replaced by a skull.. so to the unaware eye it seemed at first as if the window would show me in the back as a reflection but if you looked closer it was actually ghost me!… It did not really work out as well as I had hoped because no one really stares out my windows  and I don’t always wear the same outfit as I wore on the window sticker!…  But do spooks like you want! And go as crazy as you want! Even trash bags and dolls can be scary!

It is always sunny in Paradise: Sunshine Blogger Award 9

Today is a big day for Pinkie in her personal life. Not only will we celebrate my sister’s birthday I might also be taking steps for a huge improvement for my quality in life! I am taking steps to move away from my criminally invested, drugs ridden town and move into a much more safer and accepting place! This means this week I have a lot of stuff to get in order and not a lot of time to write! So it is catch up week!  Easy content! That I can write pretty fast! This always includes blog tags! And it is time for my ninth Sunshine Blogger award.  I might do a tenth someday..but that will probably be the final one for a good while.

I was nominated by the Unpopular Popular who is an amazing blogger that shares the same favourite Power Puff girl as me.. even though it was a bit of a  more random pick for them!  They also have some amazing content for you to discover! Unfortunately I am really short on time this time around so I can’t do too many custom images.

What’s the most interesting thing that anime has taught you?

Uhm oh no! Most interesting! That makes this super hard! Now I have to be interested! That is not something I’d usually go to describe myself with. I am an acquired taste. The most practical thing that anime has taught me is to buy cheaper cuts of beef.. put in honey or pineapple juice or cover it with onions and let it sit for a while to get it a lot more tender and tasting high quality than it actually is. No more expensive cut but the more flavourful fatty cuts for me that now I tenderise by breaking down their enzymes. Yay for breaking down enzymes.

However Kamina from Tengen Toppa has taught me not to give up hope. What we see as possible or impossible is only the results of our limited knowledge or imagination. We do not know if two robots will combine or not unless we actually try it even if we do not know all the factors and by what we know now it seems impossible.  The same goes for things like my health, my acceptance in this world and whatever it is that I have to do here! If I believe in myself hard enough and strive for what I want.. that is a worthy fight! I might crash and burn.. but sometimes that is not bad either. Our imagination can break open the heavens and shatter what is currently possible! So what might seem impossible now.. just might be reached through passion.. finding a new way..shattering what people believe right now.

Apparently my blog really hit off?! I mean I don’t really think I can reach fame any other way! Perhaps I am famous for doing D&D games as a DM bringing anime to the world of D&D with my own custom ruleset that I manage to sell? Then again is that really famous?! I’d probably just be some form of pink meme. As I don’t really get meme humor either.. it would explain the surprise of me becoming famous all of the sudden so yes! I am locking in my answer! I became famous as some weird pink meme!

Which anime character is most like you?

There are a lot. I do relate to Koito from Bloom Into You a lot..but she is a bit young. So at the same time there aren’t that many anime characters like me. I don’t booze a lot.. so as a mature anime woman living by herself.. whew.. I am out of answers quickly. Maybe Liz from Liz and the  Bluebird. Do anime movies even count? Misty from Pokémon also is a good shoutout. We both love Pokémon, we both can be very and brutally honest but also quite girly. I would never wear hot pants or such an awkward outfit.. so then I am more like Serena from Pokémon or  Cure Melody. I can be socially awkward enough that I am also a whole lot like Tomoko from Watamote and I present myself like a Dark Magician Girl like person.. and none of these are Dojiko! So either I am really unique or I haven’t seen the right anime yet.

You have been kidnapped by a powerful criminal organisation. The main protagonist of the last anime you watched is the one who must come to your rescue. Would you ever be rescued, or are you doomed?

That depends, do we count anime stuff..as in anime content or literally an episode. When it comes down to anime Content I’d be rescued by Goku.I am pretty sure he has the strength to save me. I am not sure he might not sacrifice me to give the final boss a stronger form… BUT my chances would look up.  If we go on official anime, at the time of writing this it would be Hikaru from Hikaru no Go. Unless he develops powers later on I would be pretty doomed.  Then again I’d probably charm myself into the criminal organisation. They must have kidnapped me for a reason so I got to have something to offer them, I sure as heck know it isn’t money and as long I don’t have to do the killing and it saves my life I do not mind earning some nice sweet criminal organisation cash!  I have TONS of experience with Evil Criminal Organisation Motto’s as well! So I am sure it would work out! I’d get a job in no time!

If you could only watch one genre of anime for the rest of your life, what genre would you choose?

Do tournament arcs count? That’s like a sub genre?  I guess I would have to go with Isekai if we interpret it a bit. We can pile a bunch of stuff as Isekai. Yu-Gi-Oh is about a phantom being reborn in a card player.. isekai.. Digimon.. definitely Isekai. In Hunter X Hunter there is a virtual game arc! Isekai!  Yes I tend to be the person who tries to see how far she can push her boundaries. Kamina has taught me that.. but also law school has and years of Sith Roleplay. I’d get what I want..I am pretty sure I can spin Flip Flappers as an Isekai as well as they go into another world. Kyousougiga… yeah !  I am happy with this choice! But I will cheat!
Speaking of cheating. Cheat Magician was pretty bad!

Choose your superpower (you knew this one was coming!)

Pathokinesis! I determine what other people feel by projecting whatever I want them to feel on them. This is waaay better than mind control. Not only can I make them jump off a cliff.. by making them feel my words have validity. I can also make them happy that they do it!  I’d make Deborah Ann Woll fall in love with me or perhaps someone richer first.. then again I could just visit Bill Gates and make him feel like donating to my blog would make him super happy. Would I feel bad that these emotions are not genuine? No! I mean I would not like to snap my fingers and make Debbie bend to my will. I’d give her a gift and just make sure she really likes it. Who is to say she doesn’t naturally. I just make sure that neither of us is disappointed. If we can get happiness from a pill, why would happiness form a super power be any worse? I’d totally not be a superhero if I had powers.. I mean I’d probably go work for a charity .. for pay.. and make people really feel for our cause.. so I’d do good.. but it would also benefit me. I would not be too afraid to go the villainous route either.. then again I would not commit a crime. Making people give money to me or discard things they suddenly do not like anymore is not illegal.. so would I really be a bad guy?!

Give us one fun fact about you that most people wouldn’t know.

Fun hey! Okay so once I got sooo drunk I believed I was an airplane! I mean someone may have spiked my drink as well I am not sure. We were playing a drinking game and one person I had never met yet advised me to try one  of those special beers in the fridge.  If I liked this and this beer.. that one was the same. He warned me though it was a heavy one and you can get drunk of it very easily. I got cocky and said! I do not get drunk easily!  He handed me one of those beers and I downed it in one go. That was the last thing I remembered. 

The next morning I woke up …at home..covered in dirt..but very much fully clothed and without company or without having done weird stuff, as a friend came by to check up on me! They biked me home last night after I completely lost control at the party. There I claimed to have been on a plane for about one straight hour before I was convinced I should head home! I ran off .. still pretending to be a plane and hopped my bike. Without waiting for any of my friends I dashed off. I biked so fast they barely could catch up with me.. and I am not a sporty biker and they are. I ran off the road off a hill and crash landed into a petting zoo. 

Apparently I got into a fight with a goat.. who was baah’ing at me.. and apparently I was like.. “come at me .. bastard.. have you never seen an airplane before?” I then apologised to it ..or so it is said.. and hopped on my bike again and I peddled up the hill instead of following the path.  At one point I saw the canal near us as a landing strip and I wanted to jump into it to land and stop being a airplane as I wanted to be me again…My friend coaxed me to stop by saying  we needed to land on my driveway.. that made sense to me and the rest went on auto pilot… there were a lot of videos made that night.. and by the afternoon they did no longer exist. My hangover came much much later.. maybe it was jetlagged.

You can invite one anime character to dinner (I’ll let you decide if it’s a date or not ). Who do you invite? Where do you decide to eat? What do you talk about?

Do I have my super powers already?! I mean I am pretty good at empathy manipulation already so maybe! I guess I would say Sayaka from Bloom into you! I plan to make her my Waifu so might as well stick with it. Given how she is in Bloom into you we’d talk a bit about books, and mostly her experience on being gay. It really seems like she wanted someone to talk about that in that show.  Seeing how things are across worlds that might be interesting to her. The Netherlands might be a spot she’d enjoy being and then she is mine! Muhahaha. I’d go out to eat Tapas with her. Obviously our sushi will not meet her expectations and the little food to share makes for a good date and also some conversation. She seems like a person who enjoys food trivia and I have some so the more food.. the more I can impress. 

If you could own any creature from any anime/game/etc as an IRL pet, what pet would you choose?

Pokémon count right?!  So I would pick a Sylveon but then if it was real those flesh ribbons might be weird! I would probably love it regardless it is my favourite Pokémon after all. But If I could get a pet Pokémon I would actually go with Mew! Mew is the ancestor and creator of all the other pokémon after all! So if I get Mew .. I would end all ecological balance on earth but I could get all the Pokémon I want! Yes I am one of those! If I had 1 wish I’d wish for more wishes type of person!

If you could solve any one problem in this world, what would it be?

Something I can make money off! Not like an insane amount just so I can live comfortably without having to do anything else. I do not really believe in pure altruism. In fact I am pretty sure if I solve one world problem without gaining anything my life would actually be miserable. Say for example I solved racismn.. the fact that I magically took that away will mean people will look at me and say “Why did you not cure cancer instead I just lost my wife because of it .. you are evil you chose them above us’ Even people who are being discrimated would say “I could have lived with what I have always lived.. but I can not live without my beloved brother, Fuck you Pinkie’ I do believe this is human nature while people of course would be grateful as well I would not be able to live with all the hate that I got.
A good deed never goes unpunished.

