Kuro’s Story Hour Presents: The Immortal Maiden teaser

Hello there, its Kuro the Bartender here. I have been working on this fine drink for quite some time and am gonna let you take a nice little sip before I fully finish this concoction. I do hope you enjoy this. This drink will make you feel like a shrine maiden who is stuck in a contract of a yokai.

The sound of sandals echoes through a foggy graveyard. A young woman in a Kuro Muji Tomesoda kimono is walking through the empty graveyard. Her zori slightly sinks into the damp earth. As she slowly moves through the eerily quiet graveyard, a gust of wind makes long dark brown hair flutter. On her left side of her hip is a black katana with a red ito and under that is a matching wakizashi. In her right hand is a large metal spiked club, slumped across her shoulder.

She freezes in her tracks as the earth below starts to tremble. A skeleton arm shoots out from the ground and grabs her right ankle. It yanks her violently down to the moist earth. Her club falls right beside her. Another skeleton arm shoots out from the earth and grabs her left arm. Their grip tightens as she tries to wiggle free. The ground rumbles more as hundreds of skeletons sprout out of the earth. They all straighten up and turn to the woman.

“Foolish Otome, you come here to my resting grounds with the murderous intent to slay me. Such foolishness. You didn’t think I, the Gashadokuro of war, would not feel hostility, your bloodlust, your insidious intentions. Such a foolish Otome. I am made from the bodies of the soldiers and civilians killed by war. Thousands have died, Otome. What is a human Otome even doing in this realm of Yokai?” A loud, deep voice echoes through the graveyard.

The ground violently shakes as a humongous skeleton arm bursts out from the ground. A monstrous skeleton lifts up from the ground. Bits of mud, grass, and bone fall from the Gashadokuro, who stands 25 meters tall.

The young woman stares up at the Gashadokuro. She winces as the two skeletons tighten their grip on her wrist and ankle. The Gashadokuro leans over towards the young woman.

“Such a foolish Otome, do you think that you can leave this place? Your foolishness has cost you your life. You shall become my food foolish Otome.” the Gashadokuro bellows.

The young woman grabs the wakizashi from her left side and draws it from the saya. She raises it up and chops down on her left wrist. She yells out in pain as the wakizashi only cuts halfway. Blood gushes from the deep cut from her wrist. The white bone peers through the crimson blood. She lifts up the blade again and quickly chops down, this time cleaving through her wrist. She cries out in pain as blood squirts of her severed wrist. She grits her teeth and rips her right leg from the grip of the skeleton. The skeleton’s bone fingers slice through her leg and blood runs down her leg. She struggles to get up and she sheathes the wakizashi. She bends over and picks up the metal spiked club. She swings aggressively and shatters the skeletons’ arms around her.

“Foolish Otome, you just cut off your own hand and are now bleeding profusely. You are truly a foolish Otome. Do you think that you could leave this place alive? You will most likely bleed out, but I will kill you before you. Tell me your name before I end your foolish life.” Gushadokuro said in a deep voice.

“My name is Chizuru Fukuhara. I will not try to leave nor will you kill me. I am here to kill you, Gashadokuro. You are my third prey.” she says in a calm voice.

Gashadokuro starts laughing, his bellowing voice booms throughout the graveyard. The hundreds of skeletons teeth start chattering as if they were laughing as well. Gashadokuro stops laughing and strikes his huge fist against the ground and quakes the entire graveyard. The skeletons stumble around from the quaking ground. Chizuru keeps her balance and stares up at Gashadokuro. The skeletons around her start falling apart and their bones start flowing towards the Gashadokuro. The bones float up and start combing into a set of Shogun armor.

