Top 5: Pokémon Battle Themes

Being short on time and ill prepared, I would not want to leave you island guests without content. So let’s have fun with something nice and easy that is close to my heart. Pokémon stuff! I saw a bad horror movie yesterday as well, but since I want to blog about love now, rather than burning a movie to the ground I rather praise the franchise I so adore. Since I do not have a lot of time to photoshop I protected me from myself and picked a blogging topic that did not need images. MUSICA! So here are my five favorite battle themes from the games and series.

Battle Theme Number 5 : Blue’s Champion Theme (Pokémon Origins Version)

Now I could easily place this one right on top of my list for nostalgia reasons and use the original version but that would be a bit lame. While the original rendition is in my eyes till the best game rendition this anime version is truly the perfect symbolism to how it matured over time.  Those beginning notes almost sound like an alarm going off, warning you that you are about to battle the toughest battle of your life. As a child this was…sorta true. Blue was a tough battle but I never found him that threatening.

Something in the way he is build up. You beat him over and over again so if you fight him at the end, he doesn’t really feel like a champion. If we compare that to for example a Cynthia or Leon who have been build up as super strong trainers, this fight does not feel THAT special to me.  Had we not just encountered Blue outside victory road earlier I might feel differently, but all I could think was.. he could not have gotten THAT much stronger could he? When you battle Red at the end of Gold and Silver (and their remakes) he feels a lot more menacing. Blue’s theme was also used as the champion theme for Trace.. who even feels weaker so I just never felt situations where this dire when hearing this theme. Still it’s one of the very best.

Battle Theme Number 4: Zinnias’ Battle Theme (Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire)

One of my favorite pokémon titles of all time was Pokémon Omega Ruby, while other fans criticize it for being to samesies.. I was not allowed to get the original pokemon ruby and sapphire by my dad. He said Pokémon was for kids and I had outgrown it.. so I could only play that one as a illegal rom, and only if he was not watching. So in a way I never was at ease when playing the game. When I finally got to play it in peace and legal I felt so much more at ease.  The mysterious character Zinnia, that is new to these remakes had fascinated me from our first encounter. She strongly reminded me of a real life girl I was having strong feelings for. I had not been open and out as being into girls for to long, (after realising it took me a few years to dare to flirt or show interest in girls in fear of pushing them away and due to this fear I just ended up not realy feeling in love)

Zinnia is a young woman who lost her child Aster due to unknown reasons.  Being part of a dragon clan she travels the lands to try and prevent the world to end. Yet she goes about it in some dubious ways at times.  She is constantly followed by a helpless whismur that she called Aster, which you trough research can find out is the name of her lost infant. I respected the character and it was one of the first mature characters your character sort of gets a bond with.  Her theme has some darkness to it in it’s baseline while the main melody due to the accordion like themes sounds odd from which we can also read her scars. Zinnia got odd due to the pain of her loss, yet still is a brave fighter trying to do good. And this theme conveys that very well to me. Plus it’s the theme of the only pokémon character I ever crushed on.. so makes me look at it from rose tinted glasses. You could say that that is a bad thing but I would love to have pink glasses.

Battle Theme 3 : Ultra Necrozma Battle (Ultra Sun and Moon)

No matter how big of a Pokémon fan you are, no matter how much of a Negative Nancy or Positive Petra you are we can all agree one thing. Pokemon games are REALLY easy. We invent challenges for ourselves called Nuzlocke where a pokémon fainting equals it’s permadeath to make the dame more challenging. We hack the games to make them more challenging and even then we still manage to beat them. So imagine the surprise among the pokémon community when we first encountered this additional villian in Ultra Sun and Moon. When Necrozma absorbs Nebby (which is already pretty shocking)  we see the birth of one of the most.. and most likely even THE most challenging bossfight(s) in the entire series.

I saw so many Nuzlocke fail under the might of this extraordinary and creepy pokémon. A legendary that basicly mega evolves AND gets the totem boost is nothing to scoff at. It’s moveset has super effective counters for SO many pokémon. If he hits you super effectively, the pokémon is basically dead as if you do not power grind , knowing that it will come it will be of a lot higher level than you should be. Very few pokémon can resist it. It’s battle theme feels menacing and celestial, it feels like you are facing something bigger than that which you have ever faced and this in fact ..at least until you face Eternamax form Eternatus. I love the theme of the latter..but that one feels to much like a big hero’s reversal so there is not as much tension as in this doozy!

Battle theme 2: Gym Leader theme (Sword and Shield)

Now I am not one to say that new is always better and some 16 bit and 8 bit music is truly great Yet in Pokémon’s case I do feel that the classic themes are somewhat overplayed. We all know it and love it and that is great. Yet in recent times we have begun the cycle of nitpicks and are beginning to critique everything on nitpicks and instead of looking at why we love a franchise we look for reasons to drop it. Pokémon Sword and Shield does indeed have pokémon locked behind time gates (not behind paid dlc.. except for the new forms and new pokémon) sure, the game is shorter , but it made endgame more accessible than ever.I do not mind the people who give Game Freak honest feedback, I do mind the people trying to boycott the game for having a shorter campaign or for being so anti DLC they do not see it’s simply a product of the age we live in. I felt really sad that my beloved community had turned into Nat-Dexxers hating on the new game and SwooShers hating on Nat Dexxers. Can’t we just focus on what we like about pokémon and stay united. You do not have to buy a game you do not like nor do you have to dislike a game because others critique it.

I felt alone and I  was wondering if it became wrong to love pokémon still. I took my first steps in the world of Galar with some reluctance. Was it still okay to love pokémon?  This all changed as soon as I stepped into that first gym battle. I loved the cute gym puzzle, I loved how Galar made pokémon feel so much more real. Like an actual sport!  I loved the world building in Galar. That odd theme gave me an “as scene on tv” kind of feel. It was strange but good. Still okay just… until you knock out your opponents second to last pokémon. When we enter the final phase of the battle  the crowds in the stadiums begin to chant .. and it was amazing. For the first time it wasn’t just my character standing in that arena! I was there!
Then I saw youtubers really loving this song as well. Wherever I watched I saw them doing that same crowd as the chant.  Now when I ever doubt if it is wrong to love pokémon I hear all those youtubers and other video streams chant this song and I know that there is nothing wrong with me… and I want to battle some more! That is some powerful stuff!

Battle theme 1: Alolan Champion Theme (Pokémon Sun and Moon)

Pokémon Sun and Moon have some of my favorite music, my favorite city theme, my favorite pokémon professor theme, my favorite elite 4 theme and my favorite champion theme. That last one is so much greater than anything else. Not only does it walk a great balance of nostalgia as being its own track. It represents something that is unheard of and never been done in any pokémon game. When you face professor Kukui as your final challenge at the end of the elite four you would really think it is his theme. However is not. If you repeat this challenge, you can face various trainers and with all of them we see the same theme play out. Even if you fight Hau .. who has a very specific theme! How is this possible?  Then you realise it… as soon as you beat the Alola league the words that show us the truth appear on the screen “Congratulations, you are the first champion in the alola league’ This song is your theme.

Starting with the first notes, the first pokémon game began with, this song isn’t about your rivals determination.. or the high stakes in this match. It’s about your journey as a trainer.  Kicking of very tiny and swelling in intensity it has show how we have grown as trainers. With both intense and whimsical parts it encapsulates every aspect of being a trainer. Throughout the song we see a lot of classical elements of mostly pokémon main themes.
This is not just a song about your journey through Alola but your entire career as a pokémon trainer. In all the other regions there were champions before us and there will be after we have gone, but in Alola we became the first! We have become the very best.. like no one ever was.

Top 5: Galar Pokémon

Pokémon Sword and Shield has been out now for a while, but I needed quite a bit longer to finally complete my pokedex. Now that, that is done it is time to rank them. Which ones do I love the most. To keep the feelings of as many pokémon possible safe, we are only going to use pokémon (currently) exclusive to the Galar region, so tyrogue doesn’t have to worry how I feel about it or feel bad that it did not make the cut. That being said I love waaaaay more pokémon than just these five. Gen VIII did a great job in coming up with new pokémon. My method of selecting my favorites is not based on anything in particular, just my general love for them. One can enter the list because it’s adorable or because I really want to use it in competitive play all the same. So let’s get started with my number 5.

Number 5: Dracovish

Galar has THE best fossil pokémon in the entire series. Conceptually at the very least. Of course this not include lord helix, praise be to lord helix, father of all. Archeops had always been my favorite fossil pokémon and that had a very bad ability but now there is an amazing pokémon, with an even more amazing ability. Dracovish is such a derpy looking pokémon that endears me to it. It looks .. and basically is .. a fish head on a dragon’s body, and while it probably suffers just from existing.. man do I just want to give it a hug and yell out that wonderfully pun-like attack of his. First let me explain it’s existence a bit. Normally fossil resurrectors are respected scientists who revive your fossil with the respect it deserves. In Galar all fossils are in bad quality and have broken in half. The fossil scientist rather than letting you find two matching pieces to resurrect lets you  created 4 sets of mis matches from the dinosaur fossil, the dragon fossil, the bird fossil and the fish fossil. You can not combine two fish fossils, no sir.. you can only make a fish combo with the dinosaur and the dragon. if you choose the dragon and the fish…we get Dracovish.

