Hello again little lights! Little by Little I am trying to get back into the swing of anime reviews! Well not so much reviews anymore as it is episode reactions! I hope to bring back an anime review every day sometime soon! Who knows by the time you see this we might be close already! Of my seven anime I watched per week, Zombie Land Saga was the one I wanted to continue the most as it’s most in my style.. the second one I really wanted to pick up again was Cowboy Bebop! So here we go! Let’s see how much I liked the seventh Episode.
Big Rigs In a shitty place
Unlike my review of Zombie Land Saga I completely watched this episode before I gave my reaction, I did not like the review format to much.. because it made me whiney or praise something I did not like at all, yet the as we go reaction causes a lot of pauses in the view , I get distracted and end up doing a lot of other stuff, so this is another way to try and approach it. The Episode starts with a butch woman going by the name of V.T. She is a space trucker and she is walking into a trucker café. She’s playing a lot of Heavy Metal on her speakers as she does. I don’t like heavy metal all that much but I must admit Cowboy Bebop uses it well.. I found the music annoying but it conveys that trucker atmosphere. The character design is quite gender ambiguous and since the voice kind of reminds me of Frieza.. that feeling was aided. Yet that is also kind of how I feel 80’s or 90’s trucker women would be depicted and I don’t mean that in a bad way..there is this 80’s action movie flavor to this episode and she fits right in it.
There is a game going on to guess V.T.’s true name.. which no one does.. But I get it fairly soon as soon as I hear some bikers talk about rumors of a legendary bounty hunter… well her last name at least… but that one is SUPER complicated… so I forgot. Her favourite bar is crowded tonight as someone named Decker is on the planet and all these guys are Bounty Hunters… a great bridge is made to our no hung-over hero. V.T. gets in a 80’s action fight with some ruffians and they spill Spike’s Anti hangover drink over him so he gets involved as well. I really like the choreography here, it really feels so 80’s.. including the narrative beats and music beats.. it really rocks! It kind of reminds me of Jack Burton from my favourite action movie! He was a trucker as well! Regardless the two bond a bit , she finds Bounty Hunters to be the worst people ever and of course this makes me know I have guessed the name right. Spike plays along as she buys him a drink for helping. She then withdraws that offer as she finds out the truth because of Faye.
Faye is sitting at a sort of Chuck E Cheese restaurant hoping to find Decker, who they only know has a Dragon Tattoo. When a big gorilla of a man walks in with a serpentine tattoo drawn on his chest she wastes no time and decides to confront him! Obviously in typical 80’s fashion she got the wrong target and the real guy is a weasley nerd looking guy! Showing appearances can be deceiving. She chases him but with a little container he deals massive damage to her beloved ship! Now he can get away freely so she has to call spike for help! Those walkie talkies they have really cover some distance. I wonder where they got those! V.T. wants nothing more to do with Spike and he leaves the “diner” just to see his ship has been vandalised! One of the Waitresses does the whole dumb blond thing that once again we see in 80’s movies. So much atmosphere!
Big Rigs in Space
Spike and Faye have to get towed.. and what better way to do that as with a truck. Spike catches a ride with V.T so Jet can start working on their repairs. Faye complains a lot about the heavy metal music but VT tells her to shove it basically because it is her ship! Which is completely fair. We also get a funny scene of Ein not eating Bean Sprouts which is the only food they have left.. showing money is scarce for the crew.. this means the bounty is probably going to get away again! Poor Ein! Going hungry like that! This is a trope that I do kind of like but I also feel like we should at least be shown the crew making enough money to stay alive. I like dogs a lot so I kind of feel pained to see poor Ein be sold short! Last episode Faye ate his dog food as well.. What if that was his last can! I would like to see them do a bit better at least.. if only for Ein’s sake. The whole atmosphere that we build up towards with the broken ships is pretty neat though!
Having dropped off Faye and Spike, VT hears about a man in a space truck that rammed another trucker.. they had some dragon tattoo and some sort of buddhist art on their truck. VT knowing who it is seems to think she might be able to snag up a bounty and deliver some street justice? I am not really sure what her motivation is here.. I am bad at things like these. Truckers code maybe?! Who knows?! She pursues the guy towards some Asteroid and Spike tells her not to go, thinking he is a stupid Bounty Hunter she ignores his call and we get a Truck Off! Trucks ramming each other moving through asteroids and in general a pretty good space chase scene.. which kind of is reminiscent of … an 80’s action movie chase scene. The villain however plays dirty and uses his weapon which turns out to be some advanced form of Nitroglycerin. VT is too skilled of a trucker to get done in by that and as she smirks, she realises the entire asteroid she is one is being used to mine some kind of explosive material and it has become totally unstable. The villain meets his demise by his own doing.. which is quite conform.. that’s right 80’s action movies.
VT however is now up a creek without a paddle! Her “truck” crashed on a more and more exploding asteroid and her only shot to get out of this alive is by relying on the help of Faye and Spike. Both of them are rather bummed out on having missed yet another bounty but that’s when I notice the dialogue in this episode is really to the point. There isn’t a lot of “fluff” dialogue going on, these characters talk to each other but it’s not a conversation persé , all the dialogue is in service of the action and the main story. At least after the first bar meet up. The characters don’t joke around here or say stuff like “If I ever am going to see a sunrise again I will. … <blank> “ No there is no lesson these characters learn, no larger appreciation for life and no witty banter to pad out the episode. I feel they talk like how normal people would which is a credit to the amazing writing. They just help and coach each other through certain actions and it still feels vibrant and interesting.
This Trucker shows her real Face
The rescue operation becomes a lot more complicated when the meteorite collapses due to explosions and the exit is blocked. Now they have to use some tricky actions to get some Nitro into the collapsed part. Spike decides to use a play using his escape pod which forces him to space walk without a suit. Without a shadow of a doubt he does it and he leaps towards VT.. He knows how she really is! He knows she will help despite her claiming to hate Bounty Hunters with a passion! I loved this scene! Spike doesn’t tell what he is going to do.. he just does it.. and while he is doing it everyone realises what is going on giving them the focus to do what they need to do.. but also drop those masks they sometimes hide behind. VT is forced to drop that harshness and Faye has to stop pretending to be weaker then she actually is. She often plays the damsel in distress to gain an edge or to let others do her work but right now she can’t! She is forced to step up!
Spike is saved by VT in a rather weird way.. he misses the jump and falls into a weird form of gravity.. so he uses his pistol to create momentum?! That seemed odd to me.. I know there is knockback to a gun but would it really give him that much lift? Among all the anime I have seen so far where beams and magic is used as propulsion this feels.. flimsy and it looks kind of silly. For a slight moment it takes me out of the episode. Not for too long though! With an amazing explosion the group makes it out of the destroying rock… just like an 80’s movie and we get a great conclusion! Spike just floats on the spaceship.. his near death experience still very present in his system.. he lights up a cigarette and thanks VT by her original name.. something I had already guessed. She is the wife of one of the greatest bounty hunters after.. she lost him during a job and that’s why she hates them so much. That was really easy to guess I would be a great bounty hunter!
The predictable ending can be justified with the words that it was well set up! I never minded it being so obvious and the same goes for most of this episode! I really enjoyed the story that happened here with the exception that I would have liked it if they would at least be able to feed Ein.. I don’t mind them being poor but I really hate to see a dog go hungry! That might be a weird thing for me to be so concerned about .. but in episode 5 the stealing dog food really made me angry and this time not being able to feed the dog kind of makes me sad! Luckily Ein is engineered to be smart so maybe he will understand! I do hope we at least see one successful bounty or at least see them get some income! This episode Spike won a ton of cash but he did not accept it. I do look forward to the next episode though! The 6th episode was a bit middle of the road for me but with this I got pulled back in!
Welcome to another gameplay post with my little lights! I have been steadily taking you on many of my gameplay journeys and the result so far is .. a bit so so! I am having fun and have a lot of games to explore in terms of people liking and interacting with the pots! But I am having fun! Recently I started a little Romhack of Final Fantasy VI .. called Return of the Dark Sorceror which retells the story of my favourite game with other characters. Last time I discovered this game was kind of weird, meeting characters like Cloud and Mr Meeseeks.. what will I find this time?! Well let’s find out

Serin and Ronan
The second session with this game fills me with a sense of .. I do not know.. I really wanted to play again.. but now I booted the game up I can’t help but feel… meh?! As the novelty of a weird Rom Hack has already lost a bit of shine and in a way it does. at What used to be Figaro castle but now called by yet another name feels… dry.. and not just because it is in the desert. Nothing new is really being done here. Serin is just a king.. though they say he is an alchemist. He also has a brother.. but the change made is that he is a half brother. The dialogue with Kefka is virtually exactly the same as before. The first minutes of my second sesion feel a bit like a deception..the weirdness is gone and instead these are just name swaps. It is a bitter pill to swallow after taking the extra effort to get my characters here.
The tale of Serin and Ronan is told through a cutscene where the dad is dying of being poisoned and we see the classic events unfold.. but here I think it would have been rather easy to change it into something a bit newer and more impactful. The majestic theme of Figaro Castle has been replaced with something a bit more generic and peppy! It feels pretty Final Fantasy … but there is no weight! … In the first game I could feel Edgar’s pain and Sabin’s as well.. here though because these characters are not someone like Cloud.. and they lack that tongue in cheek humor.. I feel they are more weak imitations of the originals. I might have preferred it if they were the original characters… Let’s hope the events coming can change my mind.
Serin wakes up later that day and smells smoke! He immediately thinks.. the cook has set fire to the castle again. Which apparently is a thing because as soon as he talks to a guard about it the guard takes it rather seriously! Not this time sir.. it is Kefka he set the castle on fire with some spells! It is time to escape the submerging city! Serin asks a guard to hide his magazines before some called Elenor finds them. It’s Funny enough but a lot of Dialogue is still repeated and the music that plays while the castle is burning is really a miss! It’s tonally totally off! Of course I do like the fire animation and stare at it for a while.. but hey.. I need to press on!
The Zombie Cave
The Escape scene once again has some pretty bad music.. that is NOT this Rom Hacks strength, but we do get a nice extra battle against some Magitech armor .. it is pretty challenging and I get to see Serin in use for the first time.. it turns out he indeed does play like Edgar.. but with other abilities based on “pills” with him being an alchemist. He can for now use a bow Weapon much like Edgar could.. but he can also confuse enemies, which is a lot more helpful early on than Bio Blaster. Aurora learns the spell Virus to cause toxic damage so this is a nice way that the two don’t overlap! Kekfa is left with his face in the dust as things seem to proceed fairly normally for now! Making my way to the caves goes pretty easily as I do know this game pretty well and we get a new sort of event. Apparently this cave is filled with beings that can cast the Zombie status…that’s fast! Also a random guard called Hector joins the team! He is Allergic to Chocobo’s so he is always late! Hey I got a friend who is always late.. perhaps she is allergic to her car! The game also commits a grave sin! They REPLACE the Chocobo theme! Boooooo! Inside the cave Zelda music plays.
That is not all they have in common though! The creepy wall hands also show up as enemies and some creepy voodoo dolls! Now I am beginning to like this stuff again! I do like the creepier music vibe here.. as we use the Zelda Dungeon music remixed in a much more ominous version! That is the better way of sound design..my head screams dungeon now and the tone screams dark which is reflected by the enemies.. of course they are also kinda hard to deal with! The Wall Crawlers can leap up and walk across the wall.. making them untargetable for a good while. The voodoo dolls want to cast horrible spells on me but seem to always be low on magic.. maybe I need to remember these things because at a later level they won’t be so weak?! We encounter a lot of enemies and struggle on.. eventually making our way through the caves.. in the final room Hector decides to leave us saying it is lucky we did not encounter any zombies… Apparently Jinx is a Final Fantasy spell now.
