Cowboys, Giant Robots and a Pink Dame! Pinkie plays Wild Guns

Hear Ye Hear Ye  Princess Pinkie has returned with a new gaming post!

Salutations my loyal subjects and island guests. As you might know I love retro games and especially the SNES era of gaming.   I have done a fair few reviews in the past! Recently with Covid rules becoming a bit more lentient I have been meeting with a friend to play some cool SNES Co-Op titles using my Nintendo Switch Online subscription.  Today I will talk to you about a game we recently beat! A game that is about shouting cowboys and giant robots. Steampunk meets Cyberpunk in the SNES cult classic. Wild Guns!

Clint and Annie’s date at the Saloon

Wild Guns - Wikipedia

Wild Guns was one of those SNES titles that saw a very diverse release date. Released in Japan in August 1994, the US in  July 1995 and finally in Europe due October 30 1996 Wild Arms is a classic game in the very obscure shooting gallery genre.  While the game has an incredibly arcade feel Natsume developed and published it exclusively for SNES. It would not be until 2016 and later that a “remaster” was released on anything else but a Nintendo platform. But nowadays a four player variant of this game with new characters and new stages is also available for pc and playstation 4. Of course the updated version is also available on Nintendo Switch. Wild Guns Reloaded is available on steam for around 13 euro. While I would love to play as a dog on a drone (which is an reloaded exclusive character)  I will talk about  the  base game.. because if you pay for Nintendo Switch online it’s free!

I have no idea what the story is of this game! I don’t remember if I skipped it or if I needed a manual to read it .. but   in the base game you play Clint .. a gruff classical looking cowboy or Annie a blonde in a pink dress and a fancy hat! Guess which one I insisted on being!   Each character comes with four colour variations which also change your crosshair. I played better as Blue Annie then Pink Annie because  I lost track of my crosshair less! White Annie I found unplayable.. but that might just be me!  The game has  6  stages of which the majority consists of 3 parts.  In the end you have to defeat.. some chinese/japanese looking guy. The stages and subsections are pretty varied and most enemies are unique to each stage.. though the classic SNES colour variants show up. The game features 3 difficulties and a versus mode, so there is some replayability.

SNES Longplay [243] Wild Guns (a) - YouTube

My friend and me started at the normal difficulty, which had Clint and Annie already die quite a bit. The first stage is themed after a saloon. With the first part being a shootout against cowboys outside the saloon with enemies shooting at your from windows or behind barrels. It was pretty neat and the cowboy vibe clearly can be felt.  The way this game work  is basically as follows. The first two subsections of a stage you fight against a clock, you have to survive against an onslaught of enemies until the timer runs out after which you face a mini boss.  If you score enough points you can earn more lives , better weapons and screen wiping bombs to make the rest of the stage easier, so you always have to balance how much risk you take killing people versus. Risking how much you want to upgrade versus how much you want to live. Which is easier said then done.. because this game comes at you , guns blazing.

After you have survived against your first wave of cowboys you have to face a giant robot cowboy with machine gun arms which  tries to mow you down remorseley. Luckily Clint and Annie have some sort of spider sense and they will tell the player to watch out and make them dodge when projectiles fly their way. In their jump they are also near invisible. If you listen to your character you have a good chance to survive , and with a bit of learning you can take down this first mini boss pretty easily. Clint and Annie beat this stage after only one game over. The second bout of this stage takes place inside the saloon!  This one is already a bit more tricky, not only do bullets fly your way, there is also dynamite to deal with.   Which limits in what directions you can block.  Jumping into an explosion will end up getting you killed and if you do not kill enemies quickly they will keep piling up turning the game into a true bullet hell.

Wild Guns: Reloaded adds an adorable dog who controls a machine-gun drone to its chaotic roster | TechnoBuffalo

It took us two attempts.. but when we found out we can use a Lasso to stun dynamite throwers, while the other would gun them down  we cleaned out the saloon and took down the wimpy Miniboss.  The final area of this stage put us on the roof of the Saloon where we take down a Mecha equipped with a missile system that rains death from above.. and gatling guns that sweep half the screen.  Playing smart we saved up a lot of our bombs which made short work of the boss. Clint and Annie finish their date at the saloon after dying only like 40 times (21 times Annie and 19 times Clint) ! Hey I have been on worse dates!