On first glance he seems a bit mediocre with a 505 base stat jack of all trade. However he actually has a solid enough speed stat which makes him a viable target for a choice scarf. This makes Dracovish completely broken and OP. You see it gets the move Fishious Rend (I love that name) a Water Type bite attack that has an 85 base power that doubles if you strike first. Now a 170 base power move is already impressive for a physical attack but this little fishy also gets access to the ability Strong Jaw, which increases the the power of biting type moves by 50% .. this effect applies after doubling. So now the move is a crazy 255 base power. I think I have not mentioned yet that Dracovish is a Water-Dragon type yet. even though it might have seemed obvious. This means Dracovish gets the Same Type Attack Bonus on Fishious Rend increasing it with another 50% occuring after Strong Jaw. Meaning this move.. when outspeeding a pokémon is 380 (I think there is no 2 option) THis already makes it one of the strongest moves in the game..but it gets even better. In Galar setting the weather to rain is extremely easy due to Dynamax Water pokémon setting up on default, the wild area featuring a lot of rain and the fact that there is plenty of rain users. Inside the rain.. the power of water moves is increased by another 50% making the base-power of Dracovish in competitive a terrifying 570. The strongest move we ever saw in a pokémon game. Set your EV’s to attack and speed, equip it with a Sash and it can even oneshot plenty of pokémon that resist the attack. What can I say.. I really love when powerhouses look this derpy.

Number 4:  Wooloo

Luckily this pokémon needs a lot less explanation why I like it so much, it’s just cute as a button and I wish it was real. Wooloo has been done to death in memes, which is a sign that is generally well liked. While I am not the biggest fan of it’s evolution I really like how gamefreak made Wooloo such a staple of the Galar region. Up until the first gym, which is about two hours into the game they are everywhere. They play a big role in Galar and they are just too adorable to ignore. Wooloo are able to walk but their preferred method of traveling is rolling up as a fluffy ball and tumbling into objects they want out of their way or rolling around to their destination of choice. It is just so cute. To an extend  Hop (your main rival) even gets a bit of a story arc. We see it from being his beloved pokémon, to being outcast because Hop needs power, when Bede makes him lose his way. We see Wooloo being swapped of Hop’s team and feel the painful decision he had to make. As a pokémon player at one point or another you could make the choice between power and friendship with your pokemon.. and most of us will at least at one point have chosen power instead.

Wooloo is that one pokemon we all actually really love but still cast aside to have a better team. Luckily eventually Hop gets him back and will after that always use Dubwool (the evolution) as the first pokémon he sends out. (Protip..it rarely has non normal moves.. so when fighting Hop lead a set-up/buffing ghost and you will always win) showing he chose his love for pokemon over his desire to wield the strongest. This little arc made me so happy for that little pokémon that I loved it even more. I am currently in the process of Shiny Hunting a Wooloo, because it’s shiny looks amazing. Wooloo is great.
Grookey is Green, Sobble is Blue. Wooloo I love… Woolooloo and now you love it too!

Number 3 : Galarian Rapidash

I thought this would become my favorite pokémon ever when I saw Galarian Ponyta and while it really loved it, it did not resonate with me as much as it could have had. It’s face is just a bit to smug and it just isn’t as lovable as i would have wanted. That being said it’s still an amazing pokémon. It can learn such a wide moveset that it is completely customisable.  During my run I ran with a very unbalanced team, (lots of fairies, heavy poison weakness , few steel counters) but my Galarian Rapidash covered for that. It ran with a psychic type, ground type, electric type and dark type move. Covering all it’s own weaknesses plus electricity for fun. A solid physical attack that looks pretty and elegant and best of all is a unicorn! I mean I can tell you about it’s abilities , how it’s a great scout when you run it with anticipation, or how pastel veil which protects all your pokemon from poison, makes it great for double battle. Yet thats not why it is on my list. It is here because it is a unicorn. I could tell you that it can also run, fire, bug grass, fairy and normal moves and has plenty of set-up utility as well so it’s a very versatile to use pokémon. Yet it is on this list for no other reason than that it is a unicorn.  I could tell you about it’s pale white shiny which kind of makes it look like the pale horse, the horseman death rides upon at the time of the apocalypse. Yet .. unicorn. I could tell you that it’s a unicorn but …. oh.. I guess I am finished with this bit.

Truth be told Galarian Rapidash is something you either love or hate. It not a high tier pokemon for competitive but it’s a wonderfully customisable pokemon that you can truly make it  your own. I love this in a pokémon but at the same time Galarian Rapidash falls into that same trap hole all those others do. It doesn’t have a lot of flavoring on its own thus I will always end up really liking these kind of pokemon but they can never be my number one.  But hey it’s design goes a long way for me, I can have my rainbow unicorn.. and that rainbow also applies to it’s typings.

Number 2: Polteageist

Half of my team I used for the last chunk of the game , came from Glimwood Tangle. A mysterious fairy tale forest that holds some incredibly powerful and useful pokémon. Honourable mention goes to Hattrem and Hatterene who are incredibly powerful pokémon. Yet these two I will save for another post on Galar coming up in the near future. Another Glimwood Tangle pokemon I liked was Sinistea. A cute little teacup pokemon that can evolve into a teapot when you pour it’s tea into .. a teapot. When it evolves into said teapot it becomes my favorite ghost type ever and to boot my favorite teapot ever.  Polteageist is a beast of a pokémon very much suited for competitive play. I named my Polteageist Earl Grave…after the tea..but dead. I ran it with a simple said, Willow Wisp to cause burns and harm their physical damage , which Polteageist can be vulerable too. Shell Smash to boost my offensive and speed stats in trade for lowering my defence, Giga Drain for recovery and Shadow Ball for STAB raw attack power. However I did not realise Polteageist’s true potential yet.

You see if you take it to the move reminder it can learn the move Stored Power. A psychuc type move that upgrades for each stat boost you get.  Since this pokemon has the ability weak armor, which buff’s it speed but lowers it defence for each hit it takes, it is quite easy to buff out already. Shell Smash however raises 3 stats. So in a single turn you can already power this move up by A LOT. Willow Wisp helps it survive some hits, and give you even more boosts. It can sweep entire teams if you manage to swap it into a sleeping pokemon or just be a bt creative with t. While it doesn’t have the best shiny in the game, it does have a PINK shiny which makes shiny hunting well worth it ..for me at least. Wether you are a competitive battler o collector of cute pokémon, this mon definitely will be your cup of tea.

Number 1: Allcreamie

It isn’t that competitively it doesn’t have a vey wide moveset, it doesn’t even have a very nice shiny it doesn’t fit it’s theme very well. It’s also NOT a unicorn. Yet for reasons I can not  fully explain I adore this little whipped cream pokémon. I just love it’s design, it’s cry, it’s mannerisms it’s flavoring. My love for the pokémon started early when it was announced. A desert pokémon that is a fairy type that you can decorate and give a sort of custom look .. seemed quite amazing.  Since then my love only deepened. I encountered my Whippy.. my beloved Allcreamie on Route 4 near the first gym..still a Milcery back then. The cutest little cream pokémon. Reading up about it I immediately fell in love with it’s evolution method. You give it sweet to decorate it with.. then while it is dancing with joy, you spin around…to whip that blob of cream. Depending on how long you spin , when you spin , what direction you spin and more you can give it different types of flavors and colourings. It’s amazing, it’s fairly european, it’s cute and completely unique to allcreamie.

This most likely will also mean that this might be the only game it will be in, unless you transfer it. Galar is all about dramatic poses and the spin will allow your character to do that.. Jojo Style. If you can not spin in the next game… maybe we can not get 28 different varieties of Allcreamie.   I already fear this saying something about how much I like this pokemon. It has been my most trusty companion on my pokémon journey and has a nice enough moveset. If I could take any pokemon from the game and make it real, I would choose Whippy. I would choose it over wooloo or over my unicorn. When I choose a bowl of whipped cream over a unicorn or a floofy ball off love, that whipped Cream is something truly scrumptious, even if I can not fully explain why. I guess that’s just how love works sometimes.

My first day in Galar

Hello Island-guests. Today it is time for a new blog, and of course we will be talking about Pokémon. A diary of my characters journeys across Galar. This will mean some spoilers for the Sword and Shield games, although most of what is revealed in this first installment will be part of the common knowledge. It should come to no one’s surprise that I am really enjoying this game. The issues people have with these game either come from rushing or holding expectations based on different IP’s from different developers and I think both are unfair. Sure these games are not technical master pieces, but no pokemon game ever was. Sure the story mode CAN be resolved kind of quick, but that’s not even the point of playing a pokemon game. Yes not everything is in the game , some pokemon and some moves did not make it. People say that gotta catch em all is no longer applicable.. but it NEVER was , those others you just transfer from other games, this changes nothing of Galar’s collections aspect, we can start over again at an equal playing field. It only changes what pokemon we can use in competitive, and most of those who complain aren’t even in that scene. So quit nagging people and enjoy a really solid game the way it’s meant to be played. Slowly.

Pinkie’s journey begins

Dear Diary, today my pokemon journey began, it all started out like a normal day and I was watching Chairman Rose introduce us to the wonderful world of pokemon, he showed the cutest elephant pokemon and I want it!  Can you believe that in other regions the professors do this speech. The old hag Magnolia barely gave me any time of day! Her assistant is kinda cute though. I was watching someone challenge our champion Leon, who kinda has a weird sense of fashion. I wouldn’t call it bad.. but it kinda is. Like a cape and a weird hat and I could swear he is wearing pants under his shorts. I mean we girls wear leggings and it kinda looks like those, but why would a manly man like Leon wear them and why add a pattern to those leggings … I mean ewwwww.  He just doesn’t really look nice face down… he can pose though but hey I can pose too!