However once you take altruism out of the equation, people suddenly treat you a whole lot more decently! Why did I choose to  end hunger? Well because I have these magic tomatoes to sell.  How do I get medicine for Covid ? No one knows but she is selling it for the price of a Snickers Bar.. thats cheap enough. Snickers for everyone in the world. If you do a good thing for money.. people do not ask .. why would they do that?  I would be appreciated, am better off than I would before and people are less suspicious of my magic because I am not altruistic thus I would gather less hate for my choice.  Strange.. but I feel it works that way. I’ll help anyone but also get rich enough for my own robot unicorn

Would you rather: A) eat only your top three favourite foods for the rest of your life; or B) Eat anything EXCEPT your top three favourite foods for the rest of your life?

That depends, do I need to pay for the food? Or in this situation the food would be accessible to me. I could not afford to keep paying for Sushi , Tapas and Tournedos Rossini/Steak Tartar/other luxurious beef dishes.  So I would starve ..if i had to pay. If it was somehow affordable to me because.. it’s in such excess as it’s the only three foods in the world.. or like due to the power of the Dilemma I get the food… Oh boy I would stick to my top 3 so hard. I’d miss Pizza which is number 4 but there are tapas like that.  It would be unhealthy  but Sushi and Tapas are varied enough to give me a bit of everything and beef is a bit leaner but well red meats and such. Still I rather die 10 years earlier eating delicious stuff rather than 10 years later never eating delicious stuff. I could live without my top three foods but why would I?! Oh Sushi has to include Sashimi or it will replace the entirety of Sushi in favour of Sashimi.

It is catch-up week still on Pinkie’s Paradise so that means I am resetting all my tags to have none waiting, or if I have any left I forgot I had those! So sorry if I missed your tag!  Life happens and such!  I haven’t found a good system to keep track of these yet.  But this is a tag back post!  I tagged and immediately got tagged back! If you could live on a different planet, which one, and why? Any planet is eligible, real, fictional, or imaginary.

Well either it would be something that has pink grass or pink mountains, maybe even pink water. But only one! Not everything has to be pink! I’d prefer the green of the world to be Pink so I could live in a pink forest.  If I had to pick a planet from fiction though it would be Rishi or Illoh. Both fairly tropical beach planets in the star wars universe. Illoh in particular was known as the resort planet. There aren’t that many pictures of it.. but it is definitely out there! If I go live there at least I would not have to rebrand my blog. Rishi might a bit trickier with the black sand on the beaches and all! That really colours nicely with pink though! I’d just have to make sure I go in a time when the pirates are gone!

If you were a Transformer – what would you be? You can pick one or make up your own.

Arcee from G1 seems like the closest fit. She is pink after all. In G1 she can transform into a hover car that looks quite cute! But I also like how in the Micheal Bay movies she transforms into a pink bike! I feel if I had to be a vehicle that would fit. If I could make one up though I’d be a Decepticon because I feel the Autobots can be a bit too goody two  shoes. I’d probably be related to Starscream.. like a bit of a frailer little sister.  I do prefer the transformers that change into vehicles, but much more loyal to Megatron. I’d basically be a sort of Megatron Yandere. I’d like to transform into a pink drone! I could use my camera to spy and fawn over Megatron and in combat it would fire laser beams.  Of course I’d be pink! As a name.. since I am related to the famous betraying plain.. I think StarSiren would be nice.

Let’s go out! What do you want to do or where do you want to go?

If I go out with Summer, I think she might be a bit wilder than me. I imagine her going to those cigar smoke filled blues clubs where a lady in a red dress is flirting with the guys in the crowd. Wrapping a little Boa around them. Whiskey and Brandy served in proper glasses.
That might be a bit intimidating for me. I prefer places where the music is soft enough so I can hear people who I am conversing with and I feel we’d have lots to talk. So I would like to go to a cocktail place. Maybe somewhere jazzlike.. but like anime jazz covers. I would want it to be a bit tacky! Like.. theme park drink placey.. maybe with like some of those decors where animals pop out or like the Tiki Bar from Monkey Island 4.

You can have any anime companion/pet/sidekick – which one and why?

Pikachu because I could sell it for billions. I mean I am pretty sure I could sell a real life Pikachu and live comfy for the rest of my life. Honestly though I would love a little companion to love for myself as well of course. I do not consider other pokémon as companions though so I would say Cream from Sonic X. I love Chao and Cheese is the best. I mean it reflects it’s masters emotions and is one of the most loyal pets ever. If I am sad Cheese will be sad ..so if I feel lazy and not hungry .. I don’t have to feed it either. It eats when I eat, it sleeps when I sleep.. and it probably has to take bathroom breaks when I feel the need.. so it is super manageable. Natsu from Hitman Reborn is another good shout.. basically that is just a pokémon..but it can fuse with my stuff to make me more awesome! 

What’s your favorite monster?

That is a very hard question to me. Technically Pokémon are Pocket Monsters and my favourite Pokémon is Sylveon. Digimon are digital monsters and my favourite one is Daipenmon! Then we have the Universal Classic Monsters and here I am at a toss-up between Dracula and the Invisible Man (or in Particular Invisible Woman). While ible Vampires are one my favourite monster Archetypes, I’d say Dracula has been done dirty a fair few times so I am inclined to give the win to the Invisible person. When it comes to the Toho Monster universe. Mothra and Destoroyah duke it out for first place. As much as I love the slightly more feminine touch of Mothra Destoroyah Is completely over the top design makes it my favourite. I can’t compare them to each other that much but I would love to see Daipenmon take on Destoroyah.. they are about the same size.

What is the most beautiful thing/place/experience you’ve ever seen?

I was really impressed by the city of Porto in Portugal. I talked about that one before. It is such an underrated city though! I’ve been to Barcelona, Venice, Paris and London and non of them can hold a candle to Porto. Venice I found to be incredibly over-rated. It was hot and sunny when I was there so you could really smell the canals. The bridge of sighs mostly was just a bridge. The Doge Palace is beautiful but also a bit ..too much. Porto has  simplicity to it. Even a bar with plastic chairs could look amazing and cozy being tucked away on a slight slanted hill. It never felt as a “huge” city but much more like a amazing little adventure with cozyness and comfort all around. Even when some of the tech looked super sloppy and some buildings way to old.. it all came together in a very nice mix.

What would you do if you suspected someone you knew was a serial killer?

If they were doing it to be with me… marry them! I have a thing for Yandere. I really like a bit of insanity and unpredictability in someone. I don’t need you to go full serial killer but I am much more interested in a quirky personality who does random things than someone who does the whole Disney shtick. In seriousness though it really depends who the person is. I am going to be very clear, I am not going to risk my life for people I do not know. I can pretend to all you guys that I would.. but I’d rather be honest. I would not. My saftey comes first, then that of my friends and family and then that of others. Sometimes I’ll put a friend ahead of myself but it’s not a secret that I look out for me. If I find ways to disable the killer without putting myself at risk fine.. but it’s not like I will break into their house to gather evidence to confirm my suspicion. I am not a horror movie character.

If I factually KNEW they were a serial Killer I’d probably be more on the case. I am going to keep myself safe at all costs and the plan would change depending on our relation and threats to those dear to me. Heck if my bestie Bean or my family would be put in danger I might even go Dexter Morgan on their ass!

Would you use natural healing; supplements, reiki, accupuncture, etc.

Acupuncture seems like a bad idea with how unlucky I get.. I might flop off the table by having a spasmy cramp and really hurt myself. I do take a bit of supplements and use certain esoteric oils, I do kind of believe in all that stuff and my ex did Reiki as well , though never on me.. but I do find it all a tad overpriced in general. At least here that stuff is a tad exploited. For example way back when we had this Aura woman named Jomanda, who cleansed your bottled water and put some positive aura in it. It became a trend for a while and after that..prices really stayed very high. If more of it became a bit more affordable I would probably be more prone to attempt some of these. Right now it’s a lot of money for a long shot.

What is your favorite emoticon?

That is actually one I made for my own discord Channel myself. It’s called Pink John.. and summoned by typing :JohnPink: in my discord. It was just a silly thing I made when everything was better in pink! The tongue out of mouth derpy emote or the sparkly pink heart from the standard emotes are my most used ones though.

What really makes you happy?

Nothing and everything really. I am not really one that gets consistently happy by the same thing over and over again. Sushi comes close, pokémon comes close but I need variety in my life. In everything. I can’t go to the pub with my friends every night. I would be very unhappy.  Yet yesterday I went out for drinks with friends and it made me super happy.   What I want can vary from day to day.. and when I am the happiest is when I am true to myself. Like today I felt like a really greasy lunch! I could say.. nah that is unhealthy and I don’t want to go to the store.. but everything in me shouted for me to have that lunch. I listened to that cry in myself.. and that is what I try to do whenever possible. One day that might lead me to near poison myself with fat and alcohol, the other day it lets me socialise and yet another day it leads me to watch a random anime.  Happiness to me doesn’t come from objects or even persons. It comes from my own desires and me indulging in them.  Those indulgences can involve people, food or activities but sometimes it is as simple as writing a blog or making an image for it. Happiness comes from listening to my heart.

Tell us a Childhood Secret you have never told your parents

I stole a few styrofoam airplanes from the toy store when I was young. Like a four or so! I stole a bunch of things. Mostly glasses from restaurants or things of little value. A friend made me do it but I never stole something worth more than 50 cents..Well okay once I stole a cardboard cutout guy! .. Technically! My friend wasn’t there and the cardboard cutout guy was discarded on the side.. so I just took him and said I stole him from in front of the store! I got mad respect! We hid that guy inside my house even, My parents found it one day they must have been surprised what a guy was doing there. 