Chizuru gulps and grips her spiked metal club. Blood continues to leak out of her severed wrist. Her pale face becomes more pale as she is bleeding out. She begins to slowly move forward towards Gashadokuro and takes in a deep breath. The Gashadokuro screams and stabs at Chizuru with it’s long pointy bone fingers. The long fingers rip through her stomach and lifts her up 10 meters and flings her down with tremendous force. Her intestines lay out of her body and blood gushes from the huge wounds in her stomach and back. She has trouble breathing, as blood is filling up her mouth. The Gashadokuro leans over her and stares at the dying maiden whose blood is pooling around her.

“Foolish Otome. You got yourself killed for nothing. You were not able to even hurt me you Foolish Otome. Why did you throw away your life like this? Who sent you to this realm of Yokai to kill me? It does not matter now. You are dying and now will become my food. Such a foolish Otome.”

The Gashadokuro reaches for her body to pick her up. All of the sudden Chizuru grabs the spiked metal club and strikes the Gashadokuro hand within a split second. It’s entire hand and even part of its arm shatters into pieces. Gashadokuro jumps back from shock and stares as Chizuru stands up slowly. Her intestines hanging out of her stomach starts to slide back inside her stomach. The wounds start to heal. Out of her severed wrist, spiders ascend down on a webs and crawl to her severed hand. They lift attach the webs to it and the webs connected to her wrist starts pulling the severed hand back to the wrist. The hand connects back to the wrist. She then takes in a deep breath and vomits out blood.

“How are you doing this Otome? How does a mortal human have the ability to heal like that and how did you have the strength to hurt me like this? What are you Otome!?”

Chizuru smiles and says, “I have killed Jorōgumo and Ōtakemaru. I have obtained the power of spiders and poison from Jorōgumo and the massive strength and weapon of Ōtakemaru. I am also immortal due to a curse from a yokai. She made a deal with me, Kill the thirteen head yokai of this realm and the ruler of Meido to claim back my soul so I can finally die and go with my beloved samurai.”

“How could you have killed Ōtakemaru? He is one of the most feared yokai in this realm. One of the Nihon san dai aku yokai. Who is this yokai that sent you to kill all of us? Answer me Otome.”

“Oh, I am no longer a foolish Otome? I can not tell you the name of the one who sent me but it does not matter anyway. I am going to kill you so you need not to worry about it.”

The Gashadokuro’s chest armor falls apart and turns to dust and repairs his arm and hand. The helmet then turns to dust and forms into a massive bone katana. It grits his teeth and takes a stance pointing the katana to Chizuru.

“You dare talk down to me Otome, such insolence. I can regenerate my body as well with all these skeletons. I will rip you limb from limb and get the name of the yokai that sent you to kill me then I will find a way to kill you.”

“You won’t be able to kill me, many yokai have tried, even I have tried. I am cursed to live forever until I kill everyone I was contracted to.”

“How unfortunate Otome, I will not give you my life so you can fulfill some kind of contract from a yokai. You shall be stopped.”

It raises its massive katana and strikes down at Chizuru with tremendous force and speed. The gust of wind blew her hair back and as it was about to make contact with her body, she quickly knocked back the blade with the club, causing it to severely chip the bone blade. She grimaces as the sheer force of the strike fractures her entire arm in multiple places. Part of her arm bone sticks out of the flesh, causing blood to spurt out of the wound. She quickly drops the club and pushes the bone back into the wound and it starts to heal. The Gashadokuro chuckles as it looks at the chipped blade.

“You may be strong Otome, but your feeble human body can not handle that power. Since you entertained me, I will allow you to leave. You would not be able to defeat me like that Otome. I also have numbers on my side.”

All around them, thousands of skeletons pop out from the ground. Many of them are holding katanas. Chizuru spins around and stares at all of them and gulps. The sea of skeletons all chatter their teeth, filling the entire graveyard with noise. She bends down and slowly picks up the club. She stands up points at the Gashadokuro with the club.

“I will not run away from this fight, I will end your life, the other head yokais lives, and then my own life. I will meet up with my beloved samurai in the afterlife. Nothing will stop me.” she says with a deathly serious tone.

“Such a foolishly brave Otome. KILL HER!”