Anyway Hop came in.. I think he has ADD and went hyperactive that we had to go to his house to meet his brother. He ran ahead.. I swear he is like a combination of that Barry guy from the Sinnoh region that was like a rival to the hero of space and time and Hau .. the freeloading Malasada guzzling lovable goof who was like best friends with the first Champion of Alola. He kinda looks like a combination of those two too.
Gaaargh…..Leon wasn’t at his house and we had to go all the way to the next town to pick him up from the station and then run back. I do NOT like using my running shoes. In the end it was great though Leon gave us some starters so we could participate in the Gym challenges. Since Hop already had a Wooloo I could choose first I chose Sobble , because it cried when a berry fell in it’s pond. I decided to name it Neno. Hop picked a Scorbunny  and when we had to battle he already used two pokemon! Kinda unfair if you ask me…but his Wooloo went down so easily that my Sobble leveled up and allowed me to hit Scorbunny super effectively. Yay!

A mysterious encounter

After that a wooloo entered the forbidden forest and we had to go in and save it. Of course Hop  just ran ahead so I had to deal with a bunch of Skwovet, Squirrels with a weird name and tendency to eat my berries. I also encountered a bird named Rookidee, it looked angry so I had Neno knock them all out for me. Then I encountered a wolf in the mist. I thought it ate Wooloo and that it would kill me as I could not hit it at all.  It was very strong and super mysterious. So everything went white . Leon came and saved us as Hop did nothing but comment. Leon never saw what we saw and he told us to get our pokedex from Professor Magnolia.. and Hop ran off. I had to go the long way around and captured a few pokemon. Cool huh! I feel like I am the only person ever in existance in this world who can capture pokemon before getting this weird expositional talk while clearly everyone in this world knows how pokeballs work. I managed to catch a woolooi I named BeepBeep, one of those squirrels I named Nutella and even some others.  I only planned on using BeepBeep though, and I would take this little fox pokemon along. I decided to name it Barrelroll. I mostly like BeepBeep though.

So I tried to train up BeepBeep and I noticed how in the Galar region pokemon grow very differently from that in other regions, it turns out they have an item called EXP share, our pokemon do that naturally. But where the the item distrubutes a small portion of EXP our party gets like half the xp they would have gotten had they actively been in that battle. If they are in that battle they get full experience. This means we can easily bring full teams along from the earliest parts of the game and check out all sorts of cute evolutions.  The final Pokemon I caught in route one was called a Blipbug I named Freddt. I went home to kiss Mum, yes we call her Mum here in Galar and we also watch the Telly and not TV, and went to the old bags lab with Freddt in tow. Turns out she wasn’t even there! I had to move ANOTHER route. Like these shoes were not made for walking! So of course I had to shop first.

Shopping and Hopping

So I decided to go and shop and I picked some super cute pink clothes rather than the grey and green Mum picked for me.. I mean my name is pinkie after all , you gotta live up to the reputation. Shopping in Galar is quite expensive though so perhaps I should fight some trainers with Neno , Beepbeep and Freddt . So that’s what I did. While fighting other trainers I also managed to catch a snapping turtle which I send to my box early, and a cute dog named Yamper. Which I added to my squad under his new name of Buttermutt. It’s funny because it has a heart shaped bright yellow butt. It’s moves are super nice to capture new pokemon as well so as some plumber from some country just south of the Kalos Region just said “let’s go” .. ……. back to the shop to get my pink shoes and pink hat as well. All pinked up I was ready to move to Professors place. Doing some more battles along the way. I noticed how I enjoyed the music and the rich saturated colours in the landscape. Sure I have seen like cards from like the Hyrule region that looks a bit more beautiful, but I think we should be glad with the beautiful landscapes we have gotten. Compared to like Unova or Sinnoh this place is absolutely stunning and our pokemon also feel somewhat less stiff than those of Alolan ones.

Professor Magnolia gave me an app… for my phone… jeez… thanks I guess..  no way I could download a pokedex in the appstore myself in a world where everyone has pokemon?!  Yet something good came from the visit anyway. I got to battle Hop again, if we proved our worth as trainers to Leon he might endorse us to take part in the pokémon league competition. Like that’s kinda cool right?  How the strong look for young talent to find someone who will eventually surpass them and push their skill with pokemon to the next level. Like a metaphor how the pocket monsters we know and love can grow into Kaiju, so  can our trainers from young ones grow up to be a poorly dressed champion. Or like how the pokemon franchise started out as simply professor Oak’s research with him believing there were only 150 pokemon to knowing there is almost 1000 now. From being just his research to being like puns on teacups and with tv shows and movies. But I am getting off topic again. I could battle Hop again, I could see how much he train…..he ran over here again and barely bothered to train didn’t he….  yep… BeepBeep trashed his sheep, Neno washed his bunny and Freddt evolved into a Dottler. It’s like a bug night light with LEDS. Two meteors struck like a meter from our battle field revealing stones about the size of a wristwatch. I think the impact should have killed us all, but hey we didn’t so good for me.  So we spend the night at the old woman’s place and Sonia showed up and told us more about HER research or her work for the professor at least. She told us about dynamaxing and how the phenomena is only possible in the Galar region and more stuff. The professor just made Leon gave us our endorsements so now we had to go to Motostoke. Luckily we could go by train.  It will save me a big walk! Yay!

So far along I really enjoy this new pokémon adventure, the galarian pokemon are cute and overall well designed by Arceus, I visited some cute towns got some cute clothes and heard some cute music… though I am not sure if  that plays in my head or is actually there. No other trainer ever mentions it .. but it always changes when I battle. I really like the tracks so far. I like the new experience system because it makes pokemon battling available to so many of us and the story I embark on seem to have just a bit more invested in making me seem special and relevant, making it more credible that I am heading into some great adventures.  Of course the pretending to be me already made it a lot further into the game and but she decided that this was enough content for one day. So apparently soon the next part will follow where I explore the wild area and face the first three gyms. In that part we will discuss the quality of puzzles , and the wild area feature among other things so stay tuned for that… Wait why did i write this weird stuff in my diary?

Pokémon Sword and Shield: Hopes and Dreams

With just a week before the new game comes out, the entire pokédex leaked. Yet I refuse to know everything. So while I might wish for something that is announced or disproven I would like to ask you all to NOT tell me anything about the pokémon from the guidebook leak. I am really looking forward to this game and here is why!

The New Pokémon

There is nothing more magical than seeing an evolution happen that you have never seen before. That moment when your bug begins to shine white and you are like ‘Ooh goody goody, I wonder what it is going to be’ This is what made Pokémon Gold my favorite game in the series. The first game lacked that magic a bit because we all saw the anime before. Finding out about crobat in GEN II was something truly amazing. I took on a zubat because I figured it was part of the new dark typing, which it really wasn’t just a mistake I made as a kid.  Snubbull to Granbull felt odd underwhelming I remember still, but that I am not talking about the actual reveal but the moments just before . The moment a new silhouette or pokémon popped up.. or that moment that Snubbull began to evolve, those are magic! Your breath stops for just a moment, filling you with childlike excitement and as a pokémon fan, I can only compare it too walking down on christmas day and seeing those presents under the trees. Even if you know half of those presents are going to be socks to create some filling under the tree your heart jumps in excitement. Maybe that big package is gonna be for you… maybe it will go to your little sister again, it’s to exciting. A new pokémon game brings me back to that exact moment.. but I can have it like 60 times or so?! That’s a whole lot of christmas. Using new pokémon and seeing what makes them tick is also great. What sort of moves will Galarian Ponyta learn, how can I make use of Galarian Weezing his  ability and how can I make Allcremie work on my team. It’s like an exciting puzzle where I don’t know the answer yet and it makes me all giddy. I also feel so happy that I decided to not spoil myself anymore for my blogs sake.. it just makes me super excited to see it all.

The Story

I usually like the stories in the pokémon games, sure Red and Blue’s story wasn’t that special and even Gold and Silver did not had any epic storytelling, but with each new generation the stories become more complex, the villains become more fleshed out and the wonderful world of pokémon becomes more alive. While we got introduced to some characters and their impact on the story very little is known about what will happen.
Will chairman Rose really be evil like we all suspect? Will Eternatus, from the leaks really be a thing? There has been speculation about the blood, about Dynamaxing being evil. I really hope the story would not go in this direction as it would hinder my pleasure of using Dynamax in the end game. It seems REALLY unlikely  they would lock a new feature under the mention of it being evil, but it could make for an interesting plot. What I hope to see however is a nice twist. Chairman Rose being the big bad seems to easy. We all knew Aether was going to end up being ‘the actual’ bad guys long before we played it, I would like us all to be surprised this time. I do however like the concept of Eternatus, being an evil that comes from below, with the mining and factory themes of britain this could make for a very interesting antagonist monster. I would also like if we can see some homage to british folklore. Maybe a druidic place of power where a legendary dwells or even a lake that holds an unknown monster.  That would be definitely something I would love to sink my teeth into.
I strongly wish that Marnie isn’t going to be the big bad of generation, I really like her and would rather see her as an ally than someone whose life I have to ruin. Earlier leaks seem to suggest that she will be somewhat of a pragmatic heroine that will do her thing to fight the coming darkness, i’d happily take that and see her as a strong female  ally, by Arceus we need one. After the optional females, we didn’t ever really get a strong female. Of course Lilly grew up into one.. but she still started out as a damsel. So please make Marnie good!