We get in a fight with a ginger zombie.. and he immediately casts the status on Cloud. I know I have the items to heal it with me .. but since all these item names make no sense to me like Tulaberry Aqualine Echo Herbs and Karma Jolt.. I have no idea how to cure him.. I need to let him be a zombie and restore him once the fight is over. Annoying..there is no need to change the name of the potions! We make it through the cave and now it is time to look for the resistance! I know this game is fairly hard so I decide to head to “Not Sabin’s” Cabin to restore and I find Echo Herbs in the Field.. which cure Silence and Aqualin.. which cures poison. After sleeping in the hut a old man shows up and tells Ronan.. the not Sabin.. went away after Raditz…. has slain his master. OMG! OMG! OMG! .. Raditz Actually got a kill! I am so proud of him!
Spain!
Raditz is said to live up on mount Zephyr.. a mountain up north of where I am at now. I don’t see the town near or maybe I missed it as my mind is only focussed on one thing! Raditz! I am gonna fight Raditz! For those who don’t know , I am a big BIG Dragon Ball Z fan and I do love the character Raditz a lot so I would love to see how they did him in this game! I rush into the caves and discover some interesting new monsters. Like Ferocious birds, big swine.. and Vega from Street Fighter.. a lot of them! Would that be two Vegas or two Vega? I don’t know.. I just beat their scrawny touchie and I know just how they would sound like when they slowly fade away. Kind of like a seal dying I mean not that I would not know how a seal dying would sound but I could imagine it would be a bit like Vega’s death cry. As an immortal moth I don’t need a death cry.. but maybe I do need to work on a Kaiju cry?! I like Wrrrrrryyyy but that is taken already!
It doesn’t take too long before Aurora gets petrified by fighting a Cockatrice. Of course that is the one status that I don’t have a cure for! So while I am looking for a savepoint to use my Shelter that looks like Inky from Pacman .. I get attacked by a Predator! Of course he is here, he must have come with Raditz from outer space! I do manage to beat it with just Serin and Cloud and we find a save spot! Since Predator outlevels me I farm the caves dry for treasure to get a few levels as we go along! I have a shelter left before the Raditz boss fights anyway! Serin finds a new weapon! I also find a Moogle Salesman that sells me the cure for petrify.. instead of soft… it’s Tissues! Uhm.. sure?! I also picked up a nice blade for Aurora! It powers up strikes if you use MP and she is the only character with MP sooooo yeah! Then it is time.. I see a familiar long haired man with black and brown armor hopping about! Oh boy! It’s Raditz fighting time!
Raditz
However .. this game likes to throw me a curveball and Raditz summons two Saibaman saying that a real Saiyan can easily defeat these! Oi, YA know those things are the exact same power level as you right?! Raditz power level and that of the Saibaman both clocks in at 1200! Well I guess there is the boss then?! Nope! Raditz is but I bet you can guess what the function of these Saibaman is in a fight that takes place right before the Raditz fight! “Yay this Saibaman is super close to me and glowing like a lamp! I love it. I am gonna call it Ed and make it my best friend the whole wide…………BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! Ouchies!” The Raditz fight starts and of course I can’t scan him.. because why would I! This means Raditz gets a free turn because I have to send Serin into Ether up Aurora who drained all her magic in the Saibaman Fight. Cloud bravely takes on Raditz.. but we weren’t strong enough! I wipe out and I see Serin crying at our graves! Oi! Why does the generic sprite swap get to live?! Luckily XP is retained so I go back.. buy the magic weapon again..but give it to Cloud this time.. he can’t utilize its effect but it has better stats then his current weapon.. he will be our main DPS. While fighting our way back he also learns the new Limit Break: Blade Beam.
Okay…so it’s rematch time! This time I managed to kill at least one of the Saibaman without it exploding in my face and I invested a bit more money in potions at the shop.. rather then buying those tissues right now. This means Serin can offheal if he needs to! I discover Raditz is super weak to the Virus spell.. I guess a weakness for viruses runs in the family! This time I luck out a lot. Aurora blocks a lot of Saturday Crashes so she can attack a bit more often. Raditz also attacks a lot more into Cloud this time around whom I can keep healed with Aurora. At one point though Raditz begins screaming about Saiyan pride and Not-Sabin shows up! Raditz uses a Double Sunday to blow away the party but . Ronan keeps standing. He fights Raditz as hard as he can..eventually realizing he has to use the Ki-Blast combo technique his master taught him. A big beam is fired and Raditz is critically injured..but he teleports out! The battle has been won.. and the journey to the resistance can resume! But that .. is a story for another time.
If you are reading this and are like “come on girl, play some actual games” well I have a Kofi that helps me buy real games! I am not asking you to support it.. I am just Saiyan! Hello my Little Lights, I am back to playing Moemon Emerald, having lost Sakura last episode I have recovered well enough to brave the trails that come next with my magical girls?! How did Sakura die?! Well she fainted in the last episode during grinding .. and in a Nuzlocke when a Moe or Pokémon faints they are considered dead. Read more details in the last episode! Which you can find at the bottom of this post! Today we are headed for Slateport and hopefully all the way up until our next rival battle! I haven’t played this in ages though.. so I am not sure what we will encounter! I do know our episode will start with a challenge on the beach!

The Battle of the Beach Club
The Boat arrives at the beach of Slateport, a beach that is littered with trainers! I am pretty sure I get an item if I beat all the trainers here…or at least I think so.. so I challenge the first sailor I see. He calls himself Fisher Marilyn, his first Moe is a Minun.. since I lead Asuka.. it immediatly is a harsh reminder of our loss. Sakura would be so good against this. Right now the best swap is to switch in Jigglypuff again! His second Moe is a Graveler which means I swap in Souji.It goes off without a hitch.. but then I get ambushed by a girl hiding behind a Parasol and I end up in a double battle! It makes sure Asuka is double attacked and takes some heavy damage with Souj taking out a Wailord leaving a Hypno alive. I decided to let Asuka use a Milk Drink and then I realised I read it wrong. It’s actually Souji who took the damage.. luckily everything ends up okay. But… stupid as I am .. I stumble into another double battle!…Fuuuuuu. Souji levels up but Miku needs to save everyone again! She isn’t leveling fast though!
My team ends up being so hurt that I have to go heal in the Pokécenter.. on my way back I decide to visit the Moemon Trainer Fanclub… which is kinda creepy! One guy offers to teach me Flame Wheel and Asuka can learn it.. so she learns… .Aerial Ace.. Oh.. that is weird! I knew Moves were randomised but I did not know static moves were replaced as well! Oh well at least Aerial Ace is more reliable then Sky Attack. We easily wipe most of these teams because they are at a kind of wimpy level! I really expected trainers to be a bit closer to the gym leader but oh well! It will get through fast enough I bet! The Tate and Liza leap later on is huge anyway! We defeat the cutest little Voltorb.. BAM! It’s dead now! I win every battle of the battle of the beach and win a case of Soda Pops.. that might seem like a lame prize.. but in a Nuzlocke.. this is a godsent!
Pirates of the CariHoenn .. At Chores End
I go to the shipyard to deliver the Devon Goods but it turns out that the guy whom I have to give the package too is at another location and this guy that tells me also tasks me with delivering the parcel to this new location! …. So let me get this right! .. I SAVE your goods.. then as a reward you gave me a cheap cellphone.. then force me to go on a boat with an old guy drooling over little girls… and I AM!!! A little girl! Then you make me deliver a parcel…but also force me to deliver a LETTER as an extra stop that forces me to venture to a Moe filled cave.. including insanely powerful ones like several Mewtwo and Moltres..then when I get the package on the location.. you ask me to go out of my way and find the guy in a museum or something?! And I have to pay my own entry fee?! Jeesz .. no deed goes unpunished I guess! Reluctantly I head out.
Once I enter the Museum I see it’s taken over by an evil team….HOW HORRIBLE are the people in the pokémon world actually! The Museum attendants could have told me.. hey kid.. there is like a hoard of pirates here.. you might want to come back later… or HELP US an evil team is everywhere you are a trainer perhaps you can help us come in for free! But Nooooo Pinkie has to pay! Frick! How rude! The team seems to be quite nice though! The guy I beat earlier even gives me a move.. I wonder what it is! ….Sonic Boom! Huh! I am not having any luck there.. I am not using the two letter term because google docs shrinks it down to a trademark logo. So yeah! Sonic Boom only and always deals 20 damage.. but in a randomiser with full evolutions everywhere this move is worthless.. the only one who could use it was Sakura. Sniff.. I miss Sakura!
As soon as I go up the second floor of the Museum things change though! Team Aqua attacks as I want to give Mister Stern his stupid package.. now they want to take the items and since Stern doesn’t have any Pokémon on him.. I have to stop them! I better get another reward for this! The Aqua Grunts are easy, but they are catching up in level very fast! They already use level 15’s.. then Archie the Pirate leader shows up and asks me if I am part of Team Magma.. What is a TEAM Magma?! Why would they accept a 10 year old in their ranks! I fully expect to fight Archie as I am pretty sure I will fight Maxie in the Museum in Pokémon ORAS .. but no Archie just bails. Finally something went my way.. time to get my reward…. a thank you from professor Stern.
I stomp outside and am greeted by a weird person named Scott! Scott wants to be my friend! He says he wants to follow me around… Scott is a grown man .. asking a 10 year old girl to follow her around! The HECK is wrong with the Pokémon World.. I mean sure I made the world a bit creepier by turning Pokémon into little girls.. but even then, people really take advantage of Children here! I guess it is time to go up North and find fame and fortune for myself! I stock up on a few super potions, and status healing items as well as five great balls! Then it is time to leave this harbor town! Scott comes out of the battle tent and tells me if I want to try it! No.. I do not! It’s not that I don’t find it fun.. but it doesn’t do anything for the Nuzlocke and I can follow the rules there! So I am skipping it!

Encounter-Encounter-Encounter! I get a new Encounter! I dive in the grass right away! To find out what it is! I have a few great balls so catching should go smooth if I lead Miku! Using Flail she will not oneshot anything! Big Brain plays! It turns out to be a Tentacruel.. which is not bad. I name it Ika-Chan but decide to leave it boxed right now. Tentacruel is a bit of a tank and with Jigglypuff on my team I do not have a need for that role as for now! Corphish will be a physical attacker when it evolves (if it would learn physical moves) which is a much more needed thing in my team as Usagi and C.C are very much special oriented. Murmur right now is a physical attacker but her specialty will veer of into special.. She might get booted off the team if I get a better Earthquake user.
As I move one a fat guy ask me if I have seen his son.. I tell him I haven’t and that I do not like to travel with boys! He acts surprised but says it is okay..giving me his phone number.. Okay thank you professor! Let’s move on! I decided to hunt for items first on route 103 and I will briefly visit trick masters house as well. I want the items! They can be valuable! Asuka struggles in her fights.. but she manages to reach level 20 and evolves! She kind of likes pretty now! On Route 103 I also encounter a Lax Incense, an item that allows attacks to miss one of my Pokémon more often! I give it to Usagi! She is my dearest baby after all! Any attack she can avoid will be great! Miku now gets the Amulet coin! Trick Masters house is a puzzle house in the game that allows you to use your HM’s to solve puzzles.. a few good items are hidden in there… which for me now got randomised to berries. Everyone except for CC reaches level 20 with Miku and Usagi even reaching level 21. The only one learning a good move is Murmur who learns Hyper Fang instead of Vice Grip!