The sea of skeletons swarm in on her. She takes in a deep breath. She bends her knees and crouches down.

“You are the foolish one Gashadokuro.” she says with a smile as the swarm closes in.

The New Pokémon Series

Recently we got new about the newest Pokémon series announced. Unfortunately we will not see Marnie as a protagonist or even one of the Galar people as companions yet the series will revolve around an interesting concept which could save it.

Ash is Back

Let’s first address the elephant in the room, the series opted for the safe route and decided to let Ash and Pikachu make their return. Something I expected but really rooted against. It remains unclear if we get a rebooted Ash or a continuation who once more left his pokémon behind. In the teaser that was revealed we hear him yelling he wants to be a pokémon master, which he kind of became already so softly I hope to see a rebooted version. The concept of the series however seems to make this unlikely. It seems more to become more akin to a legacy season. However looking at his design Ash looks younger once again. His eyes have become a lot brighter and bigger, his hair spikes upwards rather than horizontal, giving him a more playful and energetic look. He wears a vest that closely resembles his vest in season one, similar as how the title changed back to pokémon, without a subtitle. Similar to when he first began. The white sleeves of the vest are gone though.. instead it is sleeveless and he wears a white shirt underneath.. to produce a similar look still. His shoes also look look like an updated version of Gen I Ash. For some reason though they chose to replace his jeans with shorts. Which this reporter doesn’t find that fashionable. It makes him look like a Youngster. It’s weird because his buddy walks around in skinny jeans. His Rotom Dex will become more smartphone like.

Let’s Go

This time Ash will be accompanied by an androgynous boy named Go. Dark skinned, blue eyes with some bobby pins in his hair and somewhat feminine eyes he appears to be a fully original character. Whose design I find very agreeable. Having a cool demeanour around him he comes across as a confident young trainer of his own. Not something like the throwaway followers like Max or Bonnie and more passionate than Gym Leaders like Cillian or Clemmont. In fact by the looks of it it almost seems as if the series will focus slightly more on Go.

The teaser makes it look like it will be a two protagonist series, yet Go’s goal seems to be very central in the story. When he was a young boy Go met Mew and he wishes to find him again. Featured both on the poster and it being an adorable sound bite at the end of the short teaser, this search seems to be an extremely relevant aspect of the plot. More so than Ash potential gym challenge. Yes I am saying potential gym challenge because it may not even be about it at all. Could this be a series in which we pass the torch? Moving from Ash to Go? It would be very interesting and a very open ended way to handle Ash departure. Pleasing both his supporters as those who wish to see him retire. In the japanese version he will be voiced by Daiki Yamashita who is best know , at least recently, for his voice portayel of Deku from My Hero Academia The only thing I do not like about Go so far is giving him a Scorbunny as his partner pokémon. Making it seem like the best pick! Cleary that honour should go to Sobble!

Traveling across the lands

What makes this series potentially interesting is the concept. On the reveal poster we saw a globe featuring all the regions and they will all be visited in this anime. Kanto, Johto, Hoenn , Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos , Alola AND Galar. A trip across the world to find Mew. This is where a non rebooted Ash comes in. It would be a lot more rewarding to see everyone Ash has interacted with in those regions to react to his championship title and to reminisce , it would validate Ash alongside Go for this story. It would be nice to see May again, if we found out that Max has tragically died (I really hated him in the anime) it would even be nice to see Ash and Serena catch up that way.

Yet it would also make sense to let the rebooted Ash travel alongside Go.. picking up after Ash first saw Ho-Oh they could travel together to find the legendaries who influenced their lives so much. The concept has potential but makes it hard to be focussed around a gym challenge. Without a rebooted Ash this makes perfect sense though! He already is a champion so he would pursue other goals, with two protagonists it would also prevent us from having to look at a double gym battles should Go be into similar endeavours. It would make for an interesting show if we deal with other teams rather than getting stronger and stronger but instead focus on the more mysterious side of the pokémon world. Questing for other goals than a simple competition can lift the series much more into a exciting serial anime with less of the ‘filler’ content the other shows had. There definitely is potential in this one but a lot of dangers too.