End Game

Pokémon end-game content has always been either a complete hit or a complete miss. Rumors said we could go to Kalos in the end-game of Sword and Shield and while I would LOVE that to be true that seems like something that would be DLC in this day and age. In fact with Ash’s new anime series , I think we might get access to others regions as well. Of course not a full on region, but maybe a Wild Zone per region. Where we can do new Max-Raids and others stuff. I certainly would not mind getting DLC to a pokémon game. The more I can play the better. I do hope they really step it up from the Battle Tree, of Sun and Moon.. however Rainbow Rocket from Ultra Sun and Moon was great endgame content. So statistically  this might very well become a miss. I fear that we just get access to more raids endgame and can improve our camp and what not. What I would like to see is something like Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire Delta episode where we face one more threat to the world in a small narrative arc. If this can be in Kalos i’d be a happy camper but I am also quite content if would take place on the island of Galar. Using Dynamax in Kalos could be troubling, as their gyms aren’t  really calculated for these types of things so yeah I just don’t see us going there right now. Most of all though I hope to see some improvement of the stadium style battles. The Battle Tree, Battle Mansion , Battle Tower etc have always been plagued by the playing being forced to win rows and rows and rows of battles back to back. I would like  this series to be broken up into smaller challenges,Bronze one, pits you against four trainers and a gym leader, bronze two pits you against four stronger trainers and one of your rivals, bronze three .. would further increase the trainers and pit you against an elite four member and bronze final would let you face the cup holder.
While this is very similar to the system we already have I want the requirement to win 30 times in a row to be broken. After we did bronze 1 for singles we can either move to bronze 2 for singles or try bronze 1  of any other battle format. That way I might actually finish it.

Online

I hope people can leave the entire Dexit Tauros-poop  behind them and create a healthy community for the game, just because we do not like an element doesn’t mean we can boycott the entire game. Training up your pokémon for competitive standards seems to be easier than ever, no more hours of breeding, everyone can play. I would hope that the old scene is welcoming to the new players and helps us training and grow.  Yet.. it’s the internet. While I have played semi competitively on websites like Pokemon Showdown, the hassle to make them battle ready kept me from playing compo’s on handheld, but this time I will be ready. This time I can switch natures with mints, this time I can EV train more easily. This time I will be ready. So I really hope people who used to love this franchise can get their self entitled heads out of their posterior and just play the game.  From what I have seen a lot of love went into this one, a lot of care in making sure everyone can join to play together and against their friends and I do hope we can keep the Max-Raid battles clean. I do not want people to be salty because I run a gimmicky set, I don’t people to nag on making the run as clean and fast as possible so they can grind out more. Agatha of the Kanto elite four once said that a real pokémon trainer doesn’t show his strength by bringing the most powerful pokemon along, a true pokémon trainer shows they can win with their favorites.  I hope that people follow this lesson and allow other people to use their favorites as well, even if not optimal. So my strongest wish for this game is not even a wish to Nintendo or Game Freak.. it is a request to the gamer. The world of pokémon is changing, opening up to new people or old who are falling in love with the franchise all over again. Please accept this, be welcoming to those who want to share your world with you. That 30 seconds you spare on a single rate by banning that newbie guy because he doesn’t have the thunder T-M and has to use thunderbolt instead may cost HIM/HER/ or otherwise,  hours and hours of fun, because they are forced to give up on a game where no one allows them to learn. So dear Arceus please.. let Pokémon Sword and Shield get a healthy community! I still cry easy when people are mean to me!

A Blog Update

Hey everyone, as most of you have noticed I have been unable to turn out as much content as I want, reason is a myriad of technical and health problems. So while I try to put out as much content as I can , my schedule will be a bit more irregular for the coming weeks. Here’s what it is going on and what is going to happen.

Technical Difficulties

Those following my Twitter, or my latest to post.. and honestly no one saw the snakewood one, already know that my laptop has broken down, it’s screen finally gave up after years of service. Now I live in a 22m² apartment which means I do not have room for a desk, my laptop is on a coffee table next to my other coffee table. Now that I have to add a screen, that is a pretty big hassle. The screen has to be in front of it, which means all my cables are further down .. meaning my mouse and keyboard that are wired.. are incredibly short. Causing strain when I type to much. This makes blogging a much less pleasant experience for now. I have obtained a Macbook from a friend recently that i can borrow to play around with .. but weirdly enough that one also is suffering from many technical troubles. So a lot of my time is currently being eaten by finishing those games on the old laptop whose save files I most likely will not be manage to salvage. You know! Other times I am trying to sell some of my old items to make a bit of cash to get a new decentish laptop.  It’s my most important piece of furniture so .. let’s see what we can scrounge up by selling some old consoles and phones and stuff. All in all.. it’s a back salvage operation that just eats at my time and focus.

Health Issues

Besides being a bit unfortunate in the technical department my own build is also suffering from a few issues. Having some scarred lung-tissue from a bad pneumonia a few years ago the currently very fluctuating weather is costing me a LOT of energy. My muscle issue also leaving me quite cramped up due to the weirdness of the outside world. The blog itself when I post is also performing a bit less than I had hoped as I am not finding to many pokéfans which I originally hoped to find. This is causing me to re-evaluate if I should not change this blog’s concept a bit to a more general geek blog, with one or two days where I focus on Pokémon but also talk a lot more about geek life, and general geeky things. So if you do read this I really would like to ask you to answer the following reader question in my comments

Question to my Readers:

Would you like it if I talked about other stuff than just Pokémon? And become a more cutish geek blog thing?

The Future

What can you expect of me in the near future though? Well it will depend a bit on what people would like to see, do you think a content specific blog is more unique or do you think a bit more general subject would be a better way to go. I might just rebrand as I am also into a lot of other stuff besides pokémon that could make for some fine blogging experience.

Option A: We Stick to Pokémon

In this scenario I will most likely not change all that much, though when Pokémon Sword and Shield come out,  I will focus a lot of the content on this game of course. Professor Pinkie’s Pokédex will discuss topics from the Galar region, and Chibi Pinkie will keep a diary about her journey through the Galar region. Princess Pinkie will keep doing her Top 5’s and we will finish all the pokémon movies as well, while Pinkie Prime  will review the upcoming new Pokémon anime. Detective Pinkie will look for secrets in the Galar region and tell you about those. A lot of Sword and Shield content! Spending many many hours in the game and diving in deep. The Pokémon News will most likely be toned down as the mobile games do fascinate me a lot less. Reports on the currents leaks will also not happen, while I’ve looked at the starter evolution leaks I do want to be suprised a bit about the games still nor make all sorts of promises that don’t end up being in the game.

Option B: We Transform

While Pokémon will be an important part of the blog still , there will be other geeky stuff as well. We will most likely get a format that will look a bit like the following:

-Day 1 : Pokémon
-Day 2 : Anime
-Day 3: Games
-Day 4: Movies
-Day 5: My Personal Geeky things

The other two I would save for either some Pinkie-time or posting  something from the earlier 5 things if I really get into anything or if I really want to tell you something. I want to write because I love writing but I also want a sense of community and unfortunately I do feel the really deep pokémon community is just not that much into blogs but more into art and youtube and due to me having muscle issues, which can also affect my voice, I feel youtube would just be to much of a hassle for me to right.  Expect a bit of a restyle too if this happens of course. Maybe even a site relocation.. but that is something we will see in the future.

Question to my Readers:

Which of these options sound best to you!

I just really want to talk to you people make friends and find that spark…and due to some unfortunate circumstances that is a bit dim right now .. but do not worry either way I will be back full force before to long! So now it is up to you! What would you like to see of me! I really ask you to comment on this one! Like Goku once said.. Fellow Geeks and Pokémon fans! Give me your energy!

Pink-Poké-News: Week 41

So last week, we lost all contact with reporter Pinkie Cherryblossom. Luckily earlier this morning we picked her up at Shalour City. Kalos’s most prominent costal city. She seemed confused and was not able to recollect what she exactly saw near the end of her log. She kept rambling about a wise man, stolen food and wings. So we slapped her in the face, told her she had a job to do and give her take on the latest pokémon news. So please welcome back reporter Pinkie for this week’s edition of the Pink-Poké-News.

Galarian Ponyta

Hello again little monsters, Pinkie Cherryblossom here reporting live for Pink-Poké-News. I am incredibly excited to announce the existence of the Pokémon Shield only Pokémon , Galarian Ponyta. Apparently it was announced in a 24 hour live stream we unfortunately seem to have missed completely. A rainbow unicorn pokémon is exactly what I wanted all my life. However the fans seem to be confused to why it is not a fairy type. Galrian Ponyta has been announced to be the psychic type, and to be honest when you think rainbow unicorn (I actually dance each time I say that word)  sounds pretty much like a fairy to me to. So why is it a psychic type instead? Of course I asked the other Pinkies what they feel.

Professor Pinkie told it is a typing that goes a lot better alongside its ability Pastel Veil, an ability that prevents the poison status from occurring on your pokémon.. or even curing it of others when it is used next to a poisoned pokémon in double battles. Since fairy types have a weakness to poison this would already pose a conflict lorewise. Why would something weak to poison be able to heal poison. Secondly she says that it is most likely to add some speed to the rainbow unicorn. Psychic types are among the fastest pokémon in the game and given her theories about it’s evolution getting as much speed on it would seem like a great move. She was reluctant to say what she believes this evolution will be though.

Detective Pinkie however , whom is all about theories , did not share such sentiment. She agreed with the speed idea because she believes Galarian Rapidash will be a psychic flying type, apparently she has seen images of the live steam where the Ponyta’s look up so she believes it might reflect them looking up to their flying mother. Fairy types usually do have mediocre speed so for a speeding pegasus the psychic type makes most sense. Even more so if we look at the legend of Rhiannon. She is a figure in celtic mythology that is known for her intelligence and strategic sense and sharp mind.  She is a hero of sorts which was strongly linked to white horses and was even depicted flying a pegasus. She was linked to the horse goddess Epona (so now you know why a certain horse is called that way).  It could very well be that this myth stemming from Britain has directly influenced their pony designs.