Time to move up route 110 and fight my Rival! Brendan who likes to be called Bug Catcher Tia this time around .. is known to be the weakest rival in all of the games and should be super easy…NORMALLY… The first match is Gardevoir versus Primeape! Okay That one I will easily beat.. but his Pokémon is level 18 already so it’s up to par with my team!.. Gardevoir should outspeed Primeape.. but it has Huge Power and Starts with Protect.. I C.C. Should be able to live a fighting move from PrimeApe she is quad resistant..to fighting after all.. This wasn’t right! In this game Gardevoir is just a Psychic type.. it would not have mattered though.. Gardevoir is killed by a critical hit after missing her own move.. The only Pokémon that might kill it is Fearow.. IF it doesn’t outspeed me. It does.. but Primeape goes for Focus Energy .. Aerial Ace is Super effective and finishes it off! Baltoy comes out.. and is easily finished off with Octazooka from Souji! My heart drops when I see Brendan’s last Pokémon…crabcakes.. he has a Lugia! Please don’t have Focus Blast! Miku I choose you! Lugia had Psycho Boost.. if I would have not had Miku.. I might have lost here! Lugia gets Crushed by Crushclaw… but I get Crushed by the loss of C.C.
C.C. was given a viking funeral on route 10. I asked Asuka to set her boat on fire with a Flame Wheel.. but since it was changed to Aerial Ace her boat was whipped away on the wings of friendship! As her body disappeared on the horizon, I noticed my heart already began to harden a little bit.. this death hurt less than Sakura’s… this journey would change me! I already began to wonder if we should use Ika-Chan on the team.. but doing that would make my team EXTREMELY weak to most types. It will also be a hassle to grind her up! So we will wait until we get to Mauville! Check out our encounters in that area near the daycare. That will determine if we will continue our journey with hope…or Despair.. but that is a tale for the next episode.

Never Have I Ever: Eaten Bugs?
Chigau! Wrong! I have eaten bugs on a few occasions. I am very convinced someone has to try and experience everything in their life… though with my luck I won’t jump out of planes and stuff or get cattle prodded or something. I am extremely open minded about food! The first time I ate bugs I was at a wholesale store, they had this “try our mealworms sign” out and I was like.. Okay?! Mom looked at me like I had gotten insane but I took a little spoon of Mealworms.. they could have used a dash of salt. They kind of taste like harder browner its of crisp/potato chips you find at the bottom of the bag. I bet they would taste nice with some chili flakes or maybe a caramel! It needed some love! I have also eaten a scorpion like that.. it was actually kinda tasty! It had a bit of a shrimpy taste.. It also had a bit of a popcorny feel! It would be great with loads of butter!
I only once paid to eat bugs! It’s in this coffee place called Bagels and Beans. It had a mealworm bagel! It had some Avocado and sundried tomatoes on it and a locust! I did not like the taste of the locust as much. The experience kind of reminded me of slightly burned walnut covered in that popcorn skin that gets everywhere. The mealworms with Avocado Tomato and a bit of spread was pretty nice though! It’s very emision friendly protein as well and I could see myself eating it again! It is really overpriced though to eat as a daily meal and I don’t like the popcorn skin feeling afterwards too much. Maybe a thick butter sauce would fix that by coating them! Who knows! It was a fine bagel though not my favorite. The bug I want to still eat.. A Moreton Bay Bug! Yum!
Never Have I Ever: Fallen Down In Public
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Super Chigau! I’ve fallen down a LOT in public! Whether that was from me being knocked unconscious during gym class and plummeting to the earth, or just trippin on my own feet! That was before I got my virtual wings though! I think I have done every kind of falling known to man, crashing, tripping, plummeting and diving. I slammed down hard at the Doge Palace in Venice, I tumbled of a staircase in Notre Dame (and decided it would be wise not to climb up further) and biked off a hill due to a sneeze.. and mild intoxication and fell into the fence of a petting zoo! Much to the children’s entertainment!
My best known fall though was around the time of Mardi Gras, the southern provinces of the Netherlands celebrate “Carneval” then which is like Carnival.. but less slutty and with a lot of Halloween things added such as the Candy and the silly costumes. It’s a season though from the 11th of November until somewhere in Februari we have several parties and occasions. I was at one of these parties when one of our province’s biggest local artist was performing their music on stage. They invited people to dance in the background on the stage and I could go!
It was a song called Druk Druk Druk (Which I will leave down below) and we had to run around the stage like crazy! Yay atmosphere! However I tripped on the music installation and flew a bit landing face first on the middle of the stage just behind the two singers. The music cutting out because I tripped on a cable and ripped it out.. well not the entire music but it sure as heck got a lot softer! A few friends picked me up and carried me off stage. My glasses looked a bit dishevelled and my foot hurt but my pride was hurt even more when the group had to take a small intermission after that song to get the music fixed. Then I saw the thing was being filmed for local televisions! Guess who never told THAT fact to her mom and dad! The first day I had to work after I was getting lunch in my break and the woman at the register asked me if I was the one that fell on stage in the other town!
Never Have I Ever : Scrolled too far on Someone else’s camera roll and saw a picture I REALLY wasn’t supposed to?
I solemnly swear I have never done this! They mean nudy shots or something right?! My friends both offline and online often refer to me as a Panda. Which means I don’t get laid.. but I am known for my actual ability to avoid sexual context. It’s like a super power or something! People can be watching a porn in a room and I walk in and I spill my drink on me and have to go to the bathroom before noticing porn was on! And yes that actually happened. People tried to show me hentai drawings and I got a bug into my eyes! One time the group decided to watch Hentai together, which I found a super weird thing to do, for “comedy” and I objected but lost the vote! But their internet provider was doing maintenance at the time! I went home a bit earlier due to not feeling too great and the mindset of the evening being a bit to “vagrant” to me and as soon as I sent them a text I got home , their internet had come back.
The most blatant one was that I somehow completely zoned out in a van while a guy was being .. stimulated by his girlfriend next to me! I was quite drunk after a party and was just looking at some footage I took of the party and trying to play Angry Birds (it was a while ago yes) I was very frustrated I could not play Angry Birds dead drunk.. but I only found out that happened right next to me a whole year later! I did not sleep in the same room as them but apparently they slept next to a guy and just moved a closet in between him and them so they could hump as well.. he could still hear them though and then they looked at me and said that I had seen stuff.. and I have not seen a thing.. they told me that was strange since they weren’t subtle! So your phone is safe with me! It might explode if I get near one of those photos but it will never show me your naughty pics!
Never Have I Ever: Been Carried Out of a Bar
Questionable, I have never been thrown out of a bar, nor have I passed out in one. I have been to a bar where people needed to assist me outside because I got so drunk. Once on by birthday , none of my friends would make time for me , one of them preferred to go to a party that was thrown by a friend’s sisters, best friend. That was more important than my Birthday, another said he did not want to come because he just not felt like it! They all cancelled at the last minute and cancelled petty! So only one friend and his cousin showed.. It felt like a pity party and I bought booze for everyone and I drank it all out of feeling miserable that I had been blown off! I got so drunk people put funny hats on me and posed for pictures. Imagine “Weekend at Bernie’s”.. but drunk me! I do have an autopilot so if you tell me to go home , I neatly go sit in your car ..but I may have needed a bit of guidance! Also got pneumonia for sitting in the outside area of the club so much!
Only once WOULD I have ever been kicked out of a bar. This girl thought I made out with her boyfriend and attacked me.. I could have been reasonable but she knocked the drink out of my hand and grabbed and wrinkled my outfit! I headbutted her in the face! She stumbled outside and told me to come at her there.. security was surely coming to kick us out. She was challenging me and indeed security was approaching… I walked to the bar and grabbed a half empty bottle of drink someone left. Security asked me if I was fighting this girl and I denied it saying I was drinking here for a while showing my half empty bottle. They checked if I was raging or drunk and I was neither , I was polite with them and told them I would leave if they had to be sure.. I would understand but if I could please tell my friends about the misunderstanding because I would not be able to go home otherwise. I then told them she mistook me for someone else earlier as well.. so the one who fought probably looked like me. They said it was okay and they believed me .. I never caused trouble and if people bother me I can always come to them… not much later they threw out a girl that looked like me a fair bit. For some reason she was super angry and aggressive as well.
Never Have I Ever : Thrown up in a Roller Coaster
I have never actually thrown up in a Roller Coaster. I have thrown up in a fair bit of public places though. I have been prone to spells of travel sickness, on busses and even more so boats. I have also thrown up in one of these spinny theme park rides which sorts of counts I guess?! I don’t handle spinning all that well. One time we got to a theme park and it was quite deserted.. Me and my friend always visit theme parks in the off -season on weekdays to get a quiet experience. Wanting to go on a spinny ride . I agreed, hoping it would not last too long.. it was one of those older rides.. so not one that is on a timer but one that can be stopped and manipulated like the ones at the fair. … then the guy in the cabin got a phone call. The ride lasted on and on! Luckily my friend rode in another spinny thing as me! I knew what time it was so I cleared out my backpack of stuff.. and got a new backpack in the gift store a bit later.
The one time that got me into trouble though is when I actually faked vomiting. We were going to a theme park we visited a lot and we were on this Log Ride/ Water Coaster like thing and we always had a competition on who could make the silliest action photo. I brought one of those squeeze yoghurt things.. some orange juice and some M&M’s. Just before the action photo I put it all in my mouth mixed it up and spit it out at the camera. The result was a thickish yellowish fluid with some green and brown chunks (yes I sorted them for believability ) the result.. was convincing enough! The people did not really appreciate the joke though! I am still looking for a way to fake rainbow vomit!

In January Indigo, who onTwitter goes by the name of John, despite not being his real name, became my highest Tier Patreon. As a “One Time Only” Reward, along with quite a few other rewards. Indigo got to be made into a Pokémon (as well as him getting a Pokémon Team which will come later) . This is the post to do that! A huge thank you to John for supporting my blog as much as he does and for being a Hero Coconut.
The Typing of John
Why do I use John, instead of Indigo?! Because he isn’t STAFF this time! He is in the spotlight! Determining a type for the man is a bit harder than it would be for Irina who got this done to her as a thank you for her amazing interpretation of my Blog Tag. John I can place in all of the following types: Normal, Dark, Ice, Fairy, Electric, Steel, Fighting and Ground. To a lesser extent I can even place him in Grass and Rock. There is an argument for ghosts as well albeit a flimsy one. John had a typical greeting of addressing me as a Fleshy mammal implicating he in fact is not a fleshy mammal, which makes ghosts quite eligible.. but also, rock ground and steel. However just because it is funny I do want to make this Pokémon rendition of him a bit of a mammal himself. So we will be going for a dual-type style Pokémon with at least one flesh component. John can be an incredible edgelord , thinking it is cool to find a half eaten deer in the forest and showing me a picture (albeit cleaned up). So Dark Type.. would be a great pick… however the Dark Type is called “Evil Type” in Japan… and that he is not! So no dark type for Johnmon!