Tell us something you have kept secret from us WordPress people until now

I dream about interacting with WordPresser’s a lot. I once saved Irina from a roof in Canada after I was turned into a mutant. Canada was in my dream just a flat next to the USA apartment complex. Irina was not glad I helped her because she wanted nothing to do with me.. so she gave me some money to get some pancakes (breakfast pancakes as it was early in the morning)  and then to leave her alone. I have dreamt of GeekGirlJoy who came over to my place ..for what reason I do not know exactly but she introduced herself as Betty White and laughed.She brought her son who was a hydromancer and he ruined my apartment. I wanted to be on Joy’s good side so I acted like everything was cool.. but in the end I would be hurt and broken a lot.. as if some Looney Tunes character. He reminded me a bit of that, not the Mamma baby from Dinosaurs. I also dreamt of other Bloggers but those two I remember the clearest.

Are you good at keeping secrets?

Mine? Yes!  I can fool people easily! In games and in real life I can fairly easily divert prying eyes or bend their minds from prying too much into my secrets. Ever since I got bullied and I saw how Mom got hurt ..from me being hurt I honed that craft to avoid people being hurt because I am hurt.  It made me pretty good at keeping a few secrets.  Game secrets I am amazing to keep as well.. happy secrets though not so much! Much stuff is locked away though! Deep inside!

Have you ever tattled or told secret’s of others you weren’t supposed to? Of course you have to tell us more?!

One of my heaviest crushes was on a girl who did not reciprocate those feelings at all. I was friendzoned to the max.. and well  for good reason of course!  I knew this but she also knew I was in love with her. Yet she kept telling me every person she was in love with. Mostly boys.. one day she told me she might be falling in love with someone she never tought she would love.. very different from the ones normally. Like not even in the same catergory.. I was like.. “Is she hinting towards me?’  At one point she began to imply there was a girl and I was dumbstruck.. could this be? Then she revealed it was a joke and I got SUPER salty.
The next day a friend whom she had a crush on asked me why she always acted so weird and still being very salty I said.. well obviously she is in love with you duh!.. I was very frustrated. The guy was pretty much out of her league.. not that I want to say league is a thing..but for him..it would be. He can get skinny callender girls and she wasn’t that. She was not very happy I told him.. even though she was simping pretty obvious!  Hey I used that horrible new  word! Look at me being all modern.

Can you stand if people are keeping something secret from you?

Within reason.. I can be fine if someone doesn’t want to tell me something. I am sensitive to it so if you keep your distance I will react in kind. If you don’t tell me how your day is because you don’t want to say it was bad.. I will be pretty short.. ‘So that was the talk? Talk later than bye bye” .. So not sure if that is handling that really well but I tend to pick up an emotion surrounding secrets. What I really can’t stand though is when someone has a positive secret for me and keeps flaunting it in my  face. Oh tomorrow your gonna get a surprise.. I wonder what it will be…. oh fourteen hours till surprise ..special special special. That is SUCH a buzzkill for me. Not only do I know something is happening and the best part of the surprise is gone.. it also immediately overhyped anything the secret could realistically be. If someone tells me they have the most amazing thing in the world prepared for me.. then take me out for tacos.. I do appreciate it.. but somewhere when they told me the most amazing surprise was waiting.. that they meant like.. I won tickets to Japan or something!

Can you tell if people are keeping secrets from you?

Lots of times I can even tell what the secret is. Two friends were secretly dating and I just noticed small things. How when they whispered to each other they would hold each other slightly lower than if they would whisper before. The distance between them, small body motions. I can tell  people keep secrets because of the way they talk differently or choose different conversation flows opposed to what they normally would. I have busted so many secrets. I have been actively trying to tone it down lately but I am pretty sure I discovered another one yesterday! I just need to confirm!

If you could have a secret little stash, where would you hide it and what would you hide. 

I would probably write down all my bad thoughts.. my negative emotions and temptations. I’d want to write them down to calm my head. Like a little Pandora’s box. I hate this person.. I felt depressed after this happened.. thoughts like that.  Of course it would be devastating if mom would ever stumble on that.. even though I live alone, she isn’t always that concerned about my privacy. She’d open a box that says don’t open. So I would have to hide it I would probably hide it in my chest with Pokémon cards or D&D supplies. In the hopes people find that stuff  are boring that a little box of black thoughts would not stand out. 

Which character should be the next DLC/Secret Character for Super Smash Bros

Smash Ultimate showed us that everything is possible. I would love to see a trolly character so I would love to see a transforming character somewhat like Pokemon Trainer.  That would switch in a few Nintendo’ish names. So we get a Bowsette that could transform Ugandan Knuckles into angry mario kart looking luigi into Ultra Instinct Shaggy or something.  Their Final Smash would be Dead Meme, in which the screen is filled with all sorts of dead memes and the enemy has to dodge that.  I would really love something  super random instead of Goku or Dante.. just ruffle some feathers and so something even further out of the box.

What world secret/mystery fascinates you?

I’d have to say probably StoneHenge, I remember a really dark ducktales comic about it .. maybe it was something else.. but I think it was a pocket Donald Duck story.. that started out there  with a heavy focus on druids there.. ever after I was hooked. Who did they do it?! How does it work.. Does it hold bigger mysteries?!  I haven’t ever been there.. partially by choice because I want it to remain unreachable to me.. to keep having that mystical quality without me feeling .. it’s just rocks I don’t feel energy or whatever! Still I hope there we can discover some real magic!

Do you have a crush you keep being secretive about?

Not really, nothing real at least. I am not in love with anyone , nor have I been for a while. I will admit that some of my blogging interactions and banter make me feel good about myself and make me feel really “welcomed” and at times I might overvalue that and almost feel flirted with. Also that person is not Senpai. People seemed to think so. Regardless I would not call it a crush more a wholesome little delusion. Just a really nice energy to have. Real life I mostly confess fairly soon to my crushes. It’s been over an entire year without me desiring a real person.. so maybe I should start buying some cats.

Oh.. right.. I already sarted doing that!

My dear Island Guests, I wasn’t really planning to do these so soon but than I got pretty sick and wasn’t really able to keep up with my writing and I have a busy week ahead! So In rapid succession I will fire a few Blog Tags I have left open to get ahead a bit again. STAFF posts also had a bit of delay due to circumstances so welcome to catch up week! We start with my 8th Sunshine Blogger Award.

Answer their 11 questions then ask 11 questions to 11 new people. However while I will ask 11 questions in none of my Sunshine Blogger Award Posts I shall tag people! If you want to answer these questions leave a comment and I will put a tag to your blog in there.. but I think this one deserves a bit of a rest.

I was nominated by Anime Good Reads! So thanks to them for providing me with the means to actually catch up with my work! Their Blog is filled with bite sized anime goodness so do give it a glance or two!  Unlike me they seem to know how to make their post short but sweet. Now it’s time for answering some questions! Yay!

As a blogger, what is more important to you other than just writing blog posts?

Writing posts isn’t that important as a blogger either, at least not as a hobby blogger.  What is important to me at least for blogging is putting myself out there. People might not read my Isekai story or think I ramble too long about pokémon. People might just stare at their names and the pictures on those lists … but what I put out there is me. People can like that, or dislike that or they can pretend to have read that. I have seen people calling themselves bloggers who just post a synopsis about an anime and list the main characters straight from MAL or Wiki and it gets more likes than my insightful post on the emotional impact of things. I have followed a Pokémon Blog who just posts straight up links to other news sites or slightly phrase a factoid in the news differently. To me that is not blogging. Having a blog is not just writing posts.. it’s adding yourself to online content. Adding your own voice.If I see a blogger who just rehashes content from elsewhere or doesn’t add any flavour of their own .. just to get a post done quicker. I quickly unfollow them. I can read anime news on bigger sites than your blog! I am there because I want to know what YOU feel about it. That is also what I want to do on Paradise. This is me

If you were to create your own anime, then explain how the “protagonist” would look and behave like?

In the series Pinkie gets Anime Powers, I often self insert as a main character in a spin-off anime or a very important character. For example in the stories about Yu-Gi-Oh and One Piece I  make myself a main character, so there are two good examples right there. Then there is my D&D Danganronpa show that I made a post for.  In it people would be trapped in a mansion and forced to play D&D experiencing a full on deep dive if they play.. as the two realities blur.  I never really went into the main character.  She would be a gay woman, as tends to be my defacto, as I find it easier to get invested in my own writing if I go with that.
She would look very girly, but also sloppy.  Think Tomoko but then normal anime girl sized.  Blonde Hair in the house and Pink in the Isekai world.  She would be socially awkward and clumsy. Let’s be honest here! Every anime hero is written as a blank slate for the ideal hero.  Their personality is toned down so we can all relate.  Yet I think it’s fairly safe to say  that nearly all of us here have experienced social awkwardness in some shape or form. A flawed character that has trouble getting things done in the way they do..instead of being overpowered. Make a character really based on your demographic for once. not glamour them up.. most Mangaka should know how we are because most are just like us!

Any best moment or scene from an anime/movie/drama show that you would like to share with us?

Not particularly no! I have talked extensively about a particular scene with a Radio from School Live, a slew of moments from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and a certain stage theme from a video game. Since we are a fairly close circle with people coming and going a bit..but still a fairly close bunch I would hope that people by now know. I can name the favourites of a few of you. So instead I will show you something random! My good geek buddy Geek Girl Joy showed this to me in a reply to my comment on one of her posts. It allegedly is the best scene from the movie so it fits the brief.. but also fits my spirit of randomness and I got to shout out a friend!

Are you a gamer? If yes, then which types of games do you prefer to play the most?