Chibi Pinkie, our gamer feels that since Galarian Weezing already is a fighting type, as well as plenty of others being in the game now, it serves a balancing purpose. It’s  pokédex entry of absorbing mystical energies does work for both types. She also feels we might not officially see a Galarian Rapidash but believes Ponyta might evolve into something else. To make it more akin to Galarian Farfetch’D it’s mirror pokémon in Pokémon Sword.

The Wise Man

A new leak of Pokémon Sword and Shield recently surfaced. Using the icon of an indian shaman and the handle of Wiseman.  So it has been dubbed the Wiseman Leak. While not confirmed, the wise man uses a lot of information the so called Ben Affleck leak used as well. The Ben Affleck leak has so far been proven to be incredibly accurate and Wiseman seems to expand on this a bit. While easy enough to do recently Game-Informer had an interview with Game Freak which seem to bring credibility to this leak. A lot of the names mentioned seem to be extremely well thought off and in line with how Nintendo and Game Freak name their pokémon. So while not confirmed this leak belongs to the more credible ones. Then again, the Riddler leak looked promising as well and that has shown little as of late, it wasn’t really wrong but offered little info either.

The Indian guy  is very clear cut, little mystery here. He for example tells the people that the Coal Pokémon Rollycoly, the coal Pokémon, will have two evolution stages, in his first evolution it should evolve into a pokémon called Rollycosta, a minecart pokémon. Since Rollycosta is introduced to us in a mine and it’s first forms already have wheels this seems to be quite plausible. It fits theme very well and it is this reporters belief that would be a perfect inbetween stage to let it transform into a steam train pokemon. Strongly connected to the new ability steam engine that Rollycosta gets and very fitting of the theme.

The Wise Man also has his say about how the story will go. Especially when talking about Marnie. She is a somewhat reluctant Idol who has to keep her fans happy but has the actual goal to stop Eternatus and thus the power the power force of Gigantamaxing. Eternatus is the the name the Ben Affleck leak gave to the third legendary that is oposion Zamazenta and Zacian. It is said that is called ‘he who lives below’ and through its power Dynamax and Gigantamaxing has become possible, because it hopes to use this force to eradicate the world of technology and eventually even human life.  This could certainly be an interesting story and would make Max Raid battles quite believable, however it seems unlikely that a new battle mechanic would be disabled for the endgame so perhaps people will learn how to use it properly and if not this one might not get to fruition.

Other info he tells is that the character Oleana is like Plumeria , an evil Team Admin from Sun and Moon, but Rose (the Chairman of the pokémon league) who fans suspect to be evil is not like Guzma. It is unsure if he means Rose is not an evil guy or if he just eludes us by referring to personality.  The Wise man also told that Zacian and Zamazenta would both be Steel Fairy Types. Their abilities would allow them to Gigantamax for the entire battle rather than just three turns. The pseudo legendary is said to be a dragon ghost type based on the Ouroboros. The snake that eats its own tail.

Starter Evolutions

The most interesting thing that this leak contains however is the names and very general descriptions of the starter evolutions including their typings.
Scorbunny is said to evolve into Raboot and then into Haretrik while the Ben Affleck leak already named the first evolution Wiseman is the first to name the final form. He describes it as a very human like pokémon with a very animal like face. In the Game Freak interview they described the patch on Scorbunny’s face to be that of a deliquant. So I expect the pokémon to take on a Bancho like appearance.. I imagine it like a sort of rabbit version of Jotaru Kujo from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures (Stardust Crusaders version). It will remain pure fire type through its entire line but will learn a lot of fighting moves.

Grookey is said to evolve into Grunkey and then into Gorocka, the Affleck leak described the final evolution as a Gorilla with drums so this seems to match up very well.Interestingly enough is is said this line will be a Grass-Normal type line. Which seems like an odd choice at first but given that all sound based moves are almost all normal types it actually would make a whole lot of sense.

Sobble is said to evolve into Sizzile and then into Intelleon. Wiseman claims the pokémon to be a water-poison type which would make it the first starter ever that is both super effective against the fire, as the grass type. This does sound like somewhat of an odd choice, but hey after 8 generations we could use a change up.  The pokémon is be claimed to follow a spy theme, which makes a lot of sense to how the first trailer introduced Sobble to us. With a lot of camouflage and hiding skills, and let’s not forget the british theming when we talk about spies. The poison typing would fit nicely into such a theme as well. During the game freak interview they were very mysterious around sobble’s evolution evenly openly so , which could line up as well with the alleged theme.

While I am not very excited about the Scorbunny line the other two seem very interesting and very possible. The fact that we haven’t had a pure fire type in quite a while..(there hasn’t been any since gen 2) but water and grass had pure types in Gen 5 it would also feel appropriate)
Since the Affleck leak has yet to be flat out wrong on anything this might be what we are actually getting. Once again this is not confirmed yet so take everything with a healthy grain of salt. This is simply speculation right now that just so happens to match up with a lot of confirmed things so who knows.

About the blog

Now that we have been blogging for nearly four month , with an article each day it is time to analyse a bit. Currently we a follower count of 78 which about 30 individual followers visiting each day, sometimes a bit more sometimes a bit less. We of course still hope to expand the blog. We are growing at a nice and steady pace but given the length of our articles , it might not be possible to keep up 7 posts per week. So do not be afraid when soon we start missing a day at times, we are simply experimenting on how to optimise our little space here. Pokémon is a wonderful hobby to have and to share with the world. With plenty to tell. However I will need some time to play through pokemon  fan-games watch a bunch of movies and edit some pictures for my stories and all. I have a fairly active social life and I am beginning to notice stuff is moving a bit out of balance and I need to figure this out.

Expect to see some experimental content in the future say for example instead of an entire review I do episodic let’s plays ending with a review. Expect items to get cut if they aren’t getting me views etc. So to all those who follow me I’d like to ask help me improve the site by really showing me what content you like. If you want me to return to your favorite what if story, or talk about your favorite pokémon, give more play tips or whatever let me know so I can improve this place and let it grow. If you have tips, want to help out , want to request something or whatever you desire feel free to use our contact page to reach out.  I really want this place to be a unique voice in the pokémon world where both fans and non fans can discover something about the franchise. So if you have any ideas, don’t wait for the Pinkies to think up of them! Make a suggestion! Of course if you really like a certain type of content be sure to let me know in the comments or by liking a post so I can play the numbers game a bit better!

Thank you everyone for your ongoing support for this blog and I hope to bring you a lot of content in the days to come! Stay Pink and thanks for reading!

Pink-Poké-News: The 24 Hours In Glimwood-Tangle

Hey there little followers, welcome to another episode of Pink-Poké-News. From Friday 3pm till Saturday 3pm , Local Pinkie Time, a 24 hour live stream aired. Assistant Sonia had put a camera in the forest of Glimwood-Tangle and we send our reporter there to be present.  What has been discovered? Find out here! These are all the audio recordings she send us.

Friday 3pm till 4pm

Live from Glimwood Tangle, this is Pinkie Cherry Blossom reporting and I am a Mushroom! You can not see me because I am hidden behind some shrubbery but I am there. I can watch everything you watch. The light on the camera just came on! It has begun! Twentyfour hours of pokémon research.  I have taken a crate of red bull along.. but it’s hard to drink while in the mushroom. I hope everything will go alright… Oh.. what’s that.. A Pikachu is approaching the camera. It’s really cute! And that’s only the first five minutes I am sure this will be exciting!

Another five minutes in! Yes Morelull will be in the game! This little mushroom s so cute.. there are a lot.. one of em seems to be scraching it’s back against my mushroom… wait it’s not doing that it’s … …shooo! I am not in your egg group you vagrant!.

Ten more minutes in.. nothing happend for the past ten minutes. Yet I have an earpiece in.. directly connected to twitch chat…for some reason the chat has no moderates. There are so many dicks in chat… and I don’t mean the people! I mean pictures made with symbols and such…. so many!

It’s about half past three now Twitch chat is sick… why did they think leaving chat open was a good idea! Unmodded even! I threw up a bit… it made a pokémon run away.. all I saw was a mysterious tail. Wait… is that a Phantump I hear?!

Friday 4PM till 6PM

After hearing the Phantump there is no more news… it’s been nearly an hour since the phantump cry and we have yet to hear something new. Perhaps now is the time to tell you about a rumor that Pokémon Sword and Shield would have 18 gyms. This is untrue however. The game will feature 8 gyms like normal games. The confusion of this rumor stemmed from a translation error .. or impatient journalism.  What was said was that canonically there are 18 gyms in Galar. However the players will only visit eight. This may have interesting implications though! Could it be that the Elite four of Galar aren’t type specialists. Maybe this time the endgame really is a league! Possibilities!

It’s nearly five of clock right now! It was a phantump.. .. yay!  It just floated by!i love that pokémon! Wait.. does that mean a kid starved in this forest? It has too.. I mean..that’s how phantump are born. It’s actual in it’s pokedex. Perhaps I should eat a snack! I am pretty sure I saw a swirlix too! So that made me hungry for sweets.

Thirty minutes have passed since we spotted phantump.. I may have eaten most of my snacks already…whoops… but hey! Impidimp just cam strolling by. The Dark Fairy type that was shown during E3 finally got some love! It’s real and he won’t be scrapped at least! I am so happy! Three hoorays for Impidimp.

Another twenty minutes have passed I find it hard to keep fully invested….. but what is this!  A mysterious new pokémon ran bye! It galopped! I haven’t gotten a clear few… but… Aaaargh… it stole ,my snacks!