A birthday gift

The new series will begin airing on the seventeenth of November. The day of my birthday. Now this series could be a lovely gift or something I trade in immediately it remains to be seen. I am getting a Sylveon rug for my birthday as well and I will gift myself the Pokémon Sword game of course, so it has a lot of great gifts to compete with. Sun and Moon got a lot of flack for its art style..but the fluidity it brought to animations was actually great, with the developments in style it looks a bit more crisp as well. While the main character might not appeal to me all that much anymore this would be the way to make him more appealing.

If the other regions however turn out to be filler in between Galar gym badges this show will be dropped faster than a bungee jumping Snorlax. Since I am a little social bug I might be quite busy around that day but reviews will be coming and they will be honest! The transition from Kalos to Alola was to much of a drop-off for me to fully follow the series. Yet this time we don’t see a badass Ash reverting back into a kid. This might be something I can get behind. Keep following me up until december at least to find out if this show is any good.

While I feel incredibly mixed about the idea, there is potential to build the show out in a new way, yet if they do not innovate this will turn out to a big dud. Data analysis: The Mysterious Glitched Reveal

Hello little Watsons!
On september 13th 2019 around seven o’clock in the morning standard Pinkie time, something strange happened to the pokémon sword and shield website. A glitched picture began to appear and began directing people towards a glitched new pokemon entry. It’s name, height and large parts of it’s flavor texts have been redacted or glitched out. Today we analyse what this Pokémon is. For now we only know it’s a fighting type.

Evolution

First of all a thing we can deduce with certainty is that this pokémon is an evolution. After all it’s flavor text reads Only (Glitched) that have survived many battles can attain this (Glitched). When this Pokémon’s (Glitched) (Partially Gltched)ers, it will retire from combat.
The first line is pretty much a dead give away. Only (Pokémon name) that have survived many battles can attain this evolution. After all it is a new pokédex entry so it must talk about the pokémon in question. While it could be a side form this does not make any sense. The pokémon website however does play the rotom sound if you click on this garbled mess of a picture. This is why some people believe this is a form of Rotom.. here is why you are very wrong if you believe that idea. First and foremost is the fact that Rotom is a ghost electric type whose whole thing is to possess appliances. Therefore the quantity of battle would not make any sense unless it is some warlike tool like a tank. while one might see a cannon on the “head” of the glitch Game Freak was never allowed to to make Remoraid look like a gun, or make octillery look like a tank. In this day and age it will have only become worse.. therefore the pokedex entry makes no sense if it refers to any other appliances. Secondly it’s color scheme does not match up at all when rotom possess an appliances it’s a orangish red appliance. The reveal is donned in earth colours. To fix this Rotom would have to get a Galarian Form.. which would be dumb as it will ruin an very interesting concept and force them to create at least just as many rotom forms.. or by penalty of the galar dex only keep the one, which fans will not like. This applies to basically everything with slide forms as well. So Rotom is out if we consider this from a positive stance. Of course Nintendo and Game Freak could drop the ball massively but with the Dexit hate.. they would have to be pretty stupid to hype a form reduction. With multiforms not really working out the only thing that makes sense for the flavor text is if the second glitched out text bit says evolution.