Hailing from Finland would make him a great ice-type but I have already done the whole “she’s from Russia and Canada thus Ice-type hyuk hyuk” with Irina. What makes John, John however, is that he is quite a war aficionado! He loves old wars, he loves Warhammer and just anything that has to do with soldiers, mercaniers, vikings and all that stuff. That Warrior aspect I would like to include in his Pokémon. He is also a gun nut! Unfortunately Guns are a big no no in Pokémon. Remoraids original design was banned because it looked too much like a gun. Since these Pokémon have to be somewhat game viable let’s give him Guns..instead of guns! I mean big muscles! That way we can refer to them as guns and everyone knows we really do mean guns! Since John loves metal music, spikey things and bullets we will give him the Steel Typing and the Fighting Type. However John’s features will be his wide range. We will give him a custom ability. Which makes him less of a Pokémon if it just makes up everything.. .but here me out on this. He gets three reinterpretations of Dhelmise ability Metal Worker, which gives the Ghost Grass anchor also STAB boost Steel type moves. John has THREE variants of this ability. Edgelord, which will boost his dark type moves, Good-Guy, which will give Fairy Types a STAB Bonus and Electrician which will offer that same effect to electric type moves.
Designing John
Finland has a wide variety of animals and I could easily see John being a bear. He is very huggable yet a fierce warrior as well. There aren’t even that many bears either! However John is prone to overdesign, so that means he would most likely not be a Basic Pokémon. He would most likely be either a Stage 1 or Stage 2 evolution. So rather than creating that completely from scratch we will use a pre-existing pokémon and I don’t feel Teddiursa would be a great form for John, nor do I feel Ursaring would need an evolution. Instead we would give an unused Pokémon some love! Luckily there is one finnish animal that is present in the pokémon games that is unloved and could use something special. That is the Reindeer Pokémon.. and I know Lapland might not be Finland.. but it is close enough for Pokémon! So Reindeer John it is. Well he evolves into more of an Elk.. but regardless! We will use Stantler as a Base. A regional variant with extra strong legs, and horns that look a bit more like clubs or something. It would be a Normal Fighting Type. The Male ones are the ones you would like to have, that upon leveling it up while holding a Metal Coat evolves into Scarvet.
Scarvet, like Stantler is a hybrid between all sorts of deers being close to a reindeer but not fully?! Who knows! His antlers have turned into Blades. and he has grown several spikes to defend himself with. Scarvet takes on more Centaur like features which can often be pretty fierce warriors themselves. This allows Scarvet to learn moves like elemental punches, but also feel as a bit of a cavalier knight and now he has “guns” . His signature move will be called Buckshot, which will take the element of his ability, so dark, fairy or electric. A non contact physical move that deals elemental damage based on its users ability. The ability a particular Scarvet has can be seen by the colour on his eyes. Yellow for Electric, Pink for Fairy and Black for Dark. Buckshot in the anime would show a hand making a finger into a gun and then the Pokémon Blinks and elemental energy suddenly hits it’s target in the colour of the eye. It’s bladed horns are most definitely not from space!
Other moves it will learn are moves such as Thunder Punch, Foul Play, Play Rough, Horn Leech, Mega Horn, Horn Drill , Bullet Punch, Close Combat , Head Charge and Skull Bash and a few special moves like bullet seed, charge beam and other quasi military names reminding of weapons. Support moves like No Retreat and Sword Dance seem like great options for this Pokémon. While I know No Retreat is current Falinks signature move in later Generations these type of moves usually are given to newer Pokémon as well PLUS it gives me a chance to put a picture of Falinks here.. so Scarvet and me both win!
Pokédex Entries for John
Now that we have the Pokémon let’s think a bit about what he does. For one let’s make him the mascotte of this region because.. why not! Where the original Stantler was more of a pacifist that felled foes with trickery, these Stantlers will be more like John. “When Stanler’s existence was threatened by the hunt, it decided to make a stance against hunters… the harsh way as a result Stantler in this region is much more aggressive”. Something in that nature. Scarvet’s Dex entry would read in a vein like this: “Hardened by the flames of war this Pokémon has embraced Steel as it’s weapon. His muscles are so big that people often refer to them as guns, this Pokémon is quite the warmachine”.The other generations dex entry might read “Scarvet is a Pokémon that was used a lot in the last Pokémon War. While this Pokémon is not always friendly to the fleshy mammals known as humans, It will always offer it’s aid in a battle it feels is justified” In game you could find out a few more rumors about Scarvet. Mostly rumors about it’s eyes, three trainers will have spotted a Scarvet with an indication on what (post end game) region they might appear in the wild.
“I spotted a Scarvet in the mountains at night, It stared at me with Pitch black eyes as the night around it only seemed to get darker, it was drinking water from the skull of an unfortunate creature”one might say! Another would tell you about their encounter with Scarvet. I was being attacked by (Evil Team) While I was fishing by the lake, A Scarvet saved me and stared at me with it’s Yellow Eyes for a moment. I could have sworn I heard the sound of thunder from it’s hooves as it ran away again”. The final one might be someone close to the main character, a rival, your mother or someone like that. “I was on an afternoon walk through the forest when I met a Scarvet, it walked around me for a bit sniffing the food in my bag, it was playing with some Ribombee , you could see the fun in it’s pink eyes, as it frolicked about ”. Other lore would include Scarvet protecting weaker or wounded Pokémon, Scarvet fighting evil team members and potentially dying like Cubone’s mother. Yet it would also be very cruel to whatever becomes its prey, parading with that.
John’s Role
I think it is pretty safe to say, it is rather easy to determine John’s Pokémon’s combat role. He will be a Speedy physical sweeper that can come in three variants so it is hard to predict which one is coming in competitive. Electric Dark and Fairy stab should give you some pretty huge typing cover as well so it will be a pace setter as a Pokémon. It can be a Pokémon that works great for both playthroughs as well as competitive. I imagine Scarvet performing better in Single Battles because the guessing aspect of it’s bonuses comes more into play there. You might be able to take a thunder punch from Edgelord Scarvet, but Electrician Scarvet will be able to finish the job. It could see some competitive play.
In playthroughs this Pokémon would be a perfect all rounder to fill up a last slot of your party. You just find/breed the one with the ability you want and add it to your team to gain perfection. Well unless you are like me and build your team with a Fairy, Fighting, Steel core. He is there to make things faint in the end and he is very well equipped to do this. Easy to play for everyone and functioning as a bit of a crutch to see how much more damage STAB will exactly mean for you. Scarvet is beginner friendly but also fun to experiment with for the more advanced players now that abilities of Pokémon can be swapped a bit more easily.
And that is just like John, he has a competitive edge to him, often playing LAN matches, he is versatile in what he does but he is fascinated by combat above all. He is a guy that will leap in front of you to save you from some nasty blows, just like Scarvet is a great lead Pokémon. Yet he is also the person to get you into a fight because he is either being a knight a little too much.. or he just wants to see what his new weapons do (in Role Play situations, not real life). He is friendly to everyone though maybe a bit intimidating if you’d meet him on the street after dark.. but if you get to know him better you will have one heck of friend that really would do so much for you and can surprise you even after years. So that is how John would be a Pokémon! Thank you for all your support to this blog! I really hope you like this post!
My dearest little lights, another week came and went! While the blog still is quieter than it used to be this week, there has been a bit of an increase since last week so we are well on our way of establishing myself as a moth! Big things loom on the horizon as I have been trying and very much failing so far to make a live 2d model of myself! I might really need to hire someone for that! Or get a lot better at making a model! So far I haven’t even been able to really make shapes though! Anyway let’s check what happened last week!

I am still building supplies of content to make blogging a bit easier, I have a lot of stuff done already, like 5 other episodes of my Moemon Nuzlocke and four more Final Fantasy VI Rom Hack posts. They won’t all come out next week though but it offers me so much security! I am having a lot of fun making those posts! I am really doing what I want to do! I haven’t been in the mood to watch lots of anime recently, but I have continued watching Cowboy Bebop so a post on that will come out next week for sure! I might do another Zombie Land Saga episode as well! Slowly picking that up after my burnout! I have made some random topic content again, as I would play “Never Have I Ever” on some random website I found, and I will keep a promise to a Patron and turn them into a Pokémon! I am also telling you about another of my Favourite YouTube series.. this one has to do with cards! So yay! Content surplus! I only have to write the YouTube one still!
Camp Coconut Updates
The Coconuts have been nice and quiet! They have been cleaning up the island after the whole Mario Kart Race we had going on last week! The Woo Woo Fishy Coconut actually won that race and got a nice little trophy handed to it by King Coconut himself! They said it was the most beautiful day in their Coconut lives, which isn’t that surprising as they haven’t existed for too long! This little Coconut , a patron to the island, has since taken a bit of an ego! Fish and Dragon Koi’s are left everywhere for Sunny to clean up! It uses it to tell stories about great catches and always brings up the race results! The Island Guests seem to be loving the little drupe’s tales though!

Pinkie Away From Paradise
So I decided to rename this passage because Lockdown has been continued here! It’s dangerous to go outside.. stay in! Since I do have weaker lungs then most I have been quite reclusive last week! That pretty much means I have been glued to my keyboard. Aside from blogging we had a bit of an expository D&D and this monday we should have the story arc climax, I prepped a lot of stuff for that this week! I’ve also purchased Face Rig and some other software to help pursue my VTuber aspirations, currently looking into video editing software that is laptop friendly and not too pricey.. just to get me started and so I can dabble. Mallow gave me a great tip. Since I have a weak voice I probably need to look into text to speech! In between blogs and games I experiment with that kind of stuff!
I spend a fair bit of my time watching movies! I eat around 8:30 PM right now as a movie is on TV! Thus I have been watching a few movies! I watched my first ever Godfather movie , being Godfather 3… I.. .did not like it very much. I also watched Lethal Weapon 3 and 4, I liked those fine enough! The fourth one had some issues with it’s story being a bit forced though! I loved watching Stargate and Demolition Man. The absolute worst movie I saw was the “horror” movie called Mother! It is just strange for strange sake and there isn’t any rhyme or reason to it! Arceus what a slog! I kept hoping it would become good! I am planning to get a shower bath thingy so I can relax my muscles a bit more! I’ve been shopping for a sweet deal but haven’t ordered it yet! It’s sold out at many places and I really want a pink one!
I have also been watching a bunch of VTuber things and some rewatching Princess Peachie’s princess in Japan series, mostly while doing my Nuzlocke! (I play that without sound..which can give me a bit of trouble). That may have resulted in an unneeded death but at least I was hella entertained while I did this. I am not a big fan of how the songs of Gen III sound. The Pokémon Emerald, Ruby and Sapphire movie is to trumpetty! It sounds harsh and I don’t really enjoy it! I also use speed up a fair bit to make battles go faster which also ruins the music! So all the more reason to use speed up! Well at least until I become a Vtuber and can use those slow animations to read and interact with chat in some way shape or form! Not a lot going on socially for me last week as I have been a bit anxious here and there, but everything is A-Okay now!

Hotpot-San is a person I do not visit enough! She’s a bit out of my league in terms of depths quite often and has seen so many things I haven’t so mostly she leaves me scratching her head. It doesn’t help that she isn’t on WordPress but on something of her own design! However sometimes I do see her promote a post and I am immediately amazed. The reaction of “casuals” towards deeper anime is a thing… are they wrong?! Are they close minded? Decide for yourself and join the discussion!
I want to watch more genuinely romantic non lewd Yuri! I want to watch more Idol Girl shows.. I can either dream about finding a nice girlfriend or dream about becoming an idol! But what if I could do both at the same time?! With the newest Love Live spin off show I might be able to do the same. Space Whales made me put this anime on my list of anime I will want to watch…. I will forget I will forget for sure.. but maybe if I remember that there was this one show I wrote about wanting to see I can just browse back in my Paradise Weekly posts! If I don’t forget that as well… I really should have become an Elephant Kaijuman. My memory is great when it comes to dialogue and useless stuff.. but names go through me like a meal through a skeleton!