Friday 6PM till Midnight

Nothing new to report for well over an half hour, I am now snackless, and getting cranky. Speaking about cranky! Let’s rip on Pokémon go for another bit! They released yet another wave of useless stupid shadow pokémon. This time it’s Onix Steelix, Shuppet, Banette, Duskull ,Dusclops, Dusknoir, Sableye, Snorunt, Glalie, Snover, Abomasnow, Delibird and Stantler. Another 28 bag slots wasted if you want to have them all plus in their purified form. Better upgrade your bag size AGAIN.. cause this is what we will be doing now.  On the plus side of things P-Go released shiny Oddish. I love Vileplume (Bellossom not that much but mostly because it wastes what could have been another Vileplume) So this is my chance to catch a shiny Oddish and get my shiny Vileplume. Another six box spots gone though if you wish to own the shinies in both genders looks. At least the hunt for shinies with normal rates kinda feels exciting to me so yay for them on doing something nice as well.

I think it’s about seven pm for me right now.. I am not sure  cause I had one of those candy watches… I ate it… ! There appear to be a lot of Fairy Pokémon in Glimwood-Tangle as a Cottonee just floated by. It’s a cute pokémon but not very exciting. I love Whimsicott and I will definitely go catch it.. but it’s unlike I will actually run it on my team.

Two hour past since I saw Cottonee, I hear a lot of morelull and stuff like that…nothing new to report.. as a pokémon fan I am happy to see the morelull every now and again.. but as a reporter…I mostly feel sleepy.’Wait I just heard a Ponyta cry’.. this is an odd  for a fire horse! Will I die in a forest fire?

It has been an hour since I heard of the Ponyta.. no fire has come to consume me so I assume we are save. A Shiinotic is walking around.. this isn’t really a big reveal since it’s pre-evolution was already shown.. it is starting to look delicious though.

Events seem to be happening once every hour.. the mysterious pokemon made it’s return.. it looks like a horse.. but a Impidimp licked my glasses.. and then moved towards the camera. My view was obscured by slime… I suspect the viewers view was hindered by Impidimp himself.

Saturday Midnight to 8AM

Thats right can you see that timeleap there! …  In the timestamp thing above me right here! Do you have any idea how bored I am gonna be?! Well neither do I because this is supposed to be a live report.  Midnight has past and I saw a streak of the same pokémon.. it now is clear that this is the pokémon that this event is going to be all about. So many hints..

It has been somewhere between three and four hours since i last talked to the recording device… the horse pokémon tried to eat the camera. It could not possibly be as hungry as me as it at all my snacks… the things I would do for a  Mew’s Fluffy Marshmallow drink right now! I feel cold and alone! I wish I brought some of my plushies! Speaking of which to all my american and japanese readers or those who are creative enough! There has been a new line of plushies announced for the pokémon center stores.  These will be Scorbunny, Sobble and Grookey. .. Jeez I wonder which one i will get… spoiler.. non cause i can’t get them.. But i want a sobble! They all look pretty darn cute. And I wish I had some on me right now.
So cold….

It’s been well over four hours since I reported to you last… my life force was draining.. but I hear hooves clopping around. Oh my Arceus.. it is finally walking around at normal speed! It’s beautiful. It must be a Galarian Ponyta! It looks so much like the Kantonian one. It is really amazing. I wonder if it will keep showing up! This might become my new favorite Pokémon!

Saturday 8AM till 3 PM

I wish I could bring into words the vast amount of nothingness that has happened over the last  6 and a half hours of my life. There has been a lot of moreloll and even some more shiinotic action but that really is about it.  The blandness and fatigue is taking over my senses. I just wish one of the morelull came close so I could bite of it’s head and finally get some food. Yet I won’t.. it’s so sweet.  Speaking of sweet, Game Informer recently let us know via an interview they had with Game Freak that the latter has made a lot of back end changes in the game. Hidden parameters that people will understand once they see it. While they could not go into detail they basically said they had put systems into place to take your starter straight up into the competitive scene or will let you use old pokémon for sentimental reasons but allow you to make it better so you can battle with it.  This means creating competitive pokémon very well might become a whole lot easier! Nice!

It has been nearly 24 hours since the event started a little under two minutes left.  Two galarian ponyta came running down together they planned which each other. One did seem to lack a tail. When they hugged one’s fur glew all rainbowy .. the tailed one I think..it’s hard to see as their manes also fall over their butts at times. It seems like this is the ‘grand’ conclusion of this event. Nothing factual yet about ponyta but let me summarise. In twenty four hours we have seen the pokémon of Glimwood-Tangle and these Pokémon will be.
-Morelull & Shinotic
-Phantump
– Swirlix
– Cottonee
– Impidimp
– Galarian Ponyta.

With the exception of the latter we all knew this within the first four hours. That means I kinda wasted 20 hours and a lot of sleep! Yet it was worth it to see what very well might be my new favorite pokémon! What is that… oh no! Something just destroyed the camera… and now it’s coming for me! It looks beautiful… It’s coming after me! …. I’m so scared! Aaaaaargh!

Well we seem to have lost contact with our reporter at around Five minutes past 3pm. Hopefully we will learn more and if so we will keep you informed. This was Pink Poké News for now!

Question to my Readers

What do you think about Galarian Ponyta?

The Alola League Champion: Ash Ketchum

Jason Paige has gone silent,  disbelief, joy and an occasional tear.  It has been over twenty years but now it has finally happened….Ash Ketchum has won a Pokémon League. The never aging boy is the first champion of Alola. He is the very best.. like in Alola no one ever was.

The Big Trophy

Before episode 139 of Pokémon sun and Moon  was aired we already saw images of Ash holding a trophy being leaked.  People saw the colour and how it resembled a winners trophy of other leagues and began to speculate. Could they really spoil this, is this a hoax? Could Gladion be knocked down with Ash catching the trophy for him?  We were prepared for all sorts of scenario after the famous episode title change back in 2016. However since the Pokémon Sword and Shield anime series would just be called Pokémon and the way the narrator thanked Ash in episode 138 like this would be his last Hurrah people began to suspect that this very well may be it. Ash might hold the trophy he actually earned.

Now for those with a good memory , this is not the actual first time Ash has won a Pokémon League persé. There are those who claim he has won the Orange conference and while this may be true, that league is not officially recognised in anything else than the anime. In anime terms the Orange Island Arc was by all intents and purposes filler. Throughout the series it’s barely referenced nor did it really impact Ash as a person. He never felt like the very best.. because he really wasn’t . While still an impressive feat I like to compare it to any other tournament form.. while the Pokémon League can be considered nationals.. or even the world championships of pokémon the Orange League never was much more than winning at regionals. The small trophy he got reflected this, it never gave him much fulfillment anyway. So yes ladies and gentlemen this is the first thing Ash has won a majorly important one. Finally.

A Journey completed

After the completely unjustifiable loss at the Kalos League my hope for the anime dwindled and rightfully so. Sun and Moon as an anime could not keep up with the amazingness of X&Y. While the artstyle is something you can grow into it did feel like the ultimate insult to see Ash be reduce from someone imposing to someone that looks like he’s animated on a tight time and money budget someone that is truly young. Ash returning to trainer school made me drop the anime for quite a while. When they reached the rename part .. and I found out they turned Lusamine in the good and loving mother she was depicted as in the show I cringed a bit more. The show had really lost it’s magic for me. Ash had journeyed for too long. Yet in retrospect we saw a lot of closure from classic storylines in this series, in retrospect giving it a final quality. We saw Brock finally get a girlfriend, we saw Misty grow into a much more potent young trainer and more recently we saw lilly conquer her fears and see Gladion use his father’s Pokémon. Even season one’s Jigglypuff returned.. it finally sang it’s song from start to finish with Komala staying ‘awake’ through it all in the end seeing jigglypuff being knocked out and it’s face doodled at.. with it’s own little journey completed.

Team Rocket getting the short and of the stick once more (for now). With Ash now finally winning a tournament one could wonder is this season where the narrator will finally say.. the end? My hope goes out to a positive answer to this question. Though Sun and Moon finally made me drop the series for most of its runtime , I on occasion still followed the adventures of my main man but it began to feel thin. Like Bilbo Baggins once described ‘Like butter that has been spread out over too much bread.  We needed to see this yet at same time.. we are kinda done with Ash. One way or the other a journey has ended.

The Road ahead is empty

Now that we are getting close to seeing the Sword and Shield anime we can wonder what lies ahead. If they continue with current Ash not much. I wanted to see him become the champion and now that I did I can wholeheartedly say I am done with the character. Yet also for Ash himself there would not be that much more to achieve. One could make the argument that since the Alola league is the first of its kind it isn’t as official or prestigious as the indigo league or since Galar is a bit sports focussed that will be a more professional league so that there is still ways for Ash to grow. While I am willing to accept those ideas as somewhat valid it would remove any tension arc from the stories. For a new journey to be meaningful it would mean Ash HAS to win the more prestigious league as well or he will in fact move backwards. Which means that narratively speaking Ash is a dead end.

Letting him win in Galar is the only justified arc he could still go through but because it’s the only option it’s not really an aspect that needs to be explored. Ash as if might not have reached his zenith yet..which on it’s own is debatable but we now all know he will get there. THIS Ash is used up. There is no interesting story to tell with their side characters either, the only one who might have an arc still would be Serena and her arc really needs Ash to age to be completed. So it indeed would seem that the anime has nowhere to go. Like I said before though.. the new series will not carry a subtitle.. at least not in japan where it will just be called Pocket Monsters. In movie terms reusing the original titles usually means one thing and one thing alone. Reboot.

Who’s that Protagonist?