More so than most of the people reading this yes. I am not competitive, I am not a completionist and I might not be particularly skillful but I am a big gamer. I tend to stick to (J)Rpg’s the most.  In particular the subgenre of collectable creature games. About 90% of what I play in that genre is Pokémon games, fan games or rom hacks. However currently I am playing another collectable creature game and you can expect a review on my blog very soon. I am also a big fan of the older (up until X) Final Fantasy games, with VI being my absolute favourite and Chrono Trigger being a bit ahead of that too. I am also a big fan of Tales Of games.  They are a tad predictable but very fun!  I recently also got completely hooked on the mobile game Castle Cats!  Like HOOKED …  and I wasn’t even a cat person! 

What is more important to you, sports or academics?

Is there anyone who got tagged here  that picked sports? I mean we are all geeks! Would I have to choose between the two, Academics go for a much longer way. Up to a point where I think sports is factually the wrong answer. Sports can last you until you are 30 and even then the margin of success is fairly low. At least with academics you get a diploma that can get you into some places. Sports is such an overhyped measuring  standard. .. but so are Academics.

We should not have to prove our worth by being good at something.  We are human beings regardless if we are good at anything. We hold value even if we aren’t fast, strong, clever or wise. Maybe that uneducated friend really is good at comforting you when you are down! Even if she sits at home without a diploma. That freeloader guy who just roams the world and cleans chimneys to make a buck prevents you from monoxide poisoning. A good person is not persé sporty or educated to me. They are happy! Some reach that trough sports, other trough academics others trough freedom.  Whatever route you choose is fine however. What matters isn’t how you stack up to other people! It’s about making choices that make that person in the mirror smile at you in the morning. THAT is what is really important.. I couldn’t care less about the way you get there. I respect those who create their dream world! No matter what skills.. and it depends per person on how they get their. Achievements are hollow if they don’t lead to your happy place.

A few. I share these fairly regularly but let’s talk about the time I almost drowned.  I was a small kid and for a friend’s birthday party we all went swimming in one of those sub tropical pools. At one point we went to play tag in the rapids.  It was a fairly weak stream so it was normally easy to get out. However.. My motor skills aren’t the best and sometimes I can experience moments of great muscle weakness. This was one of the first.  As we exited the rapids all my strength left me and I got sucked back in again.  I could still do the motions but I lacked the strength to push myself out. Unfortunately everyone went on land..to have lunch and they kinda forgot about me. That happened a lot at these type of parties. I lived across the kid throwing the party so I was one of those.. must invite.. type of people not really a part of the clique.  So people usually needed a while to notice when I was gone. I was left in the woods the year before.

So minutes past and I was still stuck, my strength was now leaving me rapidly and I barely had any strength to keep above water anymore. This was like 26 years ago or so , so there weren’t as many lifeguards yet either. Normally there is a rope you can use to exit.. but I lacked the strength to hold onto that. Just as I went under water for the second time I was bumped into a man.. and I thought I was saved. I tried to yell for help but he just looked at me annoyed and pushed me away. Then I went underwater again. Besides the man.. there was no one in the rapids. There were waves in the other half of that pool so everyone went there. I struggled to keep above water, and the guy pushed me away again now exiting the thing calling me a brat. I thought I was done for when two of my friends actually came back for me. They noticed I was gone (within minutes)  and as one of them chased after me the other swam to the exit to catch me. I was so weak I was just tumbling in the water now so my friend swam underneath me and scooped me up as a whale. I managed to put my arms around his neck and he swam me to the “shore”. There they yelled at the guy who let me drown.. and he said.. very dryly  “Oh.. sorry”.  I did not have lunch as I spent a little while throwing up all the water I had slurped in afterwards.

The weird thing after that.. I felt amazing.. two people noticed I was gone and came to save me! That was new to me!  They were so genuinely sweet to me for the rest of the day taking in account my weaker physique , playing games in the water I liked as well as them and in the end we all had fun. It took me a good three years to ever enter a rapid again though. 

Your thoughts on the current “COVID” scenario. (Very Odd Question)

I do hope that “COVID” between these brackets doesn’t mean you think it doesn’t exist or that people over react. I lost my grandpa to COVID19 and for a while we thought we might lose grandma as well. I was so sick I could not attend the funeral. That was quite a bad experience.  Now as for  the whole scenario. People are doing what they can. Everyone who thinks people are being overly careful .. well I’ll be honest I think they are utter idiots. If feel like you don’t need to clean a pen at the bank because you don’t feel sick and you don’t care if you kill someone’s grandma who is next in line as you don’t know her, go ahead and do what you want to do. It’s your life I can’t judge. Maybe you are really not sick! Yet I do get very annoyed when people think it’s an ploy.. or it’s related to 5g or whatever. I am pretty sure they harmed themselves more from smoke inhalation as that they stopped it from creation Corona shaped viruses.

It’s a disease people! Simple as that. While some people might be overly cautious which we will only know in hindsight, it can not really hurt. If they ask you to decontaminate a pen..just to be sure.. What is the friggin harm in doing that? It costs you a second to do that, it might give a 80 year old lady five more years to live..I am not saying it will.. I am saying that the fact that it MIGHT be good enough for you to obey the rules of your country and the places you visit.  Wear a mask in the places you have to,  disinfect your hands when asked and for the love of whoever you worship keep that distance. Is your night really THAT much more fun if you can invite too large of a group?!  Is it worth risking someone’s beloved eldery family member?! Heck is it worth risking someone like me?! I might not be old but I have bad lungs.  I do go out very sparingly but I keep my distance, I disinfect  and I also think of others. (that’s a thing here). My life might be a bit less fun I agree, but if by sacrificing some fun now me.. and that person who got to live can both have fun next year it is very much worth it.

If there are people out there who are of the opinion that old people should sacrifice themselves for the economy I can’t respect that opinion unless you feel so confident about that point that you’d say in your own grandfathers face. Grandpa please sacrifice yourself to the economy.. if you don’t have one anymore.. your dad or favourite teacher or whatever. If you are that convinced  that you would even sacrifice your own family, then you do have my respect. I do not agree…but at least you truly agree with yourself.. instead of the majority of people who spout this nonsense. 

Some skillful dreams that you want to accomplish (Ex. Riding a horse, Practice shooting with real Rifles and Shotguns, Mountain Climbing etc)?

All of those would kill me.Once our school organised a ski trip and I was called into the principal’s office by him and the gym  teachers requesting me to please not sign up for this trip. Because with my motor skills I will get harmed and ruin the trip for everyone. Today looking back at that, that might have been offensive but I actually wholeheartedly agreed.  I even laughed at it back then! I was really worried I was called in for something bad.  They just expected me to cry and feel left out and did not want to create drama in front of the school for asking the clumsy kid not to go on a ski trip. My toxic father also always discouraged skillful dreams as he always said I would not be able to do it.  So nothing in the adventurous sense.

I would live to learn Japanese properly though! Preferably with a study buddy so I have like a partner to spar with. Like Fitness you don’t do it when you’re alone.. at least for me. Of course this knowledge would be used to make a trip to Japan.. maybe I’d even migrate. I feel sometimes I need a change of pace. At least for a few weeks I would love to live in that other world and a language as foreign as Japanese can help me feel like I am in that strange place even more.

Any countries or places where you want to visit just to relax and chill?

So in Japan I would have lots I actually want to do! To Chill I love to go to Spain. Mostly the regions of Barcelona.  A smaller town nearby there. Like Calella or even more so L’Escala. I also would love to take another  trip to Porto in Portugal, such a pretty town! I would love to just sit there sip Port and watch the trollies or the boats pass by.  I oftenly have sore muscles and some sunshine and heat really makes me feel much less cramped up..so again would finding a job not be so hard for me while sick.. I’d probably move away. 

Arrange the following points based upon the priority (high to low) that you consider the most while watching an anime. The points are : Story, Characters, Animation, Music and Dialogues.

Characters: I very much want to care about people and if I don’t I tend to not like an anime that much. I really dislike Lelouche so I don’t like Geass. I do really like the characters from Hitman Reborn so that’s an anime I really enjoy. If we compare anime to a car, characters would be the engine. You can’t get far without an engine.

Story: If Characters are the engine of a car, the story is the road the car drives on .. the trip you make with it. If I don’t want to drive to Heroes-Victory, I will not drive on Shonen Street.  I can choose a trip across the things I want to experience based on the premises of a story alone. If I want to feel peppy all I have to do is read what an anime is about and I will know if it’s for me or not. The road of course has to be smooth for me to enjoy the ride. If there aren’t enough signs to tell me where I might be going I might be lost and end up stranded.  If there are too many bumps in the road I will never make that trip again. We all want a smooth and somewhat streamlined ride! Sometimes it can be fun to search a bit for that ideal spot we want to go on a road.. but it really depends on the trip

Dialogue: This is the steering wheel of anime. It keeps the car in check and on the road. Need a character to follow a certain plotpoint? An exposition line can keep him in check.. or through dialogue he can find a reason to follow the story. It also helps us understand the characters better than just their art or their actions so obviously I can’t put this one too far down my list! Good written dialogue can make so many other things obsolete and enforce them.

Music: The Radio of the car, it will make a trip more passable and helps make your experience a lot more pleasant. Nothing feels greater than putting some Radar Love on while on the road, or Highway to Hell when cruising on the American numbered routes. It makes you feel more powerful and it will help you on your trip. In anime this is the same.

Animation: Ah the windscreen wipers of anime. I do not get why people think this might be the most important. I do like motion and seeing an impact but I have as much fun with the animation of Castle Cats than I do in say Mirai Nikki. A Kamehameha in Super Sonic Warriors on GBA  feels as impactful to me as one in full HD in Dragon Ball Kakarot.  It’s just like windscreen wipers. Sure it helps you imagine the road for you better.. but even in the rain you DO have a functioning brain that can fill in the blanks you might miss. Sure you NEED some visuals but I like slide shows just as much as actual anime if the rest of these are good enough. So yes.. windscreen wipers.