Iridium Eyes reviews a lot of anime that isn’t exactly on brand for this moth! Even Hikaru no Go which I picked up isn’t really my “brand” I do like it a lot.. but it isn’t exactly my brand of anime! One of these anime that never was on brand for me was Ghost in the Shell, I watched it after the Scar-Jo version and honestly… Nah the anime is still better, but I would not rewatch any time soon. Curtis points out some of the flaws of this beloved anime, while still talking about it very lovingly and I think that is a very good thing! We need to be able to see nuances and the flaws in our favourites just as much as we need to see the good in movies like The Room and Dragonbleeeeergh Evolu*vomiting Moth noises* … nope can’t say anything nice about that one.. regardless. Scott talks about the meaning of giving Anime numbered rankings, and how they are all subjective, I actually went and put a lengthy discussion answer on this , but subjects like these really fascinate me! I like these! I totally agree with what he says but I also think there is another side to this! My little lights! As you may have noticed.. or may not I have been using the term “Pinkie Plays” for my Let’s play style blogs! This one is titled Pinkie Played.. past tense! That is because this will be the format for my game reviews. I recently saw a let’s play of a game and I immediately fell in love with this game. It was a game called Monster Sanctuary. After completing the game… I am STILL in love with it. Oh Team 17 you made me one lucky moth.. I can destroy creatures and gather strength on my own! Happy days!
What is Monster Sanctuary?
Monster Sanctuary is a game published by Team 17, it was created by Moi Roi games and designer, Denis Sinner. If mister Sinner would fail as a game designer, he will always have a career in porn with a name like that. He might have to change the pronunciation of his first name a bit. Do I think he will ever need to go into porn?! Hell no! This game is whoops sitting meat. Scoring an 8.1 audience score and a 7.5 score on Metacritic with a very positive review rating on Steam, this game is sitting well. Myself would probably even rate it a smidge higher than the Audience score.. at an 8.6 or 8.7 or so. Monster collecting games in general review a bit lower than most of their peers because there is also a lot of hate for the genre. People who know this type of game isn’t for them to review it anyway in the hopes to burn it down and that is a shame. Because even if you aren’t a big Pokémon fan there is a lot to love here! With a 16 bit esthetic and the 2d exploratory platforming.. this is a monster collecting game like no other.
This game plays much more like Metroid than like Pokémon. Except there is no shooting. When you touch monsters, you engage in combat.. which is turn based and involves Monsters selecting their moves. These moves can either be magical or physical and belong to one of the four elements. (Air , Fire, Water and Earth). Some attacks can be neutral as well. Every enemy has a set of weaknesses and resistances you have to work around and explore. To a Pokémon fan it would feel as if 4 types aren’t enough but it is handled remarkably well.With very deep combat, that is also very easy and much more intuitive to grasp. Each monster can be examined before a combat round starts and weaknesses are always available to you.. so no need to learn all 101 monster’s typings and stats. This game makes collecting monsters more fun than in Pokémon. If you want to beat Pokémon you need to catch a decent team of 6, and while here you also battle with a squad of six, you are constantly encouraged to find the eggs of more monsters. That’s right, you do not capture monsters in this one.. you hatch them! You can gain eggs from random groups of monsters..by performing well in combat and using tactics and playing smart!
The reason why you need to capture more monsters is because there are plenty of monsters that offer you new ways to travel around the world. In the first area you might for example discover a small crevice you can’t fit through. Samus would use her Morphball to get through but since you do not have a fancy suit.. you will need to capture a Changeling that DOES morph you into a ball.. or cuter, a Rainbow Slime that can turn you into a slime. You might need a bird to hover to a treasure high above.. but your current bird can’t fly far enough. You might need to catch that derpy looking Dinosaur you saw flying in the other room.. but that one is hidden behind a switch with a lighting icon above it.. what monster do you need to activate THAT! While you can only train up 6 monsters at the same time you can travel with basically endless monsters so you can make sure you can use your favourite monsters to get past a certain obstacle. Wanna clean up . .you can always donate monsters to the army or bring some of the monsters you can not currently use to the farm. There are so many options!
What do you do in Monster Sanctuary?
In the game you take the role of a nameless Monster Keeper.. a Keeper is the word use for those who try to keep the Sanctuary safe by taming monsters. Humanity lives in a sheltered habitat that is called the Sanctuary and it’s many zones are inhabited by many monsters, that for the most part have been ..fairly friendly but recently the creatures have become a bit restless. As more Monsters of “Champion” Quality appear. It is the task of a Monster Keeper to defeat these Champion monsters before they can rile up the monster populus and make the area uninhabitable for humans. You play a boy or a girl, who is part of one of the four important bloodlines. There is the Bloodline of the Eagle, The Wolf, The Lion and the Toad. All belonging to a certain elemental bias. Such as the Eagle belonging to the Wind and Fire element. The Wolf of Water and Wind, the Lion of is Fire and Earth and the Toad is Earth and Water. I of course chose the toad.. why?! Well it’s a Toad that belongs to the grass element! That shall forever be my starter and my number 1.
The Journey starts with you traveling across the land , searching far and wide to find enough Champion monsters to increase your Keeper Rank so you can finally live up to your three rivals and your grandfather’s reputation. However you soon uncover that an evil organisation of Alchemists is trying to destroy the Monster Keepers. Performing all sorts of weird and unsanitary experiments with Alchemy. One name keeps popping up! Marduk, a leader of the Alchemist that supposedly has found a way to make himself immortal. Now he seems to have found a way to take away monsters that are bound to people and his motivations seem to be rooted deep in Monster Lore.. something evil is coming! You have to increase in rank faster than any Monster Keeper before you.. to stop whatever is hiding in the dark. Of course this is a retro style game so the story at times can feel a bit irrelevant.. but it is there and entertaining for those who choose to partake…but it is equally fun to go about and explore things on your own volition. Very little parts of the game are sealed behind linear progression, though you might wonder why you are hunting for a certain artifact in a new area if you do it all yourself.
The game counts 14 areas of which one works like a hub and safe house where you can shop, craft, get exposition and donate monsters to the army. Another one works as your post/game “bonus” content hub. Here you do things like challenging bosses you have defeated before to get greater rankings or fight against a series of challenging monster teams to see if you have truly mastered the game.. this area even has a room in which you can take your monster team online and battle other players. The other 12 areas are your basic Metroid like areas, in which you can find more monsters and sometimes items to explore terrain and overall find treasures and the likes. I only focussed on the story content part of the game and getting most of the monsters and I ended up putting about 30 hours in the game before reaching the end. I DID go out of my way to explore.. but I haven’t even scratched the surface off all the battle challenges, I have not done much of the postgame yet. This means the game for me is well worth it’s price of admission!
What is there to like about the game?
My response to the game is overwhelmingly positive. Let’s begin with the monster themselves. The games 101 monster count seems a bit lackluster at first, but when you realise that this game doesn’t really feature evolution that suddenly becomes a whole lot more impressive. Each monster is their unique thing.. except for the slimes there aren’t really any sprite swaps either. Only about 10 monsters evolve.. and in their cases it’s more like special ways to get a new monster, that require a specific monster and an item to create a new monster. Their designs can radically change so it really feels like there are 101 truly unique monsters. Later in the game you unlock the ability to swap monsters towards either the light or the dark. While it doesn’t change their ability a Dark Shifted Monk has significantly different stats than a Light Shifted Monk. So every monster has 3 slight variations. Unlike Pokémon their levelup path isn’t set either.. in this game you can choose skill trees.
Every monster in the game has four Skill trees, some with more abilities than others, but basically you choose how your Catzerker will develop. Do you let him focus on Neutral damage with a lot of points invested in getting more and more powerful critical hits? Or do you want him to use his Fire and Wind abilities to take advantage of enemies that are weak to that. Perhaps you want your Spirit Toad to be focussed on AoE Attacks with the chance to poison your enemies as you go.. or perhaps like me you want to build him like a completely support focussed tank, that can buff as he heals and heals as he buffs. Are these choices not working out for you? Resetting their skills costs next to nothing! Once a monster reaches the max level of 40, they get an ultimate and you can choose from three of them. This leads to one of this game’s greatests boons! All the monsters feel like YOUR unique monsters. Yes there are Meta’s you can look up, yes some builds will work better than others.. but you can build your own challenge level here and my Toad isn’t exactly like any other Toad.
This of course also leads to a lot of depth in combat,which is reflected by the many areas of the game. Each of the twelve zones tend to have about two subzones. For example in the great forest you first encounter a lot of woodland critters like monsters, bugs, bears and plant like creatures. More often than not they have a fire weakness, though there is some diversity, a bias can definitely be sensed. The second part of the woods is overrun by Goblins who all are strong against magic but weak against physical attacks. Since each combat sequence sends out three monsters, you find you’ll have to swap out members semi regularly if you want to make it far. Luckily the game offers an easy level up token, that allows you to add levels to weaker monsters, for almost no money.. the downside to this token, you can’t use it to level higher than one level below your highest rank monster. If your highest monster is max level.. and it gains enough experience.. that is not wasted.. instead that monster now produces level-up tokens to save you from grinding. The diversity in the world, the leveling and the biodiversity in this game all come together. Which makes everything feel unique.
The game is also very generous with rewards, there are lots of secrets for you to explore! Remember that one room you could not enter before because you had no monster that could activate a pressure Switch?! Now you can.. and the reward in the chest is better if you get it at this level then later on. However if you choose to press on that item you find can later be upgraded to still be a viable find! Everything in this game oozes freedom. There are completely optional areas, but going there offers you some of the best gear. There are even secrets upon secrets which for example lead you to unique monsters such as the Team 17 iconic Worms to be added to your team who have skill trees that mimic the feeling of the little crawlers. There are plenty of cool references to the material the game maker “borrowed” from as well to show that this is a game made out of love! And you can play it your way!
What is there to dislike?
Like any game this one doesn’t escape having a few downsides though. The most prominent one is the “loot chance” aspect of finding an egg. Say you discover a monster that can cut through vines.. by performing well you get a higher star rating.. the higher the star rating the higher the chance is to get a rare item. Eggs always fall in this slot.. but many monsters also drop something else. So unless you get a five star rating (which guarantees a rare drop) you getting a monster is already locked behind TWO RNG checks. To alleviate this a lot of monsters have overlapping abilities. Catzerker can cut the vines and destroy hidden walls, but Magmapillar can Burn the vines and light torches. So overall progress is never locked away to harshly behind RNG but later on you will encounter elemental switches at hard to reach places. While my Frost-Slime can activate Ice switches it might not be able to hit a remote one.. because you need a monster whose “activate ice switches” requires that trigger to be projectile based. There is no way to find out what variant a monster has until you catch it and if they don’t drop their egg due to RNG things can feel a bit frustrating.
A major grip I had with this game was not being able to put waymarkers on my map! It feels like the SNES metroid map, where you just have to remember that one room had no light and that the other room has a strange keyhole. On the one hand this really sells the classic vibe and in a way I like it but on the other hand.. since the map is so big that there is not a single screenshot of the entire explored map out there you can understand it might be kind of frustrating if you remember you encountered a room somewhere you can solve now.. but for the live of you , you can’t remember where. I have a good memory when it comes to those things, and since the areas look diverse enough it never feels atrocious but a quick reminder at times would have been nice. The game at times lacks those quality of life improvements modern games have.. I think just to be retro. For example the final boss is a two tiered fight.. if you lose the second you’ll have to repeat the first and since I work with a stall team that for me was a 20 minute fight I had to do over, I had no trouble beating it. It just took time.