Now a reboot could be done in many ways. We could see Ash age to a grown up competing in the more professional Galar league after a few years of rest. Being mature now Ash could be involved in some themes he did not really have to deal with before. Romance could become a real thing of his journey but also his battle style would have to change to a more serious more clear cut and direct battler. While not the most compelling narrative option , i’d say this is their only option to keep current Ash and give him some room to develop. His championship could become secondary to his coming to age story. Yet going this route will be one of many pitfalls that would mean excluding some game features or even characters he can encounter. The game would have to be represented significantly less. With the job system though it could still work  to some extent.

The most popular protagonist theory however is an Ash Reset. we simply get a new Ash Ketchum, mostly likely one living in Galar starting his journey with a Pikachu much like old Ash did. Other reboot theories consist using the Ash from the “I choose you Pikachu movie” timeline. In this timeline he never traveled with Brock and Misty and Kanto already knew the Legendary Dogs and even Alolan Pokemon, so it’s almost like.. what if Ash was born 20 years later. While this could work I think it would result in a lot of people resisting, with all the hate Pokémon is getting for Sword and Shield already it seems like a very dumb choice to make. Though one that is quite marketable if they manage to pull it off. The anime has always been about Ash and Pikachu and if Detective Conan can stay fresh for decenia Ash should be able to do so too.  The community needs to keep an open mind for that though and I am not sure if this is the proper day and age for that. It’s so easy to hate.

So the best option would be to have a new protagonist. While rude mouth brittish avatar girl seems like a good pick I personally would really like if the story is focussed about on Marnie. Marnie is one of the rivals in the game and the one who is idolised by the evil team Yell. It could be very interesting to tell a narrative from a more edgy main character who combats her inner darkness and her desire to win rather than ignorance.  The way she would deal with her fans trying to give her unfair advantages would also be a very fresh narrative. Marnie could deal with the pressure of being seen as the best opposed to being a nobody everyone suddenly starts looking up too. Marnie has a less linear narrative, where Ash journey is just to overcome an obstacle Marnie’s journey would be one of black or white choices. Her fans count on her so will she push her Morpeko to claim victory despite the cost to her pokémon  or will she spare her pokémon but anger her fans and team Yell? It could push Pokémon as a series more into animé territory and less into serial cartoons. I would not mind potty mouth british avatar meme girl as a protagonist either if they make her a bit smarter than Ash.

Please Don’t

Now what do I really hope we won’t see? Two things.. a continuation of Ash as is will make me not even pick up the series at all his journey is complete, I am so done with him. The second one is a bit more sensitive.   The second character I would not like to see as a main character is Hop. Hop is the little brother of the pokémon league champion and your only rival of a different skin colour. Now I have no problem in creating more diversity in ethnicity in main characters , I love Miles Morales and the new Miss Marvel. Hop however would be to much like Ash. Their personalities would not differ enough. Had Hau been the protagonist of Sun and Moon after Ash won Kalos, i’d be be perfectly fine with it.. because Hau is more carefree than Ash he is extreme,  his carefree nature could be something he needs to work on in order to become a great. Hop however seems to have the Ash mentality.. he likes to win but he also seems a bit of an airhead with a good heart.

Miles Morales is very different from Peter Parker so regardless of heritage he adds something new. While I respect that for some people it is important to find more representation I am simply judging this from a narrative standpoint. Hop is an Ash Clone.. just like Trace from let’s go Eevee kinda is. Pokémon needs something new.. something fresh from a narrative stance. Hop would not offer that. I also would not want Serena to become the main character, her goals would have to be changed to much. Even though she is a fan favorite with a story still to complete  they would need a very strange narrative to shoehorn her in. Letting her compete to grow seems like something she would not do. The only fitting narrative I could find fitting if Ash goes missing and rumors say he went to Galar .. and she starts to compete to face him at the pokéleague.. but this would weigh the story down a lot.

With the Alola trophy in Ash hands  the future of the pokémon anime is insecure. This can be the fresh breath of air the series so desperately needs or the nail to the coffin for many viewers. Unlike Ash I still have some hopes and dreams and my biggest right now is a female protagonist.. or at least no Ash or Ash clone.

Question to my readers:

What would you like to see in the future of the Pokémon Anime?

So that concludes my feelings about Ash winning a pokémon league.. I am so happy it is finally over , but it can get worse for here as well. Once again in my choices I do not mean to upset anyone these are simply my views based on available assets  and looking to what I find lacking in the series and what would make it thrive and what would stagnate it.
Ash has died 9 times before becoming the pokémon league champion, I just hope that when he dies next time it’s not because using him again killed the franchise.

Data analysis: The Mysterious Glitched Reveal

Hello little Watsons!
On september 13th 2019 around seven o’clock in the morning standard Pinkie time, something strange happened to the pokémon sword and shield website. A glitched picture began to appear and began directing people towards a glitched new pokemon entry.  It’s name, height and large parts of it’s flavor texts have been redacted or glitched out. Today we analyse what this Pokémon is. For now we only know it’s a fighting type.

Evolution

First of all a thing we can deduce with certainty is that this pokémon is an evolution. After all it’s flavor text reads Only (Glitched) that have survived many battles can attain this (Glitched). When this Pokémon’s (Glitched) (Partially Gltched)ers, it will retire from combat.
The first line is pretty much a dead give away. Only (Pokémon name)  that have survived many battles can attain this evolution. After all it is a new pokédex entry so it must talk about the pokémon in question. While it could be a side form this does not make any sense. The pokémon website however does play the rotom sound if you click on this garbled mess of a picture.  This is why some people believe this is a form of Rotom.. here is why you are very wrong if you believe that idea. First and foremost is the fact that Rotom is a ghost electric type whose whole thing is to possess appliances. Therefore the quantity of battle would not make any sense unless it is some warlike tool like a tank. while one might see a cannon on the “head” of the glitch Game Freak was never allowed to to make Remoraid look like a gun, or make octillery look like a tank. In this day and age it will have only become worse.. therefore the pokedex entry makes no sense if it refers to any other appliances.  Secondly it’s color scheme does not match up at all when rotom possess an appliances it’s a orangish red appliance. The reveal is donned in earth colours. To fix this Rotom would have to get a Galarian Form.. which would be dumb as it will ruin an very interesting concept and force them to create at least just as many rotom forms.. or by penalty of the galar dex only keep the one, which fans will not like. This applies to basically everything with slide forms as well. So Rotom is out if we consider this from a positive stance. Of course Nintendo and Game Freak could drop the ball massively but with the Dexit hate.. they would have to be pretty stupid to hype a form reduction. With multiforms not really working out the only thing that makes sense for the flavor text is if the second glitched out text bit says evolution.

Eevee

People might wonder if it could possibly be an eeveelution as we are in an even numbered generation and that means new eeveelutions usually. And while  only Eevee who survived plenty of battles can achieve this evolution would indeed make for a new form of evolution such a mechanic would be much to frustrating.  Eevee that has to have been in a number of encounters before it evolves would make counting extremely tricky and impractical, making sure it will not faint for x amount battles would make it even harder. So the only way this new mechanic could be implemented would have to be a hard set level that if Eevee ever reaches that particular level it will ALWAYS evolve into ‘Puncheon’, which would lock away a normal type evolution forever. Adding a fighting type eevee would also be bad for balance, right now Sylveon is the best eeveelution in a meta sense. It doesnt have a weakness among any of the eevee’s and is super effective against the runner up in terms of strongest. Adding a fighting type to the line would only give Espeon and Sylveon more of a boost and they don’t really need that. At the reveal of camps near the end of August we saw  all known eeveelutions sitting together with no extra one , that seen seems to just be there to confirm we will not be getting a new eevee this time around or that it would have most likely have been used to spice up the camp reveal. So I am sorry but I do not think we’ll be getting a new eeveelution.

Galarian Form

Now let’s think like a detective for a moment and question the motives of posting a post in this way shall we? Why would you build up hype with a redacted name and redacted text? Let’s say I thought up the coolest new Pokémon named Pinkie, who evolves from the pokémon Pinku. If those pokémon are not know yet , there would not be reason to redact the names Pinkie and Pinku. The reason to blank these things is because the names would tell us to much information We can within reasonable doubt say that Game Freak and Nintendo would only choose for this method if they would reveal to much otherwise, a not known name is virtually the same as a glitch after all. So this is a pokémon we know by name at least and the Pokémon Company already mentioned there will be more cases like Obstagoon where a pokémon that could not evolve in its regular will evolve as a Galar form it’s easy enough to put two and two together. Now since it’s themed like a glitch Galarian Porygon would make sense.. but that one already evolves twice and already is way too good to get a fourth evolution anyway. An alternate evolution makes little sense as well because the pokémon’s height is redacted. Meaning the height could reveal the pokémon most likely, but it also means that when this pokémon reveals it keeps the exact same height as it’s previous form.. because it’s weight HAS been declared at around 116 kilograms. Since the name of the pokémon itself also has been redacted it must be a name that resembles the original too much. Naming conventions aren’t always like that.  For example had Lombre never gotten an evolution and they would announce Ludicolo , once more it would not be needed to redact the name, they are different enough people would not directly guess. A galarian form with an evolution that sounds very close to the origin pokémon.. a leaker has revealed such a names just after the starters got revealed or maybe even a bit before. The same leaker who told us it would take place in a british region.

Sirfetch’d

The Pokémon in question is Sirfetch’d the evolution of the slept upon but quite beloved farfetch’d. Now the long rod the pokemon hold does indeed seem to be coloured like a leak, while the  other green bit could be seen as a sword. We can see some avian shapes as a beak and such but this image gets even more convincing if we flip it 90 degrees.