In future, will you change the ‘prime niche’ of your blog or continue to write on the same topic?

I already have like six niches on my blog, I don’t really write in a single Niche.. I write about what keeps me busy. Which is divided in six different sub niches in general. But mostly I am my Niche… will I change that? No never. Might I shift from anime into fashion? Probably not but if I really get obsessed with dresses or cosplay I will tell you about it. I can’t tell how I will change.. heck  my heart might stop tomorrow and the blog is left to my staff and then horror fiction becomes it’s main niche. Or I might be able to blog from another world.. and the niche will change to my adventure.  I don’t write for you guys, I write for me and I am me..that won’t change. I just hope you can enjoy me.. or some of the things I do.

So Eggy asked me these! In these I will be a bit more trough as I assume he would really want to know my answer and that is why he asked me! In one I dug really deep in a bit of a self analysis (it’s amazing how Insomonia can lead to self discovery as I had nothing better to do as i lay awayke) so feel free to first paragraph skim trough!

3 songs you recently discovered

Oof … I am not big on music.  I don’t listen to a lot of music for music sake so for me to discover music I have to stumble upon it through another way. This question is better viewed on my site as it will display Youtube videos.. reader doesnt show that! So one song I recentely discovered would be Lohse’s song from Divinity  Orginal Sin 2. I really liked it.. it feels quite poplike! At first I thought they just stole it from something! But I could not find where they would have gotten it from.

I guess the second song that I would have to nominate is Serendipity, the opening to a show called Flip Flappers, It is a very catchy song with a nice power spike! The show has become my favourite watch of my Saturday Anime Adventure posts so this opening has me pumped!
Since I watch it as if it’s on tv I want to skip them either ! Yeah! 

As for a third.. this is going way .. way further back. to the 5th of june.  When I discovered  Megami 33 and her amazing cover of the Dragon ball Broly song.. main theme.. Blizzard. I love her voice in this  and her interpretation of the song  Pretty sweet over all!  

What’s one thing you don’t like about yourself?

Oh there is plenty! The shall talk about the most noticable one for WordPress though. I do not have a whole lot of self confidence, even while I logically can see I am not disliked at all and am generally well accepted in the blogging community, I have what I call this demon on my shoulder. As soon as someone who likes me on a daily basis suddenly doesn’t leave a like I think  they actually do not like me.. that they finally lost the ability to stomach me. Many people in the anime community are very important so if someone of the big people ever does so I actually have nightmares about losing my blog.  I recently did some self investigation and I think I know why.



I was a fairly popular girl when I was a kid. My dad had a company and made a fair amount of money so I had a NES and SNES, I had some pretty cool toys, I was smart and the only thing that was really wrong with me was that I moved weird. My motions were stiff and it seemed i was stiffening up. I was good friends with the popular kids.  One day during gym class my friends began exploiting my physical limitations. We played knock out soccer, which I loved .. but I wasn’t given a single moment to play.  As soon as I came in again I was eliminated by physically fit soccer players so they could score the highest elimination number.  At one point I got intensely frustrated and told the teacher they were exploiting what was wrong….

I should not have done that.. the teacher did indeed see that they were doing this.. and me being smart made me somewhat of a teacher’s pet. So he disqualified their score for just hounding the weak and ruining their fun.  Poor sportsmanship at all.  It turned my classmates to pick on me.   It resulted in 4 years of intense bullying. Friends were people who threw worms at me..that was 2….since those other kids we so popular 16 other kids tormented me day in day out. I could not play outside anymore cause they would throw trash at me.. or trap me in a trashcan. They once even tossed me in barbed wire. Yet I never blamed them.. I blamed me.. I made the popular kids hate me. So now whenever a Lita ignores me, Irina disagrees with me or Scott or Jon do not understand my point of view.. I feel terrified it will happen again… it’s been 25 years and I can’t let that go… So what is bothering me most?Maybe its my self esteem issue issue I have, maybe it’s that demon, maybe it’s my fear of losing everything yet again.. but that part of my life is something I really do not like about myself.

Name one thing you like about your blog

Awww just one?! I love my blog! It’s very precious to me! I think my blog is really my own, I mean. I share it with other writers now.. but  there is a uniqueness to it that I really like. I really walk to the beat of my own drum. It is a mix of everything geeky and everything me.. and I think writing for this blog is the happiest I have been in years.  It really feels like my geeky resort where I can finally relax and let things go. It reflects so much of my character, with the bright colours, the random elements and the blending everything together in a bit of a chaotic mix! This is me! I need to update that tagline though as soon as the others being posting their writing.

One thing you want to improve in

Focus, ever since my  burnout in 2018  I have had a hard time keeping my head straight. Sometimes I have some many strains of thought in my head I can barely keep them separated. There are times where I am working on a blog but also think on what groceries I need to buy and what I am going to do in the evening and it blends.. I  end up looking in the supermarket for stuff to make cocktails with even if I went there to get some flavoured water. It’s worse when I try to sleep. Sometimes I have to sort through  video game menus to “save” just so I can get the compulsion out of my head, usually there is a song or two playing as well as a lot of blog ideas going for the next day.  As a result I work incredibly inefficiently during a day and I struggle to keep everything in order.  So a bit more focus would be nice! I should be able to do that. 

What TV show/anime could you watch over and over again?

There aren’t a lot of shows like that. While I have no focus I do have incredible memory. At age 33 I am not as good at it as I was anymore but I used to be able to identify CSI episodes by soundbites or fairly standard sentences like “I parked and sat there for 2 minutes crying then I got out’  Or by one of those Horatio can glasses phrases. I know exactly if we saw an episode or not while playing a game of Quake III Arena and if it was a new one I would come and watch if not I would tell my family we would have seen them.  Remembering something phrase by phrase makes it a whole lot less enjoyable. I can watch a show on repeat as background noise.. you know to have someone talking in the background so I don’t feel as alone in my house.. but I rarely focus on something I have seen before. Friends in an exception  from a kid on my sis controlled the vcr and she would watch friends every day. To socialise with her I had to watch that as well .. we watched it a lot and to this day I can still repeat that with friends.. and series in said style. A family super power of sorts.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I live in a tiny bungalow.. lot’s of pick pillows on grey elements. A white wooden floor and a fireplace is lit. A spectacled woman is sitting on the couch reading a tablet. I come in with two cups of tea, she smiles at me and tabs a spot on the couch next to her. I put the tea on the table and fold my entire legs onto the couch. She wraps a little pink blanket around me and puts a grey blanket around herself.. she then hands me my tea and while both hold her our tea with both hands she gently leans her head against mine. “I read the thing you wrote today,” she says to me. “It was really funny, that new artist is really good’ 

I live with a woman I love and make my money writing or promoting something, my health cleared up a bit but is most likely still somewhat frail so I got into a low effort job while she makes a lot of money doing something techy. We aren’t that rich but get around well enough.  Suddenly Fish comes waddling in the room, he is our pet duck. We live in the city outskirts but close enough so I can do all my grocery shopping by foot.  No desire to have kids. We sometimes geek out and we have a nice library of comics and Manga. Every thursday we receive friends and I DM for them.. with an official and neat game table, otherwise we go to parties of friends a bit like barbecues and every so often a trip to the pub but it’s all very low key. We put a silly hat on fish. We have a drawer of silly hats and put on the tv. We watch the Mandalorian Season 10 or that feminist Star Wars show.. after it is over we pull out a retro game console the NES as we play trough Ducktales together. Where she sings Della Ducks version of the moon theme to me.. replacing some words to sing them to me! So no Darling Baby Boy.. but Darling Pinkie Girl or something! We are happy! Also it’s been almost three weeks since I inserted this sone somewhere!

If You Could Change Your Name, What Would You Change It To?

For real to Pinkie.. maybe.. or Elle I really like Elle.  She is a beloved character of mine who I identify with very much. She’s super weird and very much asexual  and clumsy as heck.. but in a way she is just a characterised version of myself.  So in a way she is almost more like an ;ess nuanced me.  More pure me! So that would be a great name.  Pinkie of course would be great because when I inevitably (this is a joke)  reach internet fame everyone knows me by my real name. .. In fact when  I have been writing a lot.. I sometimes address myself as Pinkie in my head. Pinkie don’t forget to go to the store dear! It will be rather crowded if you wait any longer. Don’t forget you have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow Pinkie get a bit of an early rest. I am using that handle in games as well makes it even more convenient. Most mortals and fleshy people I know call me Denise still though.

If you’re an actress, which one movie would you like to play?

I am a little old to play Ramona Flowers in Scott Pilgrim or Ramona’s lady love But that would be a role I would very much like to play.  So does voice acting count?! I count it as action so I would count it! I would love to voice Webby Vanderquack in Ducktales.. but that is more of a series. There is a character in the Lego movie I would love to voice as well.. so perhaps that one! Which character that is I will answer in the next question.

Name one fictional character that resembles you the most.

That would have to be Princess Unikitty. While she is more of an extravert we both love random stuff, we both love pink and we both can have a fairly short temper.. We also cry a lot more than we let on. We love to fool people and we both rule over our own Paradise. Both of use move a bit awkwardly and are quite stiff but we have a metaphorically good heart. We also both get sea sick super easy!  So she is also a voice I would really like to do if I was an actress. Pinkie Pie from my Little Pony as well ..as long as the character is pink I will voice it ‘Jigglypuff!’