Crazy Cowboys

Amazon.com: Wild Guns - Nintendo Super NES: Video Games

After this the game lets you pick one of four stages,  A goldmine, a train,  a canyon and an arms depot.  Each stage pits you against a crazy mix of cowboys and robots.  Each stage gives you a point total which you can see as bounty for taking down the boss. Not every stage has the same bounty and of course the stages with the higher bounty offer higher difficulty! Yet bounties also go up if you beat a stage, so if you are interested in score there are some tactics to have fun with… for me bullet riddled Annie, we just decided to play the stages from high to low! Only to give on medium difficulty after 4 attempts of desolation canyon. We really wanted to beat the game and play through it and despite having unlimited continues that keep track of which stages you beat, having to do all three subsections of a stage on 3 life each.  Now Normal is a doable difficulty but we did not have enough practice time.. and due to the world state we can’t play this as often as we would like.. so we would just try easy mode, hoping the game would not insult us at the end.

It gave us a perfect insight at what difficulty would do. The higher the difficulty the higher the health pool of enemies is  and thus how smaller your window to dodge becomes. This will also result in you having more enemies on screen to deal with at the same time, as you can’t kill everyone quick enough to keep your screen rather clear.  The higher the difficulty the more likely enemies are to use their special abilities, like drones throwing their own lasso or one of those deaths from above missile barrages. All in all easy was a lot more manageable, though still not  very easy. There is a lot on the screen to manage. Powerups, your dodge notifications, enemy placement, the placement of your crosshair and the missiles falling from the sky , powerups and ground traps.  Funnily I discovered that me and my friend struggled with different things. He kept getting hit by traps and missiles while I failed to see a notification of a bullet.  Which helped us get a flow where we warned each other of one of those.

Voyeurism – Wild Guns | Games and Junk

The single player mode of this game as such is a bit tricky, there is so much happening I am convinced you will always have a weakness and there is no one to polish it out, and it is not as fun either. The action is a bit repetitive, even though all stages offer a pretty diversive, way of approaching things. The mine has enemies as tiny dots in the distance, the  train has enemies zipping past and changing positions, the canyon has a lot of enemies that can stun! So each stage is different in how you approach it .. but it is all very samey in it’s pacing, which is  why you really need a friend for this.  Competing for the higher score is also a  lot more fun than getting a highscore in some random list.  The set high scores are super easy to beat.  We beat the game and already set the high score.. while we actually did pretty terrible.  So just beating high scores by yourself would not be fun at all! Maybe if you beat the game once or twice to beat your personal best.. but with how many games we have access to nowadays , no one will do that.  So it really is a game for two.

This also helps with the game’s biggest appeal. Finding out what craziness is next. The enemies are really crazy and most bosses are really fun!  There is one really boring flame tank thing but there are also some bizarre bosses that are super fun to learn and face.  The mid stage bosses are fairly fun as well, though unfortunately these are the ones that are reused the most. In a way there are some similarities with Cowboy Bebop ..but without the break. Think Bebop meet’s Gurren Lagann, while graphically reminding me a bit off Final Fight mixed with Metal Slug.  That feeling and craziness is also the biggest appeal. You don’t play this game for the challenge , you might not even play it to beat it every single time you play it for the fun, in a similar way why you play Pacman or Tetriis.  There is just something fundamentally fun about this game.