Eevee

People might wonder if it could possibly be an eeveelution as we are in an even numbered generation and that means new eeveelutions usually. And while only Eevee who survived plenty of battles can achieve this evolution would indeed make for a new form of evolution such a mechanic would be much to frustrating. Eevee that has to have been in a number of encounters before it evolves would make counting extremely tricky and impractical, making sure it will not faint for x amount battles would make it even harder. So the only way this new mechanic could be implemented would have to be a hard set level that if Eevee ever reaches that particular level it will ALWAYS evolve into ‘Puncheon’, which would lock away a normal type evolution forever. Adding a fighting type eevee would also be bad for balance, right now Sylveon is the best eeveelution in a meta sense. It doesnt have a weakness among any of the eevee’s and is super effective against the runner up in terms of strongest. Adding a fighting type to the line would only give Espeon and Sylveon more of a boost and they don’t really need that. At the reveal of camps near the end of August we saw all known eeveelutions sitting together with no extra one , that seen seems to just be there to confirm we will not be getting a new eevee this time around or that it would have most likely have been used to spice up the camp reveal. So I am sorry but I do not think we’ll be getting a new eeveelution.

Galarian Form

Now let’s think like a detective for a moment and question the motives of posting a post in this way shall we? Why would you build up hype with a redacted name and redacted text? Let’s say I thought up the coolest new Pokémon named Pinkie, who evolves from the pokémon Pinku. If those pokémon are not know yet , there would not be reason to redact the names Pinkie and Pinku. The reason to blank these things is because the names would tell us to much information We can within reasonable doubt say that Game Freak and Nintendo would only choose for this method if they would reveal to much otherwise, a not known name is virtually the same as a glitch after all. So this is a pokémon we know by name at least and the Pokémon Company already mentioned there will be more cases like Obstagoon where a pokémon that could not evolve in its regular will evolve as a Galar form it’s easy enough to put two and two together.Now since it’s themed like a glitch Galarian Porygon would make sense.. but that one already evolves twice and already is way too good to get a fourth evolution anyway. An alternate evolution makes little sense as well because the pokémon’s height is redacted. Meaning the height could reveal the pokémon most likely, but it also means that when this pokémon reveals it keeps the exact same height as it’s previous form.. because it’s weight HAS been declared at around 116 kilograms. Since the name of the pokémon itself also has been redacted it must be a name that resembles the original too much. Naming conventions aren’t always like that. For example had Lombre never gotten an evolution and they would announce Ludicolo , once more it would not be needed to redact the name, they are different enough people would not directly guess. A galarian form with an evolution that sounds very close to the origin pokémon.. a leaker has revealed such a names just after the starters got revealed or maybe even a bit before. The same leaker who told us it would take place in a british region.

Sirfetch’d

The Pokémon in question is Sirfetch’d the evolution of the slept upon but quite beloved farfetch’d. Now the long rod the pokemon hold does indeed seem to be coloured like a leak, while the other green bit could be seen as a sword. We can see some avian shapes as a beak and such but this image gets even more convincing if we flip it 90 degrees.

Now we can arguably see a duck in armor holding a sword in one hand and a shield in the other. It is a knight… the same ones who bear the title Sir in England. The little skin that is shown within the armor matches the colour of farfetch’d and if we look closely we even see the three little blops of hair that farfetch’d iconically has. As is it quite literally looks just like a farfetch’d donned a suit of armor and got a vegetable shield. Meaning it’s height would NOT have changed.. therefore Nintendo and Game freak would have to redact it from people not cross referencing it with Farfetch’d height. It’s weight has obviously changed now that is is wearing armour so there is no need to redact the tacts. Now remember that one of the redacted bits was only partially redacted. Using Sirfetch’d as an example we can complete an actual sentence. “Only Farfetch’D that have survived many battles can attain this evolution. When it’s leak (or whatever vegetable it’s shield will be made off) withers it retires from combat. It is said that if a Farfetch’D loses it’s stick it immediately runs of to find another one as it can’t live without one (in a metaphorical way because they can eat it as emergency supplies) so it does all add up. What do you think little Watsons? I at least do not think I am wrong!

So with this new mystery and it’s possible solution comes a lot of new questions as well. Why is it a fighting type? It does make sense for a warrior in armor not to be able to fly so there is that. Alongside the idea it has to be a perfect warrior. While I do think I am right I do not claim to know all the answer but it’s certainly fun to speculate.