Which brings me to the final gripe I have with this game and that is the level of Tedium at later levels. This game HAS to be played relying on buffs and debuffs, if you focus on assault alone the enemy will debuff the heck out of you and it will feel like you are taking down a dragon with a potato peeler. While I had debuffers in the Underworld my debuff removers were weak to the enemies typing so I could not use them all that much.. which means in some fights my damage was reduced by 25% six times over or so.. When I got that specific monster (a spider that ensnares you with web) he became a staple in my team as well and I debuffed the heck out of enemies.. but combat can feel really slow. The game has a combo system.. the third attacker deals the most damage, and the first two build up your multiplier.. however if you have to switch because you are debuffed into infinity you also nerf your non impaired team members. While the game doesn’t punish you with DEATH too often, it does with a lot of delays.
So is it good?!
Overall it didn’t really kill my joy for playing this game, I loved it in the end and already want a sequel! This game is very dear to me! I really enjoyed the time I spent with my monsters and have formed a bond with them. The combination of Pokémon and Meteoroid works super well and I would love to see more things in this universe. There is a lot of lore about every monster, like every “pokédex” entry is four or so pages long filled with much more text than in Pokémon, you can learn about their history and their current day use.. these monsters are very concrete and well balanced out.. every monster feels different and you can make it stand out from its peers! Adding platformer gameplay to that just made it more fun to me.
It does make the mistake of going retro, just a bit to much in parts but for me as a retro gamer that is more of a minor annoyance something I have to do to get to the good stuff.. but the good stuff is worth it several times over, even if a sequel would not improve anything I would still buy it without a second thought.. and retro games all had that tedium or that sense of annoyance about them as well. It is just a shame that I do see this game take a lot quality of life improvements then skimping out on others. Perhaps if they had more static save points and leaned more into the retro I would be less upset.. which is kind of weird.. I would be less vexxed if the game was less good. Maybe I am just kind of sad I nearly got my perfect game.. and it JUST missed out on that. Kind of like getting that perfect gift for christmas.. the watch you want but there is this one tiny scratch you barely notice yet it gets under your skin! Regardless of that scratch though you should most certainly pick this game up!

Yo Little Lights! It is time for me to watch anime again! I don’t know yet how to incorporate other anime in my blogging routine, but I am actually creating a pretty big supply of blogs, so expect them to return soon! In what shape way or form will remain the question! Today however we will continue with Zombie Land Saga! I will react to it as I watch! So let’s hope we will have a lot of fun like we did last week.
Idol Noises
The episode starts, with another pretty delicious recap! I do like text density into something silly like this. We hear more about the rap and like the episode we begin with another briefing of the manager. Which is about as annoying as you expect. He does give everyone an applause though so I don’t want to turn his head into mush as I kill him with my laser beams.. I just want to slap him in the face for shouting at Sakura like he does in the first five minutes, so she doesn’t get too full of herself after he complimented her.. that’s kinda cruel though! Like giving a dog a biscuit for being a good boy and then shouting at it for eating the cookie quickly! I don’t like it! He also scares number six.. whose name still doesn’t linger for me but perhaps as we go along!
The plot of this episode seems to be a Guerilla Live. Which is like a Flash Mob..for Idol Girls.. where you don’t tell anyone what you are doing and just try to gather a crowd. It reminded me of that scene in Now You See Me 2 , where the Four Horsemen do a magic show in several locations in London, I love that movie! Sakura is afraid the police might stop them but Saki waves her arm and tells her she won’t be scared of some pigs! Making all sorts of squishy rotting noises as her arm flails.. that is kind of a neat touch! We also learn that Junko has experience as a Solo artist.. the manager insults her by calling her a loner. Jeez… This guy!
Luckily he isn’t too much in the next scene! I finally found out the name of my beloved number 6! Lily! So cute! The group trains together but has no direction so Lily tells them they need a leader. Saki steps up and no one opposes her, and a name has to be chosen. Lily wants to name everyone after her while Saki wants a super edgy name! I really like that when she screams her voice seems to make bike noises. Much like that one episode in South Park.. but with actual Motor noises. It really shows you her origin and this is done repeatedly throughout, several characters, they all speak a bit .. extreme showing us who they are even if you don’t know them too well! I like choices like that. Especially in an idol girls scenario! Like I would be the moth girl. .if I was an idol girl! something with lamps or kaiju would happen! This is the way!
The Rise of Franchouchou
The naming skit continues with everyone pitching in showing their personality a lot.. Junko and Ai being much more in the background then Lily, Number 5, Saki and Sakura. Even Tae-Chan comes in and meddles with it.. mostly to eat the magic marker ! Sakura thinking eating pens is bad for you rips it out of Tae-Chan’s hands and it lands in Junko’s hands, so she is pestered by Tae-Chan again. Good , recurring jokes like this give it a bit of group dynamic. Look at Holo-Live EN. Kiara is into Cali and Gura and Amelia have this whole thing going on. Ina does more of her own thing..and while that is semi scripted it also makes them feel like a real group of friends with interaction dynamics. That happens here as well. It’s still in infancy.. but it is definitely there. Sakura is being consulted for a name and she says the name should be something like Framboise or Frangipane and gets stuck on Fran.. when suddenly Tae-Chan begins sneezing due to sucking out ink from the pan. Lily thinks it’s more than just sneezing she is actually pitching in and thus the name Franchouchou comes up! I love that name! I also love how the actual zombie took part in naming it!
Number five is revealed as Yugiri .. well at least to me! The name never stuck until the next scene for me.. which vastly confused me! It starts out with the girls going to practice a song and a dance for the Guerilla Live but no one has experience except for the two girls who aren’t motivated. The other girls are one one of those spinny playground rides I may have thrown up in once or twice.. you know one with a wheel that you turn like in the Disney Teacups and it makes the thing go round and round but just the teacup. Sakura gets launched out of it thinking about her idol experience and flies towards the sky crashing in the earth. She tells everyone she’s ready to practice again and will work hard and then she is slapped in the face by Yugiri who tells her not to give up and practice. Sakura tells her she is about to say that but everyone sides with Yugiri as if Sakura didn’t say anything of the likes. Did she dislocate her jaw or something from the crash and does everyone here do something else? I don’t get it!
The next scene is probably my least favorite scene and it’s about Ai and Junko not wanting to participate in all of this because it all seems so half-assed. I get that.. somewhere.. but at the same time.. it’s not like there is anything else to do and it’s not like they had issues being on stage with the awkward rap battle thing.. they looked bummed but they did it! So I don’t get why they are not invested here.. not really at least. I guess some of it may be idol pressure and perfectionism but they are dead and very much aware of it as per last episode. The manager actually gives them a great speech that he did not resurrect them for them to stay dead, the other girls are trying to live! I like that speech.. a lot.. but at the same time it kind of feels like he should not need to do that. It feels a bit odd in their situation with literally nothing else to do! That same perfection would make them not want to half ass this?!
The First Idol Song
The second half of the episode contains much less events as we move towards the Guerilla event. The girls finally get ready to sing their first idol song! Of course it is performed super tiny and the idol girl costumes are missing. I like how the build up is so slow in this series, we really see them become idols from the very bottom! The song is called Mazame RETURNER. While it isn’t as sugary as I would have liked to see I guess this makes sense as an amalgamation. The girls even get their weird 3d animation dance you see in a lot of Idol Girl anime! For the first time it feels like an actual idol show! That being said the 3d animation feels kind of laggy at times. As if I am watching a Bowling Alley Strike Animation. It takes me a bit out of it.. but because they are zombies it also feels .. somewhat accurate. I love how Tae-Chan is also being part of it and participating.. did she actually kind of awaken but not really?! She does react to the beat and the more tricky dances so there is something going on.
The act begins fairly well and the dance is cute! I really like the shuffling animation all the girls make.. but then Lily crashes into Sakura again and she falls. Since she is much younger Sakura is worried about her and forgets about the act. Thus the audience always walks. Junko and Ai watch this unfold and you can see them cringe at these rookie mistakes. As Lily gets up Sakura comes to a very text heavy part but seeing her audience walk away causes her to get so flustered that she completely loses focus and forgets her lines. Just as things seem to get worse and worse, Junko and Ai join the group and help them finish the song. While everyone is walking off they get an audience of one single girl who is absolutely loving it and that makes this worth it for them… and I LOVE that message. You can see the girl having such a great time and that is enough reason for these girls to continue. That is also a big goal for me! Even if just a single person enjoys your content that be it a song , a video or whatever that will be worth it. It really was such a heartwarming scene! Seeing Saki go to the kid and tell her, don’t worry next time we will do better. Super cute.
The epilogue was uneventful and mostly involved Ai-Chan and Junko talking about liking being an idol! The other girls had a few cute moments as well but it’s mostly those two the focus is on.. and again.. I am not sure if I like how reserved they are. A reveal at the end however might make it all a bit more interesting. It seems that Ai is/was part of that idol group that Sakura so adored but can’t really remember! I am not sure if that is correct but that’s what it seems like. Her reservations seem to originate from having to start up all over again..which I can see would be demotivating… however I still think it makes little sense from where they are currently at.. It’s not like there is anything else for them to do and that has been established. Also why did they get bathrobes?! The stinky question I had has been answered though! So props to them! I had a blast again!
Hello again little lights! Did you know Moth’s love beer and bananas?! No that doesn’t have to do anything with today’s story I just wanted to say it! Wait does that mean I am drunk all the time?! I don’t want to rip off Irina! Maybe she is a moth… then again.. she could just be Russian. Lamp! Uhm! Anyway it is time to rewrite Anime. What If Ash was a girl was one of more popular SEO things.. so I decided to pick it up again, as I strive for being a Moth VTuber. Let’s take another look at this story from the eyes of a Moth VTuber.. from far above.. and a little more impatient.. so rather than a series we will cover the entire first season in a single episode.
From Ash to Ashley
Ash is a late 90’s anime character that functions a bit as a blank slate. He is the son of Delia and Ketchum and (unknown father) I am not even sure if he is a Ketchum or she started using her maiden name again. What we DO know about Ash father.. is that he is a Pokémon Trainer who to this day wanders the world to be a Pokémon Master. However since he never came up we can assume his achievements are.. nothing to write home about. Travelling without getting results. Thus Ash is almost a carbon copy of his father.. at least for season 1. In the late 90’s the boy character would be a copy of the father while the girl character is a copy of her mother.. with a twist here and there.. and so we can establish a good baseline for Ashley! Ashley would be a very different person than Ash.. as she would more likely be much more like Delia than the father. Which will result in some interesting changes in this journey. Delia having a more educative mind would mean Ashley would be a bit more studious and way less rebellious. Since the Ketchum household does not have a man of the house it would also mean professor Oak would probably have a much closer connection to Ashley! In the pictures we see him take care of Delia in her husband’s absence so with no man there that offer would extend to Ashley!
This will lead to Ashley being much more knowledgeable about Pokémon from the get go but also a lot less brash.. It will also lead to Ashley not having a Pikachu as her starter. As a result of her more girly upbringing she would have watched the study program her mom would recommend , rather than a battle show that makes Ash toss his Alarm clock to shreds. Ashley being like Delia much likely has all sorts of plushies around to grab instead.. plus Delia being closer to her daughter would make sure she would wake up in time.. as well as Ashley herself having set the Alarm way earlier…after packing plenty of underwear. Ashley would arrive at professor Oak on time, knowing a lot more about what it would take to become a Pokémon master.. researching like her mentor. Thus she would pick Bulbasaur as her starter.. naming it Flora.. because those who don’t nickname their Pokémon are terrible people! Like naming your dog, dog! Since she is more like Delia, she takes care of her stuff better. Naming her plushies and all that, which she will also do with her Pokémon.