Wild Guns - Retro of the Week

That same appeal is unfortunately also it’s biggest downfall.  Because it has that arcade appeal it’s linear/level based setting makes it less repeatable than it’s competitors.  Where you can play a Pacman a bit every day, this you will put down for a fair while after you beat it. It feels more like a beat em up with guns. However where  Beat Em ups let you play another character that does really play differently as the other, here it doesn’t feel that way. Because you walk on a 2d plain instead of a 2.5d plan your actions are much more set and because enemies target you in specific ways , knowing how they will  react will get you past them each time. At least in Beat ‘m ups they will move slightly differently.  This makes Wild Guns a perfect game to beat once a year with a friend. I really like this game a lot but I also don’t want to play it again any time soon, maybe I want to get the reloaded version someday so I can play the dog on a drone trough the extra stages! Now  I just need to hope the Dog on a drone comes with a pink skin!

Wild Guns Reloaded no Steam

Did you ever play Wild Guns?! Do you have a favourite arcade like title? What character would you play? I have so many questions for you I might have to sleep on it! In the meantime you can already babble in the comments! Because remember, Friendship is Magic but Dreams are even more wonderful! Oyasumi.

We have a new smaller project on Kofi! Rather than try to get system upgrades we now save up for new content! If you want to sponsor that content click on the portrait below!

Crafting Bliss: Yoshi’s Crafted World

Sometimes a game looks so adorable and appealing we lose all sense of reason. Even with mediocre reviews across the board I opted to start playing Yoshi’s crafted world. Through the help of my Ko-Fi supports MikeKelly666 , LaughingReaper and whom I believe to be Iridium Eye..  we got to be able to purchase the game and finally play it. Was it worth it?

Scotch Tape

This question is not as simple to answer as it may seem. For after playing through the biggest part of this game I found all the negative aspects to be very true. This game forces you to go through each stage three to four times. More if you are unlucky and that all has to do with the format that it has chosen that I will admit is fairly poor. Like in most Yoshi games it’s all about collecting Daisy flowers. These work as an unlocking currency and as a completion criteria.  If you want to complete a stage, you are making several passes through that same stage and I will admit, the stages aren’t THAT interesting to justify that. The pacing feels impractical.. like as if you are walking across scotch tape .. your feet sticking making advancing way more difficult than it needs to be.

Ironically the low difficulty of this game kind of amplifies this flaw. There is not a lot of challenge in these stages. One of the main unlockables is a costume that can tank 2 to 4 hits for you depending on its rarity. While I all wore them for their cuteness I rarely broke the 2 hit costumes and I mostly damaged them from pits. If your costume breaks you still have about a 5 hit life bar left. So it is not hard to feel like this game is rather unengaging. It is to easy and 80% of the gameplay is set in replaying levels you have done and seen before. On my first encounter with the game.. I got fed up with this soon enough and burned out on it.. now I realise I have been playing this game wrong.

The Arts of Crafts

One can’t deny the visual appeal of this title. Just by looking at this game you cannot help but smile and feel cheered up even if things seem super dark. This game is so sweet, adorable and cutesy it might as well just be honey or maple syrup that was in the box. Or a hand full of sugar for that matter. This game is not meant to challenge you, nor to send you off on some epic journey… no this game was made to make you go SQUEEEE. It will reveal the weeaboos in the room as we all go Kawaii when the pink Yoshi decides to wear a coffee milk cup as armor or if the yellow yoshi puts  a coloured paper ribbon snail on his side. This game is not meant to be played like Super Mario Odyssey or Shovel Knight. This game is meant to help you relax and lose the frustration of those. It is a relaxy game… much  like the same role Animal Crossing has in gaming.. yet more casual and finite.

Eager as I was I started completing stages on my very first pass of them, acing all the rankings replaying them several times because a lot of collectables are missable.  I had so much money by the time I entered the fourth world I could instantly buy all their cute costumes. It only got worse… while I love how happy the world looks when you complete it.. this is not a game to bite into harshly.. no this is a game you play a stage or two for whenever you feel a bit blue. See the wholesome happy Yoshi world unfold in front of your very eyes.  Which is reflected in the way stages are designed. Everything is so detailed. Everything is craftable. With the write items you could make these stages yourself in real life.. minus the enemies and the sentient felt-like yoshi’s themselves of course.. but you can build their world. Which is amazing, everything more or less feels like it actually works, from the way some pathways unroll to hiding secrets behind background elements because they COULD be knocked down.. this game is all about atmosphere.