So I will answer my own questions briefly as this tag makes you answer your own questions.. That is pretty awesome! I love that feature! I won’t have to dig that deep for an answer though so these answers are short ones! I would love to explain more if you ask! 1.If you could live in any other country in the world where would you live?

Tokyo Japan of course, though Spain would be a second great option..if I could live in some comfort of course. Japan I would never go to without speaking the language at least a bit but there is so much I would like to explore there. From a fairly new cuisine and ruleset to an almost alien culture. There are also of course my favourite things in the world there. Heck it would kinda feel like an Isekai.. and I am at a point in my life where I really would love a start from zero. If I land in front of a truck there I might even actually be isekaid. Also I heard Tokyo has a really neat café!

2. Do you believe in ghosts

Yes I have had several experiences, I saw a man in my house whose picture I only later saw on a nearby graveyard, a woman named Melanie reached out to me in my flat.. I got a piece of paper and asked her to make me write something. I wrote out a much clearer message than I thought which was information I later was able to verify. It had to do with town history stuff i was not aware off (consciously)

I do however not believe that ghosts are apparitions of the dead.. I do belief they are memories of other people like them.. So for example a school teacher tells the kids a story about Melanie.. they vividly imagine her and for some weird reason I pick up that memory As if I am receiving a brain wave of someone else sort of. 

3.  If you’d reincarnate as an animal of your choice what animal would you be.

A tamed duck!  Just waddling, making cute sounds..and being an actual duckling at some point in my life! That would be grande, I could swim, I could fly, I could have a family that makes me wear silly hats. I love ducks! I do not know why but they endear me so!  I would also not mind being a Micro Pig.. I mean I’d be too small to eat and I’d be a pink pet so that would be a great shout out as well. In fact I’ll go with the Micropig and the duck can be my best friend!

4. If you could learn any skill instantly what would it be?

The Japanese language, it takes five to ten years to develop that skill fully and I have only dipped my toe in the water for a teensy tiny bit! If I am ever to reach the pokémon café in Tokyo I would need some magic! It would be pretty awesome! Plus I might be able to make a few bucks out of simply that skill here in the Netherlands! So please Arceus make that happen!

5. Do you ever use Weeaboo speech?

Yes I wish people Oyasumi instead of Good night on Twitter, I use terms like Tomodachi and Nakama and sometimes use Nani! I am inclined to start posts with Konichiwa but as soon as I did that one guy on WordPress made a post on how much he hated such antics.. so of course my demon told me I would be outcast if I kept it up! So now the terms are only used on Twitter and Tomodachi and Nakama are only used for award tags or if I really do not think there is a fitting english word for it!  Please do not exile me!

6. Is there anything you are passionate about , that isn’t a subject on your blog?!

Hmm I made this very hard on myself since my subjects are very broad.  Something I rarely talk about on my blog , but I have mentioned is that I love Board Games. Just with my boardgame friends having moved away and Covid running rampant there is a lot time for me to play it. My favourite Board Game is Dead of Winter! That game has everything for me! I am also quite a big foodie! My current kitchen is a bit small to cook properly but I love experimenting in the kitchen! To varying degrees of success I might add.

7. Are there any bloggers you take inspiration from?

Obviously one of them would be Irina for me, but I also really like how Ospreyshire and Blerdy Otome do their blog!  Then there are Lita and Scott as some figureheads for the community! I do like the quirky bloggers a lot so K from K at the movies is also a form of inspiration. Do your own thing and what makes you happy as a blogger. I really get that from all these people and they all helped me mature as a blogger. No tags! No pictures! Just love!

8. Name an experience that would be on your bucket list

For those who do not know what a bucket list is.. it’s a list of things you want to do before you kick the bucket/pass away. For me the biggest one and most obvious one would be a trip to Tokyo.. one where I do not really have to hold back financially either. A fourteen day trip at least! I would like to do so many things!  I want to go to Sanrio Puroland, I want to go to a shinto temple, I want to go to an Izakaya and of course I want to go to the Pokémon Center and the Pokémon café.

9. If you were a flavour of Ice-cream what flavour would you be?

Raspberry! Everyone sees the punk frozen paste in a bin and thinks I am Strawberry! Because that’s the first thing their mind goes to! But I am a little different! Slightly more of an aquired taste and way way waaaaaaaaaay less erotic.  I mean what’s up with strawberries in that perspective!  I also am a little awkwardly shaped. I am not oftenly people’s favourite but every once in a while I am really appreciated for who I am. I am actually quite enjoyable if you pair me with champagne..but heck..that goes to strawberries again! So if you get me drunk or get me chocolate you’ve got a friend in me…but if you want to wrinkle your sheets stick with a strawberry or a pineapple!

10. What is the next thing you have in your agenda/planned after writing this post.

Oh I am going to Mamma Pinkie for a day and a half! We are going shopping together, and having dinner together and sharing a few drinks together and talk about a very mean man as we gossip! Other than that I do have an appointment with my psychologist scheduled on Friday and a dinner with possibly a walk with my friend. It will depend on how much energy I have in my little body! I am plagued by Insomnia so I am running on fumes a lot of these days! In the agenda is Dinner +?. So we will see about that +?! I will tell you about it sometime I am sure!

I had a hard time saying that because I should not say that off my own posts!

So if you want to read something with a bit more substance and than my usual posts they are definitely checking out! Speaking about the checking out, let’s check out their questions. 

For you, how do you tell if an anime is high quality in terms of visuals?

Honestly.. I don’t.. There are styles I like and I dislike and usually the flashier and more extravagant the more I like it. I HATED the visual style of Tower of God and really dislike some screenshots I saw  of The God of High School.. but I love the graphic style of Kill la Kill, The Rolling Girls, Tengen Toppa and Kyousougiga. I rarely call animation good.. I just say what I like. Flip Flappers is something I have recently fallen in love with.. so yeah I guess the answer would be . .bright colours? Super Natural visuals?! Jojo’s is yet another example …ooh and  No Game No Life. So yeah COLOURS!  I am pretty sure! So if I ever say I like the visuals I say I like the colours. The brain is such an amazing tool that can fill in blanks so I for one seek out the impossible rather than that which moves smooth! I like big contrasts as well.

Maybe that is also why I dislike visuals in anime like Attack on Titan and stuff like Vinland Saga as well. I want a certain level of surrealism  in my animation. It helps the  suspense of disbelief. If I see a very gritty drawn anime,  more often than not feel less invested.. as if I know the limits more. I really love anime with intentionally bad animation as well! It makes me laugh! One style I have particularly come to enjoy is the new fluent animations in Dragon Ball Broly. The most recent movie yet again I am not that facinated by how fluent the motion is but how different the colours are. It might look simpler, but what is there feels really right and it can be contrasted so much more! Yet in reality I do not really know.. I can see stuff I like and go like.. ooh pretty.. and then see the faces in God of High School and go like…eew..in the end it’s not that important to me.

Do you like to listen to anime OSTs sometimes?

I do that a lot. Music to me is much more about memories rather than inspirational texts. Not being all that active in the romance scene, the whole break up songs or love song idea already doesn’t gel with me.  I can’t relate.. and even worse.. I do not care  about other people’s love lives. Sure I want my friends to be happy.. but hearing how Rihanna had a bad boyfriend does NOTHING for me. So that’s a lot of music out of the window already. When music invokes a memory however.. for example the fight music for an anime fight I really loved it gets my blood pumping.. sort of. I am slightly more inclined to listen to game soundtracks than Anime variants but when I write my anime fan fiction I almost always listen to anime music. Every once in a while I do listen to my favourite anime openings, English covers or the Love Live stuff!

What’s an anime that you consider a masterpiece?

This is a hard one, a masterpiece is something I would recommend to everyone. My taste is a mix of super generic and super weird. I generally dislike Iscar movies. I do feel that The Godfather is no doubt a masterpiece.. but I don’t like it. The thing that is closest for me would be Kyousougiga. Make sure to watch the explanation episode to see the deeper themes and this is a very deep show.  It is certainly not for everyone. but there are a lot of artsy elements in it to fit the brief.  My biggest recommendation at the moment  would be Flip Flappers though! I just think that one is a bit more accessible and slightly more low brow so I am not sure if I would call it a masterpiece, I love a lot of anime but calling something a Masterpiece usually ruins it for others. Overhyping kills anime. I have my gallery of sweethearts though.

What’s an anime that’s so horrible you think it shouldn’t exist?

That is a bit of a meanspirited question. Every anime has a fan, and as long as an anime has a single fan..it has the right to exist. There are also very few anime I passionately hate as I usually just think an anime is not for me.  I think  saying you are a fake anime fan because you do not like (x)  is the same as saying stuff like. “You did not like Game of Thrones?..Well then you just don’t like TV Shows” The world of anime is so vast and the fact that it exists means it has an audience. Just like Mobile games.. A friend of mine actually plays Raid Shadow Legends *hurling sounds*  and she loves it. Good for her.. so my feeling towards it doesn’t mean it should not exist.  I feel the same way about anime. Every anime has a fan and as long as one person gets joy.. it should exist. We aren’t forced to watch something we don’t want, we can just walk away and pretend it doesn’t exist. No need for erasure!

I have spoken out against a few anime that I really dislike.. but I mostly dislike them as much as I do because I can’t say anything bad about them. A friend even kicked me out of his house once for saying Geass is just okay, I had some issues with the writing and the way mechs felt shoehorned in. I didn’t even say it to hurt him.. he ASKED me , what Anime do you think is overrated. That hurt! and it made me shift from not liking the anime to actively disliking it. Yet no matter how much I dislike something  The fact that it is out there doesn’t make my life worse, I don’t have to watch it if I don’t want to. If I’d delete it.. I might gain one night with my friends where they initially planned to watch Geass, but my friends clearly would lose so much more. If that anime is worth kicking me out of their house for.. by saying I thought it was okay..but not great.. than clearly it means more to them then to me.I would never take that away from them.. and I think that goes for every anime. Even the ones worst reviewed on MAL..someone out there in the world is super proud that their mommy or daddy helped made this.. or voiced that  character…for them it will always be more important than to me. So all anime should exist. Maybe I would erase, Erased… just for the memes…

What are your favorite colors for anime eyes?