Note: The Ashley Models are actually based on Episodes off Ash Crossdressing. He does this about four times in the entire series .. I simply recolored to match Delia more closely
Bye Bye Butterfree
Ashley would set off on her journey and like Ash encounter the spearow and pidges. However.. since Ashley has always been protected she lacks Ash bravery and boldness. Instead she sees a flying Pokémon and it is super effective against her Bulbasaur, she would not dare to fight. At one point she would just flee from an angry looking Spearow and run away screaming. This would lead her to meet up to Misty who gets her Tsundere mode activated because Ashley is scaring away the fish. The two begin to talk and Ashley calms down. Seeing a girl in a dress with all her underwear wrapped in plastic, rubber kitchen gloves and who knows what else in her backpack makes Misty be curious how this girl would be a trainer. She seems more like a Housewife. Hearing Misty talk about water Pokémon would interest Ashley however.. those are weak against her Flora, she could catch one of those. Misty teaches her how to fish and the two bond a bit. Misty has a bit of a youngest sister complex.. but this girl makes her feel like an older sister a bit. She decided to teach the girl her ways and travel together until she reaches Cerulean city.. with Ashley learning to catch a Pokémon and catching a Poliwag.. naming it Dewdrop.Misty reveals her Staryu earlier. Since no Pokémon are hurt the pair doesn’t go to the Pokécenter. Team Rockets raids the Pokémon Center and gets away. Since the pair of Misty and Ashley had no urgency they would arrive later, only seeing another successful rate by Team Rocket.
Passing through town Ashley would pick up a strange yellow stone, she has no idea what it is.. and it seems to have fallen from the sky. Something seems to be inside it, this will come into play later and assures we can keep Team Rocket an element in the story. They go to the police office to turn it in but Jenny refuses to take it.. it’s just a stone. Ashley calls up Oak and tells her she is in Viridian city like Ash did.. Professor Oak tells her it looks like amber. The next day Misty and Ashley travel into viridian forest and encounter Ash caterpie like usual.. but Ashley is a girly girl.. so she is scared of bugs! They run away and Caterpie feels a bit sad. No Caterpie means no food to distract Pidgeotto.. so no Pidgeotto either. Ashley does notice though there are a lot of flying Pokémon.. so in the Viridian forest she actually finds.. a Pikachu.. they are there and Ashley constantly has encountered so many flying types would want something to deal with that. Ashley’s Pokémon will be Gender swapped from the ones Ash will have, so all her Pokémon so far are female. She does manage to catch a Pikachu which she names Amber.. after that weird yellow stone. Ashley would tend to groom her Pokémon a bit.. dress them up, because as per Delia’s advise.. she carries WAAAAAY to much stuff. Rather than facing the Samurai in Viridian forest, here the pair will encounter Team Rocket for the first time. They want that stone back. Knowing they are Criminals Misty refuses.. even though Ashley wants to avoid conflict.. the pair get in a fight and using her new Pikachu , Ashley wins her first battle.. Less convincingly so though! Team Rocket then plans to get the Old Amber from Ashley for their boss.
Note: In Pokémon Games it is a semi tradition that female trainers have female Pokémon, this only came into play later.. but since Ashley nicknames Pokémon and grooms them it comes into play earlier. Also girly Pokémon were already shown in the series hence the decision
A Sweeter Brock
With a team like Poliwag and Flora you would think Ashley would not lose to Brock.. however since she was afraid to battle her pokémon had no battle experience causing her first loss. Flint helps her train up her Pokémon and discover some battle spirit along with Misty trying to help as a training partner. Misty already reveals her Starmie.. allowing Flora and Amber to train against it.. unlike Ash , Ashley DOES win her first gym badge legit on her second try.. Brock sees her growth and that same desire he had when with Ash would occur. He would join them on their journey.. trying to seduce Ashley a bit but Misty harshly puts him under control.. like she normally does. Traveling with two girls Brock’s demeanour would be a bit less Casanova and instead make the seduction a bit more subtle. Since Ashley is knowledgeable , Brock doesn’t need to be the exposition canon he is in the original, nor does he have to be the constant chef. He needs a bit of an alternate function so instead of cooking, he actually makes pastries.. making actual Jelly filled Donuts and of course still his Pokésnacks. He also functions a bit like a motivator for Ashley.. he often tries to defend the party but will often get taken down forcing Ashley to step in..so in a way he is like.. pastry chef Krillin.. in terms of roles.
During the next part for a while there won’t be any major changes in the story. The only difference is that in the fight between Ashley and Misty.. which in the original got interrupted by Team Rocket, is already over by the time they step in. Ashley knows Misty well and she already has more insight in her team and with Delia’s character evaluating abilities she easily outstratgesises the impatient Tsundere girl.. slowly we see Ashley come to enjoy battles more. Mostly though when she knows she can win! Team Rocket gets defeated as well like always. The Poké Tech university episode we will retcon as the introduction of levels in the anime was retconned anyway! Instead they encounter a school where they play Pokémon Card battles.. those cards had levels and just would be a sport of its own! Cross Promotion to sell other media seems like a good pokémon thing as well. Everything at the school got retconned later so might as well get some mileage out of it.
Next we get to the point where Ash caught his Starters.. however there is a problem. Squirtle and Bulbasaur in particular are redundant to Ashley’s team.. so instead all three of our heroes get one each. Brock catches the Bulbasaur using his Zubat, Misty catches the Squirtle as it’s a water Pokémon and Ashley gets the Charmander. Ashley is a lot more careful with her catches so she does not hit her catching limit as fast as Ash. However during the Gary encounter it is revealed she has a major crush on Gary.. who in return has no respect for her. During the first part she would not have met him. Ash saw Gary leaving and he was late and live far away. So Gary must have been kind of late as well.. thus not have an encounter with Ashley early on.. at least he would not have picked a starter yet. Because she was there a lot in his youth he keeps thinking of her like an annoying little cousin and being a total jerk like he normally would. “Smell you later” makes Ashley think he likes her perfume and she is in some heavy denial, looking up to Gary and his giant Krabby she goes looking for her own.. Tiny Krabby is caught but only after seeing Gary’s first.. Ashley, missing two Pokémon however still has room in her team so Krabby stays in the party.
A Better Trainer
The whole “No Thunderstone” event in the third gym doesn’t happen. Ashley would not use a Pikachu against Lieutenant Surge anyway, her electric attacks are not effective. Instead she is worried about this battle, and Brock offers to trade his Geodude for her Krabby, (since the trade on the SS Anne won’t happen because there is no Butterfree) she agrees but like Ash with his Butterfree decides to trade it back and face the gym with her very own Pokémon. She already got attached to Ruby. Here we see her take an Ash-like Strategy for the first time, making Poliwag hypnosis Surge Magnemite and having Charmander take it down afterwards. (Which is super effective, because Steel typing would be a thing even if it’s not discovered yet) The second fight is Bulbasaur versus Raichu and using Leech Seed, Ashley wins this battle. .realising that Surge quickly evolved Raichu will lack speed. She wins her third badge and Poliwag evolves into Poliwhirl. One major Retcon on the SS Anne event i would like to make is that James isn’t as cruel to his Magikarp.. it is later established that he is such a sweet guy to his pokémon even if they aren’t strong enough. He doesn’t buy the Magikarp at all because him having a Gyarados would kind of be overpowered. Instead he spends his money on trading cards and gets a “rare” card.. that is just a sticker taped over a Magikarp. The rest of this part happens as per usual.
Now events won’t change until the Sabrina gym, though Brock and Misty begin to comment on Ashley not catching a sixth Pokémon. Ashley however says she doesn’t want to send a Pokémon to someone else unless she absolutely needs to .. she won’t catch a Pokémon in vain and then have it not of use to her! Once again taking more after Delia. The Sabrina fight would see Ashley overwhelmed, however.. being the knowledgeable type and an understudy of Oak she knows that getting a Ghost is kind of useless.. after all the only ghost type here is weak to Psychic. Instead she discovers the laughing trick herself. She sends in Krabby and Sabrina chuckles at it’s size and Kadabra chuckles as well. Ashley will let Krabby make funny faces and foam beards and beat Sabrina with it! Brock remarks that Ashley has super sharp training instincts..(much like Ash does) but also has some serious knowledge and ghost type wasn’t good in her time! Also.. we are not making how often she dies into a meme! So no getting crushed to death my a chandelier!
Different but the Same
From here on out we see mostly small changes or seemingly small. Ashley does catch the Primeape like Ash does, the cap Primeape stole however is in her bag! Her father left the hat, and she keeps it with her a lucky charm of sorts. Which means Primeape can actually keep the hat this time around. The Erika Badge is where Ash crossdresses for the first time.. however there is no need now, this means no Rocket intervention in the fight , but Ashley struggles a bit more due to not having anything that is effective against the Grass trainer other than Charmander.. which she did nickname Fresa by the way. Krabby was named Ruby and Primeape she named Captain. Captain helps her a lot in this fight as it is neutral against the Celladon city Gym Leader, while most her pokémon are ineffective. She really wants a flying type.. and maybe a Rock type to face ice and bug pokémon better as well and of course flying.
Why did I mention the nicknames? Because he liked the cap so much or she in this case. Why do I bring these nicknames up now? Because this is the point where Ash gave away Primeape his second pokémon, Ashley however never had a Butterfree to give away… and she won’t give up Primeape either.. since she nicknames everything she is even more bonded to her Pokémon so she can’t give it up.. Also there aren’t that many fighting Pokemon and she would know! Rather than leaving Primeape at the P1 challenge right now she promises that once they win the Pokémon League they will do this together! Primeape wanting her to be part of that agrees. Captain stays! So will all her Pokémon.
Ashley catches Muk and like Ash finds it smelling nasty.. However after learning Koga is the next gym leader she keeps it on the team, Nicknaming it Amethyst, she sends Ruby to the professor for now.. but will be seen swapping Pokémon out a lot more than Ash so none of her Pokémon would feel neglected.. she would wear a little mask to interact with Muk though. Most other events would stay the same except for some Pokémon choices. Ashley instead of Tauros catches a Chansey which she names Fabergé in the Safari zone and an additional one to send to her mom to help her with household chores. Now that she is gone she wants to provide help for her mother! Much like Mr Mime did in the original.. but Ashley’s mind would go towards this a bit sooner. No insane amount of Tauros though. No Tauros what so ever instead when Ash fails to catch the Snorlax.. Ashley succeeds and she replaces the Muk slot with it. She names it Moon. Why does she catch an original owned pokémon?.. It’s not owned this time.. and now having a Bulbasaur , A Pikachu, A Poliwhirl, an Old Amber and a Snorlax you might see where I am going.. Ashley’s team will evolve towards being more of a team that resembles Manga Red’s .. because the two have a more strategic mindset and it is less starter heavy, making them seem less OP and her more like a real trainer.
Ashley’s Charmander evolves and it begins to disobey her. Unlike Ash this means she doesn’t keep it on her team, she has a stern talk to it.. taking a bit from Misty’s teachings and just sends it to Professor Oak telling it to come back once it listens to her or it won’t battle anymore. She then takes back the Krabby since the next battle will be Blaine. The Togepi thing happens like in the anime.. but Ashley feels really upset Togepi chose Misty feeling something is wrong with her. She finds solace in her own Pokémon strengthening their bond. Nothing changes until the Blaine fight.. on Cinnabar Island Ashley would revive the Old Amber into Aerodactyl.. to stop Team Rocket from ever bothering her again. She names the pokemon Marble. Marble replaces Flora for the next fight while asking Flora to talk to Fresa at Oak’s. With Ashley swapping Pokémon in and out the feeling arises that everyone is more a part of her team all of them come with her on the journey.