Compare it to a warm bath with some etherical oils sprinkled inside… sure it’s kinda boring to sit in the tub.. but after you come out of it you feel all tingly and buzzing, aglow with happiness. That is almost EXACTLY what a bathtime worth of Yoshi’s crafted world can do for you. Also equal to a bath.. that warm fuzzy feeling doesn’t linger infinitely.. that bath will cool. Soak to long and you notice that since your fingers went wrinkly not a lot changed after that. The wholesomeness is finite. For me the ideal pace is like 2 or 3 stages each time I feel a bit tense. Just put it on and let the world these dinosaurs live in wash away your grievances of the moment. In pokémon terms.. a normal video game is an ether, it restores power points… a mana potion for just about everyone else.  Yoshi’s Crafted World.. is like A Full Heal.. it restores any bad conditions, a Esuna or status removing potion. It is carefully constructed .. yet somewhat awkwardly formatted.

Forwards and Backwards

The format that was chosen is a 2d Collectathon  and this doesn’t always work out in this games favor. First of all we have to acquire all the daisy flowers per stage, finish a stage with max health and find all the red coins to complete a stage (you can finish it without any of these things) after which a backwards mode will unlock, in which you collect three Poochy pups within a time limit to get more daisies. After that is done several treasure hunts will unlock for stages which either take place on the front side or the backside of a stage. However treasure hunting usually means revisiting both sides at least once. On it’s own this already feels a bit like an awkward idea because of the fact that it is only 2.5d there is not THAT much to explore unlike in 3d collectathons.. so to make your journey feel expansive.. they locked it in tiers.. you can’t hunt the second treasure before you found the first.  Even if they are on the same route.

It feels as if this game mixes genres and elements that should not be mixed at the cost of pacing and our gamer instincts do the rest. It is easy to get sucked up into trying to complete a stage from the get go. and get everything and as for the daisies and red coins you really should try to get these on your first attempt ..because with these flowers you can already easily advance the game, no need to break your back on the treasure hunts and not even on the backwards stages.  You can just do that the next time, when the stage seems a bit fresh again. It goes a bit against gamer instinct but if you just move forward and revisit from time to time when you feel like it you can certainly have blast even in the backward stages.

Speaking off the Backward stages, they are absolutely adorable once more. While  on your journey forward you can see the beautiful and cute world of Yoshi, on backwards mode the camera now shows the undecorated side of the crafts. That house  you needed to jump over you now see.. was a pack of cookies, that cow is now invisible.. it is a cardboard backside with a little peg. That big house in the background? Cereal box! ..  And so the crafted world unfolds before you, by breaking the magic they actual validate this world so much. I squeed and forgot all about my neck pains.  This world is so vibrant and so alive.. in a very clean way.  I loved the addition of backward stages. Yet again more in an artsy appreciative way than enjoying it for it’s gameplay. Which is a weird thing to say about a game.  So I can see how wonderful it is but also how badly it fails as a game.. at least the general perception of what a game should be.

Bathtubs and Cookies

Whether or not you will like this game will really depend on your mindset, are you a bath person? Can you just enjoy nothingness and soak up atmosphere? If yes than this game is among the most unique games I have played and I deeply appreciate it. If you want a game where you actually want to be invested in the gameplay , there are probably better choices. Crafted World is not a bad game, it’s graphical style is amazing, it’s world building sublime and the controls are quite tight. It is completely held back by the reason what we want when we play games. It doesn’t cater to completionist nor does it cater to those who want to rush through.  It caters to someone in between.  With people’s thinking going more black and white each minute that kinda means this game isn’t for anybody?!

Should I judge this game equally as other games, I’d probably rank it 5/10  but I can’t shake the feeling that this is not the purpose of this game. If I rank it like I would a hot bath I’d probably rank this a 9/10.  In reality it’s probably something in between. Something like the opposite side of tetris. Where short bursts of gameplay are so enjoyable you do not need fancy visuals. This is the oposite , nothing more and nothing less. Visual interactive entertainment where the graphics and world building.. and sometimes even the puzzles themselves are so cute you do not mind the lackluster gameplay.