Let’s see how many people can guess this one! For those who don’t know the answer yet.. it’s a bit of a mix between red and white and if you look at my blog you may find hints. Others than the obvious I really like golden eyes or bright yellow ones. I also like it when they are special like Nia’s eyes in Tengen Toppa, or like people who have galaxy eyes. I don’t like Naruto eyes though! So I guess my absolute favourites would be pink ones with something special like a pink iris, white heart shape pupil! Sorry if that shocked your world!

Can you help 7Mononoke think of some cover/banner image ideas for Anime Rants?

Sure.. I will add in a few suggestions. The general idea I have is based on the fact that you take a lot of inspiration from psychology. So I would either use a psychiatric couch  with an anime character laying on it and your avatar being there as the psychologists. Talking.. ranting.. or I would find a  picture of a brain and use it in a sort of diagram with some anime characters surrounding it. I will show you a suggestions. Because that is kinda my thing!

Something in this vein! Of course this version has a lot of errors in it because it is just a suggestion but I could see you use something like this. It shows your intellectual and psychological take on anime.. is in green which is your main colour and has a few nice contrasting tones. The inkt blob stuff is to even add more credibility to the shrink theme and of course your avatar is there! Cause she looks smart as well!

How old were you when you got into anime?

While I watched Alfred J Quack from my earliest days and loved Maple Town when I was three years old or so, that real anime moment for me did not not come until April 2008. That meant I was already 21 years old.. the same age as I am now.. just I have been 21 for twelve years now. .. getting close to my 13th 21th birthday. So yeah.. much like with anything in my life I was a late bloomer.  Part of this was due to me being very much bullied and trying to be normal.  It did not work out and now I am a weeb.. Yet as a result I have only reached my anime maturity after I was 25. When I was a lot more emotionally calm. This is why I still very much treasure some of the super classics even if they are not THAT good. Like Digimon, Dragon Ball Z and Medabots heck even Oban Star Racers. So this is why my taste in anime is like the super kiddy classic stuff.. and the super weird stuff. Maple Town is still pretty cute as well!

In your opinion, can an anime still be “good” and have poor, cheap art/animation?

Have you ever played a retro game and loved it? Of course!  Manga draws in people even when it is non animated in the form of Manga.  That means that story can just be as enjoyable with cheap art. Plenty of Manga don’t have great art either. Not that I am a big manga buff. I love retro games.. stuff where the visual quality also matters less. To me the best games and anime aren’t the ones that do everything right.. to me the best anime are the ones that do some things so amazing that you can forgive their other flaws. The flaw I prefer the most is bad visuals.. as I can sorta spot them but don’t care that much.

There is a  visual design that can kill shows for me like Digimon Appmon or those shows that use a lot of that quasi cgi..but design is but an element.  An anime has to have heart. A lof of anime with bad quality visuals now have that and they have to try harder.. kind of like that South Park episode about ugly kids.  I would rather date a girl with burn scars in her face but who is witty and has great stories than date a beauty who can not shut up how coveted she is. Anime is exactly the same.  I will NEVER EVER watch an anime just because it has good visuals.  At worse bad visuals reduce the number of episodes I give an anime a chance to win me over. Weird visuals do draw me in but they don’t need to be good! Yay for Gal and Dinosaur.

Do you have trouble getting motivated to write blog posts and if so why do you think that is?

In this day and age, everything can be measured. We see how fast our own blog grows, how fasts others grow and how much likes we both get. As a result it is easy to start comparing.
For example my Breaking Bad X Shokugeki Crossover Challenge blog did pretty terrible. A lot more effort went into that one than say.. One of these blog tags. I score pretty well on those.
I won’t on this one because it will come out late. If I post past 13:00 oh clock my time, my posts usually go dead. Because bigger and better bloggers post around this time as well. I get flooded under bigger names. That can be very demotivating. Add in the fact that we are brainwashed over social media over the importance of likes. Trough YouTube we get a feeling that people are here for you, while in reality they are here for the community. It’s very easy to get caught up in toxic self importance. When it seems like 40 people like what you read the brain is quickly to say .. people love me. Which to an extent is true.. people do notice us! Yet it is easy for those 40 likes to become your new standard. In that case only getting 8 likes.. will make it easy for you to think.. People are done with me now.

However all those measuring tools we get mean nothing.. because we can not look inside peoples heads. I know some people who mean a lot to me only click like on my blog without reading…or so I think..perhaps they just do not know how to respond. Perhaps they are on their phone and typing a response is annoying.. and perhaps i am right and they did not even read my post.That is only a handful of options yet we tend to assume the worse. If I get less likes than normal I think people hate me now cause I preformed better earlier. While maybe there is like a big press conference in the states and everyone is watching..by the time they return to their reader my post is pushed way down.. that has NOTHING to do with me. Perhaps WordPress is not showing my posts in reader.. it happend before! Yet because we as a species let our highs become our new standards.. each time I break a record I could wonder.. why doesnt this post preform as well. As long as you write for others, WordPress will start to burn you out. If you are a hobby writer like me.. do it for yourself and the rest is a bonus. Any like or comment is a bonus not a new benchmark! How others score should be completely left out create your own happy little world.

Have you ever taken a MBTI 16 Personality test and if so what type were you?

Yes I am an INFP , mediator type personality. I am sure 7mononoke can tell you much more about this role but it is said that these persons love to act and play a role..As a Tabletop roleplayer that makes sense. They are also inclined to pick up writing.. I wonder when I will start doing that. They talk using metaphors  and compare stuff with other things oftenly to make their point. If you ever read ANY of my blogs you have seen me do this a lot. Like A LOT.  INFP people can easily get consumed in their causes.  Like me wanting a more positive internet.. and they can get consumed by that. Which you have seen me do as well.

I do think these tests a a bit like Horoscopes,  and people are  always in flux. There are times I turn off my emotions and are ruled by logic. There are times I am more extroverted so to say that his label defies me is going a bit far. I do think at best the tag will help you understand me. I do not act a certain way because I am INFP.. I am INFP prone because I act a certain way. I am not definable by my bias to logical or emotional thinking. Being an introvert doesn’t mean I can not be extroverted in fact some of my friends might call me an extrovet because they do not remember me being introverted. In the end I am Pinkie.. Pinkie will act like Pinkie because she is Pinkie and not because she is INFP .. so while you can take a gamble on how I will respond, Pinkie reserves the right to surprise you still! This might not even be my final form.

This time I am not going to copy the rules! I seriously do not think there is anyone who doesn’t know them by now.  Display the logo, thank the one who tagged you, answer 11 questions, come up with 11 questions.. nominate 11 people.  Eleven people is too much to nominate so I will nominate three. By the end of doing these three sunshine blogger tags I have nominated 11 people!

Celestial Sparkles is the one that tagged me and of course she deserves my gratitude! I am honoured that so many people keep tagging me! I do feel loved and that is a great feeling that makes these questions so much more fun to do! I am not just writing for myself.
My dearly appreciated blogging buddy also has taken a shine, pun intended,  to my style of doing these and adds Pinkie Pie.. to all her stories which I really love! As a result I now imagine she is a pony in real life.. but Pinkie Pie is so emotable it makes for amazing visual presentation! Check it out here! Since  Celestial Sparkles uses Pinkie Pie as her avatar, Pinkie frequently interacts with Pinkie! Which is lovely and both confusing. So now let’s see if Pinkie can ask the questions of Pinkie.

What is the most geeky thing about you?

Well I dream that I have to patrol the city with Darkwing Duck, or that I have to do a Shokugeki against a vampire girl making Goulash, that’s pretty geeky. My house is filled with Pokémon, there isn’t a piece of non geeky art on my wall and if I could drive I would certainly drive in the Pikachu car. I don’t think there is a lot that is not geeky about me. I go out for drinks.. but I play games a lot more. I watch anime weekly sometimes more.

If you really want to know what is the most geeky thing about me.. it’s probably that with a picture I know like 95% of all Pokémon.. if not 100%.  I can recognise a fair few  by their cry, I know the stat distribution of most, in a lot of cases I even know what colour they are slotted in according to their pokédex.. and no it’s not as easy as it might sound.  I even had a pokémon adventure at conventions and my lifelong dream is to visit the Pokémon Café in Tokyo! Like it is my second highest dream.. with the first one being hidden because it’s too personal.. some might be able to tell what it is.. but yeah Pokemon Café Tokyo is the place I would visit if I could go anywhere in the world. That’s pretty geeky I’d say! Though some might call it being a Pokémon Loser.

What is the next Anime that you are planning to watch?

Actually It is time for me to generate another random anime to watch so for me to answer that question I go to randomanime.org generate a list of anime and then roll a random number between 1 and 50 as I pick that spot on the list. So the next anime I am going to watch apparently is Nanana’s Buried Treasure! I am not going to read anything about it and watch the first 5 episodes and then check if I will continue it!  I really like random elements in my life! I know there are so many great suggestions to see.. but I like not knowing what will happen or what I will experience the next day. So I don’t plan a lot.. I just go with this stuff and somewhere I decided that once per month I roll a random anime and watch it.. last month’s pick.. unfortunately was not good enough to write a blog about. It was Stan Lee’s The Reflection.. I just could not find words to write about it! So let’s hope Nanana’s buried treasure fares better.