Now we can arguably see a duck in armor holding a sword in one hand and a shield in the other. It is a knight… the same ones who bear the title Sir in England. The little skin that is shown within the armor matches the colour of farfetch’d and if we look closely we even see the three little blops of hair that farfetch’d iconically has. As is it quite literally looks just like a farfetch’d donned a suit of armor and got a vegetable shield.  Meaning it’s height would NOT have changed.. therefore Nintendo and Game freak would have to redact it from people not cross referencing it with Farfetch’d height. It’s weight has obviously changed now that is is wearing armour so there is no need to redact the tacts. Now remember that one of the redacted bits was only partially redacted. Using Sirfetch’d as an example we can complete an actual sentence. “Only Farfetch’D that have survived many battles can attain this evolution. When it’s leak (or whatever vegetable it’s shield will be made off)  withers it retires from combat. It is said that if a Farfetch’D loses it’s stick it immediately runs of to find another one as it can’t live without one (in a metaphorical way because they can eat it as emergency supplies) so it does all add up. What do you think little Watsons? I at least do not think I am wrong!

Reader Question:

What do you see in this image?

So with this new mystery and it’s possible solution comes a lot of new questions as well. Why is it a fighting type? It does make sense for a warrior in armor not to be able to fly so there is that. Alongside the idea it has to be a perfect warrior. While I do think I am right I do not claim to know all the answer but it’s certainly fun to speculate.

Pokémon Sword and Shield News: Camping in Style

Five september 2019 will be mostly remembered as the day Sans got into Smash. Although he wasn’t exactly a character he’s still there. Along with Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury it will be fun new faces to welcome to the smash family. Yet of course to this reporter and her other personalities that was not the most interesting announcement of the day. We got mesmerized by the new Pokémon Announcements and here’s what’s new.

Camping

Pokémon games are often filled with silly features you use once or twice in your playthroughs and on first glance.. camping might be one of them. Yet for those who played Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee  know there might be more to this than meets the eye. In Pokémon Sword and Shield we can put up our little tent in the Wild Area. The Wild Area quickly seems to become the hot spot for all Pokémon Sword and Shield features. Basically everything online that isn’t versus takes place here. Max Raids were already announcement and now there is camps.

In your camp you can play with your Pokémon and let them bond with your team. While fan reception so far seems a bit lackluster I truly believe that this is our new Pokémon Amie or Pokémon Grooming. Not everyone is a fan ot this, but the bonus experience a max affectionate pokémon provides as well as the ability to break free from status is well worth the effort on story playthrough. The way you can play with your Pokémon so far looks absolutely adorable. You’ll gain access to a few Pokémon toys they can interact with.. like one of those cat rod thinges.. not sure how to name it as cats hate me in real life so I avoid those playthings as in my hand it drives them mad.  There also is a bouncy ball you can toss and your pokémon will go and fetch it.

It’s absolutely and utterly adorable I melted as soon as I saw the trailer of Vileplume bring back the ball. Now I want to run it on my team .. and that’s already so full! I’ll need several teams already! Now I want a vileplume just so I can toss a ball towards it. I am already inspired to catch them all now, because I feel like there is something I can do with my less offensive pokémon.

I can check out their play animations, I can train up some support pokémon for raids and keep it fun to alternate. Now your own camp is not the only camp that is available for you in pokémon sword and shield.  While in the Wild Area you can encounter tents of others players and interact with them to access THEIR camp (as longs as you pay to be able to go online with your Switch) you can take along one pokémon to play with everyone you can find at the camp to all gain some benefits. You can even cook together, which brings us to the second announcement

Cooking

In order to gain more affection from your pokémon and quite possibly gain some stat boosts making food is going to be a requirement. There is only one type of food in the Galar region and thank ARCEUS it’s not malasada! In Galar we make curry, now let’s hope that Hop isn’t as big of a curry fanboy as Hau was of the malasda. Cooking happens in a minigame similar to making poffins like in generation 4. Controlling the fire and stirring the pot. You can do this alone or a bunch of friends, with the latter allowing for better ranked dishes.

However curry-crafting goes a lot further than just that. There are ample curry-dishes to make ..so much so that there even is a curry-dex for you to complete. From Sausage Curry to Fried Food Curry to Tofu Curry and beyond. You can use your berries to add the classic flavors like, dry , sweet , bitter and spicy and depending on what nature your pokémon have .. they will really like one and hate another so much like a long time ago, you’ll have to know your pokémon and its nature a bit if you want to optimise your synergy.

A great choice and alongside camping to me this feels like a much more natural way to farm your pokémon’s affection. It makes you feel much more like a traveller and good food is available to everyone. Magic balls of yarn and magic fruit trees or picture puzzles like in Kalos aren’t available to everyone. While you are deep inside a frosted cavern it feels weird that you could suddenly blowdry your eevee in Pokémon Sun and Moon. This is how it should be done and this is what I will feel happy about.. and I can look pretty darn good doing it.

Trainer Customisation

Yaaay we can go shopping again! When Gen VI revealed shopping for clothes had become a thing I nearly wet myself in excitement, finally I could make the trainer I wanted to make. Even though the options were fairly limited I had great fun into making a character feel like me. Alola and Gen VII improved this a bit for me… because i was a female trainer. As a boy in Alola you did not really have to splurge on vanity items. In this game though. Customisation looks very neat. In the past we could only play wearing a very natural hair colour.. which made NO sense at all given that there were SO many gym leaders with extreme hair colours. Now a lot more will be available to us.

We can finally feel like an anime character having access to shades of green, blue and…. *drumroll* pink! There is plenty of outfits that look cute and unique. In Alola you had three options with other skin variations from.. tank top with short skirt or hot pants to sundress. Here it seems you can dress both formal, casual , though or even hippie like. If there is a pink dress i’ll be one happy camper!

New to features is the ability to have some detailed make-up and you can epilate your eyebrows.  Neat! Your brand new look can feature on your customisable trainer card. This trainer card allows you to pose and add your backgrounds add cute little details etc.
This card will be displayed at your important matches (i’d reckon online as well) . Trainer cards can also be handed out and collected like it’s own little trading card game. If there actually is a trading card game remains to be seen but it’s cute nonetheless and your trainer has never felt more like your own character than is this game.

Two or maybe three new Pokemon.

Alright Gamefreak I’ll give you ONE more trailer to reveal my sweet little Impidimp!  Yet again the devilishly pink pokémon was not revealed in the new trailer but we got two pokémon announced by name .. and maybe one other .. but we are quite unsure about it. However let’s not cross that bridge until we get to it shall we?  The first pokémon that was announced was Polteageist, the black tea pokemon.

A cute little teapot embodied by a little ghosty boy. Only 20 centimeters high and weighing 400 grams this pokémon is a perfect ornament in your daily life. You can drink it’s tea, but drinking to much of it will give you a stomachache. They can mostly be found at hotels and castles and the likes where they are oftenly be treated as pests. If a Polteageist sees a teapot with some tea remains in them it can pour some of it’s essence into those remains and another of it’s kind wil be born in the new teapot. This leads to them being somewhat of a plague and pest in hotels and restaurants. It is a pure ghost type.. being only the 10th pokémon ever of that typing.  It’s ability is weak armor, when it is hit with a physical move it’s defence stat is lowered but it’s speed is boosted. A nice way to simulate a cracking teapot but with a lot of priority physical moves out there, the strongest being it’s greatest weakness it remains to be seem if this pokémon can make it in to competitive play. It would need to have some solid speed stat to be begin with and some creative moveset to get around sucker punch.

The second pokémon that has been announcement was Cramorant. This Pokémon was part of the big leak that has nearly predicted everything right so far. I love it!  I am a big fan of ducks and though this isn’t really a duck it sure is part of the duck family. It’s super blue!

Smurfs were less blue than this derpy looking boy. It brings back memories of psyduck for me which is good.. because I also loved that one. It’s a flying water type which isn’t particularly unique but with electric types not being ran THAT much in both the games as well as in versus it’s solid enough of a typing to help you deal with a lot of obstacles on your way. Cramorant is described to a loyal but mostly hungry pokémon.. there seem to be a lot of hungry pokémon in the Glar region.  It will eat just about anything it can fit.. or even cant fit in its beak. While it is a scatterbrain it is said never to forget the bond with it’s trainers but don’t you dare steal it’s food. The waterbird is said to even ferociously attack it’s own trainer if they steal or take away the pokemon’s food. It’s most interesting feature however is it’s special ability. Gulp Missile allows the pokemon to scoop up a fishy after it uses surf or dive.

This little creature remains in it’s mouth after. This is called its Gulping Form, unable to swallow it whole Cramorant tries to eat..until it’s hit in combat after which it spits the sea creature at it’s opponent like a little projectile. This could be really fun.. and given that it works on dive AND surf it seems like Cramorant can work as both a physical or a special attacker. I am a fan of this duck-thing and I will find a shiny one!

Now this was all that was announced in the Nintendo direct. ‘But Pinke you told us there might be a third Pokémon’.  Well yes! Pokémon doesn’t really have much ‘classic’ animals in their ecosystems.. there’s hints some might be left.. but I do belief that little fishy is it’s own Pokémon. We saw pokémon eating other before. The toxapex evolution line preys on corsola so perhaps this little fishy can be the prey of my already beloved ducklike. Is Fishy an entirely new pokémon? Or could it perhaps be a Galarian Wishiwashi ? Due to how small it is I am inclined to say the latter, it would also make sense in a way as it’s a schooling Pokémon. It’s all speculation so it’s to early to tell.. but mark my words we will see more of Fishy in the future… lets just hope Impidimp goes first.

So we conclude the this post of  what is to come. Currently I am having some issues with my muscles which is vastly distracting from writing. This may result in a post or two missing near the weekend but I will try to be here and do my regular thing. Just as a precaution I would like to warn you all. Leave a comment or a like and make my day happier!

Until we read again! Hopefully sooner than later.