It’s like one of those highly frosted cookies. When you see it you absolute want it.. and because it looked so cute you do not mind it mostly just tastes like sugar.  However you don’t go in for a second cookie, yet the next day you can not help yourself to another one of those delicious looking cookies.. it is fine yet again after one you had enough.  Eventually you will finish the pack.  Half of us would buy it again.. the other would not it all depends on your mindset. To me this game is absolutely amazing, SINCE learning to take it slowly it made me smile so much. Yet it isn’t something I can easily recommend to everyone simply because not everyone can game casually.
So no review score for this one.. instead I want you to take apart the pieces of this review that are important to you and craft your own verdict!

Pokémon Sword and Shield News: Camping in Style

Five september 2019 will be mostly remembered as the day Sans got into Smash. Although he wasn’t exactly a character he’s still there. Along with Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury it will be fun new faces to welcome to the smash family. Yet of course to this reporter and her other personalities that was not the most interesting announcement of the day. We got mesmerized by the new Pokémon Announcements and here’s what’s new.

Camping

Pokémon games are often filled with silly features you use once or twice in your playthroughs and on first glance.. camping might be one of them. Yet for those who played Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee  know there might be more to this than meets the eye. In Pokémon Sword and Shield we can put up our little tent in the Wild Area. The Wild Area quickly seems to become the hot spot for all Pokémon Sword and Shield features. Basically everything online that isn’t versus takes place here. Max Raids were already announcement and now there is camps.

In your camp you can play with your Pokémon and let them bond with your team. While fan reception so far seems a bit lackluster I truly believe that this is our new Pokémon Amie or Pokémon Grooming. Not everyone is a fan ot this, but the bonus experience a max affectionate pokémon provides as well as the ability to break free from status is well worth the effort on story playthrough. The way you can play with your Pokémon so far looks absolutely adorable. You’ll gain access to a few Pokémon toys they can interact with.. like one of those cat rod thinges.. not sure how to name it as cats hate me in real life so I avoid those playthings as in my hand it drives them mad.  There also is a bouncy ball you can toss and your pokémon will go and fetch it.

It’s absolutely and utterly adorable I melted as soon as I saw the trailer of Vileplume bring back the ball. Now I want to run it on my team .. and that’s already so full! I’ll need several teams already! Now I want a vileplume just so I can toss a ball towards it. I am already inspired to catch them all now, because I feel like there is something I can do with my less offensive pokémon.

I can check out their play animations, I can train up some support pokémon for raids and keep it fun to alternate. Now your own camp is not the only camp that is available for you in pokémon sword and shield.  While in the Wild Area you can encounter tents of others players and interact with them to access THEIR camp (as longs as you pay to be able to go online with your Switch) you can take along one pokémon to play with everyone you can find at the camp to all gain some benefits. You can even cook together, which brings us to the second announcement

Cooking

In order to gain more affection from your pokémon and quite possibly gain some stat boosts making food is going to be a requirement. There is only one type of food in the Galar region and thank ARCEUS it’s not malasada! In Galar we make curry, now let’s hope that Hop isn’t as big of a curry fanboy as Hau was of the malasda. Cooking happens in a minigame similar to making poffins like in generation 4. Controlling the fire and stirring the pot. You can do this alone or a bunch of friends, with the latter allowing for better ranked dishes.

However curry-crafting goes a lot further than just that. There are ample curry-dishes to make ..so much so that there even is a curry-dex for you to complete. From Sausage Curry to Fried Food Curry to Tofu Curry and beyond. You can use your berries to add the classic flavors like, dry , sweet , bitter and spicy and depending on what nature your pokémon have .. they will really like one and hate another so much like a long time ago, you’ll have to know your pokémon and its nature a bit if you want to optimise your synergy.