Like No One Ever Was
Ashley completely washes Blaine away and is beginning to win easier and easier, showing how much she has grown. After getting troubled by Jigglypuff again, Ashley actually catches it, setting a trap for it while wearing Earplugs. She is like her mother and wants to take care of it and the Jigglypuff clearly feels neglected. She can’t let that go so she goes out of the way for Jigglypuff to be included. She names it Sir Good Knight (as Jigglypuff Originally was a girl and all Pokémon get get swapped) and sets it to professor Oak for him to use it to tuck her Pokémon in. Up until the Viridian gym battle we see no changes and even here there are very little changes. Team Rocket Battles Ashley and they are defeated as per usual.. however.. here Team Rocket is defeated for good! As we see them blast off again leaving the badge.. they fall into the Police station of the Jenny where they robbed the Pokécenter first, they are put in jail and never return to the show again.
The Pokémon League starts the same, and most events that happen beforehand would take place in a very similar fashion.. again just with some minor battle variants. Gary would win and so would Ashley.. this time Ruby the Krabby evolves after ACTUALLY getting experience and it makes sense that it dominates the fight as Ashley actually trained it up pretty nicely! Ashley wins her second and third round without much trouble much like Ash and in the fourth round we see Gary get eliminated like he normally would. The bellsprout fight happens as per Usual except Ashley now Actually has a bond with Muk so it makes more sense.
Ashley asks Gary to cheer her on.. but he tells her he doesn’t have time to see losers lose, or something else Gary likes.. Ashley gives up her toxic crush on Gary but has trouble focusing on her battle with Ritchie. A mirror match, in teams happens in the fact that both use their Pikachu with Ritchie’s one coming on top. In the end due to a swapping error on Ashley’s behalf due to feeling so hurt by how cruel Gary was she sends off Fresa the disobedient Charmeleon having taken the wrong Pokéball from Oak wanting to get Captain or Snorlax or whomever. Charmeleon sees his master is heart broken and realises she will be more sad if she loses. She remembers being rescued by Ashley and how much she loved it .. realising how much a brat it had become Charmeleon evolves into Charizard and beats Richie’s Pokemon. Ashley moved to the final 8.
Captain, Moon, Flora, , Fresa, Amethyst and Marble would carry her into the final four! Ruby, Amber, Dewdrop Fabergé and even Sir Good Knight would carry her to the final. A parcel would be delivered to her.. from an unknown sender. A cap much like Captain has.. but girlier.. made to fit her sits in a parcel, with underneath it a Waterstone to evolve Dewdrop into Poliwrath. Did her father send this?! Is he somewhere in the audience?! As Ashley walks into the arena for one final match we skip forward in time leaving the ending ambiguous. Three friends are walking on a road that splits into four other roads.
Everyone holds and it seems like everyone is walking a different route. We don’t see dialogue… All we see is a close up of Togepi crying as Misty is strolling down a route by herself. We then hear footsteps catch up. Ashley joins her best friend telling that even though the journey may be over there are plenty of elements in the pokémon world left to uncover, she has heard that in some far away regions people do shows with their pokémon. She also has heard about a region called Johto so maybe she could try the gym leader challenge there.. maybe she’ll win …. before it is revealed if she will say “This Time” or “Again” All her Pokémon burst from their Pokeball to tackle hug her! Showing us she won’t just give them up.. A hand reaches out to pick her up and it’s Brock. “Whatever our next adventure will be… we will do it together” An ending card would reveal some next generation pokémon!

All I want for 2021 is…… A Thousand Dollar Plushie!
So you all know I like plushies right? Turning into a Kaijuman did not stop me from loving soft fluffy animals.. but Japan Trend Store usually doesn’t have a lot of them.. so when I was browsing and encountered this one.. I was really intrigued! I really wanted to hug this thing… and battle it to the death..but mostly hug…after I killed it?! No! Behave! You are a nice Kaijuman! Regardless.. it is a nice plushie! Why would I want a thousand dollar plushie you might ask?! Well It’s made by Steiff! Steiff is like “THE” brand for Teddy Bears and those things only go up in value. So rather than seeing it as a plushie you can see it as an investment in Mohair and stuffing! And with only 1954 made .. I could actually kill 1953 .. and hug one and make my investment worth it!
Why were they made in 1954 made? Well that is the year in which Godzilla first was seen. That’s right he is a fair bit older than most of us.. In 2014 Steiff made this toy to commemorate his 60th anniversary. Coming in at 50 centimeter it will also look like a Kaiju compared to most of my plushies and if I get some Lego’s I can build a city and let my thousand Dollar Toy destroy the city! RAWR….CRASH..STOMP! .. WIND BLAST.. wait now I am destroying my own lego city! Oh well! guess Zilly and I are nakama in being destroyers now! Smash! Just look at it’s cute face! It looks so fluffy! So if you want me to come destroy your toy.. buy this for yourself! As long as you don’t live in a tiny house you should be fine and we can hang out afterwards!
Okay so I might also want ……… a Pineapple Scented Lamp
If you are a bit like me you’ll often sniff your lamp in melancholy! “Why can’t my lamp smell like a Pineapple?!” It is such a shame because I find myself close to lamps a lot lately. Yet they all kind of smell like plastic! How am I supposed to get that tropical island feeling from that?! Well luckily the clever scientists made a thingy just for me! That is right the Pineapple Scented Lamp is here! No I am not talking about one of those lamps you add oil to! I tried those but they aren’t very lampy! Oftenly I over oil and one of those oil bubbles sucked into that little nozzle thing and the thing barely works after unless you clean it for hours! This one is different! With just glass and Paraffin fragrance there isn’t too much to hold you from admiring your lamp in full glory! It will set you back €32,- or $39,- which is a bit pricey for a Lamp that seems to be able to “run out” but these clever people of Japan have thought of a solution for that!
You see.. the light is not just a cutesy light! It also features a beautiful starry Cityscape as a pattern! All lights look purple and cute when extinguished but when activated with the power of two CR2032 Batteries your scene comes to live in beautiful colours. There are three scents we can purchase. Raspberry, which colours your night sky in a beautiful sunset purple and pink.. then there is the Citrus scent.. which colours the sky orange and yellow, like a sunset on the Spanish Orchards. And then there is the Pineapple Scented one.. which turns the sky Yellow and Green…. and now all of you naysayers will wonder.. V-Pinkie, the sky isn’t green! Well it is on Namek! Most of us Kaijumans can go into space you know.. though I really would need help from Elon… regardless green skies do exist.. like the Aurora Borealis that is green as well! I bet it would really be nice to smell pineapples in the regions where you can see it too! It doesn’t grow on trees there! All in all.. it might be worth the money and after it is done you can smash the lamp on the ground real hard! HEHEHEHE! Bye bye little city HEHEHEHE!

So even the non Virtual me would have liked this.. but I love it even more! I genuinely and truly do think these would look amazing as well decorations in my bedroom. Plus I could use a bit of a night light as I am pretty blind in the dark… that MUST be why I like Lamps so much! Anyway this Pokémon LED lights look cute as a button! With five varieties to choose from you can truly catch them all… though it is a bit of a shame that two of these are Pikachu! *Sigh* Merchandise caters so much to the normies.. what great Pokémon like Lampent and Chandelure! I think they would have made great wall lights! It’s not like I am asking for hard stuff like Xuriktree! But at least we get Mimikyu and Gengar.. I can vibe with those so those would be the first two I would get as well.. and lucky me they are the cheapest as well.
Coming in at 51 dollars these are quite adorable! And you can get the set of all five for like 256 dollars.. which is like a 10 ish dollar discount. Since the Pikachu’s and Eevee’s cost extra. … Hmmm paying extra to be basic..the horror! At least when you get them all you don’t pay extra for the crowd favourites.. so I guess that is the only way I would buy those…is that smart marketing? I am not sure! I also wonder why Mimikyu is the only one that has eyes! I get why a shiny ghost night light SHOULD NOT have eyes.. so I go understand why Gengar doesn’t have eyes.. and the eyes on Mimikyu’s fake head aren’t there.. but those aren’t his real eyes! It’s the tiny ones we see down below! Well… I want the one with eyes the most so I guess I will go for the Mimku one!
Oh and I also want…. One Piece Nico Robin Sunglasses
This one is on my wishlist because I find it comically over priced.. and hey it’s nice that I desire something other than a lamp right?! Well I find myself staring at a bunch of light recently so I figured finding a good pair of sunglasses might be useful! Those are kind of hard to come by right now for me though ..because it’s Winter.. not a lot of sunglasses on sale… I know I am a Megane Moth but.. I can wear contacts for the right pair of Sunglasses.. and since these cost $365 they better darn be the best sunglasses I have ever had. Of course.. for that price it is not just sunglasses it also comes with a wiping cloth with Nico Robin printed on it.. and a case with the One Piece logo!
Okay..so the frame has to be by a designer right? I mean…. otherwise $365 for two sheets of some acrylic glass and a thin frame seems a bit overpriced… NO! It’s made by Bandai’s Toy Division… So this is a toy?!It does look stylish. I will give it that. It has UV400 Protection so that is good.. but as a cosplay article.. I have seen other yellow tinted glasses before and with such a thin frame like the one Robin uses.. no one will really fine tooth comb that stuff… you pay because this is OFFICIAL.. this is not just a cosplay prop! These ARE the exact same glasses Robin wears or something.. well.. I want them.. I just would never pay for them.. but if you are a millionaire and are looking to give me a cute gift.. I’ll happily take this as it will let me look at the world a little bit more as if it was a lamp, all yellow and all!
Honourable mention here goes to the Fun’iki Digital Eyewear.. which are glasses.. that flash in a colour every time you get an email or a phone notification! This so that you don’t ever have to check your phone to see if that email already arrived. For $450 dollars you can save all that time you spend looking on your phone falsely.. and instead you get constant flashing eyes in your face.. I am a Moth and I am afraid I might get epilepsy from this…if things seem dire.. there should really be a way that you can tell a new notification has popped up on your phone.. you know maybe a sound signal.. or a vibration?!…. Oh wait! Talk about solving a non problem!

Now that we have to spend so much time at home here in lockdown, we might as well assure it’s the best quality time we have. With a quality time becomes a quality climate. In 1992 Momma Mothra fought Godzilla and well, I kind of want revenge! Now for $125 dollar I can make Godzilla work for me! To make sure my wings don’t go to try! He got downsized a bit to make sure he fits my home to about a 20 centimeter size. So even if I am not using the humidifier! It will look like a cool decorative piece in my plushie and figure cabinet. Unlike my figures though it has a bit of a function and generally one I kind of actually need! It looks sturdy enough so I can probably slap it around a bit and tell Mamma I beat Godzilla so all the more reason for me to like it.
What Godzilla does, he does with flair! Of course he doesn’t just breath a delightfully moist mist! A little blue Led Light will tint the mist blue in dark rooms! So when Indigo dims my lights again! …. Baka! … I will see the blue mist! Just like Godzilla’s atomic breath! It also comes equipped with sounds from Mothra vs Gozilla. Mostly it’s roars of course… which might be kind of distrubing for my neighbour, as if Godzilla cries I tend to do my cry as well. I still need to work on it because I keep ending up with Wrrrrrryyyyyy but people will always remember another guy for that. Regardless… Godzilla comes with a second “tail” that you can hook up with your power grid (provided you have the right adapter as it will have a Japanese plug). Shinji Nishikawa has designed the packaging. Well.. kind of, he helped illustrate it so the box art is nice.. and just look at the little guy! Doesn’t he look adorable?!