If you could write out your life story, how would that story go?

As in how will it go from here?! That would not be something I really like to do.. I do have my struggles and gripes with life right now and I went to a very depressed spell thinking of just giving up a while ago but I think writing my life out would be worse. Always knowing what is going to happen?!  I mean.. I’d use it to get filthy rich and support all of you on Kofi and donate to your websites and all.. but also get a super comfy home and probably host my own convention or such. That’s a dream I also have.. hosting a con!   That might actually make a neat  story on how I’d accomplish that. Talking to dealers, dealing with my own social anxieties to realise this dream.. and of course visiting the Pokémon Café in Tokyo to have a conversation with a band we are booking.. my trip and food of course would be factored into the admission ticket price. Yet if I write out my life.. I set up expectations for my life.. dreams are nice but if dreams become expectations it can lead to unhappiness and discourse and I want to avoid that. So if at all possible.. the story of my life remains unwritten until it happens. If I know stuff is going to happen life would be very boring.

What was the saddest Anime scene you have watched?

That is something I could not spoil.. it involves a little girl, a radio and the sweetest most helpful teacher you ever saw. While it is a somewhat comedic scene I knew how the dialogue flowed and what was going to happen. I yelled to the screen. No! No don’t do this!  But the Radio.. came into play exactly as I had expected. Later on we get a recall to that scene and it made me feel even worse. I don’t worry that much about spoilers but this anime..was something so special as an experience to me.. at least for the first half of the series that I would not even want to spoil the series name now. The girl has a cute black hat and pink hair and the teacher has lavender hair and a dark purple dress .. and that is all I am willing to share about it. It might not have been the saddest scene.. but the scene I least wanted to happen.

I shared more than that in the past but it was in a different context. If I have to name anything by name.. I  could say Ushio’s death from Clannad but to be fair that didn’t do much for me. The death of a hero and the death of a loved one, in a certain very over the top mecha show I talk a lot about that made me cry a whole lot.  Then there is this story about a girl and her beloved dog.. and the plight of a father to bring the two closer together… that messed me up pretty much as well.Actual Spoiler Coming up!  Recently an episode of Slime I watched made me ball like a baby as well! The ending of Tengen Toppa left me feeling deeply saddend as well.

What was the best thing you have done for a friend?

That’s a bit relative. For one guy who is very dear to me I picked him up and helped him get up after his bride left him at the altar after ten years of being together. I spent any waking moment I could with him so he did not have to feel alone, even helped him get back in the saddle a bit by helping him ‘chase’. That is an energy I very much hate.. but I did it for him cause I wanted to see him happy.  Yet in the end that all seems to have been gone and forgotten now that he has a new relationship.

Another friend I took into my group of friends after his father passed away and introduced him to new people and helped him grow into the amazing fun person he is today. I helped him come out of his shell by having fun with him myself. I would classify the latter as maybe a lesser thing as it was only natural..but it had such a great impact.  Another friend I helped build up after she was mentally completely spent..she had nothing left.. I helped her rebuild her life but recently she told our friends she sees me as a huge failure because I am too sick to get a job currently..she was glad that even though she was a failure in life I was a bigger one.. I’d classify the effort I put in her to be amazing.. but it meant nothing to them.

Once I had a friend.. who was once a very popular kid! He was exiled because he broke his arm and could not play Soccer anymore.. we were very young like 10 or so. He even became suicidal. He was a former bully of mine.. but I offered him a friend in his time of need and desperation. He missed being popular though and even if we made good friends.. I knew he wasn’t happy. The rest of the class bullied me as well.. so I sacrificed our friendship to make him popular again.. the place where he was happiest.. among the jock kids. I told him where to bully me so it hurts. If he bullied me again.. saying he did it to win my trust just to crush my spirit they might think he is cool again..because I was really hated because I moved weird.
He did not want to do it at first.. but when he found out that he could not make it back to the soccer team because people did not want him there..he decided to go ahead.. he was very passionate about the sport but was to poor to travel to another town. I made sure he made me cry and break.. and it worked .. he was accepted back in the folds. He never really bullied me after that and even kept the other bullies away but we could not hang out anymore as on the record we on opposite sides. During a Reunion he came up to me and thanked me.. he even got a job in the soccer industry.. and getting back on that team was his first step.. and he had a very happy live.

What were your plans this year before the pandemic?

Hmmm some of the things I had planned are a tad on the personal side. Health wise some changes of plan had to be made, as some treatments I had scheduled both mentally and physically got postponed due to risks and rules etc. My plan to move away from where I live to a more open minded less racist place went south due to schools and jobs going in the fritz. I would also visit a few conventions but they poofed of course. Luckily I don’t really form expectations so I did not do the 2020 will be my year kinda stuff, not really .. so it’s not all that bad. It’s just very much not my year.. but I  that goes for everyone.. so at least I am not that disappointed. It is not like I planned to go to the Pokémon Café this year! I would have been utterly devasted if I missed that. Luckily I can still dream about Mew’s Fluffy Marshmallow Drink.

If you could pilot a mech or Gundam, which one would it be?

The Power Rangers Ninja Falcon Megazord combination with me flying the Pink crane I want the Falcon Zord combination so I can fire lots and lots of missles.. .. Thunder megazord with me flying the pink phoenix would be great as well. If you are in your regular Mecha show you are going to die! Also there are hardly any pink mecha’s out there! I am very big on mecha shows either.. only Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and heck if I want to pilot anything in that world! No sirree.  So since Power Rangers never die…except for one…and she was pink.. that seems like the safest mech to pilot! Also it comes with a cool pink suit! I could hang out in a juice bar, the job automatically comes with at least two friends.. but usually more, there is usualy something cute on my team as well and I get fireworks and get to take poses?! Heck yeah!

If you could marry an anime or video game character, who would it be?

Currently it would be Lohse from Divinity 2.. She is a perfect match of selfish but aware of the rest of the world. She has a hint of playfulness, but is also serious… Maybe a tad lusty.. for me.. but maybe she is a very cute and fairly mature woman which is a big plus..usually these days it’s all kids .. or like 3000 year old women looking like kids… I just don’t see that working mentally.  Lohse knows how to fight for herself and fights for a happy live of her own and she is willing to  let go of strangers for it.  I find it very important that my significant other has a will to live. She realises who she is ..and that she deserves happiness as well and doesnt just put everyone else above her! Self love is important. If Lohse loves herself I can love her.. and I know she will be with me because it makes her happy! She isn’t just setteling to make me happy! Lohinskie as a shipping name or maybe Pinshe?!

For similar reasons , Sayaka from Bloom into You  would be a great anime pick for me. I love how strong she is in the fact that she is actually gay. She is open with it and accepts it unlike most the other characters in the show who either blindly lust or are oblivious to feelings including their own.. She also seems like a person I could be with in terms of tranquility! Very high energy output people can really drain me.. and Sayawka walks that line very well for me. I could see us sitting on the couch watching a movie together. Or me playing a game and she leaning onto me with a book. Cute!  Sayakie sounds adorable as well.

Tell me about the last game you have played?

No! I review a lot of games I play so I would like to shoot myself in the foot with that!  I recently completed Divinity Original Sin 2, a review is probably coming next week!  I am currently playing Pokémon Rangers Shadows of Almia.. and I plan to finish it by next week or the week after.   Pokémon Rangers is a game where you draw circles around pokémon to befriend them and you solve little puzzles with them. I had to touch a bidoof, to make it tackle a crate for example or make friends with a Gastrodon.. which required me befriending a Nosepass  because it was trapped behind some rock and only Nosepass was strong enough to break that rock! Every time I do something ell my character takes a super sassy pose with a spin and a twirl. I have only just unlocked side quests so I am sure that this one might take a while. It’s a fun game so far but a girl can only draw so many circles before her hands get tired and she has to take a break.  You can also expect a review on Pokémon Sweet 2th.. the Sequel to Pokémon Sweet version I am not gonna tell you much more than that it left me a bit bitter. Darn it! I told so much already!

Is there a character out there that is most similar to you?

Weird as it may sound I really identify with Princess Unikitty from the Lego movie. She is a bit more extroverted than me but we are still pretty similar. Not so much her series counterpart but the one in a movie(s) specifically. Someone who really tries not to confirm her own and constantly goes around with a smile, sometimes sincere sometimes fake.. but the theme of being your own person is something I very much see in her.. we also share the cutesiness coat.. and once we get angry we turn into an all consuming all destructive force. You would not like me when I am angry.

Last book you have read?

Oof that has been a hot minute the last book I held was around the world in 80 dishes. A cookbook! But I used that to toss it at a wasp I had just trapped with hairspray! I was so scared of it! It’s dead now though. The last book I read I think was called Corona .. ..how oddly applicable in this day and age. It’s about some group of science people that are in africa and get themselves trapped in another dimension to the sun teleporting them there and it’s a place of evil apes and stuff. It was not a very good book but it came on the tail-end of my reading fatigue.. everything felt very samsey..mostly because I really prefer the “Dan Brown” Mystery genre.

I tried to branch out into fantasy but that was hit and miss and since it’s all series it’s also super expensive,  and movie like books like Corona that was like Congo with more supernatural elements. I also read a book around the same time called the stonehenge mysteries.. which is like Dan Brown books based on a cult and Stonehenge.. the dutch translation though sucks sooo much.  The original is written in very formal english  Very expensive looking words.. translated in dutch though no one speaks like this.. it feels like it has been translated and then passed through a thesaurus.. like the wedding speech  Joey wrote for Chandlier and Monica in friends… it put me off books and I have never been back! I wonder what happened to the book about the monkeys in the fire dimension though cause I can’t find it!