A great choice and alongside camping to me this feels like a much more natural way to farm your pokémon’s affection. It makes you feel much more like a traveller and good food is available to everyone. Magic balls of yarn and magic fruit trees or picture puzzles like in Kalos aren’t available to everyone. While you are deep inside a frosted cavern it feels weird that you could suddenly blowdry your eevee in Pokémon Sun and Moon. This is how it should be done and this is what I will feel happy about.. and I can look pretty darn good doing it.

Trainer Customisation

Yaaay we can go shopping again! When Gen VI revealed shopping for clothes had become a thing I nearly wet myself in excitement, finally I could make the trainer I wanted to make. Even though the options were fairly limited I had great fun into making a character feel like me. Alola and Gen VII improved this a bit for me… because i was a female trainer. As a boy in Alola you did not really have to splurge on vanity items. In this game though. Customisation looks very neat. In the past we could only play wearing a very natural hair colour.. which made NO sense at all given that there were SO many gym leaders with extreme hair colours. Now a lot more will be available to us.

We can finally feel like an anime character having access to shades of green, blue and…. *drumroll* pink! There is plenty of outfits that look cute and unique. In Alola you had three options with other skin variations from.. tank top with short skirt or hot pants to sundress. Here it seems you can dress both formal, casual , though or even hippie like. If there is a pink dress i’ll be one happy camper!

New to features is the ability to have some detailed make-up and you can epilate your eyebrows.  Neat! Your brand new look can feature on your customisable trainer card. This trainer card allows you to pose and add your backgrounds add cute little details etc.
This card will be displayed at your important matches (i’d reckon online as well) . Trainer cards can also be handed out and collected like it’s own little trading card game. If there actually is a trading card game remains to be seen but it’s cute nonetheless and your trainer has never felt more like your own character than is this game.

Two or maybe three new Pokemon.

Alright Gamefreak I’ll give you ONE more trailer to reveal my sweet little Impidimp!  Yet again the devilishly pink pokémon was not revealed in the new trailer but we got two pokémon announced by name .. and maybe one other .. but we are quite unsure about it. However let’s not cross that bridge until we get to it shall we?  The first pokémon that was announced was Polteageist, the black tea pokemon.

A cute little teapot embodied by a little ghosty boy. Only 20 centimeters high and weighing 400 grams this pokémon is a perfect ornament in your daily life. You can drink it’s tea, but drinking to much of it will give you a stomachache. They can mostly be found at hotels and castles and the likes where they are oftenly be treated as pests. If a Polteageist sees a teapot with some tea remains in them it can pour some of it’s essence into those remains and another of it’s kind wil be born in the new teapot. This leads to them being somewhat of a plague and pest in hotels and restaurants. It is a pure ghost type.. being only the 10th pokémon ever of that typing.  It’s ability is weak armor, when it is hit with a physical move it’s defence stat is lowered but it’s speed is boosted. A nice way to simulate a cracking teapot but with a lot of priority physical moves out there, the strongest being it’s greatest weakness it remains to be seem if this pokémon can make it in to competitive play. It would need to have some solid speed stat to be begin with and some creative moveset to get around sucker punch.

The second pokémon that has been announcement was Cramorant. This Pokémon was part of the big leak that has nearly predicted everything right so far. I love it!  I am a big fan of ducks and though this isn’t really a duck it sure is part of the duck family. It’s super blue!

Smurfs were less blue than this derpy looking boy. It brings back memories of psyduck for me which is good.. because I also loved that one. It’s a flying water type which isn’t particularly unique but with electric types not being ran THAT much in both the games as well as in versus it’s solid enough of a typing to help you deal with a lot of obstacles on your way. Cramorant is described to a loyal but mostly hungry pokémon.. there seem to be a lot of hungry pokémon in the Glar region.  It will eat just about anything it can fit.. or even cant fit in its beak. While it is a scatterbrain it is said never to forget the bond with it’s trainers but don’t you dare steal it’s food. The waterbird is said to even ferociously attack it’s own trainer if they steal or take away the pokemon’s food. It’s most interesting feature however is it’s special ability. Gulp Missile allows the pokemon to scoop up a fishy after it uses surf or dive.

This little creature remains in it’s mouth after. This is called its Gulping Form, unable to swallow it whole Cramorant tries to eat..until it’s hit in combat after which it spits the sea creature at it’s opponent like a little projectile. This could be really fun.. and given that it works on dive AND surf it seems like Cramorant can work as both a physical or a special attacker. I am a fan of this duck-thing and I will find a shiny one!

Now this was all that was announced in the Nintendo direct. ‘But Pinke you told us there might be a third Pokémon’.  Well yes! Pokémon doesn’t really have much ‘classic’ animals in their ecosystems.. there’s hints some might be left.. but I do belief that little fishy is it’s own Pokémon. We saw pokémon eating other before. The toxapex evolution line preys on corsola so perhaps this little fishy can be the prey of my already beloved ducklike. Is Fishy an entirely new pokémon? Or could it perhaps be a Galarian Wishiwashi ? Due to how small it is I am inclined to say the latter, it would also make sense in a way as it’s a schooling Pokémon. It’s all speculation so it’s to early to tell.. but mark my words we will see more of Fishy in the future… lets just hope Impidimp goes first.

So we conclude the this post of  what is to come. Currently I am having some issues with my muscles which is vastly distracting from writing. This may result in a post or two missing near the weekend but I will try to be here and do my regular thing. Just as a precaution I would like to warn you all. Leave a comment or a like and make my day happier!

Until we read again! Hopefully sooner than later.

Pink-Poké-News Week 32

Week 32 has ended and with some amazing news for Pokémon this time! We have absolutely gotten some amazing pokémon news.  We updated you earlier about most of it in a breaking news post.  Today while I am actually spending a day at the zoo with my friends, we will look at the other news this week as well as briefly discuss the big announcement and the after effects. This is Pinkie Cherryblossom and this is Pink-Poké-News! (Insert standard news-jingle)

New Pokemon toys starting to appear.

The interest for Pokémon peeked this week, showing in a lot of tiny announcements.  Pokémon Crystal has shown again on the Nintendo EShop charts and everywhere little snippets of pokémon goodies are being released. Nanoblock has for example released three new building kits. In the form of Charizard Gyarados and Venusaur. Nanoblock is a lego like building set which has released a fair number of Pokémon so far and now as easily as visiting Amazon.com you and I can expand our sets with these new toys.  The Pokémon center has released a new adorable Psyduck figure We see psyduck using a confusion attack white stuck on some rocks! It’s cute and it’s tiny and it’s cheap! With being only 8 centimeters high (3.3 inches)  and 5 centimeters wide (2.3 inches) this one is easy to  display and even easier to buy, only costing $15,- this one is something I will definitely look out for once it comes here overseas.  Speaking of Psyduck, there has been an entire line of backpacks shirts and other printables released featuring this adorably bewildered duck. Yet again for now in pokécenters only, but that usually means it will become available for us in Europe as well! Not only psyduck received the love treatment, the waifu pokemon gardevoir also got a new figure at the center.  Gardevoir DX is slightly larger than the Psyduck gallery figure (about 11 by 9 centimeters or 5 by 4 inch). The display she attacks is moonblast which is depicted as a bright silver orb while she is surrounded by a silvery blue aura. Though the reporter loves this pokémon the action post of the figure is one of the lesser ones she has seen so far.

Shiny Turtwig to be the new community day shiny

Following their trend, Pokémon Go has unsurprisingly announced shiny Turtwig to be the next shiny to collect. The slightly darker green snapping turtle can be found on september 15th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM stardust earned will be tripled. Though this reporter does like Turtwig as a pokemon, she doesn’t think it’s a particularly good shiny. Her usual hunting friends will be out on a vacation then, thus leaving her to hunt alone.  The way Pokémon Go has recently been releasing content, which only seems to be based on filling box space with the same pokémon has caused this reporter many doubts if she should not just delete the entire application. However for now we shall continue to endure and see if anything good can come our way after this horrible team rocket expansion. We wish fans of the game the best in these times of barren and unfair content and hope the games soul can return soon.

Positive youtube buzz for Sword and Shield

The new Pokémon Sword and Shield trailer as we discussed it earlier is getting an enthusiastic response from the youtube community. With all the negativity surrounding the No-National-dex and Dexit debacles, it is nice to see that the pokemon community can still enjoy the announcement of new things for their beloved franchise. While people are calling for a boycott because not every pokémon will be in, most youtubers seem to be moving on beyond the hate. Both the announced Galarian form have been quite positively received by the slew of youtubers ths reporter follows on the topic.  Though some find Galarian weezing to silly, and others find Galarian zigzagoon to lazy everyone seems to at least enjoy one of two at least. Linoone new evolution has been receiving the most flack. Obstagoon is being compared to Gene Simmons a lot and rightfully so. This pokémon does seem truly inspired by him, to some people’s annoyance. The reporter herself is actually not all that bothered and thinks the pokémon does look kind of cool lifting it from a standard badger. Even better than that  Gene Simmons , in an interview with Newsweek, told he felt flattered by the game paying homage to KISS. HE acknowledged Pokémon has become a part of our culture ever since kids first discovered it. He felt flattered and honoured that pokemon would pay such a tribute to his band. So let’s take this as a win for the pokémon fanbdom shall we?

Pokémon Masters, officially live in Canada and Singapore

Easily this reporters most anticipated mobile launch of the year Pokémon Masters is now officially live in Canada and Singapore. Pre-registration for others countries will become available as time passes by. With the game coming officially life, it will not be long until we will be starting seeing some reviews   So far the game seems to be received quite well. The sharpest critique we heard so far is the fact that you aren’t able to use your daily discount summons, (a single trainer recruitment at a reduced cost) with free coins. The game tracks your stacks of cash separately, in game earned cash and paid cash. This seems a bit harsh but can also help greatly for parents to have some oversight in their kids spendings. We will be eagerly awaiting the critical reviews to see if this game will actually be any good.  Reader can expect Chibi Pinkie to put in a review of the game as well as soon as it becomes available in her playstore.

Pinkie’s Pokémon nominated for a  sunshine blogger award.

In week 32 Pinkie’s Pokémon has gained about 6 new followers, to which this reporter extends her warmest of welcomes and eternal gratitude, putting is well on course to make our target of 50 followers around the middle of November. The website A GIRL & HER ANIME has provided us with a nomination for a sunshine blogger award. We are very happy to receive such a nomination and will tro to place the post in the coming week.
Thank you for this wonderful thing! For this post I am to answer 11 questions, and nominate 11 other bloggers on the medium.
After which I have to ask them 11 different questions. The 11 question am answering for you guys will be :

  • If you were a Pokémon, what sort of Pokémon would you be?
  • Do you play video games? If so, what game have you been playing recently?
  • What’s your favourite colour? Any particular reason why it’s your favourite?
  • What’s your favourite thing to do during summer?
  • Ghibli is obviously very popular, but which movie do you think is the most overrated?
  • If you could travel back in time, when would you travel to and why?
  • As the new leader of a country, what is the first law you introduce?
  • Have you been reading anything recently?
  • Tell us about your favourite film.
  • Put your music on shuffle. What are the first three songs to play?
  • If you were to suggest an anime I had to watch, what would you recommend?

Now I am going to bend the rules here a little bit because of the large amount of overlap in invitations, as most of the geeky bloggers follow each other, i’d have a hard time nominating people. So I would like to ask my readers if you would like to receive a nomination and answer my 11 questions. (which will be different and sometimes maybe a bit hard).
Though I feel you all deserve a nomination I would think some of you would rather focus on their own content and some might be really eager to sink their teeth into this. I do have my own picks which I will use but I would also like people to step up and say! Hey I like a nomination. I’d feel sad if I nominated someone who’d rather not do it and overlook someone who really wanted this. After all everyone deserves a chance to shine!
